    Time:90'
    • Tottenham Hotspur
    • Lazio
    • 90+4' FULL TIME: Spurs pretty good, and had the ball in the net a couple of times, but couldn't get the result. They'll not be devastated not to take all three points, but they will be a little bit frustrated. Lazio were well-organised in the first half, cynical in the second, and got their point. Group J
    • 90+3' Nasty challenges from Ederson and Cavanda in quick succession on Naughton - there should be a set piece left and time should remain for Spurs to take it. In fact, we're resuming with a long throw once Hernanes is replaced by Scaloni, and Mason comes on for Dembele.
    • 90+2' Lazio change: Ederson replaces Andre Dias. The last few seconds being taken out of this match by Lazio, who've dug in for their point.
    • 90+1' HALF A CHANCE! Naughton hangs up a huge cross from deep, which sits high in the air and is met by Townsend at the far post. He nods into the side netting, but he might have been better off heading back across goal.
    • 90' Bale almost got a header on Walker's delivery, then Sigurdsson also tries to make something of it. Neither can strike a decisive blow. Three added minutes to play.
    • 89' Another crass challenge - Lulic floors Walker in the corner. It's another very useful set piece, and there won't be many more to come.
    • 88' Townsend very nearly beaten by Lulic, but escapes from his clutches and surges upfield.
    • 87' Into the final minutes here and across Europe - you can keep up with the action everywhere in the Europa League scorecentre
    • 86' Vertonghen runs unchecked from his own half into the centre circle, then seems to get a nosebleed and turns back to play a cautious pass.
    • 85' Townsend flashes a cross-cum-shot at goal, which dips awkwardly in front of Marchetti - he grabs hold, even managing to prevent the corner as the ball threatens to squeeze its way beyond the line.
    • 84' Dear oh dear - terrible challenge from Mauri on Naughton as he builds up some speed. Yellow for what was a very calculated foul.
    • 83' Lazio break, and Lulic has a chance to cross from the left, but his effort is scuffed.
    • 82' Dembele and Sigurdsson link well, but the Icelander cannot make the final pass to Defoe in the box.
    • 81' Lazio bring on Mauro Zarate (formerly of Birmingham) for Onazi. Shortly afterwards, Townsend comes on for Lennon. Lennon has been captain tonight, and the armband now passed to Defoe.
    • 80' Mauri close! Let down by his first touch because he had done superbly well to beat the offside trap, and better close control could have left him on his own in the box.
    • 79' The home side still without a win at home this season - they've let two winnable games in the Premier League turn into draws - and they've had the better of things tonight.
    • 78' Time just starting to run out for Spurs here. AVB is lining up a second change with Andros Townsend receiving some instructions.
    • 77' Looks like a straight swap rather than a tactical shift. Dempsey worked hard, could and should have had a goal. His link-up play was pretty good as well, without doing anything spectacular.
    • 76' Substitution made: Dempsey off, Sigurdsson on.
    • 76' Looks like Cavanda landed on Bale's calf as the two competed for a ball. Not intentional - but very painful. He's rising awkwardly to his feet, and for the moment at least will continue.
    • 75' Gareth Bale is down and in some serious pain. Play continues without the ball being put out of play, and the referee eventually stops it.
    • 74' Sigurdsson putting on his shirt on the sidelines as Hernanes gives away the latest Lazio foul. You sense the visitors would now quite happily take a point.
    • 73' Spurs still have time to go out and get a winner, but with Dempsey's goal in the first half chalked off when it should have stood the luck has not been with them so far.
    • 72' That's a very tough call on Spurs. Looked like Mauri was beaten fair and square, and both players were competing closely for the ball in the way that you see happen in the penalty box all the time.
    • 71' CAULKER SCORES! NO - A FOUL AWARDED! Caulker gets above Mauri and nods Bale's cross in at the far post - should be a glorious moment on his second Spurs appearance, but it's disallowed for the way he climbed over Mauri!
    • 69' A slight hold-up as we wait for a Europa League-branded ball to be found. Yes, really.
    • 68' Walker wriggles down the touchline and wins a corner for the home side.
    • 67' Lazio have committed 15 fouls to Spurs' four - tells you a little bit about the defending they have had to do - some of it getting a touch desperate and cynical.
    • 66' Yellow card for Gonzalez now - after a clumsy challenge just a couple of minutes ago, this one was too much for referee Hategan's taste.
    • 65' Spurs have had their chances, and still not made them count. Possession now 63/37 in their favour.
    • 64' CHANCE! SANDRO SHOULD SCORE! Bale's delivery has not been great this evening but that was a gem, pacy, whipped in to the far post. Sandro got himself in place, was not picked up by a Lazio player, and glanced his header wide. A firmer contact, and surely it would have been the opener.
    • 63' Another foul - Gonzalez sliding in on Lennon as he ran towards the penalty area. Lucky not to see yellow as well, but Spurs still in a very decent position. Bale over the set piece.
    • 62' Yellow for Andre Dias, who brings down Bale. It was a bodycheck - he was nowhere near Bale as he ran through the middle.
    • 61' No substitutes made by either side yet - Spurs have Sigurdsson as their most offensive option on the bench.
    • 60' AVB writing notes furiously on the touchline. Seems to be just on some loose sheets of paper. Note to Mrs AVB - a nice leather-bound notebook would make a lovely Christmas gift.
    • 59' Bale offside - and again Spurs are close. The winger played a one-two with Dempsey, but raced free just too quick. If he'd just been able to hold his run half a second he would still have been through, and when Defoe tucked his pass into the net, as he did, the goal would have stood.
    • 58' Hernanes threatened to take charge of the game in the very early stages, but he's been subdued since. Sandro and Dembele have had control of the midfield.
    • 57' Gonzalez breaks with the ball - but finds not enough team-mates are surging forward with him. He loses his momentum and the move fizzles out.
    • 56' Mauri and Onazi both foul Bale, although the whistle only goes for the latter's challenge. Bale stands over the free kick, fairly deep.
    • 55' Corner for Spurs, earned by Defoe as Dias keeps him out wide and decides to go for safety first. Vertonghen comes forward for the set piece.
    • 54' A quick reminder that there are several Europa League games live as we speak. Keep up to date with them all in the Europa League scorecentre
    • 53' Very decent opportunities at both ends. The first half was short on clear-cut chances - we could be in for a tasty second half if things open up a bit.
    • 52' SPURS CLOSE! Straight up to the other end Lennon has Lazio in a panic. Half a shout for a penalty turned down, a stabbing effort from Dempsey to poke the ball home doesn't quite come off, and somehow the men in blue escape with conceding a corner.
    • 51' CHANCE FOR LAZIO! Klose turns provider, laying it off to Mauri, and at just the wrong moment it slips under his foot. That takes the sting out of the chance, and despite Onazi's best efforts to bundle through, Lloris snuffs it out and gets Spurs moving.
    • 50' Ledesma makes an interception as Bale whips in a quick cross after a rapid Spurs' break. Lazio just starting to look a little stretched here.
    • 49' Defoe held off by Andre Dias challenging for the ball in the corner. Dias is a huge man - the diminutive Defoe virtually bounced off him.
    • 48' Spurs play themselves elegantly out of their own half. Quick, first-touch football, with Dempsey slipping the ball right to Walker as the move continues.
    • 47' A very decent through ball from Dembele towards Bale, and only some alert defending prevents the left-winger stealing in to the byline first.
    • 46' The second half begins!
    • - What did you make of that? Good start from Lloris? Are Lazio serious Serie A contenders? Has AVB's message started to get through to the Spurs team? Isn't it lovely September weather we're having? Let me know what you're thinking on Twitter @Mark_Eurosport Follow here
    • 45' HALF-TIME: No added seconds whatsoever. Spurs have had the better of the play - Lazio have gone closest to scoring when Gonzalez hit the post. All to play for in the second half.
    • 44' Onazi blocks Walker's through ball again. He's providing some useful cover for Lulic, who Lennon has got ahead of on a couple of occasions.
    • 43' A couple of further long-distance hits from Lazio after that Gonzalez effort - Ledesma with a swerving effort from too far out to worry Lloris, and Onazi with a low shot that starts wide and ends wider.
    • 42' Gonzalez grins at that effort, and why wouldn't he? It was a superb strike. As close as Lazio have been so far - as close as either side have gone.
    • 41' GONZALEZ HITS THE BAR! AND WHAT A SHOT IT WAS! The Uruguayan meets a clearing header from Vertonghen on the run and on the volley, and drills it from 25 yards onto the upright. Nothing Lloris could have done had it dipped underneath - it was a rocket.
    • 40' Mauri blocked off as Lazio try to turn the tables and push forward. They hope for a corner, but instead it is a goal kick for the home side.
    • 39' Walker looks to combine with Lennon, but sees his through ball blocked off.
    • 38' Possession 62/38 in favour of Spurs so far. Walker wins a free kick defending deep by his own penalty area, and Lloris orders his team upfield.
    • 37' A reminder that you can keep up to speed with the rest of the matches in the Europa League as they happen by following from the Europa League scorecentre
    • 36' Marchetti grabs hold of a Bale cross - Bale's been a menace this evening as ever, but his delivery has been nondescript.
    • 35' A couple of improved moments from Lazio. One of Spurs' problems this season is being the better side and not making it count. Lazio have the ammunition to take advantage.
    • 34' Another half-chance for Lazio - Mauri drifts into a bit of space, and dinks the ball deftly into Klose's path. It could be a spectacular driven goal from the edge of the area if he connects - but he kicks the air instead.
    • 33' And they are almost punished for it. Terrible lapse of concentration from Dembele, underhitting a pass back to Vertonghen and allowing Lazio to steal in. Klose tries a low cross from the right, which Lloris half blocks for a corner.
    • 32' The first quarter of an hour or so was pretty even, but since that point Tottenham have looked pretty good. They have yet to make it count on the scoresheet, however.
    • 31' Defoe not impressed to be held up so cynically by Cavanda - the Belgian, who was born in Angola, rightly penalised.
    • 30' It's Walker's turn to cause a bit of havoc by running with the ball at pace. Lazio leave him almost unchecked, wary of putting the boot in. Spurs' wingplay has been their strongest asset so far - how very Harry Redknapp of them...
    • 29' Dempsey takes the set piece from the left, driving it low and goalwards - again the Lazio wall stands firm.
    • 28' First booking of the evening - Biava on the right struggling with Lennon's pace, and brings him clumsily to the ground before he can get into the penalty area.
    • 27' A rogue pass from Hernanes straight into Walker's path almost put Lazio in deep trouble - but Bale (amongst others) had not been able to get back upfield and onside from the corner.
    • 26' Bale into the wall again - but this time he does at least get the consolation of a corner, which he runs over to take himself.
    • 25' Another free kick from distance for the home side. This one just a touch right of centre. After a bit of discussion, Bale will get another go.
    • 24' Sandro drives through and past three Lazio players, only to knock the ball on too far beyond him. Spurs just beginning to take control here, and despite not having a goal to their name, AVB will be encouraged by his team.
    • 23' Oh dear - replays show that Dempsey was in line with the last defender, and perhaps the assistant should have let that stand. Would have been the American's first goal for Spurs since his deadline day switch.
    • 22' DEMPSEY GOAL - NO! OFFSIDE! Bale switches to the right, drifts inside and picks out Dempsey at the far post who nods home, but the assistant's flag is up straight away.
    • 21' Halfway through the half, honours even so far. No stand-out chances, but the game developing nicely.
    • 20' Lazio having to work hard here to deal with this little flurry of Spurs pressure - Klose back in defence and helping marshall the defending at the corner.
    • 19' LENNON CLOSE! Played through in a one-two by Defoe having exploited the space left by Lulic, but Marchetti aware in the Lazio goal. Lennon gets a half chance to make amends, but picks out Bale who nods over.
    • 18' Lulic carries the ball upfield, only to be stopped in his tracks by Sandro and Tottenham break.
    • 17' Bale does very well to cut out at full stretch a teasing through ball from Hernanes towards the right wing.
    • 16' Now Bale gets a similar opportunity from the other side - again, the first to it is a player in the dark Lazio blue. Their organisation seems to be repelling most things Tottenham have thrown at them.
    • 15' Naughton wins a free kick on the left-hand side now, which is lofted hopefully forward without troubling a Lazio defence who've conceded once in three Serie A games so far.
    • 14' Straight into the wall from Bale. He can hit a sumptuous free kick, but that was not one of them. Tottenham moved back down the field a bit as Lazio clear, but the hosts are back in possession quick enough.
    • 13' Bale addresses the ball Ronaldo-style, legs slightly spread. It's ideal for a left-footed player, if a touch further out than he would want it.
    • 12' Dempsey looking to make something happen on the edge of the area, but seemingly going nowhere. He invites the tackle, and wins a useful-looking free kick.
    • 11' LAZIO CLOSE! First chance of the match, really, even if it didn't result in a shot. A wicked ball from the left from Gonzalez within a whisker of Klose - if he had made contact, it would surely have been the opener.
    • 10' Vladimir Petkovic, Lazio boss, has history with Spurs - he was manager of Young Boys when Tottenham met them in a Champions League play-off two years ago. Spurs went 3-0 down in Switzerland, but survived.
    • 9' Bale's turn now to stand up a high ball from the left. Not such a good ball but Spurs just beginning to make an impression here.
    • 8' Terrific run down the right and cross from Lennon. Lulic, a Bosnian international, left flummoxed by the winger's pace. Nobody on the end of the ball, but an early warning shot from Lennon telling of Spurs' danger on the flanks.
    • 7' Risky from Lloris? He's happy to use his feet to create a bit of space and clear the ball - but he was under a bit of pressure from Klose as he did so. The France international comes to no harm, however.
    • 6' Tough challenge from Ledesma on Sandro - these two uncompromising South American midfielders could be an interesting head-to-head.
    • 5' Both sides have started pretty well. Spurs for the moment happy to play the ball across the back four, Walker even knocking it back to Lloris for some early touches on his debut.
    • 4' Big day for Caulker, who's played just one full game for Spurs. He's just 20 years of age, and has started well.
    • 3' Gonzalez cuts along the wing, the ball breaks for Klose who powers forward into the Tottenham box, but Caulker shepherds him out of danger.
    • 2' Lazio normally play in a sky blue, but despite no colour clash are in navy shirts today. Dembele and Vertonghen get early touches of the ball as Spurs look to get forward.
    • 1' Away we go! Spurs, all in white, begin at White Hart Lane.
    • 20:00 The players take to the field. How do you see this one going? Will Spurs win their first game under AVB at White Hart Lane? You can tweet me your thoughts and predictions here @Mark_Eurosport Follow here
    • 20:00 Andre Villas-Boas: "It does seem a long time since I won it with Porto. A lot of things have happened since then. The memories are still present but at this time I can't live off the past. In our position we can't think too much about the past. In this life you constantly have to motivate yourself and put pressure on yourself to win more (trophies). This time it would be wonderful to win it again for Tottenham." Group J details
    • 19:55 It's a busy programme of Europa League action tonight, with several games just coming to an end, and several more about to begin. You don't have to miss a single goal or key incident - just follow it all from our Europa League scorecentre
    • 19:50 The Lazio fans in London have been in good spirits apparently, and have been united with Spurs fans in singing songs of tribute to Paul Gascoigne, who played for both clubs a couple of decades ago. Gazza was reportedly invited to the game, but is not here.
    • 19:45 Lazio, however, will be no pushover. They have begun Serie A with a perfect record from their opening three matches this season, and look strong. A couple of key men to watch will be striker Miroslav Klose, who has been a key figure for Germany for so long, and Argentine midfielder Hernanes, who dictates the pace of games when at his best.
    • 19:40 The headlines will be that Lloris makes his debut for Spurs. 'At last!' proclaimed one paper earlier today, conveniently forgetting that this is just the second match for which Lloris has been eligible for Spurs. The more significant news is that AVB has clearly taken this competition seriously - there are changes from the weekend's win at Reading, but it's a strong-looking line-up.
    • 19:35 TOTTENHAM: Lloris, Walker, Caulker, Vertonghen, Naughton, Dembele, Sandro, Lennon, Dempsey, Bale, Defoe - Subs - Cudicini, Huddlestone, Gallas, Dawson, Sigurdsson, Townsend, Mason /// LAZIO: Marchetti, Lulic, Dias, Biava, Cavanda, Hernanes, Gonzalez, Mauri, Ledesma, Onazi, Klose - Subs - Bizzarri, Ciani, Scaloni, Ederson, Zarate, Kozak, Floccari
    • 19:30 Good evening and welcome to live text commentary as Tottenham Hotspur welcome Lazio to White Hart Lane in their first Europa League game.
  • Summary

    • 90+1' HALF A CHANCE! Naughton hangs up a huge cross from deep, which sits high in the air and is met by Townsend at the far post. He nods into the side netting, but he might have been better off heading back across goal.
    • 71' CAULKER SCORES! NO - A FOUL AWARDED! Caulker gets above Mauri and nods Bale's cross in at the far post - should be a glorious moment on his second Spurs appearance, but it's disallowed for the way he climbed over Mauri!
