    • Huddersfield Town
    • Peterborough United
    • 90+4' FULL-TIME! That is that, three goals in seven minutes give Posh a place in the Championship for next season.
    • 90+3' We are just seconds away now.
    • 90+2' Tomlin replaced by David Ball as Posh wind the clock down.
    • 90+1' We will have three minutes of added time.
    • 90' Whelpdale runs the clock down with some silky skills out wide on the left. It's a party atmosphere i nthe Peterborough end.
    • 89' Peterborough really should make it four as Mackail-Smith wins the ball, Boyd opts not to shoot and squares for Tomlin, who fires over the bar.
    • 89' Whelpdale gets in behind the defence but is adjudged offside. Some rare respite for the Huddersfield backline.
    • 87' What a spurt that was from Peterborough. Seven magical minutes have taken them into the Championship. Tremendous.
    • 85' GOAL! McCann scores a superb free-kick! A curling effort flies into the top corner leaving Bennett with no chance. Huddersfield have capitulated, and Peterborough are going up.
    • 84' Tommy Rowe replaced by Chris Whelpdale as Posh eat up time.
    • 84' Mackail-Smith draws another foul as Peterborough fans chant "we are going up".
    • 82' Now Rowe has a shot blocked as Peterborough pile forward. They have grabbed this match firmly by the scruff of the neck.
    • 82' So how do Huddersfield respond now? A minute and a half of madness has cost them dearly.
    • 80' GOAL! Mackail-Smith scores the second in 90 seconds! Boyd cuts the ball back to his team-mate and the Scotland international's curling effort takes a deflection off Kay and dribbles into the net. How cruel for Huddersfield.
    • 79' Danny Cadamarteri comes on for Ward as Huddersfield aim to get one back.
    • 78' GOAL! Boyd wins a free-kick right on the edge of the box. McCann's delivery is wicked and Rowe ghosts in to flick the ball home!
    • 76' Controversy as Kay brings down Mackail-Smith but is spared a red card due to the covering defender. Peterborough fail to make anything from the free-kick though.
    • 75' A great chance on the break for Huddersfield but the square pass for Afobe fails to run into the path of the on-loan Arsenal man.
    • 74' The corner is too long. Another wasted opportunity in a game that is a bit short of quality in all honesty.
    • 73' Afobe looks to break away but is penalised for handball. Posh take the free-kick quickly and Boyd fails to control when taking possession of the ball in the box. Corner to Peterborough.
    • 72' Now Roberts is pulled up for a foul and the scrappy nature of this contest continues.
    • 71' George Boyd gets frustrated after being surrounded and robbed of possession and gives away a free-kick. Nothing doing from the set-piece though.
    • 70' Jones gets a touch to a corner from Roberts, taking it out of touching distance from any of his Huddersfield team-mates. The pressure is still on Peterborough though.
    • 68' Lee looks a bit groggy and the referee is keen to ensure he is ready to continue. It appears as though he is okay though. Ward is fine as well.
    • 67' Now Lee's luck continues to desert him as he goes down clutching his head following an aerial collision with Ward. Both men take the chance to compose themselves.
    • 65' Lee, just on as a substitute, loses control when juggling the ball and in an attempt to keep it, only plunges his boot into Peltier. A yellow card is the inevitable outcome.
    • 64' Charlie Lee replaces Grant Basey after the Peterborough man suffers a hamstring injury.
    • 62' Both sides have substitutes warming up so we could see a couple of changes soon.
    • 61' Afobe hares into the box in an attempt to meet a cross from the right from Hunt and goes to ground with the Huddersfield fans baying for a penalty. Little was alongside the forward but there wasn't enough contact to justify a spot-kick.
    • 60' So now both sides have hit the woodwork, though we are still lacking a goal at Old Trafford.
    • 59' Ward shrugs off Basey on the right wing and cuts in before unleashing a shot from a tight angle that pings off the top of the crossbar. A lovely effort from the on-loan forward.
    • 57' Roberts, again, swings in a cross from the left and Basey gets a nervy touch to the ball as Peterborough just about deal with it. Huddersfield are enjoying a good spell of play.
    • 56' Roberts does brilliantly to stretch out a leg and connect with a deep cross from Peltier. Afobe is lurking to convert but Bennett heads clear to deny Huddersfield.
    • 54' Now Jones is tested by a dangerous cross from Jack Hunt as Huddersfield increase the pressure on the Posh defence. He produces a decent punch clear.
    • 53' Hunt slips in Ward for Huddersfield but Basey is across quickly and deals with the danger with a sliding tackle, although he gives away a throw.
    • 52' Roberts puts in an early cross as Huddersfield break but Peterborough's defence is alert and clears.
    • 51' Grant McCann has the shot from the set-piece and curls the ball up and over the wall and onto the roof of the net. Not a bad effort.
    • 50' Clarke trips Boyd and Peterborough have a free-kick in a dangerous area 20 yards from goal.
    • 49' Afobe is caught offside again and has been guilty of that today. Perhaps he picked up some tips from Emmanuel Daebayor when he was at Arsenal.
    • 48' Huddersfield are now attacking the Stretford End at Old Trafford, where their fans are based.
    • 47' Let's hope for a bit more goalmouth action in this second half.
    • 46' KICK-OFF!
    • 45+4' HALF-TIME
    • 45+4' Another glorious chance for Mackail-Smith! Boyd pokes a pass through to the striker but he lacks composure with the goal at his mercy and slides a shot wide of the post. He really should have scored that.
    • 45+2' Afobe collides with Bennett when contesting for the ball and appears to tweak something in his back. The Arsenal forward requires treatment and is in some pain.
    • 45+1' Another corner pin balls around the box before landing at the feet of Afobe, but as he twists and shoots in one motion he only succeeds in putting the ball wide.
    • 45+1' We will have three minutes of stoppage time.
    • 45' Roberts goes for goal with a curling effort from a wide angle and his shot is creeping inside the far post before Jones hurls himself full-stretch to tip the ball wide.
    • 44' Boyd gives away a foul in a dangerous position when tripping Peltier from behind.
    • 43' A clash of heads between Clarke and Tommy Rowe necessitates a stoppage. Clarke's arm caught his Peterborough opponent but it was not deliberate. Both players are okay.
    • 42' So just the one real chance so far - the one that was wasted by Mackail-Smith after only four minutes. Will he live to regret only hitting the post?
    • 41' With his flowing locks and languid movement, you could mistake Boyd for Robert Pires on occasion. Not Robert Pires this season obviously, as he's mostly been sat on the bench.
    • 40' Huddersfield's Hunt is booked for a messy challenge on Tomlin from behind.
    • 39' Lovely skill from George Boyd, who meanders through the Huddersfield midfield and plays in Mackail-Smith. However, Kay is across to slide in.
    • 38' Dead even in terms of possession so far, while Posh have had the best chance and Huddersfield the greater weight of chances. It is evenly poised and difficult to predict a winner at the moment.
    • 36' Clarke is gesturing furiously to his Huddersfield players on the touchline but he will probably be satisfied with the pattern of play so far. That early chance aside, Peterborough haven't been too dangerous.
    • 35' John in the comments box: "It is many years since I last saw a POSH team play live, because of my ill health. But I used to stand on the terraces at London Road end & cheer on the Blues. I wish the team all success today. Mr. Fry you made the right move when you came to Pe'erburro."
    • 34' Peltier is involved in another poor challenge and this time he is booked. The Huddersfield man went in late and strong on Wesolowski. The Posh players were furious with him.
    • 33' Tomlin goes long to Mackail-Smith but he fails to control the ball on his chest and slips on the Old Trafford turf.
    • 32' Peterborough want a penalty when Wesolowski nicks the ball away from Gary Naysmith and throws himself to ground. The referee is not interested though.
    • 31' Roberts digs out another cross but it soars over to the back post and over the head of Ward. Huddersfield have picked up momentum.
    • 30' Lee Tomlin goes into the book for bringing down Jack Hunt as the Huddersfield man charged downfield.
    • 29' Lovely stuff from Mackail-Smith as he caresses a pass around the corner for Boyd, but the latter fails to return the favour as his pass is cut out.
    • 28' Now Afobe is in the centre of the action. Gary Roberts digs out a superb cross from the left and Afobe attempts to pull the ball down and swivel, but only succeeds in taking the ball out of the path of team-mate Ward.
    • 27' Afobe has scored plenty of goals for the Arsenal reserves and youths and has represented England at youth level, but his touch looks a bit off today. He has failed to control on a few occasions now.
    • 26' Peterborough forward Lee Tomlin produces a clever back heel but it lacks the accuracy to find a team-mate.
    • 24' After a period of stoppage, Boyd sportingly returns the ball to Huddersfield keeper Ian Bennett.
    • 23' Lee Peltier is down rubbing the back of his head having been caught in an aerial challenge by Posh's grant Basey, but it appears the former Liverpool man will be fine to continue.
    • 22' That was a frantic period and both teams are showing admirable ambition in attack. This could be very open in the second half when the teams get a bit ragged.
    • 21' Afobe fails to control a cross from Peltier properly when he should really have tested Jones in the Peterborough goal. Posh clear after Ryan Bennett sticks his leg in and race up the other end where Huddersfield have to take evasive action to prevent Mackail-Smith latching onto the ball.
    • 20' A good chance for Huddersfield as Mark Little spoons a cross from Kevin Kilbane up in the air and Danny Ward heads back across goal, with Peter Clarke nodding it on target. Jones was across to catch though.
    • 18' Gary Roberts delivers a cross from the left but Posh defender Grant Basey clears well from the centre of the box. That was a tricky delivery to deal with.
    • 17' Benik Afobe wants a free-kick when spinning around Mark Little and going to ground. But there was little in it and the referee waves play on.
    • 15' Lee Peltier is guilty of a poor challenge on George Boyd. He went in too hard on the Peterborough forward and his trailing leg swung through. Boyd is okay to continue and Peltier is lucky not to be booked.
    • 14' Peterborough are playing the ball around with real panache at times, but Huddersfield are holding firm following that early chance for Mackail-Smith.
    • 13' A worry for Huddersfield as Gary Roberts requires treatment. But he should be okay.
    • 12' No luck from the second corner though as Peterborough throw bodies in front of Lee Peltier and prevent him from heading at goal.
    • 11' Gary Roberts swings in a cross at a second attempt following a corner and Huddersfield win another set-piece when James Wesolowski deflects a header round the post with his torso.
    • 10' Boyd looks in the mood and he attempts to sneak into the box and towards goal, only to be denied by a fine block from defender Peter Clarke.
    • 9' Huddersfield have only failed to score once in 38 games, and they certainly look potent so far today. Defence is their weak point though.
    • 8' Now it is George Boyd's turn to prick up in his free role and collect possession before taking aim from 20-odd yards. However, his effort lacks the pace or accuracy to trouble Ian Bennett.
    • 7' Peterborough have been energised by the chance though and are putting Huddersfield under real pressure from corners and in open play.
    • 6' What a chance that was for the striker, who of course will be leaving the club after today. He needs two goals for 100 for Peterborough, and should now be on 99. He had to score.
    • 5' Craig Mackail-Smith has to score! The forward latches onto a pass and drives through the heart of the Huddersfield defence, only to see his effort take a touch off sliding defender Anthony Kay and strike the outside of the post.
    • 3' It has been a quiet start to the game so far, with both sides sussing each other out. Huddersfield will be marginally the more happy side though.
    • 2' A very unconvincing start from Peterborough goalkeeper Paul Jones as he skews two kicks. Huddersfield don't profit as a result but they could seek to exploit any nerves there.
    • 1' KICK OFF!
    • 15.57 The players have emerged from the tunnel to a raucous reception at Old Trafford. Peterborough's fans are outnumbered two to one though and it's basically a home game for Huddersfield.
    • 15.55 These two sides have only met once in the play-offs and that came all the way back in 1992, back when Darren Ferguson was still working under Sir Alex at Manchester United. Peterborough won 4-3 on aggregate in the semi-finals and went on to win promotion.
    • 15.50 Huddersfield lost in the semi-final last season in what was Clarke's first full season in management. The former Newcastle hero has done an excellent job with the Terriers, who are looking to reach the second tier of English football for the first time since 2000-01.
    • 15.45 It's a big game for Peterborough striker Craig Mackail-Smith today as he is expected to leave the club this summer, whether they secure promotion or not. QPR, Norwich and West Ham have all shown an interest, but he could sign off by reaching a century for Posh. The Scotland international needs two today.
    • 15.40 But Peterborough could be boosted by the fact that manager Darren Ferguson, who returned to London Road in January and earlier in his career did take the club into the second tier, will feel right at home at Old Trafford. He of course played for Manchester United and his father is a fairly prominent figure around these parts, even if last night didn't go according to plan. Champions League Paper Round.
    • 15.35 Huddersfield must be favourites having finished third in the league, while Lee Clark's side are also on an unbeaten league run of 27 games. Peterborough finished the season in fourth and their matches averaged nearly four goals a game across the campaign. Expect entertainment today.
    • 15.30 Huddersfield are able to field Lee Peltier despite a recent hamstring injury, while on-loan Arsenal forward Benik Afobe gets the nod. Peterborough can call on Lee Tomlin, Gabriel Zakuani and Grant McCann.
    • 15.25 TEAMS: Huddersfield: Bennett, Hunt, Peter Clarke, Kay, Naysmith, Roberts, Kilbane, Peltier, Arfield, Ward, Afobe. Subs: Colgan, McCombe, Gudjonsson, Cadamarteri, Novak, Lee, Rhodes. /// Peterborough: Jones, Little, Bennett, Zakuani, Basey, Wesolowski, McCann, Rowe, Boyd, Tomlin, Mackail-Smith. Subs: Richardson, Langmead, Lee, Ball, Whelpdale, Mendez-Laing, Newell.
