    • - MAN OF THE MATCH - Fernando Torres (Chelsea): A vibrant display by the Spain striker who tucked home the opener before teeing up Ramires for a sublime second goal. That was more like the forward who terrorised defences during his time at Liverpool. Now the challenge is to repeat it consistently in the Premier League.
    • - PLAYER RATINGS - CHELSEA: Schwarzer 7, Azpilicueta 6, Luiz 6, Cahill 6, Bertrand 6, Essien 6, Van Ginkel 5, De Bruyne 6, Mata 7, Willian 6, Torres 8. Subs: Ramires 7, Terry 6, Ba 6.
    • - PLAYER RATINGS - SWINDON: Foderingham 8, Thompson.N 6, Hall 6, Ward 7, McEveley 6, Kasim 7, Luongo 6, Pritchard 7, Ajose 6, Ranger 6, N’Guessan 6. Subs: Thompson 6, El-Gabbas 6.
    • 90+3' FULL-TIME: Swindon 0-2 Chelsea. Torres scores one and makes one as the Blues' multi-million pound second string ease into round four.
    • 90+2' Three minutes have been added.
    • 90+1' CLOSE! Wonderful play by Torres who dances beyond a plethora of challenges and almost rounds the keeper before Willian fires a shot against a Swindon leg on the line. It should be three. Great play by Torres, but he over did it at the end.
    • 90' Well defended by Chelsea who are edging towards a clean sheet.
    • 89' Free-kick to Swindon. A chance to pump it into the mix once more.
    • 88' Although the victory may have come at some sort of cost with Ramires and van Ginkel both going off injured.
    • 87' It's looking like a very good night for Chelsea's mulit-million pound second string.
    • 86' Ba picks up possession, cuts in from the left and fizzes a right-footer inches past the far post. Great effort.
    • 85' The romantic would say the Robins deserve a goal for their efforts tonight but Jose and co don't look in charitable mood.
    • 84' Swindon are still trying to have a go here but it's leaving gaps at the back that Chelsea are looking to expose and take advantage of.
    • 83' Chance for Willian.... the forward drags inches wide from a tight angle with Torres screaming for a tap-in just outside the six-yard box.
    • 82' It will be interesting to see what Mourinho has made of Mata tonight.
    • 81' Bertrand weaves his way to the left of the area and cuts it back for Mata who crashes an attempt well over the top.
    • 80' Pritchard turns into space and surges towards the penalty area before firing in a tame shot that dribbles past the post.
    • 79' McEveley crosses from the left but Bertrand is there to head clear and get an arm in the face for his troubles via Thompson. Free-kick to Chelsea.
    • 78' CHELSEA sub: Ba on for De Bruyne - and not Torres as anticipated.
    • 77' Nathan Thompson booked.
    • 76' It's gone very quiet at the county Ground. Chelsea knocking the ball around with ease now.
    • 75' Chelsea seem to have seen out that spell of Swindon pressure and are closing in on the fourth round. In fact, you wouldn't rule out a couple more goals for the Premier League outfit.
    • 73' SWINDON sub: Mohamed El-Gabbas on for Nicky Ajose.
    • 72' Mata whips in a corner from the right but it's well defended at the back post.
    • 71' Ba warming up on the touchline for Chelsea. It could be the end of the night for Torres soon.
    • 70' BIG MISS! Chelsea carve Swindon open with a flowing counter attack. Torres is played clear and sees his low shot well saved by Foderingham. Willian picks up the rebound but smashes his shot high into the stand. That was wild from the £30 million man.
    • 68' Just over 20 minutes for the League One side. Can they get themselves back into this and set up a pulsating finale?
    • 67' McEveley hangs one up from the left wing that Schwarzer comes to claim on his penalty spot. Brave keeping from the Aussie who has been very impressive so far tonight.
    • 66' A corner to Chelsea comes to nothing.
    • 65' CLOSE! De Bruyne crashes in a thumping volley from the edge of the box that is well blocked by Foderingham. The ball squirms free but Torres can't react in time and Swindon manage to hack it away.
    • 64' Poor delivery by Pritchard though. It looked like a tame shot when a cross was the order of the day.
    • 63' There's no let up for the Blues. It's another free-kick to Swindon in a dangerous position 35 yards out to the left of centre.
    • 62' The Robins are well on top at the moment. Another corner puts Chelsea under the cosh but Schwarzer is there one again to bravely punch to safety.
    • 61' GREAT SAVE! Schwarzer pulls off a fine one-handed stop to keep out N'Guessan's header after a delighful cross from the right by Pritchard. The flag was up anyhow, but Schwarzer wasn't to know.
    • 60' The corner comes to nothing but Swindon continue to press.
    • 59' A promising Swindon attack almost fizzles out but a deflected shot wins them a corner on the right.
    • 58' Another probing move sees Chelsea get in down the right but Ward is there to clear at the near post. Fine defending from the 35-year-old who calls for his young teammates to start talking more.
    • 57' Mata picks the ball up on the left and jinks inside. The Spaniard looks up and floats a ball to the far side... but it's to no-one. Poor play that won't have gone down well with the gaffer.
    • 56' STAT: Swindon have won four of their last five League Cup clashes against teams from a higher division, with those games producing a total of 21 goals.
    • 55' This is a really good spell for Swindon. Can they make it count and get themselves a foothold in this tie?
    • 54' Pritchard fires the 30-yard free-kick towards the bottom corner but it's well handled by Schwarzer.
    • 53' YELLOW CARD - Essien booked for tripping Kasim 30 yards from goal.
    • 52' That's really lifted the crowd here. It feels more like a cup tie now.
    • 51' GOAL for SWINDON! No, it's been ruled out for offside! McEveley whips a free-kick in from the right and N'Guessan rises to thump a header home. However, his celebrations are cut short by the sight of the flag. He was a fraction offside. Close for the League One side.
    • 50' LATEST: Spurs in control at Villa. They now lead 2-0.
    • 49' A clever reverse pass by Luiz picks out the diagonal run of Kevin De Bruyne who attempts to guide a volley at goal but completely misses the ball!
    • 48' A scrappy start to the half. No doubt the flurry of changes will have played a part.
    • 47' Ramires has picked up 'a slight knock' according to Chelsea's medical staff. Very vague.
    • 46' KICK OFF! Swindon restart the contest.
    • 46' SWINDON sub: A blow for the League One side too as Ranger is forced off. He's replaced by Louis Thompson.
    • 46' CHELSEA sub: John Terry on for Ramires who has picked up a knock. That's two injuries for the Blues tonight. A probable victory appears to be coming at a cost.
    • 45+3' HALF-TIME: Swindon 0-2 Chelsea. After a slow start the Blues struck two goals in six minutes to take control with Torres at the heart of it all courtesy of a tap-in and an assist.
    • 45+2' Good play by Pritchard on the left but his cross ricochets off Azpilicueta and back into his own face before rolling out for a goal kick. Very unfortunate.
    • 45+1' Remember there are 11 League Cup ties tonight. Check out the latest in our multiplex.

    • 45' Three minutes to be added.
    • 44' The free-kick is whipped in from the left but Schwarzer is there to punch clear.
    • 43' Azpilicueta booked for a lunge on Jay McEveley.
    • 43' Despite a slow start it's turned into a routine half of football for Chelsea's fringe players.
    • 42' STAT: Chelsea have won their last five games against Swindon in all competitions. The Robins' last victory against the Londoners was a 4-0 win in a Simod Cup tie in January 1988.
    • 41' Ryan Bertrand lets fly from distance... good save.
    • 40' Almost a sniff of a chance for Ranger as Cahill overplays and almost allows the forward a clear run at goal. Good recovery from the England defender.
    • 39' Corner to Swindon... easy for Schwarzer at the near post.
    • 38' Kasim leads Mata a merry dance and then fizzes in a low 25-yard drive that Schwarzer is forced to push behind.
    • 37' Swindon looking to lift themselves ahead of the interval and are starting to threaten.
    • 36' Chelsea have a habit of hitting the goal trail in this competition. STAT: The Blues scored 16 goals in their first three League Cup ties last season but failed to net in either leg of their semi-final against Swansea.
    • 35' GOAL! It's 2-0. Torres wriggles away from two and plays a sublime ball in behind for Ramires who clips a lovely finish over the keeper and into the top corner.
    • 34' Chelsea beginning to dominate now. The goal seems to have provided a real blow to the home team's confidence.
    • 33' The Robins kept clean sheets against Torquay and QPR.
    • 32' That was the first goal Swindon have conceded in this year's competition.
    • 31' LATEST: Fulham 0-1 Everton.

    • 30' Torres showing that all good strikers don't let a big miss affect them. A cool finish after more fine goalkeeping from Foderingham.
    • 29' GOAL! Chelsea lead. Torres taps home from a narrow angle after Mata's low shot was brilliantly pushed away by Foderingham. Unlucky for the Robins keeper.
    • 28' Will that be the catalyst for Chelsea to step up a gear or will Swindon learn from their error?
    • 27' GREAT SAVE! Chelsea finally carve Swindon open as Mata sends Torres clear on goal. The striker takes a touch and fires in a shot that Foderingham saves with his face. Wonderful goalkeeping.
    • 26' A flowing Chelsea move sees the Premier club get a rare sight of goal. Willian puts Torres in down the left and the Spain man jinks to the byline before cutting it back to Ramires who beats his man and curls a 25 yarder well wide.
    • 25' Mata skips down the left but sees his curling cross bounce harmlessly out of the area on the far side.
    • 24' Swindon boss, Cooper will be delighted with how his team have matched Chelsea so far. It's a tight encounter with very little between the teams.
    • 23' SHOCK? Watford 1-0 up at home to Norwich.
    • 22' STAT: In total, Chelsea have lifted the trophy four times - only Liverpool (eight) and Aston Villa (five) have won the competition more often.
    • 21' Chelsea clip the resulting free kick into the mix but it's easy for Foderingham.
    • 20' Essien rolls back the years with a rampaging break through the centre of the field that is halted by Yaser Kasim. The Robins star is lucky not to pick up a yellow for that.
    • 19' Elsewhere tonight, Southampton are 1-0 up against Bristol City.
      Recommended Link
    • 18' Dany N'Guessan produces a nice turn on the left but sees his deep cross float away from the danger zone. Not enough bodies in there for the home team.
    • 17' The game is still yet to resume. Chelsea are about to throw the ball back to the hosts while Ranger continues to receive treatment off the field.
    • 16' Ranger is Swindon's top scorer this term so the hosts will be hoping he can continue. There's some seriously heavy strapping going onto that thigh now.
    • 15' Nile Ranger is down with what appears to be a thigh problem.
    • 14' Indeed, it's a quiet bow for Schwarzer so far, who makes history as Chelsea's oldest ever player!
    • 13' Chelsea just about shading it but no real opportunities at either end as of yet.
    • 12' STAT: Swindon have not lost at home since a 1-0 defeat by Bury on February 26.
    • 11' Luiz crashes in a 40 yard free-kick but sees his effort pushed to safety by Wes Foderingham.
    • 10' CHELSEA sub: Van Ginkel limps off and is replaced by Ramires. A real blow for the Dutchman who would have wanted to make an impression tonight after being handed a rare opportunity.
    • 9' Torres wins a free-kick for Chelsea in a decent position 40 yards out.
    • 8' LATEST: West Ham 2-0 Cardiff. The Hammers off to a flyer.

    • 7' The Dutchman had some lengthy treatment but appears to be running it off. It had looked like a nasty injury for the youngster.
    • 6' Marco van Ginkel is down injured for the visitors after his knee appeared to buckle underneath him in the midfield.
    • 5' Some firsts for Chelsea tonight: Youngster Lewis Baker is on the Blues' first team bench while Michael Essien has the honour of the armband for the first time in a competitive game.
    • 4' Good run from Cesar Azpilicueta down the right. The Spaniard evades three challenges but sees the power of his cut back deflect to safety for the hosts.
    • 3' A bright start from Swindon who look like they are going to have a go at attacking that Chelsea back four.
    • 2' There are 11 League Cup ties tonight. Keep up-to-date with all of the goal action via our multiplex.

    • 1' KICK OFF! Chelsea get proceedings underway.
    • 19.40 STAT: Swindon won the only previous League Cup tie between the sides, a 3-0 victory in a second-round tie at the County Ground in 1963.
    • 19.35 Chelsea are the bookies favourites to win the trophy for a fifth time. It's a competition Mourinho has some form in too. The Blues secured two League Cups during his first spell at the helm. Indeed, the 3-2 aet win over Liverpool in 2005 was his first piece of silverware in England.
    • 19.30 Torres leads the line tonight with Demba Ba and Samuel Eto'o on the bench for the Blues. But who is having the better season so far? Check out our blog about Chelsea's frontmen.

    • 19.28 Is this going to be a big night for Mata? Chelsea's player of the year for two years on the spin will probably feel hard done by and with some justification. But Mourinho will be looking for a reaction tonight. The Blues boss said: "I hope he (Mata) tells me on the pitch, 'You are wrong, I am the best, and I have to play every game.'"
    • 19.25 Swindon boss, Mark Cooper: "We're going to use it as a no-pressure game and hopefully we'll play freely and enjoy it. It's a bonus game for us because no one really gives you a hope when you're playing a team as big as Chelsea. When you play in the Capital One Cup sometimes you get drawn against teams who rest a lot of their players so if they don't quite fancy it then you knock them out. That's what Bradford did last year. You do take inspiration from that."
    • 19.20 Swindon are currently 11th in League One and reached the last 16 of this competition last term. The Robins have already seen off QPR and Torquay in the first two rounds and are no pushovers on home turf. In fact, Mark Cooper's side are unbeaten in over six months at the County Ground.
    • 19.15 Swindon centre back Darren Ward: "The concentration part of it is really important. You can be sidetracked for many reasons - there are a lot more press there, the TV is there, there are a lot more fans - there are a lot of reasons why you can be distracted so concentration is very important. That goes for every level. That’s probably going to be the most important area. “You’ve got to embrace it, you want to enjoy it but you have to make sure you do what you have to do to get the right result."

    • 19.00 As expected, Chelsea give a start to the out of favour Juan Mata while veteran keeper, Mark Schwarzer makes his Blues bow between the sticks. There are also places in the line-up for David Luiz, Willian and Fernando Torres.
