The full-time whistle is blown. Manchester City live to fight another day after that shaky end to the game. Blackburn will be buoyed by their performance and the result, though they will feel they missed a chance to progress here. Thanks for joining us today.
City look to be holding out for a draw. They have everyone behind the ball and are looking to run down the clock.
We'll have four minutes of stoppage time at the end of this match. Can either side grab a late winner?
Pablo Zabaleta replaces David Silva as Pellegrini looks to shore up his defence.
As you’d expect, it is ALL Blackburn now. Lescott heads behind under pressure from Rhodes.
SO CLOSE!! Cairney receives the ball on the right and wriggles away from Clichy to have a shot at goal. Pantilimon looks worried but is fortunate to see it fly wide of his far post.
Well, well, well... Blackburn probably won’t have a better chance to make the fourth round. They need to make this count now.
RED CARD! Boyata is sent off. Stupid, stupid second yellow. The young full-back has a swipe at Campbell and is lucky not to be shown a straight red.
Milner’s corner from the left gives Robinson real trouble. The keeper attempts to punch clear but gets it wrong. Hanley clears.
The two substitutes combine straight away. Rhodes skips down the right and hangs the ball up for Campbell, who heads marginally wide from 12 yards.
Spurr's long throw is cleared and City break. Dzeko's volleyed pass finds Milner on the left wing. He cuts inside and then plays in Navas but the Spaniard's shot from close range flies well wide of the target.
Double substitution - Rhodes replaces Gestede whilst DJ Campbell replaces Marshall. Bold. Very bold.
City pressing. Blackburn can't clear their lines. Milner's initial shot is blocked and then a flurry of crosses test the hosts' defence. Eventually Dzeko volleys over from the edge of the penalty area.
Jordan Rhodes is being readied on the touchline. Attacking move from Gary Bowyer.
Great save from Robinson. Navas picks the ball up 30 yards from goal and travels forward before sending a dipping effort towards the far post. Robinson is down well to beat the ball around the post.
City have taken the pace out of the game now. Black burn a resolute and disciplined, but aren’t seeing a great deal of the ball.
City have taken the pace out of the game now. Black burn a resolute and disciplined, but aren’t seeing a great deal of the ball.
Jesus Navas does come on and replaces Negredo, who is not happy to see his number go up on the board.
Shaky moment for Robinson who fumbles Dzeko’s fierce shot from 25 yards. The ball bounces between the keepers legs and then stops. Almost a(nother) very embarrassing moment for the keeper.
Pellegrini still not happy with his side’s performance. He won’t want a replay here. Jesus Navas is warming up on the bench.
King chases what seems to be a lost cause and forces Boyata into a mistake. Toure picks up the pieces, taking the ball from deep in his own half to send Milner down the right.
Milner bursts down the right and gets away from the tracking Spurr. At pace the City midfielder sends in a delightful ball, but Hanley is there to head away.
Silva’s corner is swung in with real pace and whip and is met by Negredo six yards from gaol. The striker doesn’t get up high enough and loops his header over the bar.
The free-kick is headed away from the penalty spot and drops to Marshall 25 yards from goal. He takes on touch to set himself and then sends a volley towards goal. It’s ugly, though, and flies high and wide.
King bursts down the left and is being hurried and harried by Boyata. The defender eventually brings the Blackburn man down and goes into the book.
Pantilimon dashes off his line to punch the ball clear. The keeper has his foot raised high in the air and only avoids catching Josh King in the head because the striker has the presence of mind to see what’s coming. Dangerous challenge.
Blackburn make their first change - Lee Williamson makes way for Joshua King.
Yaya Toure does indeed come on and replaces Fernandinho.
CHANCE!! Dzeko has a pop at goal from 20 yards that Robinson can only palm into the path of Negredo. With the keeper lying on the floor, all he has to do is nod it home but diverts his header wide of the target.
Toure is still waiting to come on. Pellegrini would have ideally liked to give the Ivorian a full 90 minutes rest, but needs must...
Boyata concedes a free kick on the right touchline. Cairney sends it into the box and it falls to Taylor, but the midfielder can only prod it over the bar from 10 yards.
Blackburn lose possession on the edge of the City area and are caught short at the back. Silva’s precise pass sends Negredo down the right, but the Spaniard is caught in two minds and loses the ball.
Yaya Toure is warming up on the touchline. Pellegrini obviously isn’t happy with how this second half is shaping up.
Spurr does very well down the left, taking the ball off Milner before evading the challenge of Garcia. There’s no option of a pass and he attempts to flick the ball past Boyata but soon loses possession.
The ball gets sent into the City penalty area and it’s not dealt with. Cairney is free at the back post but he’s caught flat-footed.
That’s a great show of character from the Championship side. The crowd are behind them now and they’ll look to rock City.
Pantilimon really should have done better with Gestede’s initial header. The striker made good contact but it was central to the keeper and he’ll be disappointed with that.
GOAL!! Blackburn are level. Cairney’s corner is met by the towering Gestede. Pantilimon can’t hold the ball and it rolls to Dann five yards from goal. The captain duly sidefoots the ball into the back of the net.
Clichy finds some space down the left and sends a delightful ball into the box. Robinson is off his line but flaps at the ball. Fortunately for the keeper Negredo can’t quite make contact.
Negredo and Hanley come together inside the Blackburn penalty area. It was totally accidental and the referee allows play to continue.
Hanley and Taylor – the two who had a little spat at the end of the first half – come together and make up. Good choice from Taylor – I wouldn’t want to argue with Grant Hanley either.
Cairney’s corner is sent back to the penalty spot, but the height of the delivery allows for Pantilimon to dash off his line and claim. That’s not the way to take a corner with a 6’ 8” keeper in net...
Silva and Fernandinho exchange a number of short, sharp passes before Milner receives the ball wide on the right. Henley comes across and fouls Milner, but neither the referee nor the official award the free-kick. Poor decision.
The set-piece comes to nothing and City go on the counter-attack. Clichy bombs down the left and could go down under a challenge but stays on his feet and centres for Milner. Hanley’s excellent sliding challenge clears the danger.
It’s as you were for both sides at the start of this second half. Fernandinho fouls Lowe midway through the City half and this is a half-chance for Blackburn.
Blackburn had been very impressive in those opening 45 minutes and were unlucky to go into the break a goal down. The script will be somewhat different this half, now that they need to score.
The second half is underway.
The half-time whistle is blown. Chris Taylor and Grant Hanley seem to be having a bit of an altercation as the two make their way into the tunnel.
That's a real killer for Blackburn, who have performed solidly throughout the opening half. Gary Bowyer's teamtalk will be slightly different now.
GOAL! Silva's corner from the left is met by Dzeko 12 yards from goal. The striker's header is wayward but Negredo is on hand at the far post to prod home from four yards. Simple finish. Shoddy defending.
Marshall has Boyata one-on-one and attempts to flick the ball past him but is muscled off it.
City continue to attack as this first half draws to an end. There's llots of possession but very little end product as of yet.
Dzeko has a shot at goal from 20 yards that loops up into the air. Negredo busts a gut to get on the end of it but fould Hanley in the process.
The hosts are penned in their own half once more. Silva draws a foul 40 yards from goal, and the two centre halves make their way into the box.
The hosts do finally break out of their half and have two half-chances in quick succession. Lowe gets down the left and then crosses towards the far post, but Gestede can't quite make contact. The ball then falls to Taylor on the edge of the area, but his shot is high and wide.
Blackburn are struggling to get hold of the ball and get out of their half. There's no respite at the minute. They will be looking foward to getting in for half-time.
Negredo's clever reverse ball puts Dzeko through on goal, but the flag is instantly raised in the air and play is brought back. Still all City.
Milner drops out wide to the touchline yet again and sends in a delightful cross. Negredo is challenging Spurr for the ball and goes down under pressure. It looked like the striker could have actually reached the ball, but is adamant that he was hauled to the floor.
Bowyer's men have done an awful lot of running in this half and, with less than ten minutes to go until the half-time whistle, will be looking to keep City out.
This is a real period of sustained pressure from City. Boyata overlaps down the right and pulls the ball back to Silva who is unmarked 10 yards from goal. The Spaniard leans back and sends the ball high over the bar. A warning for Blackburn.
The visitors are starting to dictate play. Blackburn, who are very disciplined at the back, have lost that intensity when closing down and are allowing City more time on the ball.
City are starting to settle now, though their players aren't quite clicking as of yet. Blackburn will need to be wary, however...
Silva does ever so well to travel out of his own half and burst towards the Blackburn area. The Spaniard attempts to play a one-two with Boyata, but the defender gets the return ball all wrong and the ball runs out of play.
Milner again tries to get the better of Cairney on that left touchline, but the Blackburn man uses his strength to see the ball out for a goal kick.
Lovely bit of skill from Negredo who receives a sharp pass and flicks the ball over the top of Hanley to put himself through on goal. Robinson is off his line in a flash to gather, though. great bit of improvisation.
It's still very end-to-end, this. Fernandinho links up well with Silva inside the Blackburn half and, with no challenge coming, has a shot at goal. It's hit well but is central to the keeper and is gathered easily.
Ooh, Robinson almost has egg on his face just second later. He challenges Negredo in the air for a high ball but misjudges the flight and allows for the striker to win it. Fortunately for the keeper it falls kindly and he is able to make the save at the second attemp.
Milner drops out wide and skips past Henley to cross. Robinson is off his line in a flash - and comes a fair way, too - to collect the ball. That's his first take of the day and he'll be happy with that.
Every successful Blackburn pass is greeted by a huge cheer from the home support. They're certainly happy with the way the opening 25 minutes have gone, but there's still a long way to go yet...
Marshall cuts in from the left and opts to shoot at goal from distance. Lescott is the nearest defender and raises his arms to protect his face. The ball ricochets off a hand but the referee isn't interested.
Rather surprisingly it has been the hosts who have posed the bigger goal threat so far. Milner looks to get in behind Henley and receives the ball from Clichy's backheel, but the flag goes up for offside.
City are given the chance to move into the Blackburn half but a mix-up between Silva and Javi Garcia allows for Blackburn to pick up the ball once more.
Cairney clips in his second corner in as many minutes and aims for Dann once more. The defender beats his marker but can't get enough purchase on it, looping the ball up in the air before Pantilimon claims.
Henley bursts forward from right back, flicking the ball past Javi Garcia before being tripped by Nastasic. The defender goes into the book for a rather cynical challenge.
The corner is floated in from the left towards the far post. Centre-half Dann rises highest and powers a header at goal from 10 yards. It's straight at Pantilimon, though, and the keeper is able to make a comfortable save.
A clever passage of play from the hosts results in Taylor bursting forward and having a pop at goal from 20 yards. Nastasic sticks a leg out and diverts it for the day's first corner.
Still neither keeper has had a save to make. In truth, Pantilimon has been the busier of the two - having to race off his line and clear the danger.
Taylor collects the ball in his own half and cleverly jinks past a number of challenges before overrunning it, eventually losing out to Lescott.
Silva attempts another through ball into the path of Negredo, but, again, it has too much on it and the Spaniard is unable to keep the ball in play. The hosts will be very happy with their start so far.
Huge cheers around Ewood Park as Negredo completely fluffs his attempted dribble, running the ball out of play.
Milner hits the right touchline and faces up against Spurr. The City man thinks he's won a throw-in, but the linesman holds the flag in Blackburn's direction. Milner has a little word with the official, but replays show the decision was the correct one.
The visitors waste possession once more. It's all very narrow at the minute for City. The two full-backs haven't been involved too much as of yet.
Rovers continue to work extremely hard when not in possession of the ball. City still haven't been given the time to thread their usual short, sharp passes.
Pantilimon has had to be on his toes so far today. A couple of times the keeper has raced off his line to clear the danger. Once again he rushes out of his box to launch the ball into the stands.
We've not had a shot in the opening ten minutes of this game. It's been a decent spectacle so far, with both sides attacking in numbers, but the two defences have been on top.
Marshall looks to latch onto a lofted ball over the top of the City defence. He has the beating of Lescott but comes up short when trying to win it off Clichy, conceding a foul in the process.
Negredo drops out wide and flicks the ball past Hanley, but the defender uses his strength to usher the ball out of play for a goal kick.
Gestede is sent through the middle and looks to beat Lescott. The Blackburn striker falls under the challenge of the defender but the whistle blows in favour of City after the linesman had flagged for a foul.
Clichy finds some space in behind the covering defender. The full-back hugs the touchline and attempts to move forward but dwells on the ball and is tackled.
Silva drops short and receives the ball before moving forward. He's felled 30 yards from goal and opts to take the free-kick himself. It's floated in towards the back post where Negredo is lurking but the ball has too much pace on it.
City gain possession of the ball and pass it around amongs themselves at the back. Pellegrini's side are looking to dictate the play but are stuck in their own half at present.
Blackburn have sent a number of deliveries into the Man City penalty area so far. Bowyer's men a pressing high and a putting pressure on their opponents. City haven't hveen given the chance to settle yet.
It's been a good start by the hosts - high tempo stuff in the opening few minutes. Gested attempts to hold up the ball but is dispossessed by Lescott.
The game is underway. The hosts kick off.
With just five minutes left until kick-off, how do you see this one going today, folks? Can you see anything other than a routine City win? Let me know on the comments section below, or on Twitter @JoshuaHayward99.
Manuel Pellegrini has made seven changes to the side which beat Swansea on Wednesday. David Silva is reintroduced into the side following suspension, while Alvaro Negredo and Edin Dzeko are the men in charge of getting City's goals. Costel Pantilimon starts in goal with Joe Hart on the bench.
So, Gary Bowyer has opted to field a side without the club's leading goalscorer, Jordan Rhodes, who starts on the bench. Paul Robinson was deemed fit enough to make his first start in over a year. The former England keeper has been sidelined following surgery to remove a blood clot on the lung.
The teams are in - BLACKBURN: Robinson, Henley, Dann, Grant Hanley, Spurr, Cairney, Lowe, Taylor, Williamson, Marshall, Gestede... SUBS: Kilgallon, King, Campbell, Rhodes, Eastwood, Rochina, Judge /// MAN CITY: Pantilimon, Boyata, Lescott, Nastasic, Clichy, Milner, Fernandinho, Javi Garcia, Silva, Negredo, Dzeko... SUBS: Hart, Kompany, Zabaleta, Kolarov, Jesus Navas, Toure, Lopes
However, Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini has stated that he must utilise his squad after a hectic festive period and a League Cup date with West Ham on Wednesday. He said: "We are going to make changes because we are playing too often in the last (few) weeks. We are going to try to have a good squad and to win the first game in our FA Cup (campaign) because for our team it is an important cup."
City, meanwhile, welcome the return of playmaker David Silva after suspension, but midfielder Jack Rodwell will miss the match after suffering a fresh hamstring injury. Strikers Sergio Aguero and Stevan Jovetic and defenders Micah Richards and Martin Demichelis are still out.
Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer has the luxury of being able to field a strong side against City. Tom Cairney and Rudy Gestede - who have both made their loan moves permanent - are available, while Jason Lowe returns from suspension and could start. Dickson Etuhu is the only notable absence for Rovers, while Paul Robinson will have a late fitness test.
This fixture sees the Championship's tenth-placed team take on the Premier League's second-placed side and last year's FA Cup finalists. It's surely going to be a tough ask for Blackburn but, as we've seen in the past, anything can happen in the FA Cup.
Good afternoon and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the FA Cup third round tie between Blackburn and Manchester City from Ewood Park.
