    • 19.33 Joachim Loew: "The England game is our last chance before the World Cup to try out one or two new tactical variations and personnel. Philipp Lahm, Manuel Neuer and Mesut Ozil are part of the absolute backbone of our team and for me, it is more important now to give other players a chance to prove themselves in these key positions, particularly against such a strong team as England."
    • 19.30 Roy Hodgson: "Joe (Hart) is in the right frame of mind to play. He has been fine in training and I know (goalkeeping coach) Dave Watson has been happy with him so I could only answer in the affirmative that he is fine. He is ready. The Chile game was Fraser Forster's chance to show what he can do but (Hart) knows it's his chance on Tuesday night. This is what England manager has been like for me - selecting players who haven't played for a couple of weeks."
    • 19.25 Can England end 2013 on a high or will it be back-to-back defeats for Roy and co against a weakened German outfit?

It means there are just two survivors from the defeat to Chile in the form of Wayne Rooney and Adam Lallana, who keeps his place after a positive debut against La Roja. Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has shaken off a thigh injury to take his place alongside Rooney in attack while the much-criticised Joe Hart returns between the sticks.
