    • 45+2' The half-time whistle goes at Upton Park, and it's 1-1 between West Ham and Manchester United with James Collins having cancelled out Tom Cleverley's opener with just four minutes between the two goals. The tie is very finely poised ahead of the second half.
    • 45+1' Vaz Te is tripped by Scholes but play continues, and the United midfielder could quite easily have earned four bookings so far - he has to be very careful from now on.
    • 45' There will be two added minutes at the end of the first half, and Ferguson is still ranting at the fourth official. He's on form today.
    • 44' Welbeck uses his pace once more to get in behind Demel, but he cannot pick out Hernandez in the six-yard box.
    • 43' Vaz Te again volleys into the stand with a hopeless effort, and Allardyce smiles ruefully on the touchline.
    • 42' Smalling trips Vaz Te as he skips down the left with his laces now done up, and West Ham have a free kick on halfway.
    • 41' There is a frustrating delay in play as Vaz Te does up his laces on the pitch, and why everyone has to wait for him to do that I've no idea.
    • 40' Vaz Te blazes a wild shot into the stand behind the United goal, and that's poor.
    • 39' Again, Carlton Cole wins a flick on against Evans, but there is no one running in behind him.
    • 38' Carlton Cole turns past Cleverley and charges down the left, with Evans forced to make a sliding challenge.
    • 37' Collison is booked for a second mistimed challenge in a matter of minutes, and he has no complaints. Perhaps that will satisfy Ferguson on the touchline.
    • 36' Ferguson is remonstrating with the fourth official now after Welbeck is brought down by Collison.
    • 35' Welbeck storms down the left and cuts inside before firing a shot on target from an acute angle, but Jaaskelainen manages to parry the ball unconvincingly to safety with Collins on hand to help out!

    • 33' Hernandez takes on a hugely ambitious volley from 25 yards, and it flies well over the crossbar!
    • 32' Rafael again slides down the right in an attempt to keep the ball in play from Smalling's pass, but it's a goal kick for the hosts.
    • 31' There are vociferous roars for a penalty from the home fans as Nolan goes down under a challenge from Vidic in the United box, but the referee waves away the appeals!
    • 30' Joe Cole is showing his quality now as he drifts out to the right and whips over another fine cross which Evans beats Carlton Cole to in the air.
    • 29' United are straight back up at the other end, with Hernandez and Welbeck putting the hosts' backline under real pressure.
    • 28' It was a pinpoint cross from Joe Cole, and the returning debutant played a key role in that equaliser from Collins.
    • 27' GOAL! Joe Cole whips over a wonderful cross from the left, and James Collins rises imperiously to head beyond De Gea with a powerful finish, and United's lead lasts all of four minutes at Upton Park! West Ham are back on terms.
    • 26' West Ham are pressing in search of a quick response, and United are under the cosh at the moment.
    • 25' It was a wonderful sweeping move from United for the goal, and Hernandez and Cleverley combined perfectly.
    • 24' Scholes is rightly booked for another very cynical challenge as he slides in to bring down Nolan, and the referee immediately reaches for his yellow card.
    • 23' GOAL! United are in front, and it's a brilliant run from Hernandez down the right that creates the chance, with Cleverley producing a clinical finish into the far corner of the net as he races on to meet the cut back! The visitors are in front.
    • 22' United continue to break at pace from the right, in particular, putting West Ham under pressure.
    • 21' It's end-to-end stuff, and Diarra wins a corner with a powerful run, before Cleverley clears from the resulting set piece.
    • 19' Potts clears off the line! Vidic wins a towering header inside the West Ham box to meet a corner from Buttner, and Potts clears off the line superbly at the far post!
    • 18' Rafael is mostly playing in front of Smalling down the right, but he continues to drift inside and into the middle.
    • 17' Scholes dictates the play for United from halfway, before Diarra brings down Rafael to concede a free kick.
    • 16' West Ham are piling on the pressure with deliveries punted into the United box, and Evans is being targeted.
    • 15' Hernandez mistimes his run slightly as he is ruled offside, getting in behind Potts down the right.
    • 14' Cole flicks on a long ball from Collins, but Nolan cannot quite latch on to it inside the United box.
    • 13' Hernandez and Welbeck are full of running in attack for United, but an over-zealous challenge from the latter gives Collins a free kick.
    • 12' Scholes receives a stern ticking off from the referee after a cynical foul on Nolan, and a free kick is awarded. He gets away without a booking.
    • 11' There is an almighty scramble in the United box as Collison whips over another corner, and eventually Evans clears under pressure!
    • 10' Potts does very well to race down the left and win a corner for his side, which Nolan will take...
    • 9' Diarra and Nolan combine in the United half, but Cleverley is swiftly in to challenge and clear.
    • 8' STAT: West Ham have scored an average of 1.2 goals per match, compared to United's 2.8.
    • 7' Smalling canters down the right and cuts the ball back for the onrushing Hernandez, but he cannot quite latch on to the delivery.
    • 6' Vaz Te is dropping very deep and looking to provide energy in the midfield to disrupt United's passing game.
    • 5' Cleverley looks to slip in Hernandez with a neat through ball but it rolls through to Jaaskelainen.
    • 4' Cole makes his first few meaningful touches as he jinks past Kagawa and finds Nolan, with West Ham seeing a good amount of the ball early on.
    • 3' David De Gea is making his eighth successive start in the United goal this evening – the longest run either he or Anders Lindegaard has enjoyed all season.
    • 2' Dan Potts, the 18-year-old recalled from a loan spell with Colchester, gets a few early touches of the ball.
    • 1' Kick-off! United pass the ball around at the back in their change strip of white shirts and black shorts.
