    • - What did you make of the game? Let me know on Twitter (@grahamruthven).
    • - An entertaining game and a great way to mark Steven Gerrard's career at Liverpool. Good to see Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher back on the Anfield pitch and a decent work-out for Brendan Rodgers' side ahead of the new season.
    • 92' FULL TIME: Liverpool 2-0 Olympiakos
    • 91' Holebas slams his freekick into the top of the Liverpool wall and the chance is gone for the Greek side.
    • 90' Weiss runs through the Liverpool midfield before being hauled down on the edge of the box by Agger.
    • 88' Saviola has been lively since coming on, using the space on the edge of the box and trying to find the pass through the Liverpool backline.
    • 87' A mildly entertaining affair is fizzling out a bit here. The flow has completely gone with all the changes.
    • 85' Gerrard walks off the field to a standing ovation. Just a shame he couldn't get the goal to mark the big day.
    • 84' Liverpool sub: Simon Mignolet OFF, Brad Jones ON.
    • 83' Liverpool sub: Steven Gerrard OFF, Jay Spearing ON.
    • 82' Fejsa shoots at goal from 25 yards but despite moving from left to right in the air Mignolet gets behind it to gather.
    • 81' Gerrard slots through Fowler but the striker doesn't have the pace to get on the end of it, having to slide to make a connection. However he still manages to force the ball towards goal and the defender deflects it over.
    • 80' Olympiakos are pushing Liverpool back into their own half. This is the best we've seen of them this afternoon, but there's still no end product.
    • 78' Rodgers has thrown on Luis Alberto, signed for £7 million from Sevilla. Will he impress as much as Iago Aspas did in the first half?
    • 77' Saviola attempts to wriggle through the Liverpool backline, nutmegging Carragher in the process, but Johnson eventually clears the danger.
    • 76' The substitutions have disrupted the flow of this game, unsurprisingly, but I'd like to see the pace of the game restored once it all calms down.
    • 75' Suarez picks up the ball on the left side and tries to find Fowler but his pass is too long and Fowler looks at it going 'I'm not chasing that.'
    • 73' Fowler sprints on to the Anfield pitch to a rapturous reception. Can he find a goal to top off his appearance?
    • 72' Liverpool sub: Philippe Coutinho OFF, Robbie Fowler ON.
    • 71' Hold on! Fowler is on the sidelines. He's coming on!
    • 70' Enrique surges down the left but his shot is saved at close range by Roberto in the Olympiakos goal.
    • 69' Saviola tries to make things happen for his side on the edge of the box but the Argentine is crowded out and Liverpool come away with the ball.
    • 68' So how long do we reckon Fowler will get in this game? I reckon about five minutes. And In wouldn't bet against him scoring in that time.
    • 67' Olympiakos play the corner shot, but Holebas' cross into the box is claimed by Mignolet. Good goalkeeping.
    • 66' The visitors break forward through Weiss, who wins a corner for his side. This is the best opportunity Olympiakos have had this half!
    • 65' Suarez attempts a quick freekick in front of the Kop but it's cut out by the Olympiakos defence.
    • 63' Suarez appears to have received a good reception. His name is being sung by the Anfield crowd. They still love him, even if he doesn't love them.
    • 62' That was a nice goal by Henderson, who clipped a clever finish over the keeper but the ball from Sterling through was just as good.
    • 61' Liverpool subs: Iago Aspas, Kolo Toure, Joe Allen OFF, Luis Suarez, Jamie Carragher, Jordan Henderon ON.
    • 61' GOAL! Liverpool 2-0 Olympiakos (61 mins - Jordan Henderson). The midfielder scores with his second touch! I haven't even had time to type in the subs.
    • 60' Sterling is released through on goal but from a one on one position he lobs his effort just wide of the target. That was close!
    • 59' Luis Suarez and Jamie Carragher are getting stripped and ready to come on. Probably a wise move by Rodgers to bring on the striker alongside a legend like Carragher.
    • 58' Olympiakos make three subs, with Javier Saviola coming on for Kostas Mitroglou the most notable.
    • 57' Coutinho is finding a lot of the ball out on the left side but the final ball is missing again. That's been the story of the game for Liverpool.
    • 56' Liverpool once again plot their way through the Olympiakos backline but Coutinho's cross is too deep and the Greek side comes away with the ball.
    • 55' Luis Saurez is also warming up. If he comes on the reception will be mightily interesting!
    • 54' Coutinho is sent through on goal by Enrique, dropping the shoulder and shifting his body weight to create a yard of space, but his shot is weak and into Roberto's hands.
    • 53' A round an applause and cheers goes round Anfield at the sight of Fowler warming up. It's like the good 'ol days.
    • 52' Coutinho dances through a number of challenges in the box, eventually going down but referee Halsey waves play on. Probably the correct decision. Looked to go down too easily.
    • 51' Once again Sterling breaks down the right side but his pass into Aspas is cut out by Siovas.
    • 50' Sterling throws in a few flicks and tricks down the wing, beating his man, but his cross is too strong for anyone in the box.
    • 49' Gerrard tries to tease a pass through for Coutinho but there's a little too much weight on the ball, pushing the Brazilian a little too wide.
    • 48' A slow start to the second half. Liverpool have yet to get their passing from the first half going again.
    • 47' Jamie Carragher and Robbie Fowler are on the bench for Liverpool today. Will we get to see a couple more legends on the pitch?
    • 46' Vladimir Weiss, the former Rangers and Manchester City winger, has come on for Olympiakos for the second half.
    • 45' The second half has started at Anfield!
    • - What have you made of the first half at Anfield? Has Iago Aspas shown enough to suggest he could be a big player for Liverpool? Are Liverpool missing Luis Suarez? Let me know on Twitter (@grahamruthven).
    • - Good half for Liverpool. I would like to see Olympiakos offer a litle bit more going forward in the second half but the pressure from the home side has been relentless.
    • 46' HALF TIME: Liverpool 1-0 Olympiakos
    • 45' An additional minute of stoppage time to be played at the end of the first half.
    • 44' Encouraging signs from Liverpool, particularly from Allen and Aspas, who have looked eager to impress in front of a sold out Anfield crowd.
    • 43' Maniatis whips a ball into the Liverpool box from deep but Mignolet comes off his line for a rare touch of the ball.
    • 42' Sterling picks up the ball inside the area and tries to find his captain but the backline reads the play and clears. Slightly predictable. Would've been better shooting himself.
    • 41' Olympiakos are retreating deeper and deeper, leaving Mitroglou isloated on his own up front. It's a lonely shift for him today.
    • 40' Gerrard almost latches on to a through ball, but his run from deep doesn't quite take him onto the ball and the keeper comes out and collects at his feet.
    • 39' Liverpool should really have scored more than once in this half. They've dominated and created a number of good chances in front of goal.
    • 37' Gerrard ignores the shouts of 'SHOOOOT' and whips a cross into thebox for Allen, but the midfielder mistimes his header and glances wide. He could've had a hat-trick!
    • 36' Gerrard launches a long pass forward to Coutinho, switching the play. If I say that was Paul Scholes-esque will that go down well with Liverpool fans?
    • 35' Aspas, Coutinho and Sterling have switched positions, with Aspas now on the right, Coutinho on the right and Sterling through the centre.
    • 34' Gerrard fires at goal from 25 yards but his effort collects a deflection on its way through to the goalkeeper.
    • 33' Lucas releases Aspas down the left wing with a wonderful ball from a deep position but the Spaniard can't pick out a pass and the chance is gone.
    • 32' Glen Johnson cuts inside onto his left foot, but flashes his shot just past the post. We've seen a few of those go in!
    • 31' Liverpool are definitely the sharper of the two sides today, which is slightly peculiar as Olympiakos start their season only two days after Liverpool. Both teams should be well into their pre-season by now.
    • 30' Agger and Mignolet almost get themselves in a muddle, conceding possession on the edge of the box. However Mitroglou curls his effort wide.
    • 28' Sterling looks lively for Liverpool. He's putting pressure on the Olympiakos backline, who look a little bit rattled this afternoon.
    • 27' Somehow Aspas still hasn't scored! The ball fell to him about four yards out, back to goal, but his turning volley was saved by the legs of Megyeri. He should really have a goal to his name by now.
    • 26' Aspas has impressed thus far. His flick for Allen's first chance, before he finally scored, was incredible. He just threw an audacious back heel flick over two defenders to release Allen. It was quite something.
    • 25' Olympiakos line up a freekick on the edge of the box but Dominguez plants his weak effort into the middle of the Liverpool wall.
    • 24' Olympiakos have given away possession in dangerous areasa number of times today and this time they were punished, with Aspas linking up well with Enrique and Allen to find the opener.
    • 23' GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Olympiakos (23 mins - Joe Allen). The home side find the breakthrough after good play by Aspas!
    • 22' Great chance for Allen, who finds the ball at his feet on the volley a matter of yards out, but he fires over. Should have scored, really.
    • 21' Andreas Samaris winds up a shot from about 30 yards but his effort dribbles harmlessly wide, to jeers from the Anfield crowd.
    • 20' Joel Campbell, on loan at Olympiakos from Arsenal, surges forward but is flattened by Agger, who comes away with the ball. Awkward.
    • 19' Liverpool mount a counter attack, breaking forward through Allen, but after working the ball to Sterling Olympiakos get back in time and snuff the move out.
    • 18' This time Aspas executes a wonderful turn inside the box to create a couple yards of space but Medjani gets back in time to make the challenge.
    • 17' Aspas breaks down the left wing, working his way into the box, but upon turning back on his marker he can't find a pass and Olympiakos punt it clear.
    • 15' Gerrard attempts to thread through Jose Enrique but the Spanish left back didn't read the idea and possession is mopped up.
    • 14' Talking of Lucas, this could be a huge season for the Brazilian. If he can find the form he was displaying before that knee injury he will be crucial to Liverpool's style of play.
    • 13' Alejandro Dominguez is down on the turf after a meaty challenge by Lucas in the centre circle. He looks to be okay, just taking a breather.
    • 11' Finally the visitors get the chance to take control of the ball, but Liverpool cut out the attacking move and come forward once again through Allen.
    • 10' Liverpool are looking good going forward. Plenty of possession but perhaps need a little bit more creativity in and around the box. Calling Coutinho?
    • 9' Gerrard collects the ball 30 yards, to a chorus of 'SHOOOOOT,' to which he obliges. Unfortunately his effort goes well over the bar.
    • 8' This isn't just a big day for Gerrard but for referee Mark Halsey, who takes charge of his last match in the middle. He takes up his role as a TV pundit tomorrow.
    • 7' Daniel Agger is muscled off the ball by Kostas Mitroglou, but the referee calls it back for a freekick and the Olympiakos striker fires wide anyway.
    • 6' Looks like Liverpool are using a fluid 4-3-3 system, with Aspas, Coutinho and Sterling the front three.
    • 5' Huge chance for Iago Aspas, after slack possession from Olympiakos in the centre, but the new number nine sees his shot smothered.
    • 4' Liverpool creates the first real chance, working a short corner to Joe Allen. However the Welsh midfielder flashes his effort across the face of goal.
    • 3' This is a testimonial so there a few rules are relaxed, allowing Robbie Fowler to take a place on the bench. Who knows? If Luis Suarez leaves he could be getting a call from Rodgers.
    • 2' Of course Gerrard's testimonial comes against the team he scored that magnificent goal in 2004, taking Liverpool through the group stages of the Champions League, a competition they went on to win that year.
    • 1' Slightly behind schedule, we're under way at Anfield!
    • 12:45 And now the obligatory rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone. Are we just ignoring the kick-off time here?
    • 12:43 Finally, the teams are out and Gerrard emerges from the famous Anfield tunnel last, accompanied by his family. Great reception, as you would expect, for the Liverpool captain.
    • 12:42 Brendan Rodgers must be giving his team a little extra of that famous team talk, because we're still waiting for the teams here.
    • 12:40 TEAM NEWS: Liverpool - Mignolet; Enrique, Agger, Toure, Johnson; Allen, Lucas, Gerrard; Coutinho, Aspas Sterling. /// Olympiakos - Megveri; Holebas, Siovas, Medjani, Salino; Dominguez, Fejsa, Maniatis; Campbell, Mitroglou, Samaris.
    • 12:35 Good afternoon and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE coverage of Steven Gerrard's testimonial between Liverpool and Olympiakos!
  • Summary

    • 81' Gerrard slots through Fowler but the striker doesn't have the pace to get on the end of it, having to slide to make a connection. However he still manages to force the ball towards goal and the defender deflects it over.
