    • 90+1' GOAL FOR ARGENTINA! Lavezzi passes to Messi and he dashes to the edge of the box before easing a shot across Victor and into the corner of the net. He is booked for his celebrations, but that is surely the winner.
    • 89' Going to be two minutes added to this one.

    • 84' Lavezzi tries to take on David Luiz, but the ball bobbles through to Victor in the Brazil goal.
    • 83' Lavezzi is looking for Messi. Poor pass to the Barca player, who is easily muscled out of matters by Thiago Silva.
    • 82' Lovely little bit of play by Alves. He picks out Robinho, but the striker has his pocket picked before Lavezzi runs the ball out of play at the other end.
    • 81' Lavezzi bumps Elias late and Brazil have a free-kick. Still time for a winner.
    • 80' Fenerbahce's Andre Santos is running around sporting a mowahk haircut, which is eye-catching. Probably better than the football.
    • 79' Robinho is wearing the captain's armband. Goes for power from 25 yards. Well over the bar! Chance gone for Brazil. Seems to be the story of the night.
    • 78' Ronaldinho having a laugh over that before Messi attempts to cut a dash through the middle, but Alves is over to make the intervention.
    • 77' We have a man guilty of a pitch invasion. He manages to outrun the local police, which has given us some excitement in a pretty drab second period.
    • 76' Alves decides to have a go from 30 yards, but over the bar. Just too high.
    • 74' A lack of invention, but Brazil have a free-kick after Andre tumbles under pressure from Burdisso.
    • 73' Andre replaces the diving Neymar, who has played well this evening. Would be nice to see him cut out the dives right enough.

    • 66' Elias decides to go in late on Messi, but Argentina fail to benefit from the free-kick before Neymar is deemed to be offside at the other end.
    • 65' At the other end, Messi can do likewise. He goes for the chip, but David Luiz stabs the ball clear.
    • 64' Little swerving attempt by the AC Milan playmaker from 25 yards. Skips off the deck twice before landing in the hands of Romero.
    • 63' Brazil have another free-kick. Ronaldinho is smiling as he lines this one up from 25 yards out.
    • 62' Lavezzi tries to cut open the Brazilian defence from Messi's pass, but he mishits the shot and the ball is cleared by the yellow shirts.
    • 61' Can't believe Zanetti is 37. Running around out there like he is just starting his career. A tremendous engine.
    • 60' Robinho fires a shot through the legs of Zanetti! Saved by Romero, but the offside flag is up against the striker.

    • 56' Mascherano is booked for a late chop on Ronaldinho. First booking of this friendly.

    • 54' Thumping shot by Alves. Just over the bar from full 22 yards. That has some sting on it.

    • 43' Ronaldinho plays in Alves. He fires in a shot, but can't get the desired pace and that is an easy enough take for Romero.

    • 41' David Luiz appeared to hammer Messi there, but no foul given. Seemed a strange decision. Brazil with 11 shots on goal compared to six by Argentina.
    • 40' No bookings in this friendly so far, but that doesn't mean it has not been competitive. Far from it.
    • 39' Dani Alves getting well forward as per usual. Tries to dance down the right flank, but he is ushered out of play by Di Maria after failing to control the ball.
    • 38' Ramires tries to make Argentina pay for some sloppy defensive work, but he chips over the bar from distance. Could have taken that on further.
    • 37' Heading for the break, and this is as entertaining a 0-0 draw as you will get in a friendly.
    • 36' Messi decides to try his luck from 28 yards! So close. Ball spinning and swerving from the volley. Hits the post and bounces wide. Almost the opener from Messi.
    • 35' Ronaldinho drills in a free-kick. Comfortable height for Romero, but he opts to punch rather than catch. Ball is out of the area and back with Argentina.
    • 34' Neymar wins a free-kick on the edge of the Argentina box under pressure from Pareja. Chance to work the goalkeeper.
    • 33' Offside flag goes up against Higuain as he raced away from David Luiz. His chip is held by Romero.
    • 32' Neymar takes a tumble in the box. Bit of diving. Really looking for the dive. Nothing doing from the referee.
    • 31' All very delicately poised. Ball back with Alves and he is happy to go all the way back to his keeper Victor to retain possession.
    • 30' Messi and Pastore try to split the Brazilian defence. They all love one-twos, but too much pace on the final return pass and the ball rolls out of play.
    • 29' The locals in Qatar not used to this level of fare. They seems interested enough, even if the majority of the Brazil and Argentina fans are sitting together in the stands.
    • 28' Santos wins some space out wide. Takes one look at the Argentina box. Fires in the cross, but Romero comes racing out to claim the ball. Both teams committed to attack out there.
    • 27' Couple of fine stops from Victor as Higuain is judged to be offside in the Brazil box. A header is clawed out by Victor before he saves a shot from close-range.
    • 26' Thiago Silva takes no chances knocks the ball out and Argentina have a corner.
    • 25' Higuain picks up a delightful little ball from Messi. Chips into the heart of the box, but fine header from David Luiz to clear the danger.

    • 23' It has been a decent opening 23 minutes. Argentina look a different side from the one that was hammered by Germany in the quarter-finals of the World Cup. Look a lot more organised.
    • 22' Play rages from end to end. Di Maria is matched by Thiago Silva as Argentina win a corner before Messi screws a shot wide of goal from distance.
    • 21' Ball breaks to Ronaldinho, who is free in the area. He opts for the backheel, but can't get enough pace on the ball as Romero saves from five yards.
    • 20' Mascherano almost prods the ball into his net after delightful play with Neymar and Santos. Brazil cutting loose at the moment.
    • 19' Alves throws in a free-kick. David Luiz rises in a crowed area. He gets above Heinze, but can only nod the ball over the box.
    • 18' So unlucky for Brazil! David Luiz plays in Dani Alves after the quick corner, but his shot thumps back off the bar before bouncing to safety. So close to the opening goal from inside the area.
    • 17' Elias hammers in a shot from a pass by Ronaldinho. Deflection and Brazil have a corner.
    • 16' Pastore is fed by Heinze, but he can't get the ball under control quickly enough and Brazil regain possession. The pitch is looking immaculate in the middle of the desert.
    • 15' A fairly even start. Brazil opened brighter, but Argentina are fairly snapping into the tackles. Enjoying more possession.
    • 14' Alves looking to bound forward down his right flank. Tosses a lovely cross into the feet of Neymar, but his first touch is heavy and the ball flies behind the goal. Goal-kick to Argentina.
    • 13' Ronaldinho flies into a thumping late tackle on Javier Mascherano. Usually expect that kind of challenge to come from the robust midfielder.
    • 12' Argentina growing more and more in confidence. Messi being closed down quickly. Pretty obvious who Brazil see as the main threat.
    • 11' Messi picks out a dancing Di Maria. Beats two men, but he hesistates too long and prods a shot well wide of the goal. Messi was looking for the return pass, but on we go.
    • 10' Messi tries to uncork a shot from distance, but he is tackled by David Luiz as he prepared to pull the trigger. First sign of danger from Barcelona genius Messi.
    • 9' Andre Santos picks out Neymar. He can't control the ball, before Santos flicks a weak shot into the hands of Romero.
    • 8' Both sides fairly bombing up and down the park. Brazil have not lost to Argentina in their previous five meetings.
    • 7' Lovely play involving Ronaldinho and Robinho before a pass just fails to pick out the run of Neymar, who cannot get on the end of it. Good goalkeeping by Romero who dives to collect.
    • 6' Zanetti dances down the right flank. Comes inside, but his shot is held by Victor, who gets down sharply to smother the effort from 22 yards. Decent play by Zanetti.
    • 5' Ronaldinho whacks his free-kick straight at the wall. Ball breaks back to Andre Santos, but he can only thump a shot wide of the goal. Disappointing end to that move.
    • 4' Neymar caught by Pareja after some nifty footwork on the edge of the Argentina box. Chance for Brazil.
    • 3' Brazil have started brightly. Passing the ball very well, but Argentina can break. Di Maria burst into the box. Caught by Alves, but the referee waves play on.
    • 2' Qatar bidding to host the World Cup in 2022 and hope this shows off their worthiness as a potential host. Ronaldinho throws over a cross, but easily clasped by Romero.
    • 1' Brazil get this one off and running in front of 40,000 home fans in Doha.
