    • 79 GOAL! Messi has four! 50 for the season in La Liga and his 72nd in all competitions! The Argentine tucks away another penalty, this time going to the keeper's right, to make it 4-0 at Camp Nou.
    • 74 GOAL! Messi scores again! The Argentine is set free down the left and, with defenders in close pusuit, he buries his shot into the bottom right corner. Great finish for his 71st (yes, 71st!) goal of the season.
    • 63 GOAL! Messi drills the ball in off the post from the penalty spot after he was fouled to bag his 70th goal of the season in all competitions. Barca lead 2-0.
    • 36 Espanyol's Alvaro goes for goal from 45 yards! It was a speculative effort that gets some whistles from the home fans - but it wasn't far away!
    • 14 Joan Verdu goes close with a free-kick that misses the right post by just a whisker.
    • 12' GOAL! Messi scores for Barca! The Argentine clips a beautiful free-kick over the Espanyol wall to put Barca 1-0 ahead. The forward is now on 69 goals for the season in all competitions.
    • 10' A somewhat quiet start at the Camp Nou as Espanyol repel Barca's early pressure.
    • 2' A huge banner adorns the Camp Nou, emblazened with the words "T'Estimem Pep!" ("We love you Pep!)

  4. Ian can you explain why superstar Messi couldn't score against Chelsea who were without they're two main centre backs and down to 10 men? Come to think of it,how many goals did Messi score in the World Cup for Argentina? The team that beat Man utd will probably win the UEFA cup. Will Chelsea win the Champions league? Ronaldo is a better player because he has done it in two separate leagues. If Messi goes to England or Italy and achieves success there, then you can call him a class above everyone else. Mate,I COULD look good in that Barcelona team.

  13. 70th goal of the season, incredible, Messi is the best footballer in the world. Only in a videogame can you score 70 goals in a season. unless you are messi of course.
