    • 73' England sub: Milner on, Lallana off.
    • 72' England sub: Smalling on, Jagielka off. The Everton man comes off before he gets a nose bleed.
    • 70' GOAL! Jagielka makes it 3-0! Fernandez drops Baines's corner and Jagielka stabs it in from close range. Both England's centre-backs have now scored tonight.
    • 68' Hodgson gets his two stars off the pitch before they get injured and make everyone even more depressed about England's World Cup chances. Raheem Sterling has just over 20 minutes to stake his claim.

    • 51' The ball pops up for Gerrard 25 yards out, but his sweet volley is blocked on the edge of the box.
    • 49' Mistake by Jagielka, who loses his footing and lets Peru in but Hart is alert to the danger and races off his line to clear. And even wins the throw!
    • 48' All England in the early stages of the second half. Will the Three Lions turn on the style?
    • 46' SECOND HALF. We're back underway at Wembley.
    • 45' HALF TIME. England 1-0 Peru. Sturridge's fine strike the only moment of note in what has been a pretty lacklustre game. Couple of hairy moments as Peru threatened.
    • 44' Ramirez is sent clean through as England mistime the offside trap - but Hart saves England by rushing off his line and saving well.
    • 43' Johnson lets the ball run under his foot and out of play as England were building a nice move down the right.
    • 41' Baines swings one in, but it doesn't quite have enough pace on it as Welbeck heads way over.
    • 40' Sturridge wins another free-kick for England, some 35 yards from goal.
    • 38' But Gerrard gets that all wrong, overhitting the cross into the box.
    • 37' Sturridge is tripped by Advincula and England have a free-kick in a dangerous position on the left.

    • 34' Johnson rolls the ball into Lallana, who tries to cut it back to Rooney - but the challenge comes in.
    • 33' GOAL! Sturridge puts England ahead with a fine strike! Picking up Johnson's throw, Sturridge shrugs off two challenges and clips it perfectly into the top corner. 1-0 England.
    • 31' England giving the ball away for fun. I hope they like running in 99% humidity. They'll be doing a lot of it against Italy.
    • 30' Gerrard gets a yellow card. More for his reaction than the tackle, which was a very good one.
    • 28' Gerrard takes a knock after a reckless challenge, but there's a collective sigh of relief as the skipper gets back to his feet.
    • 26' Gerrard's sweeping long ball is just too far ahead of Johnson, who had taken up an advanced position on the right.
    • 25' Baines plays a ball down the left to Welbeck, who does well to lose his marker, but then gives the ball away.
    • 23' It's all a little casual from England. Little for Three Lions fans to get excited about thus far.
    • 21' Rooney arrows another ball into the box, but it flies over Sturridge's head.
    • 19' Chance at the other end for England as a loose ball drops to Sturridge, whose snap shot fizzes just wide. Good effort, but should have scored.
    • 17' Hart called into action again as Deza's shot loops off Jagielka and almost over Hart, but the Manchester City keeper pulls off a good save.
    • 15' Hart is forced to race off his line as Ramirez plays an excellent through ball - danger for England for just a moment.
    • 14' Rooney drills another long ball wide towards Sturridge, but it's cut out. England need to get the ball on the floor. All a bit Crazy Gang at the moment.
    • 13' Henderson looks for the long ball again, but it skips off the surface and runs away from Lallana.
    • 12' England just growing into the contest now.
    • 10' Moments later Gerrard attempts a similar ball to Sturridge, but it runs through to Fernandez in the Peru goal.
    • 9' Liverpool connection apparent again as Henderson looks to thread a ball over the top to Sturridge, but Ramos is alert to it and nods clear.
    • 8' But it was a poor delivery by Baines and Peru clear.
    • 7' Ramos is out of position and trips Welbeck, who was driving forward. Ramos lucky not to get a yellow for that, and England have a free-kick in a dangerous area.
    • 6' England being made to work hard for the right to play by a dogged and well-organised Peru team.
    • 5' Clever ball plays in Ramirez, but he fouls Cahill in his attempts to get behind the England defence.
    • 4' Peru doing a good job of interrupting England's flow in the early stages.
    • 3' Sturridge gets the ball pinched off his toes by Ramos, who was in strongly. Sturridge with some ground to make up given his injury problems at the end of the season with Liverpool. Will be eager to get a goal under his belt tonight.
    • 2' Peru, in all red tonight, enjoying plenty of early touches.
    • 1' KICK OFF. England get us underway at Wembley.

    • 19.50 Peru coach Pablo Bengoechea: “We want to make a very good impression in our two matches [against England and Switzerland] and we have to take a look at those who can take their first steps in this national team. The important thing for us is to arrive at the Copa America next year in a good position and these games will help us achieve that."
    • 19.45 Roy Hodgson: "I feel that going into the tournament and having been with the team for two years, I am much more at home in the role. We are determined not to let the opportunity slip by without grasping it and having an effect on the tournament. If I could bottle what I’m seeing at the moment and release it on June 14 against Italy, I’d be a happy man.”
    • 19.40 The Three Lions have won their last six warm up matches/friendlies in the run-up to international tournaments since 2006.
    • 19.35 So lets get stuck into a few pre-match stats... England have met Peru twice before, losing 4-1 in their first meeting in May 1959 and then beating them 4-0 in May 1962 (both away).
