    Time:90'
    • USA
    • Nigeria
    • 93' FULL TIME: USA 2 Nigeria 1
    • 92' Bradley has so much space to drive into, but instead of taking the shot himself he passes out to Johnson on the overlap, who can't find Wondolowski in the box.
    • 91' The tempo of this game is still very high and the US just need to make sure they don't let another goal slip here. They've put in a very impressive performance, but a 2-2 draw would spoil their send-off.
    • 90' Three minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the game.
    • 89' USA sub: Clint Dempsey OFF, Chris Wondolowski ON.
    • 88' The USA were made to pay for sloppiness there. Gonzalez has unsettled the backline since coming on, and maybe that's what was to blame for the slack marking that led to the challenge on Moses.
    • 87' GOAL! USA 2 Nigeria 1 (87 mins - Victor Moses pen). After being brought down by Besler in the box, Moses dusts himself down and converts the spot kick with ease, sending Howard in the wrong direction.
    • 86' PENALTY TO NIGERIA! Besler brings down Moses inside the box.
    • 85' While the USA are oozing with confidence going into the World Cup, the situation could be any more different for Nigeria. They are now without a win in their last four games. Poor form.
    • 84' Emenike breaks the offside trap, getting in between two US defenders to set himself through on goal. But from about 16 yards Howard makes a good save to keep his clean sheet. Nigeria should have scored there,
    • 83' This looks like an exercise from Klinsmann. With games against quality teams like Germany, Ghana and Portugal coming up, this looks like the USA trying to close out a game, like they might have to do in Brazil.
    • 82'
    • 81' Altidore receives a standing ovation from the 50,000 strong crowd in Jacksonville. He couldn't have timed his return to goalscoring form any better. He needed a goal tonight and he got two.
    • 80' USA sub: Jozy Altidore OFF, Omar Gonzalez ON.
    • 79' Altidore slots through Dempsey with an excellent pass between two Nigerian centre-backs, but Enyeama comes off his line to close down the angle and smother the shot from the US captain.
    • 78' America should have made more of that situation! They had a two-on-three, but the cross from Zusi is overhit and Diskerud mishits his shot. Dempsey can't do much with the rebound.
    • 77' The US drop off for a corner kick, giving Onazi the chance to line up a shot from the edge of the box relatively unchallenged. But his effort is blocked by Besler, who charges out to close him down.
    • 76'
    • 75' USA sub: DaMarcus Beasley OFF, Timmy Chandler ON.
    • 74' Altidore now has 23 goals for the US national team. He told me after a game in Cyprus earlier this year that the national team is where he feels more comfortable. You can see it in his game.
    • 73' Nope, it's not Bradley coming off, but Beckerman instead. Diskerud is a more attacking player, so will Bradley now drop deeper into the centre of midfield, allowing Diskerud in behind the attackers?
    • 72' USA sub: Kyle Beckerman OFF, Mix Diskerud ON.
    • 71' Looks like Diskerud is about to come on for the USA. But who will he replace? Will it be Bradley, who has been excellent as always tonight?
    • 69' It's amazing how much of a difference some confidence makes to a football players. After scoring his first goal in 185 days, Altidore looks a completely different man. He's back to his best.
    • 68' GOAL! USA 2 (68 mins - Jozy Altidore) Nigeria 0. What a goal! Altidore takes a Bradley pass on the chest, before cutting inside onto his stronger foot and slamming a shot past the keeper. Wow!
    • 67' Jones has covered a lot of ground tonight. Some have questions over his ability and passing accuracy in the centre of midfield, but he always gives it his all for the US national team. Can't fault him there.
    • 66'
    • 65' Great play by Dempsey, but his finish could have been better. He's been in great scoring form for the Seattle Sounders recently. He looks ready for the World Cup.
    • 64' What a chance, what a save! Dempsey drives his way through the Nigeria defence, feigning and dipping his shoulder to weave through a couple of tackles. But his low shot is saved by Enyeama!
    • 62' Johnson once again shows his right-back adeptness. He's been excellent, both defensively and attacking-wise for the USA tonight. Vindicating Klinsmann's decision to convert him.
    • 61' Just before the change Dempsey was felled by a poor challenge. He's been struggling with a groin injury, but the former Spurs and Fulham man is back on his feet and looks okay. America breathes a sigh of relief.
    • 60' Zusi, Emperor of the Mexicans (that's a bit of a private joke, sorry), comes on for Zusi. Those two players are fighting for the same place in the starting lineup. Now the Sporting KC playmaker has a chance to impress.
    • 59' USA sub: Alejandro Bedoya OFF, Graham Zusi ON.
    • 58' Are you ready for the next 10-15 minutes to be ruined by countless changes? Because a number of subs are warming up on the touchline for both teams. I reckon Johansson could come on soon.
    • 57'
    • 56' Both teams have been wasteful in the final third. This time it's Moses who passes up the chance to create something in front of goal.
    • 55' Bradley finds a pocket of space between the midfield and attack, driving into it with purpose. He takes a shot, which looks dangerous, but it's deflected behind for a corner kick off Oboabona.
    • 54' Beasley has also been impressive at left-back. I'd suggest he's done enough to nail down a place in that opening game against Ghana next week.
    • 53' Johnson has been very effective breaking forward from right back, but on this ocassion he gets caught in possession and is lucky not to be caught out of position as well. His teammates cover for him.
    • 52' The USA come charging forward on the counter attack, with Bedoya taking control of the ball down the right channel. But in looking for Dempsey, he pulls the pass behind the captain, and the chance is gone.
    • 51' Nigeria looks somewhat more assured on the ball in this second half. Bradley and Jones aren't bringing the kind of energy they were before the break, but they haven't really had the chance to.
    • 50' Looks like Nigeria are preparing another change. Could it be Odemwingie who's about to come off for the Super Eagles?
    • 49' Great chance for the USA to create a good chance, with a four-on-three situation in their favour. But the pass is delayed, allowing Oshaniwa to get back and make the crucial interception.
    • 48' It will be interesting to see what changes Klinsmann makes. He has often stressed the importance of subs in his gameplan, so could we see someone like Mix Diskerud in the second half?
    • 47' Nigeria looked much better in the final five minutes or so of the first half, as they pressed to find an equaliser. Will that team, rather than the side that went 1-0 down, turn up for the second half?
    • 46' Nigeria sub: John Obi Mikel OFF, Ruben Gabriel ON.
    • 45' The second half has started in Jacksonville! The USA leads Nigeria 1-0 after Altidore's goal.
    • - What did you make of the first half? Will Altidore's goal give him the confidence to find form at the World Cup? How can Nigeria drag themselves back into the game? Tweet me (@grahamruthven)!
    • - Things started off slowly for the US, but there are a number of positives to take from that first half. Of course, the big plus point is Altidore's goal. The performances of the fullbacks, Beasley and Johnson has also been encouraging.
    • 47' HALF TIME: USA 1 Nigeria 0
    • 46' Audacious from Dempsey. The long ball is played over the top for the Seattle Sounders man to run on to, and on the bounce he takes a shot from about 30 yards out. But Enyeama is behind it to make the save.
    • 45' One minute of stoppage time to be played.
    • 45' Correction: It was actually Ambrose with the header, forcing Howard into a save.
    • 44' Howard has to be alert! A Yobo header from a corner kick flashes towards his near post, but the US keeper is down early to deny his former Everton teammate. Good save. That's why he's so important to the US.
    • 43' A loose pass from Beckerman allows Nigeria to spring forward on the attack. However, Jones tracks back well to make the interception, preventing Odemwingie from going clean through on goal.
    • 42' Reports from inside the US training camp say that Beckerman has been honing his man-marking skills before facing Cristiano Ronaldo at the World Cup. But right now the Real Salt Lake midfielder is struggling to deal with Odemwingie!
    • 41' We mentioned that Altidore had suffered something of a goal drought, but how about this for a stat. It was 185 days since he last scored for club and country. That streak is now over for the Sunderland man.
    • 40'
    • 39' A Bradley freekick is floated into the box, but defended well by Nigeria. However, Beasley comes charging in from left back and takes the ball on his chest before shooting at goal. But his effort sails well over.
    • 38' Nigeria are trying to push the US further up the field, but when they get to the edge of the opposition box the move breaks down and the Americans can come away with the ball on the counter attack.
    • 36' The Americans now seem to have grown in confidence since that opening goal. They're passing the ball around much better and look much more threatening in the final third. Altidore is throwing himself around.
    • 35' Jones takes a dull one from Ambrose as he raced down the left side. He's back on his feet but Klinsmann doesn't look too happy that the referee let that go.
    • 34' He could hardly miss but with the World Cup kicking off next week that goal couldn't come at a better time for Altidore. The smile has returned to his face following an atrocious season in the Premier League.
    • 33'
    • 32' Altidore badly needed that goal! He needs the confidence ahead of the World Cup, and the Sunderland striker puffs out his chest that little bit more. Klinsmann looks delighted on the touchline.
    • 31' GOAL! USA 1 (31 mins - Jozy Altidore) Nigeria 0. Jozy has his goal! It was a simple finish, with the ball played across the face of goal by Johnson, but Altidore knocks it home to make it 1-0 to the Americans!
    • 30' Three points! The ball is played back to Onazi, who has pushed forward from midfield, but the Nigerian blasts his effort well over the bar.
    • 29' A corner kick is flicked up onto the chest of Dempsey, who attempts an acrobatic scissor kick. but his effort flies over the bar. He wanted a corner kick for it but Clattenburg isn't having any of it.
    • 27' The US are starting to get a bit desperate in front of goal. They're snatching at chances, when they need to be taking their time, allowing them to make a better decision in the final third. It's all a bit rushed right now.
    • 26' Klinsmann has faced some criticism this week after he admitted that the US can't win the World Cup this summer. They are a country that is used to winning, so that admission hasn't sat well with some.
    • 25' Mark Clattenburg, who is the referee for this game tonight, is letting a lot go! Ambrose is down on the ground after being flattened by Beasley, but the English official waved play on. Not sure about that one.
    • 24'
    • 23' Bradley comes close to finding the net! Driving off the right wing the Toronto FC star fires off a shot at goal, forcing Enyeama into a solid diving save down to his right. Good effort by Bradley.
    • 22' Bradley is coming deeper to get the ball from the full-backs, with Jones now pushing further up the pitch. Beckerman remains the anchor, although Bradley is sort of encroaching on his position.
    • 21' Whenever the US get into the final third, their decision making has left much to be desired. Altidore is doing very little to justify his selection. Any chance Aron Johansson plays that first game against Ghana?
    • 20' Beasley gets down the outside and fizzes a dangerous into the box looking for the run of Altidore. But Yobo cuts it out and Dempsey can't create anything out of the rebound. Good movement from the left back though.
    • 19' Nigeria are just beginning to impose themselves on the game. restricting the USA to counter attacks. But with Altidore so low on confidence, nothing is sticking with the Sunderland striker.
    • 18' After his performance against Greece during the week, when manager Stephen Keshi said he was trying too hard to impress, Ameobi needs a good game tonight. He certainly looks lively, but not much in the way of a final product.
    • 17' Ameobi cuts inside off the left wing and fires off a right-footed shot at goal, but despite spilling it at the first attempt Howards gathers comfortably. Not much venom in that effort.
    • 16' For so long Bradley was the one to calm the play down for the US, picking the passes from a deep position in the middle. But now he's being asked to provide the energy, and he's not bad at doing that either.
    • 15' Moses swings a corner into the penalty area from the left side, but a combination of Jones and Beckerman clear the danger with their heads. Dreads united! Nigeria are starting press now.
    • 14' That's perhaps where Johnson's left-footedness hinders him as a left back. Too often he looks to play passes with his left foot, when he really should be using his right.
    • 13' Johnson misplaces a pass, allowing Moses to latch on and drive at the USA goal. Besler comes across to make the challenge, much to the Hoffenheim full-back's relief!
    • 12' There have been questions over the USA's defence, but the centre back partnership of Cameron and Besler has yet to be tested by Nigeria. They didn't look particularly solid against Turkey earlier in the week.
    • 11' Klinsmann is stood on the touchline, hands on hips, surveying what he sees in front of him. What he sees is a 50,000 strong crowd for a friendly match. And they say football hasn't taken hold in the States!
    • 10' Mikel is given much more freedom with Nigeria than he is at Chelsea. The onus is on him to provide from midfield. He even pops up with a few goals from time to time. I know! Unbelievable!
    • 9' The USA have the first real sight of goal, with Dempsey lining up a shot from outside the box following a surging Bradley run. But his effort is deflected wide for a corner, which eventually comes to nothing.
    • 8' It actually looks like the US are playing a diamond, with Jones the one being pushed out right. Bradley is at the top of the diamond, where he has played the last few games for the national team.
    • 7' Altidore could do with a goal tonight. He's endured a dismal season with Sunderland, where he scored just one goal after bagging over 30 for AZ Alkmaar the season before. Klinsmann needs his striker to find form!
    • 6' Timmy Chandler played at left back for the US in their last friendly game against Turkey at Red Bull Arena, but tonight Klinsmann has opted for Beasley in his place. Johnson, a left back by trade, keeps his place at right back.
    • 5' Ambrose normally plays at centre-back for Nigeria, but tonight he is out at right-back, where he has nailed down a place for the national team. That's where he'll play during the World Cup.
    • 4' Former Newcastle United striker Ameobi is leading the line for Nigeria. with Moses and Odemwingie flanking him on either side. Mikel is the kingpin in the centre of midfield, so plenty of Premier League interest tonight.
    • 3'
    • 2' So this is the last chance for both these teams. The USA and Nigeria will fly to Brazil on Monday for the World Cup, meaning that if you're a player this is your last opportunity to impress before the big kick-off.
    • 1' We're under way here in Jacksonville, Florida! It's the USA v Nigeria.
    • 22:57
    • 22:55 If it is a 4-2-3-1 from Klinsmann, then Jermaine Jones will partner Kyle Beckerman as the anchor of the midfield, with Michael Bradley pushed further up the pitch into the final third. Will he start there against Ghana?
    • 22:50 The big team news for the Americans is that Tim Howard will collect his 100th cap for the national team. Otherwise it looks like Jurgen Klinsmann might stick with his usual 4-2-3-1 formation.
    • 22:45 TEAM NEWS: USA - Howard, Johnson, Cameron, Besler, Beasley, Beckerman, Jones, Bradley, Bedoya, Dempsey, Altidore. /// Nigeria - Enyeama, Ambrose, Oshaniwa, Yobo, Oboabona, Onazi, Mikel, Azeez, Odemwingie, Ameobi, Moses.
