    • Granada CF
    • FC Barcelona
    • 90+3' Barca will be pleased to have got the three points, but it was a far from convincing performance. Real Madrid will have been looking on with interest.
    • 90+1' Dani Benitez is off for a second yellow. He's caught offside and kicks the ball away out of anger. Unbelievably stupid.
    • 90' Villa with a terrible pass to Messi. All he needed was to play square and Messi would have been in.
    • 89' Mollo is in a good position, but his low cross is weak and cut out early. It's all Granada now though...
    • 88' Nyon is gives a yellow for an off the ball trip on David Villa. Quite possibly accidental.
    • 87' Granada with a bit of pressure now with only five minutes to go. Caution to the wind time...
    • 86' Messi's lay off ti Iniesta is just behind him. He would have been clear through there.
    • 85' The move again just doesn't come off. Messi's little ball inside is again claimed by Roberto before Cuenca can get there.
    • 84' Barca sub: Xavi is replaced by Keita.
    • 83' Messi's effort is deflected wide for a corner. The keeper rather dramatically flies across his goal even though it was nowhere near going in.
    • 82' Roberto clears early to try to start the counter, but it falls straight to a Barca defender.
    • 80' Messi almost gets in, but Roberto does well to race off his line and claim just in time.
    • 79' Xavi unleashes a fierce shot that's not too far wide, though Roebrto wasn't worried.
    • 78' Geijo doesn't read his partner's intentions and stays rooted to the spot and the pass comes over the top. It'll be worrying for Barca that they're not putting this game to bed.
    • 77' Geijo for a second looks to be in, but the linesman flags for offside. It looked like he was level though.
    • 76' Cuenca goes down in the area, but it's really not a foul. He was just out hustled there.
    • 75' Geijo does well and wins a throw for Granada high up the pitch. Barca straight back on the ball though.
    • 74' Villa is caught offside when he really shouldn't be. He has hours to look across the line and keep himself on.
    • 73' Busquets is brought down by Rico when on the charge, Barca immediately get play restarted.
    • 72' Barca substitution: Cesc is replaced by Iniesta.
    • 71' Cuenca with a fine chance; he's through and tries to play the ball past the advancing Roberto, who just gets enough on the ball to stop it dead and he grabs hold of it.
    • 69' Messi this time loses the ball. Barca ust aren't firing at the minute. Villa puts in a lovely low cross though, but it beats everyone and flies all the way across goal away.
    • 68' Villa and Ces with the one-two on the edge of the box. Rico just about manages to prevent Villa from getting through on goal.
    • 67' Barca are furious that a corner's been given to Granada. There's pushing in the box and Barca win the foul.
    • 66' Cuenca handball, it's deemed to be deliberate so he's booked.
    • 65' Cesc scuttles into the area, but his left footed shot is dissapointing and rolls into the arms of Roberto.
    • 64' Busquets has gone down holding his leg and Dani Benitez is booked for a standing scissor challenge. A strange tackle, and an entirely unnecessary one.
    • 63' Benitez is quick, but he can't quite get to the through ball before Valdes. That'll cheer the crowd though.
    • 61' Villa with a poor pass across the edge of the area. Busquets decides he has to slide in to claim it. It's not a yellow in a million years, but the referee shows him a yellow.
    • 60' The ball held up just slightly as it bounced and perhaps just gave him enough time to get there.
    • 59' Fabulous goalline clearance from Mainz! Messi is put through after a terrible clearance from Roberto. The Argentinian dinks it over the advancing keeper, but Mainz just about slides in time to clear.
    • 58' Villa tries to shape one into the top corner, but it's woefully wide off his weaker foot.
    • 57' Another corner, this time won by Villa. Barca challenge Arsenal for the worst corner takers in Europe and it's not different here. At least they're brilliant at everything else.
    • 56' Maxwell forces the corner. David Villa comes on the replace the injured Pedro. No dip in quality at all. If anything they've just got better.
    • 55' Pedro has gone down after turning his ankle pretty nastily. He's stretchered off. We'll have to wait and see if he's alright.
    • 54' Romero with a high foot and he's off. He was already on a yellow and that was pretty foolish.
    • 53' The corner is woeful. The ball makes its way back to Valdes and he unusually just pumps it upfield.
    • 52' Cuenca with a couple of step overs, though they're a bit halfhearted. He wins the corner though...
    • 51' Abidal commits the foul on the halfway line and this is the first bit of posession in this half for Granada.
    • 50' Alves loses the ball again as he tries to turn back outside on the edge of the area. Just have a shot!
    • 49' Poor pass from Alves as he plays behind Pedro with the Spaniard obviously wating it ahead of him.
    • 48' Cesc pings a volley at goal from a dropping ball, about 25 yards out. It has enough power on it, but it's straight at Roberto.
    • 47' Xavi almost slips the ball through to Messi' but it's a foot or so out of his reach. Barca will look to increase the tempo in this half.
    • 46' Granda get us under way in the second half and are still in touch with the Champions.
    • 45' Pedo has a poor effort from a tight angle and it goes miles over. All in all this has been pretty disappointing from the Champions so far. A goal, but no real proper chances beyond that moment of magic.
    • 44' It's 77% possession to Barca in this half. Didn't really have to say which team it would be, but still...
    • 43' They're looking for any holes on the edge of that Granada box, but defensively they're atnding pretty firm at the moment.
    • 42' Barca are keeping the ball for minutes on end. Cesc eventually gets the ball to the byline and wins a corner...
    • 41' He'll have to be careful as he is on a yellow already.
    • 40' This time the short one; Cesc dinked ball from a narrow angle is headed clear and Alves brings down when Granada look to break away.
    • 39' Messi twists and turns and releases Alves, who wins another corner...
    • 38' Granada have picked up three yellow cards so far, all to their attacking three.
    • 36' Cuenca and Cesc combine nicely and the ball makes its way to Maxwell whose cross is cut out. Granada race away on the attack, Romero has a go from 30 yards, but it's blocked.
    • 35' Sequieira dives and wins the foul. Romero takes away Cesc's legs and is yellow carded.
    • 34' Goal! Barcelona 1-0 Granada - There was only going to be one outcome. Xavi curls a beautiful effort inside the post, leaving the keeper with no chance.
    • 33' Barca win a freekick in a very dangerous position after Xavi is fouled...
    • 32' Messi's pass inside evades Xavi. Barca have no pushed up beyond the halfway line and are holding a line level with the edge of the centre circle.
    • 31' The crowd cheer a throw won off Pedro. It's handed straight back to the Champions.
    • 30' Roberto's miscontrolled twice now, letting the ball under his foot and putting himself under pressure to clear. He this time hits the ball against Messi and gets lucky in winning the goalkick.
    • 29' Abidal this time with an effort on target, but Roberto clears at his near post.
    • 28' Messi races towards the box , lays off for Alves and his cross is cut out with Messi steaming into the area.
    • 26' Alves is carded for treading on Benitez's foot. It's really nothing though. Accidental for sure.
    • 25' Benitez is tenacious and wins the battle against Alves. Cesc loses the ball when trying to play into Messi and it's back to building from the defence again.
    • 24' Pedro wins a corner. Barca for once just chuck it in, Granada head it clear. Alves puts in the low cross from the right and wins another corner.
    • 23' The Granada fans are 'ole' -ing any little passage of possession their team are having, which needless to say isn't very long.
    • 22' Alves flips a little cross up to Pedro's head. He really should score from seven yards, but can't even hit the target as it misses the far post.
    • 21' The first shot on target of the match as Xavi strikes from 30 yards. It's decent enough, but Roberto fists it away.
    • 20' If you win a corner against Barca you have to do more with it than that. It's deep, way too deep and goes straight out for a goalkick.
    • 19' Benitez gets in behind Alves, who gives him a little tug, though not enough for a foul. Granada win the corner though.
    • 18' Maxwell tries a one-two with Xavi on the edge of the box, but Xavi's ball is intercepted.
    • 17' Cuenca loses the ball for Barca, but they immediately win it back.
    • 16' Alves tries to play in Pedro and it's again cut out. The pattern for this match is set...
    • 15' Cuenca tries a similar shot to Messi from the other side. It's not as close though and goes about a yard or two wide.
    • 13' Messi dinks outside, then in, in a flash and curls an effort to the far post. It's inches wide. That was outrageous. Any other player, that would be a staple for Youtube compilations, but for this man it's commonplace.
    • 12' Xavi with the attempt at the slicing throughball. It's again cut out by a very narrow defence.
    • 11' Cesc and Messi combine. The Argentinian tries to get away the shot from the edge of the area. The effort's blocked.
    • 10' Mascherano is again tripped. They seem to be targeting him tonight.
    • 9' No Pique and Puyol again, but it doesn't tend to matter much in the league at least as Barca are barely ever put under any pressure defensively.
    • 8' Cuenca wins a throw off Siqueira, but Busquets runs the ball out of play to hand a throw to Granada.
    • 7' For Cuenca to be chucked in the first team, you just know he's going to be ridiculaously talented. It's always exciting seeing a new Barca product.
    • 6' Maxwell tries to pass into the path of the debutant Cuenca, but it's too far ahead of the boy.
    • 5' Messi's leaning offside and the lino gets it right. The little magician hasn't scored away from home yet this season, so he'll be desperate to tonight.
    • 4' Barca have pushed up to the halfway line as they usually do. Uche's pretty pacy though.
    • 3' The Argentinian's alright though. Messi almost brings down a Xavi ball in the area, but it's just too far ahead of him.
    • 2' All what you'd expect here, with Barca taking early possession. Uche picks up a yellow in under two minutes as he rakes down the back of Mascherano's ankle. Deserved.
    • 1' Granada immediately play a long ball over the top, but Valdes is there to claim comfortably. Barca are shooting from right to left here.

    • 18:50 The European champions were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Sevilla on Saturday after Argentine forward Lionel Messi had a stoppage time penalty saved. With Real Madrid winning convincingly at Malaga, Pep Guardiola's side dropped to third.
    • 18:45 Granada’s two biggest defeats in the top flight have both been against Barcelona (0-4 in 57/58 and 8-2 in 60/61). You wouldn't bet against it being a similar affair today.
    • 18:40 Barcelona have averaged 74.8% possession in matches this season, 13% more than their nearest rival in the league in this (Madrid 61.8%). Granada are the joint-lowest-scoring side ever after eight matches in Primera, equalling Deportivo (1967), Atlético (1969), Espanyol (1971) and Real Betis (1973).
    • 18:35 Fabri Gonzalez, Granada's coach, on facing Barca: "Everyone thinks they are the best side in the world. It's going to be difficult against a team who, whoever they are playing, are going to have 70 per cent of the ball."
    • 18:30 Pep Guardiola on the challenge Granada will pose: "[They] are brave, willing to take risks and very dynamic. A number of their bad results haven’t been deserved at all. We think we will be in for a different game than we had against Sevilla. It'll be a good test for us. We have put in a lot of effort in a short time and we'll have to see how we respond."
    • 18:26 Uche and Fran Rico are Granada's joint top goalscorers this season, with a goal apiece. Barcelona have four players who have scored more; Lionel Messi, Xavi, David Villa, and Cesc Fabregas.
    • 18:20 Barcelona are missing defenders Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique due to injury, though the former is only a precautionary measure, while Ibrahim Afellay and Alexis Sanchez are also unavailable. Granada are deprived of Carlos Martins, Hassan Yebda and Richard Boateng as they take on the Spanish champions.
