    • - It wasn't a pretty game in the most part, but the final 5 minutes were sensational. Ajax Cape Town looked on course for the win, but another late equaliser for United saves them again. Thanks for joining us.
    • 90'+4 The final whistle goes! Bebe's late goal denies Ajax Cape Town a victory.
    • 90'+3 Cross comes into Billiat, but his header is well over the bar.
    • 90'+2 GOAL! Bebe scores for United! Vermeij plays a driven cross into the box, and the ball comes to the Portuguese striker, controls the ball and volleys into the net.
    • 90'+1 Powell forces a solid save from Roberts with a shot from just outside the box.
    • 90' So close to another goal for Ajax Cape Town. Amos comes rushing out of his goal, he misses the ball, but van Graan can't capitalise from a tight angle.
    • 88' Chance for United to equalise straight away. The ball falls to Tunnicliffe, but his shot is well saved by Roberts.
    • 87' GOAL! Ajax Cape Town score! They're celebrating like they've scored a cup final. It's a fantastic goal though. A corner is swung in and with a nonchalent flick of the heel from van Graan, the home side are ahead.
    • 86' Corner for Ajax Cape Town.
    • 85' Change for Ajax Cape Town as Van Graan replaces Fanteni.
    • 84' A promising attack from Ajax Cape Town comes to an end as Hlatswayo hits another wild shot.
    • 83' Ferdinand clears away a cross from the left.
    • 82' Powell plays a lovely little chipped pass when in a tight spot to Vemilj, but the young defender gives the ball away cheaply.
    • 81' Really scrappy now, with neither side getting a grip on the game.
    • 79' Ajax Cape Town look the more likely to score at the moment. They certainly look a lot more threatening.
    • 77' Another change for United, Kagawa comes off to be replaced by Berbatov.
    • 75' Fanteni shows great pace to latch on to a through ball, he hits a low shot which is well saved by Amos.
    • 74' Good header to clear away from Bebe, who was back defending the corner for United.
    • 73' Carrick is forced to head the ball behind for a corner to Ajax Cape Town.
    • 72' Bebe attempts to attack down the right but he miscontrols the ball, and it's out for a Ajax Cape Town throw.
    • 71' Corner is played in by Tunnicliffe, but Bebe's header is a poor one.
    • 70' Hopefully back to the football now! Bebe wins a corner after attacking down the right.
    • 69' Nick Powell makes his first appearance in a United shirt following his move from Crewe.
    • 67' Four United changes here. Bebe is coming on for Hernandez, Tunnicliffe replaces Valencia, Powell on for Scholes and Lingard is on for Anderson.
    • 66' Even the referee doesn't want to see all these substitutions at the moment. Ignoring the fourth official, and Ajax Cape Town come forward.
    • 65' Okwuosa on for Booth, Vilakazi is on for Losper.
    • 64' Kagawa with a nice touch in central midfield to get away from his marker.
    • 63' Dolly off Mokeke on, Shabalala comes on for Scott.
    • 62' All kinds of changes coming up for Ajax Cape Town...
    • 61' Kagawa come so close to scoring his first goal for United! Hernandez floats in a cross for the Japan international, but his free header goes wide. Should have scored.
    • 60' Ajax Cape Town attacking now. The young United defence at times are struggling to deal with the opposition defence.
    • 59' Valencia again looks the best attacking threat, but he can't get his cross through to anyone.
    • 58' Perhaps the new weather conditions are having an effect, but the game has suddenly got a little scrappy.
    • 57' Ajax Cape Town deliver a cross into the United box which is headed away.
    • 55' Weather update: It's grim now. No sun now - it's windy, and it's raining.
    • 54' Valencia tries to whip in a low cross and the ball is diverted over the bar for a United corner, which is used to keep possession.
    • 54' Dangerous cross comes in from the left from Blackett, well defended though.
    • 53' It's all United in this second half so far, we'll have a short stoppage though as one of the Ajax Cape Town players receives treatment.
    • 52' Kagawa and Scholes play a one-two, but the ball is cut out by the Ajax Cape Town defence.
    • 51' The corner is taken short but eventually a cross is delivered in to Wootton, but he can't direct a header on goal.
    • 51' Valencia attempts to get a cross in and the ball goes out for a corner.
    • 50' Neat through-ball played to Rusike but he starts his run too early and he's offside.
    • 49' A good start to the second half from United, who look more threatening in the opening 4 minutes than the entire first half.
    • 48' Valencia delivers a vicious cross in from the right, which is diverted behind for a corner, but it could have gone anywhere.
    • 47' Hernandez is played through on goal but he slips as he's about to take the shot and it's skewed wide.
    • 46' Roberts has replaced Westerveld in the Ajax Cape Town goal. No other changes for either side.
    • 46' We're underway for the second half.
    • 45' The referee blows his whistle to end the half. There's been little in the way of opportunities for either side, perhaps the best chance falling to Hernandez. Meanwhile, read the latest on whether Robin van Persie will join United. Wenger still fighting for Van Persie
    • 45' Long free kick played into the United box towards the notable aerial target of Booth, but it's too high, even for him.
    • 44' Carrick miscues a shot from just inside the box and it's dragging across goal - Hernandez may have just got a slight touch on the ball on the way out, but not enough to divert it into the net.
    • 43' Kagawa has the ball inside the box, plays a neat low pass to Anderson, but he's undecided about what to o next and the ball goes out for a corner.
    • 41' Great effort from Ruskie on the edge of the United box. His shot may have just shaved the crossbar on the way over the goal.
    • 40' Ruskie has a great chance to pull the trigger when in a good position, but he's undecided about what to do, and the ball is cleared by United.
    • 39' What do you think of the game so far? Impressed with Kagawa? Send your thoughts to me on Twitter. @rich_newman
    • 38' I've been impressed with Kagawa so far. Gets back and defends, and then always seems to make himself available to receive the ball. Could be a fantastic signing, who of course was exceptional for Dortmund last season.
    • 37' The game is opening up a little bit more, which from our point of view, is great. Ajax Cape Town coming forward now.
    • 36' Ajax Cape Town counter attack after United's corner, but the eventual shot is hit over the bar.
    • 35' First real chance on target from United. A cross comes in for Hernandez who heads towards goal, but Westerveld pulls off a superb save.
    • 34' Hlatswayo loves a shot from distance. His team-mates will be particularly disappointed that he hasn't looked to great at them so far.
    • 33' Inevitably, the ball is played towards Booth. But there was far too much tussling in the box and the referee blows for a free kick to United. Bit of a waste.
    • 32' United come close to conceding a penalty. Kiss of death from me about Vermijl - he commits a sill foul on the by-line which Ajax Cape Town will now take. Dangerous.
    • 31' This time Anderson plays the corner in towards Carrick, but he can't dig the ball out from beneath his feet.
    • 30' Decent play on the right from Valencia and Vermijl, who looks a promising player. The former wins a corner.
    • 28' Here come United again, trying to get the ball to Valencia, who has perhaps looked their best player.
    • 27' Anderson plays a cheeky corner towards Scholes to hit on the volley on the edge of the box for one of his trademark goals....but it's quickly closed down by the Ajax Cape Town defence, and the ball is eventually cleared.
    • 26' Possession is heavily in United's favour, but again, little end product. They've just won a corner though, the first of the game.
    • 25' Hlatswayo hits an optimistic shot from quite a distance on the right side of the pitch. Only one that was going, and it was no where near the goal.
    • 24' United look a little more keen to get the first goal now. Stepped up a gear.
    • 23' Kagawa slips a ball through to Anderson on the edge of the Ajax Cape Town box but he's crowded out by the defence.
    • 22' Kagawa starting to look more impressive. He's incredibly keen to get on the ball.
    • 21' United burst into life after that, Valencia very nearly delivering a killer ball into Hernandez.
    • 20' Billiat finds himself with the ball at the edge of the United box and suddenly space opens up for him. But he drags his shot wide when in a good position - looked like his weaker foot.
    • 19' And just after I type that, a Mexican wave begins. More excitement in the crowd unfortunately.
    • 18' Ajax Cape Town are playing very deep, almost like it's a competitive fixture. Hence the lack of attempts on goal.
    • 17' Valencia gets forward on the right, but just when he shapes to cross, he mis-controls the ball and it's out for a goal kick,
    • 15' Ferdinand very much the experienced head in the United defence today. Alongside him are players with very little first team experience.
    • 14' Lovely play from Valencia, weaving between the Ajax Cape Town defence. His run is finally stopped though, and Ajax Cape Town come away with the ball.
    • 13' "Needs a goal" this one. Or a shot - we should probably start with that. Ajax Cape Town will be happy with the way they've begun this match.
    • 12' Ajax Cape Town finally have a chance to have a feel of the ball. Even Booth is showing some fancy footwork.
    • 11' Kagawa hasn't seen too much of the ball so far. He's all over the pitch though.
    • 10' The sun is just coming out in Cape Town, where the weather has been a little rainy.
    • 9' Vermijl breaks down the right and into the box, but his cross towards Kagawa is long.
    • 8' Manchester United are happy to keep the ball, passing it around their defence at the moment.
    • 7' Scholes pinging some lovely long balls forward, but this one is overhit for Valencia and it's out for a goal kick to Ajax Cape Town.
    • 6' Meaty challenges flying in from both sides, Scholes, inevitably, gets involved with a few of his own.
    • 5' At the centre of Ajax Cape Town’s defence is 6ft 6in Matthew Booth. This from Wikipedia: “Due to his height, he is considered one of the most important players when meeting opponents with tall players.” So now you know.
    • 4' Decent build up play from United, but when the ball falls to Blackett on the left, his cross is over-hit.
    • 3' Slightly indecisive defending from United as Ajax Cape Town attack down the right and deliver a low cross into the box. Eventually the ball is cleared.
    • 2' You're not mistaken, that really is former Liverpool goalkeeper Sander Westerveld in goal for Ajax Cape Town.
    • 1' We're underway for the first half in Cape Town.
    • 14:02 The stadium are currently singing happy birthday to former South Africa president and general icon Nelson Mandela. He celebrated it on Wednesday.
    • 14:00 AJAX CAPE TOWN TEAM: Westerveld, Hlatswayo, Jenniker, Booth, Allie, Dolly, Losper, Scott, Billiat, Fanteni, Ruskie.
    • 13:57 The teams are out in Cape Town.
    • 13:56 Some news just coming to us is that United and England defender Chris Smalling looks to be out of action for around 10 weeks. He’s had to have an operation on a metatarsal injury. More information on that to follow.
    • 13:53 Summer signing Shinji Kagawa makes his first start for United this afternoon in a strong looking side.
    • 13:50 MANCHESTER UTD TEAM: Amos, Vermijl, Wootton, Ferdinand, Blackett, Valencia, Scholes, Carrick, Anderson, Kagawa, Hernandez.
