    • 86' Rooney feeds Barkley on the edge of the box but Gonzalez gets across to make a great last-ditch challenge.
    • 85' Lots of flag waving from the Chile support. The visitors have been impressive without getting out of third gear here.

    • 83' CHILE sub: Wigan's Beausejour replaced Fuenzalida.
    • 81' Hodgson looks a bit frustrated on the England bench. It's not been one of his finest moments with England, that's for sure.

    • 78' Rooney glides a raking ball out to the flank towards Townsend but it's well cut out. Not much happening out there at the moment.
    • 77' ENGLAND sub: Ross Barkley on Lallana. A decent first appearance from Lallana who grew as the match wore on.
    • 76' Chile's fans giving it the 'Ole's' as their side knock it about with real class.

    • 65' The corner is punched only as far as Johnson who sears a 30 yarder over the top.

    • 63' Baines fires in the free kick... deflected off the wall and out for a corner.
    • 62' Free kick in a dangerous position on the right for the hosts...
    • 61' Townsend races through the gears and immediately offers something new for England. The pass to Rooney doesn't come off but Wilshere picks up the ball and is fouled on the edge of the box.
    • 60' Isla limps off and is replaced by Gonzalo Jara of Nottingham Forest.
    • 59' Thoughts on Rodriguez's England bow? A frustrating night for the Southampton forward. He struggled to impose himself on the game and some of his best moments came tracking back.
    • 58' Lallana fires the corner deep into the Chile six-yard box and Bravo comes and gathers under immense pressure. Good hands from the keeper who takes a bit of a knock.
    • 57' DOUBLE England sub: Andros Townsend and Chris Smalling on for Rodriguez and Jones.
    • 56' Cahill booked for England.
    • 55' Another sublime attack from the visitors. Sanchez is again the architect, waiting for the run on the overlap before supplying the pass down the left. • 51' Superb play by Rooney and Lallana down the right. The United man picks out the overlapping run from the Southampton playmaker who attempts to cut it back to Rooney, but it's blocked at the last moment. Great defending.
    • 50' Sanchez is looking sharp for Chile. The Barca man is making some intelligent runs into the channels and really working those England defenders.
    • 49' The ball drops for Lampard but as he winds up the volley it's nicked off his toe.
    • 48' Rooney rampages down the right channel and works his way into the box before winning an early corner for the home side.
    • 47' DOUBLE sub for Chile at the interval: Carlos Carmona and Felipe Gutierrez on. Matias Fernandez and Aranguiz off.
    • 46' KICK OFF! England restart the game.
    • 45+1' HT: England 0-1 Chile. Sanchez's superb header deservedly gives the visitors an interval lead. England's debutants yet to make a significant contribution.
    • 45+1' It could be worse for the hosts as Beausejour surges down the left and blazes a cross into the area that flies way beyond anyone in a Chile shirt. Wasteful from the Wigan wideman.
    • 45' The England corner comes to nothing. One minute added.

    • 38' Lovely nutmeg by Wilshere on the left of the area, but he's challenged out of it at the last moment. Fine skill by the Gunners midfielder.
    • 37' Chile have only won one of their last seven meetings with European opposition – a 4-0 victory over Estonia in 2011.
    • 36' Rodriguez turns into space in an area he is more accustomed to and fires in a low shot from distance that is easy for Bravo.

    • 33' STAT: The last Englishman to score a goal against Chile was Nat Lofthouse in 1953.

    • 31' Rooney venting some frustration on his teammates. It's not been a fluid first period from the Three Lions.
    • 30' What a goal that would have been! A superb move from back to front sees Beausejour close in on Forster but the Wigan man's touch is poor and the England keeper gets out to force him wide. The cross eventually comes in and Eduardo Vargas sees a shot on the spin blocked.

    • 27' Good work-rate from Lallana as he sprints back and wins a fine tackle to concede the corner.
    • 26' The England debutants haven't set the game on fire just yet. Lallana has shown some nice touches while Rodriguez has been quiet. Forster has made one decent save and could do little about the goal.
    • 25' It's been impressive from Chile. They've pressed England at every opportunity and when they have countered they've caused England some real problems.
    • 24' England probing but so far the ball just hasn't dropped for them. Wilshere stabs a pass through towards Rodriguez who is caught on his heels as a Chile defender slips at the vital moment. If the Southampton man had continued his run he'd have been in.
    • 23' A thumping first-time shot from Wilshere is straight at Bravo who fists it clear. Rooney picks up the rebound on the right flank but miscues his cross and it drops harmlessly over the bar.
    • 22' The England corner somehow makes its way towards Rooney in the six-yard box but the Man United striker can't react in time and the ball hits him before being hacked to safety.

    • 15' A corner to England once again comes to nothing.

    • 11' STAT: England hold a winning head-to-head record against Chile, but have not beaten their South American opponents in 60 years. England won the first two fixtures between the sides but the last three have ended in two draws and a loss.
    • 10' Poor old Forster enjoyed just seven minutes of his England bow before conceding. England fell asleep in the build up and could have easily gone behind seconds earlier when a goalbound shot was well blocked by Gary Cahill.
    • 9' England try to hit back straight away but Lallana's low drive is straight at Bravo and easily blocked by the Chile keeper.
    • 8' That's seven goals in his last seven internationals for the Barca man.

    • 1' KICK OFF! Chile get us underway.
    • 19.56 Time for the anthems and then it's game on!
    • 19.55 A nice moment for Lampard as he receives his 100th cap (won against Ukraine) from Sir Geoff Hurst and his Dad, Frank senior.
    • 19.50 STAT: The last time England played Chile – in the build-up to the 1998 World Cup - Michael Owen and Nicky Butt both make their international debuts, with Owen putting in a man-of-the-match display in a 2-0 loss.
    • 19.45 England are unbeaten in 10 matches, meaning they have yet to taste defeat in 2013. Roy's boys have notched up six wins and four draws since the 4-2 reversal against in November 2012. In fact, Hodgson and co have only lost once in 16 encounters since Euro 2012. Chile boast a similarly impressive record and are unbeaten in 12.
    • 19.40 What are your thoughts on the England line up then? Happy to see a trio of new faces? Which one do you you expect to shine brightest?

    • 19.35 Chile have named a relatively strong line up but are without two key men. Juventus star Arturo Vidal is ruled out with a calf strain while Palmeiras' Jorge Valdiva is not fit enough to start and is named on the bench. Barcelona striker Alexis Sanchez leads the line while Cardiff City's Gary Mendel features in midfield with Wigan winger Jean Beausejour also involved.
    • 19.30 Jorge Sampaoli: "It's very, very important as part of our preparation. These next two friendly games, against top world sides like Brazil and England, will give us an idea of where we are and how we're going to compete in the World Cup. We know those two sides are going to give us a real stiff test. Any mistakes you make, they don't let you off. For me, the World Cup starts on Friday. Irrespective what the line-up is, it's important we hit our straps and treat it like it's the World Cup."
    • 19.25 Roy Hodgson: "In these two games I need to have a look at one or two players who are knocking heavily on the door. There are only these two matches to do that and one in March, so I can't dismiss the need to give some playing time to people to know more about them. I am not trying to play down the importance of winning games and to keep the unbeaten run going, but I am not going to do it and have an unbeaten record to boast of if it is going to be at the detriment of looking at other players."
    • 19.18 This is the first of a double-header of friendlies for Roy Hodgson's men. This test against one of South America's most talented sides is followed hot on the heels by a mouthwatering showdown with Germany. But will England get anything significant out of these matches? In his exclusive column for Eurosport, Denmark legend Jan Molby tends to think not.

Lallana will feature in a midfield three including Lampard and Jack Wilshere. Rooney leads the line with Rodriguez and James Milner supporting from wide positions. Expect a fluid formation with a lot of interchanging.
    • 19.05 Both of these teams will tonight begin their preparations for next summer's World Cup in Brazil. England topped Group H in the European pool of qualifiers while Chile finished third in the South American group, behind Argentina and Colombia.
    • 19.00 STAT: England and Chile have met five times in total. England have won two, drawn two and lost once. That defeat came in the last showdown between the teams, a 2-0 home loss back in 1998. The Three Lions' last success was way back in 1953.
