    • AC Milan
    • Catania
    • 90+3' The full time whistle is blown. Milan come from 2-1 down to win 4-2 and claim third spot!! What a thriller that was. Thanks for joining us tonight.
    • 90+2' GOAL FOR MILAN!! Was there any doubt about the outcome of that penalty?! Super Mario steps up, sends the keeper the wrong way with that little jink in his run up and passes it into the net.
    • 90+1' Balotelli exchanged a one-two with Muntari on the edge of the penalty area and was brought down by Izco.
    • 90' PENALTY FOR MILAN!!
    • 89' Confirmation that Catania have made a change, too. Lodi is the man to go off with Ciro Capuana coming on.
    • 88' Bergessio goes down under the challenge of Abate in the penalty area. It was off the ball but the referee didn’t see it. The two are exchanging words and Bergessio needs to be careful here, he’s already been booked.
    • 87' 18-year-old M’baye Niang is introduced as Prince makes way. That’ll run down the clock.
    • 86' Marchese does go into the referee’s book, however. It’s a very harsh yellow card and the defender will now miss his side’s next game. Abate looks to cross from the right but the ball hits the outstretched arm of Marchese.
    • 85' Mexes commits another foul deep in the Catania half and escapes a yellow card. It’s quite a shock to see Mexes go through a game without going into the ref’s book...
    • 84' Think what you like about the man, but when he’s on song there is no doubt that Balotelli is an incredible player. He produces trick after trick to beat three players and draw another foul.
    • 83' Milan seem content with knocking the ball around the halfway line. Catania players look to be chasing shadows but are working hard to win the ball back,
    • 82' Balotelli produces a quick turn of pace down the left to beat Izco before facing up to Rolin. The Catania man lashes out at the ball with a big boot and nearly catches the Milan striker. The two exchange heated words.
    • 81' Almiron is given a rest as Catania introduce Maco Biagianti.
    • 80' Sulley Muntari is brought on to provide a little more stability in the Milan midfield now that they hold that one-goal advantage. El Shaarawy is the man to make way.
    • 79' SHOULD SCORE!! Great movement from Bergessio who escapes Bonera and latches on to Castro smart through ball. With only the keeper to beat the striker somehow manages to scoop the ball over the bar.
    • 78' Flamini and Barrientos both went into the book following that goal.
    • 77' GOAL!! MILAN ARE IN FRONT!!! Pazzini scores again. What a crazy three minutes. Prince dispossesses Almiron in his own half and bursts forward, playing the ball to Montolivo. The midielder times his pass to perfection to play in El Shaarawy who can only find the chest of the keeper as the ball rolls into open space into the penalty area. Pazzini is on hand to simply pass the ball into the net. Milan are back in the top three!!
    • 75' MILAN ARE LEVEL!! PAZZINI SCORED!! Super Mario collects the ball 30 yards from goal, shows the defender one way before shifting the ball the other and drilling an effort on goal. Frison fails to deal with it and pushes it onto the penalty spot which allows for Pazzini – who does his best to miss it – to play the ball into the back of the net off the post.
    • 73' Really good football from the visitors. They’re pegged in deep into their own half but show cool heads to play the ball out of danger, moving it from defence all the way up to Gomez who does well to hold it up.
    • 72' Balotelli goes into the book, for dissent. He’s dispossessed, doesn’t like it and obviously says something that the referee doesn’t like.
    • 71' OOOOH, WHAT AN AWFUL MISS!! Montolivo fizzes a ball into Pazzini who controls well and lays the ball off to El Shaarway. Under no pressure at all in the Catania box, the Italian takes a touch before shooting at goal. Somehow the striker misses the goal by at least 2 metres.
    • 70' Lodi’s free kick from the right is hit deep and Legrottaglie really does his best to get on the end of it. The defender does make contact but fouls Bonera in the process.
    • 69' El Shaarawy is down. He is sent to the floor following Gomez’s very firm challenge. It’s a fair challenge and the referee allows the visitors to play on but the Catania man very sportingly plays the ball out.
    • 68' You could just sense that Milan had lost their way during the last 10 minutes and now need to find two goals to win this match.
    • 67' The hosts do make a change. Giampaolo Pazzini comes on in place of Nocerino.
    • 66' GOAL!! CATANIA ARE BACK IN FRONT!! And what a great finish that is. Izco produces a superb to play in Bergessio who has the better of Bonera. Amelia comes flying off his line but the Catania man isn’t fazed and simply clips the ball over the sliding goalkeeper.
    • 65' El Shaarawy is on the ball again and looks to use a little bit of trickery to get past Rolin but the defender does well to clear the danger.
    • 64' De Sciglio looks to force it with a rather tricky pass. El Shaarawy looks to gain some ground on Legrottaglie and get on the end of the pass but Frison is off his line in an instant to gather.
    • 63' Robinho or Niang for Nocerino could be a possible change. They need a bit of extra energy in that final third of which both of those players could bring. Catania have still been under the cosh but are handling it with relative ease.
    • 62' Milan seem to have hit that lull and don’t seem to be producing that high-intensity football at the moment. They seem to have lost their way and Allegri may look to make a change here.
    • 61' Catania attack in numbers. Castro finds some space in the middle of the pitch and has Gomez one side with Bergessio the other – both in decent areas – but the ball gets stuck under the midfielder’s feet and he can’t release it.
    • 60' Boateng drops deep and collects the ball wide on the right touchline. He trades a one-two with Abate and whips a cross into the penalty area. Balotelli busts a gut trying to get on the end of it but Rolin clears.
    • 59' The Catania midfield looks a little light now that Gomez has joined Bergessio up front. They could find it even harder to get the ball out of defence and up to their strikers...
    • 58' Nocerino’s corner is whipped into the front post where Mexes is waiting. The defender flicks a headed effort towards the near post which Frison is able to beat away for another corner.
    • 57' Milan win their 11th corner of the match following Barrientos’ firm challenge. The winger appears to want to let Montolivo know that he’s there but simply ends up hoofing the ball out for a corner. Strange one, that!!
    • 56' Bonera reads the play very well. Catania look to be building upon a smart attack but the defender nicks the ball off Barrientos after coming in from the side. Smart stuff, that!!
    • 55' The visitors are able get the ball out of their own half and attack in numbers down the left. Gomez is currently plying his trade up front and they do look a little more dangerous on the attack but Mexes reads the danger and is able to dispossess his man.
    • 54' El Shaarawy goes down in the box and is claiming a penalty!! He latches onto the end of Prince’s pass and flicks it over the head of Legrottaglie before going down under pressure. The referee isn’t interested in the slightest.
    • 53' El Shaarawy should do better. Abate, who has been brilliant down that wing so far, pulls the ball back from the touchline into the path of the striker who doesn’t quite get hold of his shot. Frison saves.
    • 52' Milan have pushed men forward and Mexes looks to be playing left-wing. The defender hurries and harries Izco, winning the ball and playing it into the path of El Shaarawy who smacks a rasping effort on goal which Frison palms out for another corner.
    • 51' Abate gets down the right flank again and looks to cross. He wins corner number nine for the hosts as Marchese gets the block in.
    • 50' This isn’t exactly a dead-rubber for Catania here. They’re currently seven points adrift of a European place with a game in hand. If they were to snatch another goal and win this game then, with four games to play, it is mathematically possibly for them to qualify for next season’s Europa League.
    • 49' In these opening few minutes it seems that this second half will play out in a very similar fashion to that of the first.
    • 48' Neither coach made a change during the break so it’s as you were...
    • 47' I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a one-sided first half that finished 1-1. Milan had 19 shots on goal in those opening 45 minutes. Let’s hope for more of the same from the two teams in this second period.
    • 46' The second half is under way. Catania kick off.
    • 45+1' The half-time whistle blows as both teams make their way to the tunnel. It's been an entertaining first half of which Milan have dominated but find themselves at 1-1.
    • 45' STAT: Flamini had scored four goals in his first 116 games for the Rossoneri but has since scored three in his last three.
    • 44' GOAL FOR FLAMINI. Three goals in three games for the Frenchman. Abate crosses from the right and finds the chest of Boateng who controls it into the path of Flamini. The former Arsenal man crashes his volley past the outstretched arm of Frison and into the back of the net.
    • 43' As it stands, Milan will be two points behind third-placed Fiorentina and will be out of the Champions League spot. Still plenty of time for them to turn it around, though.
    • 42' Much better free kick from Balotelli who smashes the ball at goal. It’s definitely going in but Frison flies to his right and is able to palm the ball around the post.
    • 41' Legrottaglie now goes into the book. The defender brings down El Shaarawy after Marchese’s poor free kick put his side in real trouble. Balotelli over it again...
    • 40' Balotelli is giving the assistant referee an ear-bashing. The striker loses the ball and gives away a very soft free kick deep in the Catania half.
    • 39' This really is all hands on deck for the Sicilian side. The pressure from the Rossoneri is relentless. Catania are defending superbly, though.
    • 38' The visitors go on the attack again and do it well. Short, sharp passes see them advance to the edge of the Milan penalty area. Mexes is on hand to make a decent block but Castro is first to it and tries to find the top right-hand corner but gets nowhere near it.
    • 37' This has got to be some sort of a record. Frison is shown a yellow card for time wasting as he is adjudged to take far too long with his goal kick.
    • 36' Milan get there fifth corner of the night. They’ve responded very well to the set-back. Nocerino’s corner is sent to the near post where Boateng climbs highest but can’t keep his unchallenged header down.
    • 35' Balotelli earns another free kick for his side 25 yards from goal. Again he stands over it, ushering his team-mates away. The Italian drills the ball up-and-over the wall but can’t get it down in time to trouble Frison.
    • 34' Absolute chaos in the Catania penalty. Shaarawy bursts down the left and pulls the ball back to Balotelli who shoots from 10 yards. The goal mouth is full and the ball ricochets off a number of legs before Rolin clears.
    • 33' WHAT AN EFFORT FROM PRINCE!! Abate crosses from the right which El Shaarawy takes down well with his chest on the edge of the penalty area. It runs into the path of Boateng who lashes it goalwards, but sees it crash off the bar and out to safety.
    • 31' Deemed not good enough to cut it at Milan, Legrottaglie gets his second goal against his former employers – after scoring in the reverse fixture earlier in the season. Milan look stunned.
    • 30' GOAL FOR CATANIA!! Nicola Legrottaglie, who played only once for Milan, rises highest in the box to get on the end of Lodi's set piece and crash the ball into the back of the net, leaving Amelia no chance.
    • 29' Abate is back on the pitch but isn’t moving too well. I wouldn’t be too surprised if he was forced off here...
    • 28' Montolivo’s free kick is again cleared by the first defender and Catania have a chance to counter. They don’t look to be doing it with a lot of conviction, however, as only Bergessio and Gomez are support Castro.
    • 27' Milan are currently down to 10 men as Abate is taken off the pitch. Constant looks to be warming up on the touchline.
    • 26' Bergessio goes in late on Abate and leaves the defender in a heap on the floor. He looks in a bit of discomfort and the Catania striker goes into the book. Striker’s challenge.
    • 25' CHANCE FOR MILAN!! Abate links well with Boateng on the right. The defender finds a gap that doesn’t look to be there. Boateng takes a touch on his knee before volleying the ball into the box. El Shaarawy and Balotelli both go for the ball but Rolin gets another touch on it and Frison gathers.
    • 24' Milan win a corner after a quick break down the right. Nocerino’s set piece is a decent one but Rolin rises highest to head away. The defenders stay up as the ball held on the edge of the penalty area.
    • 23' The visitors are pushing high at the moment. Milan are knocking the ball around in their own half looking for some space but aren’t finding it...
    • 22' Castro does all of the hard-work down the right, beating Mexes on the touchline before bursting towards the touchline. He waits for support, and waits a little too long as he allows the ball to roll out for a goal kick.
    • 21' Balotelli gets the better of Marchese. Again. This time Marchese gets the wrong side of the striker and chases him down the right flank. Losing the battle, the Catania man opts for the shirt-pull which allows for his side to regain their shape.
    • 20' Catania have had to work incredibly hard to keep their opponents out so far. It’s been all Milan in these opening 20 minutes but there will be a lull in the game so the hosts will want to capitalise on this possession.
    • 19' Nocerino’s corner from the right is taken short. El Shaarawy trades a one-two with Montolivo on the edge of the penalty but the return pass is too firm and Catania have a goal kick.
    • 18' He’s at it again. Balotelli picks up the ball on the left touchline and skips inside, brushing off a rather week challenge before pulling his righ-footed effort wide of Frison’s left post.
    • 17' INCHES AWAY!!! Flamini drives forward with the ball and has a crack at goal. It’s blocked but the ball rolls into the path of Boateng down the right. The Ghanaian smashes the ball across the face of the goal where Balotelli is waiting but is just inches away from turning the ball home.
    • 16' Montolivo’s free kick is a poor one and is cleared by the first defender. Lodi and Castro link up well to take the ball out of their half and deep into Milan’s. De Sciglio and Nocerino double up down the left and regain possession.
    • 15' Balotelli is so incredibly confident of himself that it is, at times, sickening. He hold the ball up well on the edge of the Catania penalty area and, again, has options but elects to just muscle his man off the ball. He doesn’t even look to want to go anywhere and, after a bit of jostling, draws the foul.
    • 14' Flamini has had a bright start to this game, too. He’s scored in each of his last two games – most certainly because he’s been given a bit more freedom in the middle of the park.
    • 13' Catania see the ball for the fist time of the match as Gomez cuts inside from the left, nutmegs Montolivo and shifts the ball out wide to Castro whose first-time ball is over hit as Bergessio fails to stop it rolling out for a goal kick.
    • 12' This has been all Milan so far. Boateng now has a pop at goal from distance of which debutant Frison fails to deal with. Instead he pushes it straight into the path of Flamini who looks to cross for El Shaarawy. The flag goes up, though, and the keeper gets away with it.
    • 11' De Sciglio goes into the book and rightly so. He flies into a tackle with Izco and is correctly shown a yellow card.
    • 10' Flamini picks up the ball on the edge of the Catania penalty area and bursts forward, riding two challenges. He should cross but takes a further touch and is forced out wide, eventually sending his cross over the top and out for a goal kick.
    • 9' Gomez and Montolivo go into a 50/50 tackle very hard. Very fairly, though. The ball rolls out for a throw-in which Montolivo is adamant is his. The assistant awards it to the visitors and gets a fair mouthful from the Milan midfielder.
    • 8' What a sparkling start from Balotelli this has been. The striker gathers the ball 30 yards from goal and has options either side but opts to take the ball past Lodi and then Legrottaglie before smashing his effort wide of the left-hand post from 20 yards.
    • 7' Nocerino’s corner from the right is sent to the edge of the penalty area where Montolivo is standing. The midfielder controls well on his chest before volleying over the bar. This has been a very positive start from the hosts.
    • 6' Balotelli is the man standing over the ball after pushing his team-mates into the penalty area. The free kick is hit hard but cannons off Almiron’s head in the wall..
    • 5' Tremendous footwork from Balotelli on the edge of the penalty area. He looks to get a shot away a number of times but is hounded instantly. A couple of step-overs draw the foul and Milan have a very good chance here.
    • 4' Balotelli takes the ball down very well as he advances into the penalty area but there’s a bit too much pace on the ball and he can’t get a shot away. The former Man City striker lays the ball off to Prince whose first-time cross takes a deflection before finding the arm of Marchese but the referee waves play on.
    • 3' Abate and Prince link well down the right. The former gets some space in behind the covering defender and sends the ball into the penalty area but Rolin is on hand to clear.
    • 2' This is a fixture that Catania have never won in Serie A. They’ve had 17 attempts at beating the Rossoneri at the San Siro and have failed each and every time. Tonight would be terrible timing for Milan to lose that record.
    • 1' The referee gets the game under way. The hosts kick off.
    • 19:44 Milan have failed to win in three and often go through patches like this. They tend to be a confidence-driven team and will regularly pick up a series of wins and will then hit a poor patch of which they seem to have hit recently. Can they get a win tonight to get their Champions League hopes back up and running or will Catania get the win and deny the Rossoneri a spot in Euope's elite competition for next season? Let me know on Twitter: @JoshuaHayward99
    • 19:40 The teams are in: MILAN: Amelia; Abate, Mexes, Bonera, De Sciglio; Flamini, Montolivo, Nocerino; Boateng, Balotelli, El Shaarawy. SUBS: Terracciano, Messina, Potenza, Capuano, Augustyn, Ricchiuti, Keko, Biagianti, Salifu, Cabakceta, Cani, Doukara
    • 19:35 Fiorentina overcame Sampdoria 3-0 in today’s earlier match and have subsequently leapfrogged Milan into that all-important third-placed Champions League spot, so the Rossoneri will aim to take the initiative with a win here tonight.
    • 19:30 Sicilian-based outfit Catania haven’t won in four league matches but have been unbeaten in their last three; drawing 1-1 with Palermo following two consecutive goalless draws with Chievo and Cagliari.
    • 19:25 Both sides have struggled for league form of late and will be looking to pick up three points this evening. Fourth-placed Milan haven’t managed a win in their last three league outings, succumbing to Juventus last week and being held to two consecutive draws by Napoli and Fiorentina.
    • 19:20 Good evening and welcome to LIVE commentary of tonight’s Serie A fixture between AC Milan and Catania from the San Siro.
  • Summary

    • 90+2' GOAL FOR MILAN!! Was there any doubt about the outcome of that penalty?! Super Mario steps up, sends the keeper the wrong way with that little jink in his run up and passes it into the net.
