    • 02:35 Remember, plenty more LIVE football here on eurosport.yahoo.com, with tomorrow's highlight being Team GB's Olympic opener against Senegal. See you for that and much, much more. Until then, good night.
    • 02:30 So an entertaining match in Boston, but not a scoreline that Brendan Rodgers would have been hoping for with just a week to go before his side's Europa League qualifier.
    • 90+3' FULL TIME: LIVERPOOL 1-2 ROMA
    • 90' Three minutes of time added on to be played.
    • 89' Nobodys hanging back. Lamela drives into the Liverpool box, but Jones and Agger double up to get the ball to safety.
    • 88' Ooh. Adorjan involved in another niggly tackle there.
    • 85' Ball played into Lamela. Great shot from the tightest of angles.... HE'S HIT THE INSIDE OF THE POST... How unlucky for a man who has been the star player of this second half.
    • 84' Adorjan brings down Michael Bradley. He's going to get a stern talking to from the ref over that.
    • 83' He did the hard bit with ease there...
    • 82' More good work from Lamela for Roma. he creates loads of space for himself, but skies the shot.
    • 79' Flanagan breaks down the right and overhits his cross, which fortunatley falls to the feet of Pacheco. He shows excellent control to trap the ball and pull it back for Adam, who blasts it low and into th far corner.
    • 79' GOAL: LIVERPOOL 1-2 ROMA
    • 76' Another Roma sub: Marquinho is coming on or Osvaldo.
    • 74' In all the euphoria of the second Roma goal, Lucas snuck onto the pitch for Liverpool.
    • 73' Liverpool are looking totally outclassed now. Don't forget though, their line-up is hardly going to start the Premier League opener against West Brom in August. Roma's line-up is much closer to its strongest one.
    • 71' Roma sub: Valerio Verre replaces Tachtsidis
    • 69' It's the youngster Alessandro Florenzi. He gleefully fires home the ball from 10 yards out, Lamela having pulled the pall across the box for him.
    • 69' GOAL: LIVERPOOL 0-2 ROMA
    • 66' Pretty well it seems. Pacheco with a wonderful burst of pace, and he crosses in for SUSO... whose header is stopped well by the goalkeeper.
    • 64' So how will Liverpool's youngsters fare in chasing this game. Remember Adam Morgan did net in similar circumstances against Toronto last weekend...
    • 62' Erik Lamela's through-ball finds the advancing Michael Bradley, and the only American on the pitch here in Boston, scores the opening goal with a low shot across Jones' body.
    • 62' GOAL: LIVERPOOL 0-1 ROMA
    • 60' Three more changes for Liverpool here; Adorjan, Sama, Wilson and Sujo replace Enquique, Spearing, Shelvey and Skrel.
    • 58' Lovely through ball from Lamela... Rosi is advancing... ROSI SHOOTS, but blasts it over the bar at the near post. Should have scored.
    • 56' Adam taps the ball for SHELVEY!!! It's so close, and from 25 yards out too. He's had moe shots than the rest of the Liverpool team combined today.
    • 54' Liverpool have a free-kick in a useful position as Charlie Adam is brought down by Tachtsidis. Adam may well take it too.
    • 51' Shelvey has another effort at goal. He's got some confidence in his shooting today.
    • 48' GREAT STOP FROM BRAD JONES. Doesn't matter what you save it with, as long as you save it. It was the sub Bojan with the powerful shot.
    • 47' Roma bring on Lamela, Bojan, Romagnoli, Heinze and Florenzi.
    • 46' And a glut of changes for both sides... Jones, Suso, Agger, Flanagan, Morgan, Adam and Pacheco on for Liverpool.
    • 46' Second half begins
    • 01:26 Join us again for LIVE second-half commentary in around 15 minutes.
    • 01:26 An interesting half that developed as time ticked on, with Liverpool's young line-up gaining confidence and looking like the better side in attack and defence over the final 10 minutes of the period.
    • 45+1' HALF-TIME: LIVERPOOL 0-0 ROMA
    • 45+1' And that will be that then. The half-time whistle is blown.
    • 45' One minutes of stoppage time to be played.
    • 43' Oh Joe Cole, where have you been for the last 10 months? A sublime turn gives him another shooting chance, which Lobont denies him. Admittedly it's only pre-season, but if Rodgers gives the little guy a chance this year, he could be the spark Liverpool have been missing for two decades.
    • 40' LOBONT TO THE RESCUE FOR ROMA. Shelvey jinked past two defenders and had a bullet shot low down, which the Romanian saved brilliantly. Finally this game is gaining a heartbeat. The last 10 minutes have been pretty good.
    • 38' Quick feet from Cole a minute or so later, he feeds Shevley on the edge of the box.... but the youngster snatches at a shot and sends it wide.
    • 37' Cole goes down in the area. He wants a penalty, but the ref waves that appeal away.
    • 34' Bradley's low cross finds Osvaldo, who tries a deft flick towards goal and sees his shot flash past the post. Probably less than a yard wide there from the Argentina-born Italian.
    • 31' COLE HITS THE BAR... That came out of nothing. Aquilani's high ball from the halfway line evaded the entire Roma defence and gave Cole bags of time to turn and attempt to chip Lobont off his line. He so nearly took his chance, too.
    • 28' Luckily for him, Totti's retake is too low and too soft and Liverpool breathe a collective sigh of relief.
    • 28' Sterling goes into the book for that, in fact.
    • 27' Totti blasts it against the wall, but the referee orders a retake for encroachment by Sterling.
    • 27' Roma have a free-kick in a dangerous position. Foul by Jamie Carragher on Osvaldo.
    • 25' Corner to Liverpool. Joe Cole whips the ball towards the far post. POWERFUL HEADER FROM MARTIN SKRTEL... It's cleared just a yard from the line.... but the flag is up. Skrtel pushed Rosi in getting up for the header.
    • 22' The danger's not over... Shelvey gets the ball back, flicks it onto the advancing NATHAN ECCLESTON.... but the young striker flashes his shot just the wrong side of the post. Much better stuff from Liverpool.
    • 20' Shelvey with a super run, sidesteps Nicolas Burdisso as if he isn't there... TRIES A LOW SHOT and Lobont gets down to stop it. He needed to stretch, mind.
    • 17' Quick break from Roma... Pablo Osvaldo tries to slot one in under the keeper... GOOD STOP WITH HIS LEGS FROM GULACSI. That's twice he's had to come to Liverpool's rescue already.
    • 16' For about the first time in the game, Liverpool string more than two passes together. Sterling receives the ball from Aquilani and tries a shot from outside the box. Straight at goalkeeper Bogdan Lobont.
    • 15' Liverpool are keeping things very narrow up and down the pitch, and while this isn't giving them any attacking opportunities, it is at least enabling them to flood their own area with bodies when Roma inevitably make use of their own width.
    • 13' A Roma corner is totally wasted. Pjanic rolls the ball into Taddei, who tries a deft chip into the area but instead produces a quite awful cross come shot that troubles, well, nobody.
    • 10' That was a pretty impotent effort from Tachtsidis. No surprise to glance down at my stats and find that he scored only twice in 35 games during his loan spell from Genoa to Verona last season.
    • 9' Bad mistake from Jay Spearing, he's given Tachtsidis the ball 30 yards from goal and all the space in the world... The Greek must score... GOOD STOP FROM PETER GULACSI... Lopez snatches at the follow-up and blasts it over.
    • 6' First chance to see Raheem Sterling on the ball. Some great trickery as he cuts inside Aleandro Rosi, but his third touch is far too heavy and takes the ball well away from his left foot.
    • 5' Good run down the left for Roma from their Greek midfieler Panagiotis Tachtsiis. He pulls the ball back to Miralem Pjanic, who curls in a cross for the head of NICO LOPEZ... but he puts it wide. A good chance goes begging for the Uruguayan.
    • 3' On closer inspection, Taddei was very lucky to get away with that. Clearly taken down with his right arm.
    • 2' Immediate shout for handball against Rodrigo Taddei in the Roma box. He swears it hit his chest. Good pressure from Liverpool there, all stemming from an innocuous-looking ball in from Jose Enrique.
    • 1' A speculative effort from Jonjo Shelvey immediatley, but it's nothing more. He looks like he may have a point to prove to his new manager. 'Don't sell me boss' springs to mind.
    • 1' And we're underway...
    • 00:35 Counting down to kick-off now and at Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox (an asset of Liverpool owner John W Henry, of course), some of the locals have come to cheer on US international Michael Bradley, who starts in midfield for Roma after a superb season with Chievo last year.
    • 00:30 Zdenek Zeman, by contrast, has reinstigated his trademark 4-3-3 formation made famous during his last spell as Roma boss over a decade ago. Totti, Delvecchio and Paulo Sergio were the trio back then. Totti remains, with Osvaldo and Lopez alongside him.
    • 00:25 So youngster Raheem Sterling starts for Liverpool upfront while forgotten men of 2011/12 Joe Cole and Alberto Aquilani start; the latter against the club that sold him to Liverpool in the summer of 2009.
    • 00:20 LIVERPOOL TEAM: Gulacsi; McLaughlin; Skrtel; Carragher: Jose Enrique; Spearing; Shelvey; Aquilani; Cole; Eccleston; Sterling. SUBS: Jones; Flanagan; Agger; Adam; Suso; Morgan; Pacheco; Sama; Wilson; Lucas; Adorjan; Ward; Smith; Wisdom; Ibe.
    • 00:15 ROMA TEAM: Lobont; Rosi; Burdisso; Castan; Taddei; Bradley; Tachtsidis; Pjanic; Lopez; Osvaldo; Totti. SUBS: Svedkauskas; Jose Angel; Romagnoli; Florenzi; Marquinho; Lucca; Lamela; Verre; Bojan.
    • 00:10 After the 1-1 draw with Toronto last time out, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers would have hoped to have his midfield general Steven Gerrard back tonight and getting in some match practice ahead of next wek's Europa League qualifier against either Renova or Gomel. No luck though, as the England international still isn't quite fit.
    • 00:05 Well Liverpool have been pretty much the most talked-about Premier League side today, what with the failed bid of £10million plus Jonjo Shelvey for Swansea's Joe Allen, and the comments of Alan Pardew regarding striker Andy Carroll.
    • 00:00 Good evening (or should that be good morning), and welcome to LIVE coverage of Liverpool v Roma in a pre-season friendly from Fenway Park in Boston.
