Sheffield United Substitution
90'+3
And that's the final whistle. What an enthralling FA Cup semi-final, with all kinds of drama, but no fairytale ending for Sheffield United. It's Hull who will face Arsenal in the final. Thank you for your company this afternoon.
90'+3

GOAL! And David Meyler settles it for Hull, on the break, and coolly slotting home.
Hull City Goal

Right Footed - Bottom Left

90'+2
Maguire picks it up about 40 yards out and his fans urge him to shoot - he takes it a little further and then does, but it's blocked.
90'
Three minutes of additional time - can Sheffield United get that equaliser?
Sheffield United Goal

Right Footed - Bottom Right

89'

GOAL! And Murphy belts it home after a diving header was batted back towards his feet.
88'
Great break from Hull City again, with Fryatt picking up the ball on the edge of his own area and playing it forward - but Aluko is offside.
86'
Harris has looked very confident at the back for Sheffield United today. Here he ushers it back to Howard away from the lurking Meyler.
84'
Davies gets an early taste of the ball, running in down the right, but he can't control that and it's out for a goal-kick.
Sheffield United Substitution
83'

There we go. Porter and Davies replace the two goalscorers Baxter and Scougall.
Sheffield United Substitution
81'
Two substitutes are lurking for Sheffield United, but they're on the attack and no chance to make the changes yet. Brayford continues to look good down the right.
79'
Swift turn and break from Sone Aluko, and he sprints forward but he drags his shot wide.
77'
Howard's playing as a sweeper at the moment, racing out to head clear away from Fryatt.
75'
Will Nigel Clough make a substitution for a final roll of the dice? 15 minutes to go.
74'
And now it's the Hull fans' turn to cheer every pass completion from their side.
72'
With that two-goal advantage, Hull are easing off a little, content to retain possession without moving forward necessarily.
70'
Unbowed, Sheffield United continue to press, with Maguire offering an overhead kick as his contribution.
69'
Those three changes have made Hull City look a completely different side from their first-half performance.
67'

GOAL! Well, those substitutions have been very wise ones. Beautiful run in from Livermore, squared across to Quinn in the middle, who heads home.
Hull City Goal

Header - Bottom Left

66'
A Huddlestone corner to the back post is headed down by Meyler, but Harris has put him off enough to misdirect that.
64'

Sagbo, who got the first Hull City goal, is replaced by Quinn, and that's all Steve Bruce's available substitutions used.
Hull City Substitution
63'
Hull City pass it round slowly along the back four as their manager prepares for a substitution.
61'
Brayford and Flynn continue to link up well down the right, but that cross in is an easy claim for Harper.
59'
Great chance for Flynn, and it's an equally impressive last-ditch tackle from Rosenior that prevents him from making proper contact with it.
58'
Well, it's not surprising that Sheffield United's fans are a little subdued now, but the team aren't quiet.
56'
Five shots on target - all have resulted in goals.
54'

GOAL! And what a turnaround. Plus what a great finish from Tom Huddlestone! He makes a great run through the middle, plays a one-two with Meyler, and lofts it into the net.
Hull City Goal

Left Footed - Bottom Left

51'

Fryatt has the ball in the net again, but he doesn't seem to have noticed the assistant referee flagging for offside.
50'
Well, what a difference a couple of well-timed substitutions can make. Hull have returned fired up and ready to crush the lower-league upstarts.
49'

GOAL! An immediate impact for Matty Fryatt! He scrambles it home from a corner that Sheffield United just can't clear.
Hull City Goal

Left Footed - Bottom Left

48'
Sensible defending from Harris in the face of the onrushing Aluko.
46'
A wayward attempt from Meyler from range, but nothing to give Howard anything to think about.
46'
So Hull kick off the second half and will be hoping that those changes bear fruit.
46'

Fryatt and Aluko are half-time substitutions for Hull, replacing Figueroa and Boyd.

45'+2
Andre Marriner blows his whistle, and Sheffield United go in at the break with a well-deserved lead. Can Hull respond?
45'+2
As we close the first half, the stats show that there have been three shots on target so far - and all of them have resulted in goals.
45'+1
Two additional minutes in this fascinating first half.
44'

GOAL! And an immediate response! Persistence from Jamie Murphy down the left, rounding Rosenior, and Scougall absolutely buries that into the net.
Sheffield United Goal

Left Footed - Top Right

42'

GOAL! And there it is - perhaps not quite deserved, but a well-worked goal from Sagbo. A neat exchange of passes leaves Livermore with the option of a diagonal ball forward into the box for the striker to stroke home.
Hull City Goal

Left Footed - Top Left

41'
Hull are creeping up the park a little more now, looking for that equaliser before half-time.
40'
Over a minute later and Hull manage to break that little sequence up.
38'
The Sheffield United fans are now meeting every completed pass from their team with a huge ovation.
37'
Not a great day so far for the Hull attacking options - Elmohamedy now gets an obvious handball given against him in the box.
36'
A little duel between Doyle and Huddlestone in the middle results in a free-kick to United. Hull deal with it, and it's out for a throw.
35'
Harper jogs forward a little to get some more distance on this next kick.
34'
Long balls exchanged by the goalkeepers as the forwards try to close them down.
32'
Figueroa hits it forward from the left towards the somewhat isolated Sagbo, who can't do anything with it and is offside to boot.
30'
Elmohamody wins a corner, taken by Boyd, and Sagbo throws himself towards it but no luck there.
29'
Sheffield United are dominant in possession in this opening half-hour.
28'
Sheffield United are looking much the better side, to be honest. They're pressing continually and Hull's attempts to pass it up from the back are broken up every time.
26'
Foul on the goalkeeper from that corner as Curtis Davies shoves into him. Free-kick.
26'
Tom Huddlestone has a try from range as well at the other end, but he's leaning backwards and it's always heading wide, assisted by a deflection. Corner.
24'
And a great chance for Scougall there! Great, patient passing build-up, and he decides to have a go from the edge of the box. He can't control the shot and it flies upwards, but it shows how confident these Sheffield United players are feeling.
23'
Scougall hurts himself with one of those challenges, though; he lands awkwardly when tackling Meyler. He's going to run it off.
22'
Hull are trying to compose themselves but Sheffield United are utterly buoyed by that goal and are closing down every single ball.
21'
The crowd are roaring now at both ends. This promises to be a very exciting game.
20'
Baxter, born in Bootle, celebrates by kissing his black armband.
Sheffield United Goal

Left Footed - Bottom Right

19'

GOAL! Jose Baxter makes the breakthrough! Brayford, who's been sparky all afternoon so far, gets the ball in from the right, and Baxter seizes on it at the near post for his tenth goal of the season.
17'
The game is developing into an entertaining spectacle, with plenty of counter-attacking as both sides defend stoutly and in numbers.
15'
Sagbo is offside, but the officials play the advantage as Sheffield United seize possession and move forward again.
14'

First booking of the afternoon goes to David Meyler, his first yellow card this year - and free-kick to United. They can't do anything with it; Hull are defending well, and they clear.
Hull City Yellow card

Hull

Sheffield Utd

13'
Sheffield United are very bright down the right - Brayford is making runs and creating space.
12'
Howard is looking solid at the moment, despite the pressure Hull are trying to put on him.
11'
Baxter takes Figueroa's boot to the forehead. Free-kick to Sheffield United.
9'
Good solid defending from Sheffield United, crowding out Elmohamady who runs out of room on that left flank.
8'
Hull are starting to put their foot on the ball a little more in midfield.
6'
First dangerous chance from Hull as Elmohamady crosses from the left, but Mark Howard claims.
5'
Sheffield United aren't cowed by the occasion, it seems. They're looking lively and pushing forward well.
4'
As a player, Steve Bruce won the trio of FA Cup semi-finals he competed in. Can he do the same as a manager?
3'
The shadows at Wembley are rather distracting - about a quarter of the pitch is flooded with sun, with the rest in darkness.
2'
A tentative start, with Sheffield United starting off with a long ball forward from John Brayford in the general direction of Ryan Flynn.
1'
So we begin the second FA Cup semi-final of the weekend. Yesterday's went to the wire. What will happen here?
16:05
The teams file out and prepare for the traditional handshake prior to the minute's silence in commemoration of the Hillsborough disaster. FA chairman Greg Dyke and mascots from both teams are holding wreaths. The whistle blows for the silence and the fans break into applause.
16:00
Wembley is bathed in sunshine - it's a lovely day in north-west London. The teams are lining up in the tunnel, and we're a few minutes away from kick-off.
16:00
Nigel Clough: "Our chances are slim because we're playing a team two divisions above us. With the quality the Premier League teams have, they are huge favourites. I can't see how anyone can argue with that. Maybe we get given a little bit more chance by people because of what we have done so far in the competition. But in 90 minutes, they have to score against us. It is so many years since a League One team got to this stage and I don't think one has got to the final."
15:55
Steve Bruce: "I'll be eternally grateful to them because the one thing it did was give me a chance in management. It put me on a learning curve, very quickly. I think I had six chief execs in one year and they were difficult times. That's an understatement. When I was younger, I was a nightmare. I let people down. You can do what you want on a Saturday. You can be off the wall, totally different. If you win on a Saturday, you can get away with it. If you get beat, then it's totally different. "
15:50
Hull City have won just two of the last 17 meetings in all competitions with Sheffield United (W2 D7 L8), but those two wins have come in the last three meetings (W2 D0 L1).
15:45
Beware Hull! Sheffield United have already knocked out four teams from higher divisions; Aston Villa (Round 3) and Fulham (Round 4) from the Premier League and Nottingham Forest (Round 5) and Charlton (Round 6) from the Championship. Prior to this season, the Blades had won none of their previous eight FA Cup matches against teams from a higher division (W0 D2 L6).
15:40
Hull City and Sheffield United have been drawn together on two previous occasions with the Blades progressing after a replay in 1983 and the Tigers going through after a replay in 2009. However, Sheffield United have lost their last four FA Cup semi-finals (Leicester 1961, Sheffield Wednesday 1993, Newcastle United 1998 and Arsenal 2003).
15:35
Defenders Bob Harris (thigh) and striker Jose Baxter (hip) have all shaken off their respective injuries in the last week to start. Youngsters Connor Dimaio, Otis Khan and Louis Reed were handed starts in the midweek win against Rotherham, but make way after Nigel Clough rested several of his senior players.
15:30
Bruce is without ineligible strike duo Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long, so starts with Sone Aluko up top, while Tom Huddlestone is fine to play after missing last weekend's win over Swansea with a back problem. Steve Harper starts in goal.
15:25
Hull City: Harper, Rosenior, Figueroa, Davies, Chester, Huddlestone, Meyler, Livermore, Boyd, Elmohamady, Sagbo. Subs: Jakupovic, Faye, Bruce, Koren, Quinn, Aluko, Fryatt. /// Sheffield United: Howard, Harris, Brayford, Maguire, Flynn, Doyle, Baxter, Collins, Coady, Scougall, Murphy. Subs: Long, Hill, Porter, McGinn, Davies, Freeman, Kennedy.
