    Time:90'
    • Chelsea
    • Middlesbrough
    • 90+2' It's full-time and a double from Salomon Kalou has proved enough for Chelsea this evening against Middlesbrough, whose stout resistance was finally ended in the 58th minute. Thanks for joining us!
    • 90' Nicolas Anelka is withdrawn to an appreciative ovation, in place of Miroslav Stoch. Ironically, Anelka looked far more dangerous when he was out on the right, but that is more to do with Drogba. Two minutes will be added by referee Lee Probert.
    • 88' A superb ball from Bosingwa again almost finds Ballack in the middle, but the ball is cleared by Tony McMahon under pressure.
    • 85' The Boro faithful are streaming out of the ground now as their side look frankly down and out; Lampard continues to pull the strings for Chelsea.
    • 83' Jose Bosingwa sprints down the right but his cross is poor. Meanwhile, there is a huge roar across the ground as Wigan's equaliser against Liverpool is registered.
    • 81' GOAL!!! A Frank Lampard corner is powerfully headed home by Salomon Kalou! He was left completely unmarked and made no mistake. The two-goal hero is then withdrawn by Scolari in place of Deco.
    • 78' Chelsea continue to dominate possession, with Boro sadly unable to get any meaningful moves together to test the hosts.
    • 75' With six goals in his last seven games, Frank Lampard continues to look ominous, and the midfielder strikes one from the edge of the area, but Turnbull manages to scramble across his goal and save.
    • 73' Ballack and Lampard are really taking control of this game now and Middlesbrough's midfield are getting nowhere near their opposite numbers.
    • 70' A low, skidding free kick from Frank Lampard brings an unconvincing save from Turnbull and Kalou should have capitalised, but for a slip at the crucial moment.
    • 67' More excellent play from Anelka down the right finds Lampard in the middle, but the midfielder failed to check his run and apply a clinical finish.
    • 65' Middlesbrough enjoy a spell of pressure with Adam Johnson down the right; while Anelka and Drogba exchange slick passes on the counter.
    • 63' Indeed, it is a double substitution for Boro as Mohamed Shawky and Marlon King depart the scene, in favour of Tuncay and Afonso Alves; you have to feel for King.
    • 60' Afonso Alves and Tuncay are warming up now as Gareth Southgate will have to change his approach. Marlon King will be delighted to have some support up front.
    • 58' GOAL!!! Finally Chelsea break through and it's Salomon Kalou who has got it! The winger again found himself inside the area and after Wheater's headed clearance found him unmarked, he drilled his shot past Turnbull - great finish!
    • 55' Chris Riggott is booked for a foul on Drogba which was a certain yellow card.
    • 53' Ooh, an unbelievable miss by Salomon Kalou as the winger heads over the bar from just five yards out in a central position, after Alex had flicked a header in his direction!
    • 50' Drogba's presence up front already looks much more threatening - Chelsea just need to provide the right kind of service, without any conventional wide men - Kalou is debatable.
    • 48' Alex is again penalised for his overly physical approach, challenging with Marlon King and conceding a free-kick; Cech collects Downing's delivery comfortably.
    • 46' As expected, Didier Drogba has replaced Florent Malouda with Nic Anelka looking like he will play down the right, again highlighting Scolari's reluctance to pair the two in attack.
    • 45+1' Boos ring out across Stamford Bridge as Chelsea's frustrated players trudge off for half-time. On the other hand, Gareth Southgate positively skips down the tunnel.
    • 45' Didier Drogba will surely be introduced early in the second half to shake up the visitors' rear-guard. Mikel drills a speculative effort from 30 yards, but Turnbull is untroubled. Just the one minute to be added.
    • 43' A very belated shout for a Chelsea penalty is waved away by referee Lee Probert, as Anelka is apparently pulled down by Wheater after dummies by Lampard and Ballack in the penalty area - there wasn't much in the challenge.
    • 41' The home fans are growing increasingly restless as their side continue to struggle to make any meaningful inroads into an obdurate Boro defence.
    • 39' A typical Goalkeepers' Society decision by the referee, as David Wheater challenges - arms down and with eyes only for the ball - with Petr Cech and is clattered himself, but penalised.
    • 37' Another superb tackle by a Boro defender, this time Chris Riggott, as Anelka threatened to power his way through at pace - it was perfectly timed, and it needed to be.
    • 36' David Wheater does well to track Salomon Kalou the length of the right byline, then the winger has a header from a Lampard corner hit the top of the netting of Turnbull's goal.
    • 34' This first half has been like a free-kick training drill for Frank Lampard, with the occasional attempt by Michael Ballack to spice things up; Turnbull is yet to be truly tested by any yet though.
    • 32' Chelsea are playing with admirable patience, passing the ball around tirelessly, but with Boro happy to sit back and soak up the pressure, they need a bit more conviction to break through.
    • 29' Yet another dangerous free-kick is delivered by Lampard and Terry almost gets a decent touch on it, but his effort drifts wide.
    • 27' Alex is furious with referee Lee Probert as he challenges with Chris Riggott, but concedes a corner; Cech looks surprisingly apprehensive coming to collect it, but it was almost his first touch, so we'll let him off.
    • 25' Middlesbrough have their first meaningful attack on 25 minutes; Downing bustles his way down the left and looks for King, but Terry clears the danger - not threatening but had to be pointed out!
    • 23' Lampard whips in a corner kick which eludes three Boro defenders, and significantly Ballack, who stole in on the six yard box, but couldn't get a touch.
    • 21' Didier Drogba is continuing to warm-up vigorously on the touchline, but Malouda is looking increasingly sprightly following his earlier injury.
    • 19' It's all Chelsea and Scolari's side are passing the ball around for fun, with gloating jeers from the home side accompanying every pass.
    • 17' Another free kick for Chelsea, but this time in a very dangerous position - 25 yards out, and central. Michael Ballack takes it and hits the target, but Ross Turnbull parries it away.
    • 15' A dreadful miss by Ashley Cole as Jose Bosingwa whips in a fine ball to the back post, and his fellow wing-back loses his marker, Adam Johnson, but headed wide from five yards out!
    • 13' There is a slight delay as Malouda stays down after making a run down the left. The winger looks set to continue, but he is moving very gingerly.
    • 11' Mohamed Shawky is booked for a rash lunge on Florent Malouda on halfway - no arguments there. Lampard wastes the free-kick.
    • 9' A promising run by Salomon Kalou beats three Boro defenders, but his final touch gets away from him when finding himself in the penalty area.
    • 7' The immense figure of Alex, shrugs off the hardly diminutive Marlon King after the striker looked to advance with the ball down the right wing.
    • 5' Frank Lampard attempts a highly optimistic 35 yard free-kick after Gary O'Neil fouls Nicolas Anelka, but it is fired straight into the base of the Boro wall.
    • 3' Talking of Terry's enthusiasm, the defender sprints and slides into an unnecessary tackle on Tony McMahon, miles away from any danger, but luckily he gets a faint touch of the ball.
    • 1' We're underway at Stamford Bridge and John Terry has rarely looked as excited before a game as he has done today, Luiz Felipe Scolari and Gareth Southgate look solemn and nervous on the touchline, however.
    • - Blues captain John Terry returns, along with John Obi Mikel, while Marlon King leads the line for Boro, leaving Afonso Alves and Tuncay Sanli confined to the bench.
    • - Welcome to this Premier League encounter between Chelsea and Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge. Three points is crucial for Luiz Felipe Scolari's side, who trail Manchester United by five points at the top of the league after their win against West Brom last evening. Gareth Southgate's side are without a win in their last six games leaving them in need of a positive result to lift them out of the bottom three.
