    • FT And there is the final whistle. 4-0 for Arsenal and it could have been more. Eduardo is the hero though as Arsenal set up a clash with Burnley.
    • 90+1 Van Persie now heads off the post after a good cross from Bendtner.
    • 89' ANOTHER ONE FOR ARSENAL - Cardiff give the ball away in midfield - Bendtner slips in Van Persie and the sub blasts the ball past Heaton.
    • 85' Heaton and Bendtner collide after Van Persie's slipped in ball between them. Heaton got there first but got a bang for his troubles. Both are ok though.
    • 81' Inches wide from Bischoff as he tries a cross goal shot. 19 attempts on goal from Arsenal - just 2 from Cardiff.
    • 78' Van Persie fires a very powerful low shot at Heaton that the Manchester United loanee does well to save but he was offside.
    • 76' Both a mobile phone and a shoe have been thrown from the Cardiff section. Might not be the last we hear of that.
    • 74' Cardiff follow suit again - Riccardo Scimeca on for Gavin Rae.
    • 74' Arsenal make another change - the impressive Vela goes off and Amaury Bischoff comes on.
    • 72' Lack of rhythm in the game at the moment as the subs settle into the match.
    • 68' Cardiff also make a double change - Parry and Purse go off with Whittingham and Blake coming on.
    • 68' And the crowd rise to a man as Eduardo comes off for Van Persie. Nasri goes off too with Ramsey coming on.
    • 67' Eduardo nearly has a chance at the back post for a hat-trick but a desperate Cardiff challenge denies him.
    • 65' Cardiff with a free-kick in a great position just left of centre 30 yards out...McCormack takes it but it hits off the wall and goes over the bar.
    • 63' The fans are signing Eduardo's name but will he be allowed to get his hat-trick? Van Persie is about to come on but for who?
    • 60' AND EDUARDO CALMLY CONVERTS - what a comeback story this is for the Brazilian it was Purse who brought him down.
    • 60' BUT NOW THEY HAVE A PENALTY AS EDUARDO IS FOULED.
    • 59' Vela goes down in the box the fans want a penalty but he just lost his balance.
    • 57' Arsenal give away the ball cheaply and for a moment Cardiff have a three-on-three situation. Nobody runs for Bothroyd though so he tries a powerful long shot. Decent hit but Fabianski gets down well to save.
    • 56' Great ball into the box by Gibbs and Purse sticks a leg out to clear that could have gone anywhere.
    • 54' Vela with a lovely, skilful run into the box but his shot is blocked by Roger Johnson.
    • 53' All gone a little flat now - let's hope this is not going to be the story of the half.
    • 50' Gallas mis-times a tackle on Bothroyd and he is the first man to go in the box. Cardiff have a free in a decent area here but Toure heads it clear.
    • 48' Arsenal dominating possession again in the early stages of the half - how can Cardiff have any chance if they cannot get the ball?
    • 46' And we are back underway - no changes on either side.
    • HT And there is the half-time whistle - Arsenal 2-0 up at the break and to be fair it could have been more. Cardiff goalkeeper Tom Heaton was their best player in that half.
    • 45' WHAT A MISS FROM BENDTNER - first it was Vela controlled and turned superbly in the box before Heaton made a great save but it fell straight for Bendtner who just has to tap it in but he hits the post - it comes back out to him but Heaton then denies him with another superb save.
    • 44' Arsenal look like they are going to launch another attack but Vela mis-controls a pass from Denilson - the first time and Arsenal player has done such a thing tonight.
    • 42' Good defending from Gallas and then Gibbs ends a couple of Cardiff "attacks"
    • 40' Arsenal have taken their foot off the gas a little since the second goal but Cardiff still cannot get into the game.
    • 39' Denilson goes forward with purpose but then his shot lets him down as it goes well wide.
    • 36' With Arsenal playing this well who needs Adebayor, Fabregas, Rosicky, Van Persie, Arshavin, Diaby, Clichy et al
    • 34' Arsenal are two in front NICKLAS BENDTNER with a lovely flicked header into the corner of the net direct from a Nasri corner. 2-0 Arsenal and they are full value for it.
    • 31' A rare quiet phase of the game here - Cardiff will be happy about that even if they are the side behind.
    • 28' Nasri with a storming run and shot from just outside the box - Heaton mis-reads the flight of the effort and his "save" could have flown into the net but it goes away from danger. Why was Nasri given such room though?
    • 27' Cardiff have at least had a couple of corners now and they have tried to fire them in low but Arsenal defend.
    • 25' A replay of the goal shows that Gallas may have fouled Bothroyd at the other end before Arsenal broke and scored but Cardiff still should have done more to prevent the break.
    • 24' The ball nearly falls to Eduardo again six yards out but Cardiff finally scramble clear.
    • 22' Cardiff just cannot get the ball in this match - still all Arsenal.
    • 20' GOAL EDUARDO!! - he sets it up and finishes it - he plays the ball down to Vela on the left - the Mexican then chips a ball back into the box and Eduardo heads into the corner of the net. He deserves that after a superb start to this match.
    • 20' Bendtner slips a ball to Toure who skips by his man into the box and gets a shot away but there was not enough power on it to trouble Heaton.
    • 18' More desperate defending from Cardiff as Eduardo, Vela and Bendtner nearly create a chance between them. Cardiff have been on the ropes since the start here.
    • 16' More lovely play from Arsenal - Vela and Eduardo link-up but then McNaughton cuts out the Brazilian's cross.
    • 16' Cardiff with a rare attack but Toure blocks McCormack's shot on goal.
    • 15' No shortage of confidence from Eduardo as he tries to lob Heaton from half-way but that goes well wide - still - great to see the Brazilian so involved.
    • 13' Nasri cuts a ball into the side of the box - Bendtner then flashes across a cross and Eduardo gets his head on it but it came to him suddenly and it goes well wide.
    • 11' Spotted side-by-side in the stands: Arshavin, Fabregas and Adebayor - just some of the Arsenal talent not available to Arsene Wenger tonight.
    • 10' The Arsenal pressure has subsided somewhat but Cardiff are still giving the ball away too cheaply.
    • 7' Another good save from Heaton with his legs denies a Gallas header - all Arsenal in these opening moments.
    • 6' Eduardo sets up a counter attack with a great cross field ball to Vela. The Mexican runs to the edge of the area and fires a shot that Heaton has to get down quickly to save. The Cardiff keeper makes sure it is a superb double save by then denying Bendtner.
    • 5' Nice build up play from Arsenal and Sagna puts in a good deep ball into the box. Bendtner gets his head on it but it goes just wide. The cross might have been just a little high for him to be fair.
    • 2' Eduardo's first involvement is to steal the ball off a Cardiff defender and it is greeted with warm cheers.
    • 1' And Cardiff in their yellow shirts get us underway.
