    • 90+5' The final whistle. Sunderland 0-2 Everton. David Moyes' team have been excellent, and they will face Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. Sunderland were poor, and went down to Nikica Jelavic's first half strike and David Vaughan's own goal in the second period.
    • 90+4' Gibson with a snapshot is well wide.
    • 90+4' Campbell outpaces Distin but is off balance as he shoots and Howard is able to save. If that had gone in, it could have been an interesting last two minutes.
    • 90+3' There are vast empty areas of empty seats now.
    • 90+2' Everton win a corner. Tony Hibbert comes on for Cahill for his 300th apearance for the Toffees.
    • 90+1' Bardley flicks in a cross towards Campbell, but it is over his head. I had forgotten that he was on.
    • 90' Last minute of normal time. There will be five of added-on time. That seems cruel on Sunderland. Referee Probert should put them out of their misery.
    • 89' Jagielka is chopped down by Cattermole. And here comes the Cattermole yellow!
    • 88' Denis Stracqualursi on for Jelavic. Just when I was enjoying the absence of Kyrgiakos and the consequent typing horrors!
    • 87' Another misplaced Sunderland pass. O'Neill is seething.
    • 86' Jelavic runs down the left channel and beats Turner, but then cuts back to beat him again and loses the ball.
    • 85' The 43,140 crowd have been silenced apart from the pocket of 6,000 Everton fans.
    • 83' Bendtner finds Bardsley down the right, and Sunderland manage a corner. McClean's cross deflects for a second corner. Sunderland fans shout for a penalty for a Distin handball.
    • 81' Phil Jagielka replaces Gueye.
    • 81' McClean breaks down the left, but Distin again clears, then Heitinga mops up the second ball. Distin has been brilliant tonight.
    • 80' Cattermole with a dreadful pass gives the ball to Gueye, but the impressive Frenchman is unable to break.
    • 79' Seven yellow cards have been shown. None have been shown to Cattermole!
    • 78' Baines goes down in the penalty area, Sunderland break but Heitinga makes a great tackle to deny McClean.
    • 77' Everton are being very professional in breaking up the game.
    • 76' Larsson hacks at Neville, and gets a yellow. Then Howard gets a yellow for timewasting.
    • 73' The players are getting tetchy, after Neville catches McClean. Inevitably, Cattermole gets involved. Neville looks supremely innocent. Jelavic gets a yellow for clashing with Bardsley. As does Bardsley.
    • 72' A rare touch for Howard as he catches a deep cross by Vaughan on the left.
    • 71' Fellaini gets a yellow card for fouling Sessegnon.
    • 70' Everton are playing triangles now. Phil Neville is one of the players showing off.
    • 68' Scrub that. This is Niall Quinn as manager era Sunderland. Gibson slashes a shot wide, Sunderland cannot put two passes together.
    • 68' Gueye, who has just got a yellow card for kicking the ball away, then shoots over from 15 yards after good work by Jelavic.
    • 67' Larsson with a free-kick from midfield thumps it over the head of Turner. Sums up the night for the home side.
    • 66' Baines gets to the left touchline and pulls the ball back to Jelavic to shoot left-footed, but Mignolet blocks again. The Belgian is the only Sunderland player who can hold his head high.
    • 65' Sunderland are being outplayed here. This is like Steve Bruce era Sunderland.
    • 63' Frazier Campbell is on for Wayne Bridge.
    • 61' Jelavic should have wrapped it up there, but shoots wide after being put through one-on-one with Mignolet by Cahill. It was another Sunderland error, with Turner giving the ball away to Cahill under pressure.
    • 60' Gardner is at right-back, with Bardsley at centre-half and Vaughan in midfield.
    • 59' Sessegnon is unable to divert a stretching volley at the far post on goal.
    • 56' An own goal. Sunderland 0-2 Everton. And it is Vaughan who has put it into his own goal. Fellaini overhits a pass across goal to Jelavic, but the Croat manages to get a weak shot on goal. Vaughan got back to cover, but then in a whir of legs manages to divert the ball into his own net before falling to the floor in horror. And if Djimi Traore is not now trending on Twitter I will be very surprised.
    • 55' Mignolet lets the ball drop in the area, and pandemonium ensues. Gueye then goes close with a shot rom the edge of the box.
    • 54' Cattermole give the ball away to Cahill, and Bridge has to concede a corner.
    • 52' Movement on the Black Cats' bench. David Vaughan is coming on for Kyrgiakos. The Greek defender has been pretty terrible. Vaughan is a midfielder, though, so O'Neill may go 3-5-2
    • 51' Sunderland look to be struggling when the ball is launched into the area. Kyrgiakos is having an unconvincing game in the centre of the Sunderland defence.
    • 50' Gibson is denied by a Turner block after a great ball to the edge of the area by Gueye. The Irishman should have gone for power rather than placement, though.
    • 49' Jelavic goes down under a Kyrgiakos challenge but he is soon ok.
    • 48' Kyrgiakos heads out a Distin long ball under pressure from Jelavic. Osman almost curls a shot into the top corner with a volley on the second ball, after Gueye's corner is cleared.
    • 47' Three-time FA Cup winner Phil Neville makes a poor pass down the right channel, and Sunderland build from the back.
    • 46' Sunderland kick off the second half. No changes for either side.
    • 45+3' That is half-time. Everton lead 1-0 at the Stadium of Light but it has been a relentless 45 minutes of action. Everton deserve the lead given to them by Nikica Jelavic at the midway point of the first half.
    • 45+2' Jelavic dumps Kyrgiakos onto the floor and forces a save from Mignolet, but Probert blows up eventually for the foul.
    • 45+1' McClean is dumped onto the floor by Fellani but Probert again lets it go.
    • 45' Two minutes of added-on time.
    • 45' Jelavic is lucky with a deflection as Michael Turner tries to clear on the halfway line, but Turner gets back to block the shot as he ran on to goal.
    • 43' Sunderland hold on to the ball in midfield, but the Everton bank of four is strong, and Bardsley ends up wasting a pass.
    • 41' Gardner handles in the centre of the park as he attempts to divert a misplaced pass back to Cattermole.
    • 39' Fellaini pulls back Sessegnon as he goes for goal, but referee Probert waves play on.
    • 37' Phil Neville's throw is flicked on by Fellaini and finds Jelavic, but the Croat does not get any purchase on the shot.
    • 36' Larsson's whipped-in free kick from the left-hand side of the box is wide.
    • 35' Yellow card for Gibson for pulling back Sessegon. The Ireland midfielder seems the one Everton player who is off the pace.
    • 34' McClean's corner is fisted out by Howard to Bardsley 30 yards out, but the Scotland full-back's volley flashes over.
    • 33' Osman fouls Wayne Bridge on the left. Larsson's set-piece is headed out for a corner.
    • 32' What a block by Leighton Baines to keep out Bendtner, after McClean's cross from the left causes panic in the Everton box.
    • 31' Osman almost gets through on goal after an elaborate move on the edge of the box, but Mignolet is able to grab the ball.
    • 29' This really is a classic cup tie. Sunderland are not keeping the ball well enough, though Sessegnon is impressive behind Bendtner. Everton are a lot more fluent.
    • 28' Bendtner is offside when released by Sessegnon, and shoots at Howard anyway.
    • 27' Sessegnon clips a lovely ball over the Everton defence for Larsson, but Howard and Heitinga manage to deal with it.
    • 25' All you can hear now are the 6,000 Everton fans. The club paid for their travel up tonight, and they are really backing the team in return.
    • 23' GOAL. Sunderland 0-1 Everton. Jelavic from close range. And how they deserve it! Fellaini releases Gueye down the left and he gets past Bardsley and crosses low for the January signing to score low past Mignolet. Kyrgiakos was out of position in the centre and allowed the Croat a run at the ball.
    • 22' Cahill and Everton look really dangerous from set-pieces. The Sunderland defence cannot deal with the late runs and prodigious leaps of the Aussie.
    • 21' Cahill with another chance and a header from a Gueye corner, again kept out by the Belgian goalkeeper. Cahill turns to referee Lee Probert, complaining that he was held as he jumped.
    • 20' Osman at the far post tries to deflect Fellaini's deep cross goalwards, but Mignolet again is sharp and keeps out the header.
    • 19' Bardsley concedes a corner under pressure from Cahill. Mignolet brilliantly saves the header from Cahill from Gibson's corner from the left.
    • 17' Gardner's dead ball hits the wall and deflects for a corner. But McClean's corner hits the first man on the post. This is great stuff though, really frenetic.
    • 16' Sessegnon is playing very well in the centre. Fellaini then trips Cattermole thirty yards from goal, after Gibson this time concedes possession in midfield.
    • 16' Heitinga clears a McClean cross from the left, after Distin gave the ball away to Sessegnon in midfield. Tim Howard fists away the corner.
    • 15' More Sunderland pressure down the right, but McClean is unable to get any power at the far post on Larsson's deep cross.
    • 14' Distin deals with Cattermole's speculative pass down the right channel for Gardner.
    • 13' Gibson catches Gardner with a high kick. Bendtner is unable to head the subsequent free-kick goalwards.
    • 13' This is a great atmosphere. It is like a typical old-style FA Cup tie.
    • 12' Cattermole tackles Osman well in the box, after a good reverse pass from Cahill on the right-hand side of the area.
    • 11' Stephane Sessegnon's header at the far post from Larsson's corner is weak and goes wide.
    • 10' A bit of quality from James McClean on the left, but Sylvain Distin clears the Derryman's cross for a corner.
    • 9' Kyrgiakos injures himself trying to block Cahill's shot, but soon is up after treatment.
    • 8' Osman slips the ball thrugh to Cahill in the right channel, but the Australian's shot is weak and straight at Simon Mignolet in the Sunderland goal.
    • 6' Tim Cahill has blood running from a cut, and has to go off to get it sorted. He came off worse when trying to head a ball challenging Kyrgiakos.
    • 5' Fellaini finds Osman down the right, and his cross is superb, but Kyrgiakos get in front of Nikica Jelavic and puts off the former Rangers' striker as he tries to head goalwards.
    • 4' Johnny Heitinga clears under pressure from Nicklas Bendtner.
    • 3' Sotiros Kyrgiakos concedes a corner. Gueye's corner is cleared and Sunderland break. But Craig Gardner is fouled in midfield. Bardsley's free-kick runs off Kyrgiakos and goes for a goal kick.
    • 2' Cattermole gives the ball away to Leon Osman in the middle of the field, then typically extricates himself out of the error by winning the ball back.
    • 1' Everton in their usual blue kick off the first half.
    • 20:00 The league game at the Stadium of Light and the FA Cup tie both ended 1-1.
    • 19:55 Good atmosphere building up at the Stadium of Light. The winners face Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. It is pretty much a full house here.
