    • Wigan Athletic
    • Tottenham Hotspur
    • 90+4' The final whistle goes and Wigan secure their sixth win from their last seven league games! Spurs remain in the relegation zone.
    • 90+3' Another Wigan corner, and this time the Latics players are happy to keep it there and run down the clock.
    • 90+1' GOAL!! Maynor Figueroa rises to nod a free header past Gomes and surely give Wigan a late win! hard luck on Spurs, but the goal had been coming.
    • 90' Spurs are camped out in their own half now. Valencia tries to chip a ball in from the byline and wins a corner. The home crowd cheer when they hear that there will be four minutes of injury time.
    • 86' Taylor delivers a Wigan corner and ZAKI BEATS ZOKORA TO THE HEADER... Headed wide! Goems would have been nowhere near that if it was on target. Tottenham look here for the taking now.
    • 83' Taylor goes for the top corner... High and wide. Bale will take the goal kick for Spurs. You have to wonder what sort of state the Brazilian keeper will be in following this match.
    • 83' Ledley King is penalised for obstructing Heskey around 25 yards from the Tottenham goal. Taylor will fancy his chances against a limping Gomes...
    • 82' O'Hara's delivery is taken by the wind and sails over everyone in the Wigan area.
    • 81' O'Hara releases Bent who can run forward and he's tripped up by Scharner! The Austrian is booked and spurs have a free-kick on the left-hand side.
    • 79' Dawson will play no further part in this match, with Jermaine Jenas coming on to replace him and King moving into defence. Spurs have now used all three subs and Gomes is really limping about. Can Wigan exploit this in the final stages?
    • 77' Dawson and Heskey clash in mid-air and it's the defender who comes off worse. The rest of the players can take a breather as Dawson is treated on the ground.
    • 75' Woodgate is booked for a foul on Heskey, and Taylor has another chance to deliver a telling ball into the Spurs box. Again it's headed away.
    • 74' Gareth Bale fires in a cross towards the near post, but there is no one there to attack it. Despite the introductions of Bent and Lennon, Spurs are not creating much. In fact, they've failed to score four times in their last six league matches.
    • 72' Zokora gets his revenge on Palacios with a late tackle that earns him a booking. This match is getting very combative and physical now.
    • 69' Now Palacios is booked for a foul on Zokora, after escaping one for pulling back Defoe earlier. Bale goes for the shot, and it clips the wall and ends in the arms of Kirkland.
    • 68' Wigan are the ones retaining possession at the moment. Figueroa's long pass misses Zaki and and goes to Gomes. Gomes is now throwing the ball out instead of kicking it, so that muscle strain must be significant.
    • 64' Valencia jumps for a header and catches Bale right in the face with his elbow! The referee books the Ecuador player, which begs the question did he really see what happended? The elbow looked accidental but surley it's either a red card or nothing?
    • 63' Nice one-touch play from Spurs and Bale crosses from deep to Bent in the box... He gets his head to it, but the pass was just too high for him to guide it anywhere.
    • 61' Lennon give a loose pass in midfield and Palacios breaks forward! He slips a through ball into the path of HESKEY... Saved by the feet of Gomes! The flag is up for offside, it went up very late though.
    • 58' Lennon replaces Modric as it looks like Spurs are reverting to 4-4-2.
    • 56' Now Dawson has taken Zaki's boot to the head! It was the defender's head that was low rather than the striker's boot being high, and Dawson can grit his teeth and continue - as will Gomes by the looks of things.
    • 55' Defoe finds Bent in an offside position and the flag goes up. Gomes is signalling that he has picked up an injury, it looks as though he pulled a groin muscle when he sprinted off his line to intercept Zaki a few minutes ago.
    • 54' Bent has been swapped for Pavlyuchenko.
    • 53' Gomes punches the corner clear and Defoe can break... He's being blatantly held back by Palacios, but the referee doesn't see it! Surely Andre Marriner would have brandished a yellow card had he seen that?
    • 52' A scrappy start to the half, but now Zaki wins a corner. Bramble and Figueroa are up there.
    • 50' Darren Bent - who was touch and go for this match after picking up a groin injury on Tuesday - is stripping off and ready to warm up on the touchline.
    • 47' Gomes tries one of his long throws out of goal but it falls to Taylor who sees the keeper off his line... The quick thinking was there, but the execution was lacking and Gomes can catch the ball a relieved man.
    • 46' No changes from either boss at the break, and Spurs begin the second half.
    • 45+2' Andre Marriner blows his whistle and the two sides go into the break level-pegging.
    • 45+1' Yet another Wigan free-kick, this time Taylor will deliver a cross... headed away. Taylor lifts in another ball, but Dawson nods it calmly back to Gomes.
    • 43' Taylor STRIKES... The ball hits someone's head in the wall and goes out for a throw-in. Wigan mount a second effort but this time the ball ends in Gomes's hands. Tottenham got away with it.
    • 42' Wigan have a free-kick in a central position, about 24 yards out. This is a great opportunity to go into half-time in front for Wigan. Taylor is standing over it...
    • 41' Having said that, Defoe has the ball at his feet and rides a tackle before finding Zokora in acres of space on the left. Zokora will SHOOT... Swiped wide! What a terrible effort!
    • 40' Wigan has emerged as the dominant side as the half has worn on, and now the most likely side to score before the break.
    • 38' Zaki turns and skins Dwason on the halfway line! He cuts inside and crosses for HESKEY AT THE FAR POST... The angle is too acute and Gomes blocks the half-volley for a corner!
    • 36' A long ball forward by Wigan is flicked on by Heaskey and PALACIOS TRIES THE BICYCLE KICK... His technique was excellent for the effort from 18 yards, but the ball sailed right to Gomes.
    • 34' Taylor swings in the free-kick and ZAKI GLANCES A HEADER... Wide of the far post! Gomes was well beaten there!
    • 33' Bale flies in with a tackle on Valencia that was clumsy and late. The booking is fully justified.
    • 29' Wigan starting to find their feet now, and Melchiot wins a corner. Gomes beats Heskey to it and punches well clear.
    • 25' Taylor has placed the ball and will fancy the SHOT... Over the bar, Gomes was untroubled.
    • 24' Corluka fouls Zaki again on the right. Zaki waves an imaginary card at the referee, indicating he would like Corluka booked, and is lucky not to pick one up himself. The way things are going, the Croatian will pick one up soon enough.
    • 23' Cattermole finds Zaki at the byline and the cross is for HESKEY AT THE NEAR POST... Headed behind for a corner by Dawson - another last-ditch interception. Taylor's corner finds Scharner but the header is an awkward one and Spurs survive.
    • 21' A real midfield battle in these last few minutes, with neither side able to break into the final third.
    • 18' Corluka shoves Zaki in the back as the Egyptian jumps for a header right in front of referee Marriner. The delivery is no good and Spurs clear their lines.
    • 16' The corner is short for O'Hara who sets up DAWSON FOR THE HEADER... Right at Kirkland. O'Hara is at the centre of everything at the moment for Tottenham.
    • 16' O'Hara finds Bale in plenty of space on the wing... The Welshman's cross is poor but it wins Spurs a corner.
    • 14' A great ball forward from O'Hara goes over the defence and Defoe is there... His first touch took the ball away from him and into the arms of Kirkland, but that will set alarm bells ringing in the Wigan defence.
    • 13' Palacios tackles Zokora well in midfield and releases it for ZAKI TO STRIKE... Great covering tackle by Dawson! He came charging across just in time to intercept.
    • 11' Gomes has to come charging off his line to get to a ball before Palacios and concede the throw. King heads the throw away and Spurs try to break, but Zokora miscontrols and Wigan regain the ball.
    • 10' Modric will take the free-kick, and squares a sneaky ball for O'HARA... He sidefoots a first-time shot wide of the far post.
    • 9' Modric releases Defoe and the striker hares after the ball. He hits the deck as Titus Bramble comes across and wins the free-kick. Nothing much wrong with Bramble's challenge to be honest.
    • 8' That frantic pace has subsided now, and the Wigan fans are begininng to make themselves heard.
    • 5' The corner doesn't go past the near post, and Ryan Taylor hurriedly hacks the ball clear. Wigan under more early pressure than they would like.
    • 5' O'Hara nicks the ball off Melchiot and feeds Bale down the channel... It's another Spurs corner.
    • 1' Spurs win a free-kick on the left wing. O'Hara curls the delivery in for KING... Headed at the keeper but Kirkland fumbles and DAWSON DIVES IN... Kirkland palms the ball behind for a corner! Almost a calamitous start for Wigan!
    • 1' Wigan kick off and we are underway! Can the Latics record their first ever Premier League win over Spurs?
    • 13:28 The players are walking out now, we're just moments away from kick-off...
    • 13:27 Tottenham: Gomes, Zokora, Dawson, Woodgate, King, Bale, Corluka, Modric, O'Hara, Pavlyuchenko, Defoe. Subs: Cesar, Bentley, Huddlestone, Lennon, Jenas, Bent, Campbell
    • 13:27 Wigan: Kirkland, Melchiot, Scharner, Bramble, Figueroa, Valencia, Palacios, Cattermole, Taylor, Heskey, Zaki. Subs: Pollitt, Edman, Kilbane, Brown, Boyce, De Ridder, Camara
    • 13:25 Steve Bruce's Wigan are one of the League's form sides, having won five out of their last six matches. The Latics are at full strength, with Kirkland in goal and both Zaki and Heskey up front.
    • 13:22 The big news of course is that Jermain Defoe makes his return for Spurs - the club he left 12 months ago. He will start alongside Roman Pavlyuchenko, who is quickly turning into a Tottenham hero in his own right. Harry Redknapp is fielding a five-man defence, with King, Woodgate and Dawson as three centre-backs and Corluka and Bale as wing-backs. Former Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle would be proud.
