    • Bolton Wanderers
    • Blackburn Rovers
    • 90+4' Rovers have snatched it at the death! Cruel on Bolton, and they are dragged back into the relegation dogfight!
    • 90+3' Rovers run the clock down, bringing Matt Derbyshire on for Santa Cruz.
    • 90+2' Gary Megson is about to suffer his first home defeat as Bolton manager. There is no time now.
    • 90' GOOOOAAAALLL!!!! Jason Roberts wins it for Blackburn with a stunning individual effort! He runs 50 yards to the edge of the box, and his shot takes a telling deflection past Jaaskelainen!
    • 87' What a chance for Jason Roberts!! He collects a Khizanishvili long ball and beats O'Brien but the defender sticks out a leg and just manages to deflect a shot.
    • 84' Bentley lets fly from a 28-yard free-kick... Jaaskelainen touches it just wide!
    • 83' Dunn tries a long range volley, but it is always drifting wide of the left-hand post.
    • 81' Referee Dean plays a contentious advantage, but it won't matter as Davies sidefoots his 40-yard shot straight to Friedel.
    • 80' A pacy cross from the right nearly connects with Roberts but Jaaskelainen is well out to claim it.
    • 77' Another disappointing Benni McCarthy performance come to an end as he comes off for Jason Roberts.
    • 73' Text commentators everywhere groan as Zhurab Khizanishvili replaces Andre Ooijer. The Dutchman is feeling his hamstring.
    • 71' Just wide by Pedersen! Bolton fail to clear a throw and McCarthy finds the Norwegian who drags his shot narrowly past the far post.
    • 68' Andrex stops play. Some wags behind the goal (wags in the old-fashioned sense, not wives and girlfriends) have lobbed a toilet roll that is stuck in Jaaskelainen's goal. The Finn very conscientiously clears the mess up before taking a goal kick.
    • 66' Wilhelmsson crosses from the left for Stelios, who lays it back to Davies and the shot it blocked. It wouldn't have counted anyway - Stelios was offside.
    • 65' A bumper bout of head tennis results in the ball reaching Guthrie on the right, who completely miskicks. A great advert for the English game, that passage of play...
    • 63' That foul is Cohen's last act of the day. In the football sense, at least. He is replaced by Wilhelmsson, who finally has a chance to strut his stuff.
    • 62' Cohen upends Steven Reid and that is his first booking in English football!
    • 61' Santa Cruz finds Pedersen on the left side of the box, but the Norwegian's first touch is not great and his shot is blocked.
    • 59' David Dunn dives to make a defensive header and ends up directing it just over. A close shave for the Blackburn midfielder.
    • 58' Gavin Wright is clearly a fan of the Royal Shakespeare Company: "As a budding Rovers fan, I'm very happy to see Mark Hughes opting to stay on with Blackburn rather than heading off to the dismal Tyneside. He's surrounded himself with a solid team this campaign, and hopefully he can inspire some more confidence out of McCarthy to help out the red-hot RSC." Oh, right, he means Santa Cruz...
    • 57' "You're taking me off for a bloke with a bandaged head?" That disgusted look on Ivan Campo's face says it all as he is brought off for Gavin McCann.
    • 55' Told you the game had a Sam Allardyce feel: Davies and Nolan make a nuisance of themselves in the Blackburn box - Davies by challenging the keeper for a high ball, Nolan by pushing him after the catch.
    • 53' GOAL!!! Blackburn level through Christopher Samba! He leaps above Michalik and his downward header bounces down and over Guthrie on the line!! Jaaskelainen was nowhere near it.
    • 52' "What's with Ricardo Vaz Te?" asks Luis. He's out with a knee injury at present, but it is fair to say Anelka's departure gives him a better chance of getting a game.
    • 50' Chris Samba attempts the most ambitious shot of all time from just inside the Bolton half. He manages to get it out for a goal kick, but only just.
    • 48' Pedersen's cross from the left is missed by Andy O'Brien and Santa Cruz fires!! Saved by Jaaskelainen! Let's hope that didn't wake Mark Turner's kid...
    • 46' Bolton kick off but it is the visitors who have the first proper attack of the half, Santa Cruz dragging a cross-cum-shot to nobody in particular. He might have gone for goal there.
    • - Christian attempts to shed light on the Wilhelmsson situation: "hey, as you know bolton are loaning Wilhelmsson from nantes, he's a decent winger with alot of pace, which we saw in world cup 2006, however, bolton, needing a few players because of anelka moving to chelsea and diouf in africa, why dont they play him, he's a play maker with alot of skill?" I've always thought he was a good player, but both Sammy Lee and Gary Megson have obviously not been as impressed. Strange.
    • - Anything interesting to say? Say it to ukfeedback@eurosport.com!
    • - Can Alex Roxon resist the temptation to gloat? You decide: "I'm cooking a little "told you so" pie as I type." Mr Roxon was the visionary who pooh-poohed my prediction of a goalless draw.
    • 45+1' Half-time, and that Nolan strike has punctuated the mediocrity like a bolt of lightning. Bolton lead at the break.
    • 45' Santa Cruz meets the free-kick with a powerful header, but he directs it several yards over the bar.
    • 44' Ivan Campo picks up his fifth booking of the season and that means a suspension. Also a dangerous free-kick to Blackburn.
    • 43' Joey O'Brien found O'Brien on the left side of the box, and he just laced it in from the angle. Remarkable goal. His fourth goal of the season - that makes him Bolton's top scorer now Anelka has gone.
    • 42' GOAL!!! SENSATIONAL STRIKE BY KEVIN NOLAN!!! The Bolton skipper meets a lobbed cross with a perfect dipping volley that arrows into the far corner. Friedel doesn't even move!
    • 39' You can see why big Sam liked it here so much. The crowd get restless every time Bolton pass it short, baying for them to lump a long ball into the Blackburn area.
    • 37' Blackburn have a free-kick 30 yards out, hammered low by Reid and straight at Jaaskelainen.
    • 35' Another misplaced Morten Gamst Pedersen supports 'Doctor''s argument. He may only be 26, but he's been woefully out of form this season.
    • 32' 'Doctor' asks: "Would it be fair, if not very polite, to say that we have two teams full of has-beens here? I'm thinking Nolan, Campo and Stelios; Pedersen, Samba and Reid; were all good players that seem to have lost their touch." I'm not sure if the Blackburn players would be too happy with that characterisation, but some of the Bolton players have certainly seen better days.
    • 29' Blackburn fail to make anything from another corner. This Bolton performance is certainly reminiscent of the Allardyce years. And that - for Bolton at least - is probably a good thing.
    • 28' Mark Turner has a motive for hoping Roque Santa Cruz draws a blank today: "i live in Peru and my neighbours, who are Paraguayan, shout and scream every time Roque even gets near the ball. When he scores (in other games, maybe not today..zzzzzzz) you can hear them from about a quarter of a mile away. The baby is asleep here...i hope Roque doesn't put one away."
    • 25' Jerome van Donk asks: "Jerome from Holland, big Bolton fan, wandering if Bolton have enough quality in front to score goals now Anelka is at Chelsea and Diouf not playing?" Well, not really. Davies, Nolan and Stelios might chip in but honestly they will struggle.
    • 23' A poor defensive header from Ricardo Gardner gives Blackburn a corner that Pedersen will take... punched unconvincingly away by Jaaskelainen.
    • 21' Huh? A foul is given against Blackburn, although nobody seems to know what the offence was. The inevitable long ball into the area is headed clear.
    • 19' Bentley has a crack from a 30-yard free-kick and that isn;t far away, dipping just over the bar. A decent effort.
    • 18' Mr Brady not only throws the prettiest spiral in pro football, he is also a perceptive soccer analyst. It's dull fare at present.
    • 15' T Brady, whom I can only assume is New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, writes: "I am sorry to say but this game has got 0-0 written all over it unless someone can come up with something special." Congratulations on the win last night, Sir, you really are a fine player.
    • 13' A swirling Bolton free-kick finds Davies at the far post, and his header comes back off the legs of Friedel! Giannakopoulos just cannot wrap his leg around the rebound.
    • 11' Pedersen teases a great ball towards Santa Cruz, but the ball skips off the turf and he cannot reach it.
    • 9' David Bentley does like a long shot, but that 40 yarder could be travelling at twice the speed and it still wouldn't beat Jaaskelainen.
    • 6' Reid slices the ball out for a throw, but as he does so Nolan commits a silly foul and Blackburn can relieve the pressure.
    • 5' Our Icelandic friend Vigfus is still with us, and comments: "I fancy Hughes to stick with his Blackburn job, he has built a well-playing team with McCarthy and Santa Cruz in the spearhead, i think it would be a daft move to go to newcastle, although they have a great attack their defense is non-existant and the board is inept. I was also wandering, how come McCarthy isn't in the South African squad, he's brilliant?" Hard to argue with any of that, except maybe Newcastle's great attack.
    • 4' Cohen is lucky to escape a booking for what is often termed an 'X-rated' foul. This was more like a '15'.
    • 3' Ivan Campo launches a long throw into the Blackburn box from the right. It causes brief panic, but Rovers clear.
    • 1' Blackburn kick off in their red-and-black change kit, kicking from right to left. Bolton are angelic in all white. No Anelka, no Diouf... you have to wonder where the goals are coming from.
    • - Alex Roxon writes: "No need to place a "dull" sticker on Blackburn they are good at providing goals, not always in their favour but they are a good neutral's team. So nyeah." Fair enough. Let the goalless draw commence!
    • - Hello to Dada Veiga who emails from Brazil and has, brillantly, given himself a single 'football' name - Dayson. One letter away from a popular vaccuum cleaner it may be, but I'm jealous.
    • - Fancy sounding off about Mark Hughes or indeed anything else? Email ukfeedback@eurosport.com and you may find your message printed if there is a lull in the game. And, let's face it, there will be one - it's Bolton-Blackburn.
    • - Sky just asked Hughes about the Newcastle job and he gave a distinctly mealy-mouthed response about the speculation having nothing to do with him and wanting to concentrate on the game. I'd be worried if I were a Blackburn fan.
    • - Mark Hughes is the new favourite to take over at Newcastle, mainly because nobody can think of anyone else. Andre Ooijer is at right back for Brett Emerton, and Aaron Mokoena is away. Benni McCarthy plays after being dropped by South Africa.
    • - Life after Nicolas Anelka begins for Bolton, who instead have the rather more earthy delights of Kevin Davies up front. The OC's Tamir Cohen is preferred to the surely-miserable Christian Wilhelmsson on the wing and there's no Diouf remember - he's on African Cup of Nations duty.
