    Time:90'
    • Germany
    • Brazil
    • 90+4' But that's it. A decent first half followed by a goal-ridden second and Germany finally defeat Brazil after almost 20 years of frustration.
    • 90+3' Neuer could have done better for that one, but in fairness, so could the rest of the side. Very casual play by a midfield who apparently already had their eyes on the post-match shower.
    • 90+2' Germany were happy to pass the additional time away, but they switch off and here's Neymar.. HE SCORES!
    • 90+1' Boateng clears an early cross into the German box.
    • 90' Three minutes added time to be played at the end of this friendly.
    • 89' The rampant home side almost slip through again but Cesar gobbles up the ball into the area.
    • 88' Another double change by Germany, and it's their two best players in my book coming off to a well deserved standing ovation in Stuttgart. Gotze and Hummels are replaced by Jerome Boateng and Cacau, the Brazillian-born German international.
    • 87' A rather blatant attempt to fabricate a free-kick by Robinho is ignored by the Hungarian official.
    • 86' Andre Santos and Robinho come off for Brazil, Renato Augusto and Luis Gustavo their replacements.
    • 85' Late switch for the hosts, Simon Rolfes will take the place of Schweinsteiger.
    • 84' Hummels' long pass triggers a foot race between Lucio and Gotze, with the Brazillian skipper JUST winning out and sending the threat away.
    • 83' Robinho and Ramires combine to take Brazil forward, but Alves loses possession for the away side.
    • 82' Gotze picks out Kroos who is clean through.... but offside.
    • 81' Three goals in six German appearances for the youngster now. The kids are alright in Germany, it would seem! But then, you already knew that...
    • 80' Schweinsteiger hustles Andre Santos as he attempts to clear for Brazil.... and he wins it! Cuts back to Schurrle... AND IT'S IN!
    • 78' Germany bring it forward, but opt to take it right back and start again on the opposite side. They're understandably in no rush at the moment.
    • 77' Fred comes on for Pato, making it two changes each with four remaining.
    • 76' Germany eventually take their corner. It's Kroos, and it's headed away.
    • 75' Kroos whips in the free-kick and Cesar punches clear, winding himself on the way down in the process. Treatment time in Stuttgart.
    • 74' Ganso, on the pitch for a matter of minutes, earns the game's first caution for a lunge on Muller. It wasn't as bad as Fernandinho's pair of challenges in the first half...
    • 73' Silva heads away the threat posed by Muller.
    • 72' Klose gets inside Thiago Silva on the right flank and it looks like the defender fouls him. Nothing given. The home fans wanted another penalty, but I think the initial contact was just outside the area anyway.
    • 71' And Robinho powers it the other side of Neuer. Perhaps this isn't over after all?
    • 70' PENALTY TO BRAZIL! Lahm's error allows Alves to nip in and the left-back brings him down. Stonewall!
    • 69' Fernandinho comes off for Ganso, who was only dropped from the starting XI, it seems, not the squad as initially reported.
    • 68' Brazil have a mountain to climb now. A frenzied eight-minute spell sees them go from 0-0 to two down. Germany deserve their lead, it must be said, despite having a few scares themselves.
    • 67' GOTZE MAKES IT 2-0! He stays onside to recieve a low central ball from Muller after a neat German play. He rounds Cesar and nets his first goal for his country in his first start!
    • 65' Fernandinho recieves the ball on the central edge of the area but is forced away by three white shirts and the attack fizzles out.
    • 64' Meek shouts for handball as Germany break into the visitors' area, referee rightfully gives nothing.
    • 63' Brazillian corner is eventually beaten away.
    • 62' Brazil almost reply immediately as Andre Santos' cross-shot hybrid comes close to the goal.
    • 61' It will be Schweinsteiger stepping up to take this one...................... GOAL!
    • 59' PENALTY TO GERMANY! Kroos tripped by Lucio inside the box after great play by Klose and Gotze!
    • 58' Schurrle makes his first real impact on the game with good manouvering out on the left before cutting it into the box to Gotze, whose close range shot would have been on target but for a great last-ditch block!
    • 57' Muller is fouled by Andre Santos inside the centre circle. Bit of a light decision to be honest.
    • 56' Another Trasche cross is headed out by Lucio, the two then repeat the routine seconds later. The right-back has been the only German with a few decent deliveries from out wide to his name thus far.
    • 54' Germany corner is wasted.
    • 53' Muller looks to get onto a long ball on the break but Cesar sprints out to clear. Germany remain in possession and LAHM CUTS INSIDE TO DRIVE... it bounces up onto the face of Cesar and Brazil get away with that one!
    • 51' Trasche's cross is volleyed away by Thiago Silva.
    • 50' Schweinsteiger has a crack, no dice.
    • 49' Ramires picks out Alves with a good raking lofted pass, and the right-back torments Schurrle but is unable to create anything substantial.
    • 48' Neuer eventually clears some further Brazillian pressure.
    • 47' Ramires wins possession in his own defensive third and embarks on a trademark stride forward, great pass to unlock Pato whose chip over Neuer.... just bounces wide of the far post! Great start to the 2nd period!
    • 46' And here we go with the second half.
    • 46' Double change at the break for Germany: Gomez and Podolski are off, replaced by veteran Miroslav Klose and young Leverkusen striker Andre Schurrle.
    • 45+1' And we don't even get 30 seconds of stoppage time at the end of the half. Rightly so, the game has been at a good pace with minimal breaks in play. Half-time and it remains goalless.
    • 45' ...and Neymar... goes wide from a tight angle.
    • 44' Trasch's shot from distance ricochets off Silva and Germany have a corner. Germany then waste a corner and Brazil can break...
    • 43' Kroos with another overzealous centre, goal kick Brazil. Germany's one weakness so far tonight has been trying to get those crosses into the box.
    • 42' Kroos has it in the area, he goes back to PODOLSKI! His drive hits Brazillian legs.
    • 41' Andre Santos this time with the impressive dribble into the box, but he tries to take on one player too many, and that player is the impressive Hummels.
    • 40' Gotze wins a corner off Thiago Silva. Kroos with the delivery but it's too heavy for Badstuber at the far post.
    • 39' Pato does brilliantly to beat three, but his 20-yard effort is poor. He had options for a final ball, too.
    • 38' Kroos goes for the dipping shot inside the near post but it's just over the bar.
    • 37' Fernandinho brings Muller down on the edge of the penalty area. Another late challenge worthy of a booking gets none, surely due to the friendly nature of this one.
    • 36' Alves's dinked cross has to be headed out for a corner by Trasch. Santos heads Neymar's corner at goal but it's blocked and away.
    • 35' Gomez to Podolski, his shot inside the Brazil area is blocked by a good sliding interception from Lucio.
    • 34' It's going to be Alves with the piledriver... and Neuer can only bat it away! Danger is cleared.
    • 33' Santos' ball into the 'D' is dummied by Neymar but Badstuber gets it away, only as far as a free-kick conceded by the hosts about 35 yards out.
    • 32' Muller hits one low and hard but it's blocked before it can travel anywhere. The attack ends courtesy of the offside flag.
    • 31' Hummels is at full stretch to thwart another attempt to unlock the German defence. Fernandinho gives away a silly foul on Gotze which surely would have been our first yellow had this been a competitive game.
    • 30' Andre Santos gives possession away trying to nutmeg Kroos, but Gotze and Muller get in each other's way and it's a goal kick to Brazil.
    • 29' Nice tekkers from Loew as he juggles the ball which rolls into his technical area for a throw-in.
    • 28' Alves and Ramires eventually cut out another run of home passes and win a free-kick to truly ease the pressure.
    • 27' Podolski's back to muscle Ramires off a long cross-field pass.
    • 26' Trasch's early cross is hoofed clear. Germany building another steady spell in possession here.
    • 25' Muller latches onto a stellar Hummels ball through the centre but his first touch lets him down and he ends up giving away a cheap free-kick once the opportunity escapes him.
    • 24' Well that was actually going for the far top corner, but Neuer sees it the entire time and catches.
    • 23' Ramires wins a foul off Hummels on the left flank, which Neymar is preparing to deliver.
    • 22' Trasch gets a 1-2 back from Gotze on the right wing and pulls it back for Kroos... whose shot sails wide. Great play from Loew's side there.
    • 21' Neymar dances around Trasch on the left-hand side of the box and attempts to tee up a team-mate but it's Hummels once again intercepting and Neuer is able to gobble it up.
    • 20' Kroos' cross-cum-shot is taken down by Cesar. Counts as a shot on target.
    • 19' Brazil's attacking trio work together as Robinho picks out Neymar's run on the left but his cross is a little too high for Pato. Dani Alves whips it back in and Hummels is forced to concede a corner. It's the Dortmund defender again to clear an eventual low diagonal pass into the goalmouth.
    • 18' Muller's first-time cross flies over to the opposite wing and Podolski is unable to keep it on.
    • 16' Robinho sends Andre Santos down the left... he opts for the low cross and it takes the leg of Neuer to prevent a blue sock tapping that in. Brazil get their first corner but nothing comes of it.
    • 15' Neymar gets back to cut out the lengthy German spell on the ball.
    • 14' Slick possession from the Germans but they're unable to find a way into the Brazillian box just yet.
    • 13' Kroos' shot from distance is closed down by Andre Santos.
    • 12' More like it from the visitors. A counter-attack sees Robinho attempt to find Pato but it comes to nothing.
    • 11' Brazil finally string five passes together, but it's to get out of their own half!
    • 10' Andre Santos concedes a free-kick just inside his own half. Germany play the free-kick backwards before slowly building up from scratch.
    • 9' Muller is unable to get onto Bayern Munich team-mate Lahm's ball into the area.
    • 8' Kroos' cross is headed clear by Thiago Silva.
    • 7' Gotze has a big role to fill, coming in for a rested Mesut Ozil, but he looks up to the task.
    • 6' GOTZE! Shot inside the box parried by Cesar! Germany off to a decent start here.
    • 5' Trasch almost breaks free on the right but Hummels' ball is just beyond him.
    • 4' Speculative shot by Schweinsteiger goes nowhere near Julio Cesar's goal.
    • 3' Gotze wins our first corner of the game off fellow first-time starter Ralf. He takes the set piece himself and it eventually leads to a second, which sails past the crowded danger zone.
    • 2' First attempt at a penetrating ball into the area comes from Brazil, but it's safely passed back to Neuer by Hummels.
    • 1' And we're underway at the Mercedes-Benz Arena. Brazil kick-off.
    • 19:45 The sides are on the pitch, both national anthems observed exceptionally, and we're ready to go! The first clash of football's superpowers in six years is moments from kick-off.
    • 19:40 That should have read Paraguay, not Venezuela! Video highlights of Brazil's win over the Venezuelans appears to have taken over my mind...
    • 19:35 We're approaching the tenth anniversary of Germany and Brazil's first World Cup clash, in the final at Japan & South Korea. Things have changed since Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Rivaldo tore the Germans apart en route to their record fifth WC title. It is now Joachim Low's side who play with the style of Brazillian glory sides of yesteryear while Menezes' men reel from a Copa America exit at the hands of Venezuela.
    • 19:30 All eyes are on two gifted young forwards tonight. Mario Gotze will earn his 7th cap after a terrific start to the new season with Bundesliga champions Dortmund. Meanwhile, Neymar will play despite a sore throat for the visitors. Coach Mario Menezes omits Ganso from the squad entirely.
    • 19:25 TEAMS: Germany - Neuer, Träsch, Hummels, Badstuber, Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Kroos - Müller, Götze, Podolski, Gomez. /// Brazil - Julio Cesar, Daniel Alves, Lucio, Thiago Silva, André Santos, Ralf, Ramires, Fernandinho, Robinho, Pato, Neymar.
    • 19:20 Stuttgart's newly-redeveloped Mercedes-Benz Arena hosted six games during the 2006 World Cup, including England's 1-0 win in the second round against Ecuador and the hosts' third-place playoff victory over Portugal.
    • 19:15 Indeed, the samba boys dominate this fixture in the head-to-head, winning 12 out of 20 with Germany victorious in just three and five draws.
    • 19:10 Friendly it may be, but tonight presents the Germans an opportunity to defeat Brazil for the first time since 1993. Team news is on its way.
    • 19:05 Good evening and welcome, Germany v Brazil coverage from Stuttgart here with kick-off at 19:45.
    • 17:45 Welcome to our LIVE coverage of Germany's friendly against Brazil - we'll be here with all the build-up from around 7pm BST.
