    Time:90'
    • Manchester City
    • Birmingham City
    • 90+4' And there goes the whistle! It's all over at Eastlands, and it's a point apiece for City and Birmingham.
    • 90+3' City continue to toil, but they're getting nowhere. It's just not happening
    • 90+1' City swing the ball back in to the far post, but it's headed clear again. Santa Cruz then fouls Roger Johnson, and the fans start heading for the exits
    • 90' There's four minutes of injury time to be played
    • 90' Headed clear at the back post, but City pick the ball up on the left wing
    • 89' It's all City in the closing moments! Foster claws a low shot wide of the right post, and City have a corner!
    • 87' Yaya Toure hammers another shot over the bar from the edge of the D, and Birmingham have a goal kick
    • 85' Cameron Jerome hares off along the left wing, but his final ball finds a sky blue shirt
    • 84' De Jong receives the ball on the edge of the box for City, and swings a right-foot curler to the top corner. Foster moves well to save, and holds onto it!
    • 83' The fans don't like that sub! Tevez runs off the pitch, so he's obviously not injured. Chants of 'you don't know what you're doing' can be heard all around the City of Manchester Stadium. Controversial decision from Mancini.
    • 82' Final Man City sub: Carlos Tevez off, Gareth Barry on
    • 81' Man City sub: Kolarov off, Pablo Zabaleta on
    • 80' Birmingham back on the ball, and the crowd are getting more and more vocally frustrated
    • 79' De Jong is penalised for a foul, and promptly kicks the ball away after the whistle. Yellow card
    • 78' Tevez lashes a shot over the bar. It's just not clicking for him
    • 77' City continue to push, in an increasingly tense City of Manchester Stadium!
    • 75' Tevez passes back to Silva on the edge of the area, who plays wide to Kolarov on the left. The fullback squares to Tevez 7 yards from goal, but the Argentine's touch is heavy and the ball goes out for a goal kick!
    • 74' Birmingham immediately break, and Larsson forces another decent save from Hart
    • 73' Adam Johnson gets the ball on the edge of the box now, and fires in a shot of his own which is also blocked. Picking a path through the red shirts in the box is proving impossible at the moment
    • 73' Tevez dances in from the right, but his shot is blocked.
    • 72' Hleb plays in Larsson on the right, whose cross is headed well clear by Kolo Toure. City can break here
    • 70' First real threat from Birmingham. Kolo Toure heads a long ball into the box half-clear, and Fahey sends it back towards goal with venom! Hart saves well to his right, before hoofing the ball straight out for a Birmingham throw
    • 69' Foster does well to pluck a high ball out of the sky. He's not put a foot wrong so far, the Birmingham keeper, but then City's timid attack haven't asked a great deal of him, in truth
    • 68' His first touch is a perfectly weighted ball to send Tevez clean through on goal! The Argentine moves left at pace, and SHOOTS! Dragged wide of the right post! Should have done better
    • 67' So, Birmingham swap a striker for a midfielder, and City do the opposite! Santa Cruz, meanwhile, makes his first appearance for City this season
    • 67' City sub: James Milner off, Roque Santa Cruz on
    • 66' Toure heads the ball back out of play for another throw, as City line up a change now
    • 65' It's a Birmingham throw, deep on the left
    • 64' Birmingham sub: Nikola Zigic off, Hleb on
    • 63' City in possession, as Birmingham line up another sub
    • 61' Carr gives Adam Johnson too much space on the left, and the City winger cuts inside into the box. He continues his run unchecked and SHOOTS! THE SHOT HITS MILNER! Milner blocks what looked like a goalbound effort, and that just about sums up City's performance so far
    • 60' City break down the right with Milner, who swings a cross towards Tevez in the centre! It's over the Argentine, and Foster too, and the chance is gone
    • 59' Ridgewell's long ball down the wing is cut out, and the home side are back on the ball, switching left
    • 58' Birmingham have possession on the left wing
    • 57' Tevez has a pop again, centre-right on the edge of the box, but it's straight at Foster who makes the save
    • 57' Tevez slams the free kick into the wall, and City retain possession as the ball cannons backwards
    • 56' City win a freekick 20 yards out, after Carr checks Tevez's run
    • 55' It goes through everyone and ends up with Johnson, whose low shot from 20 yards is blocked. Yaya Toure ends up with the rebound, but slams his shot wide of the left post
    • 54' Lovely pass from De Jong to move the ball forwards for City, Milner cuts inside on the left wing and wins a corner with a deflected cross
    • 53' City enjoying possession now, in their own half
    • 52' It's whipped viciously to Hart's left, but the City keeper gets across to hold it comfortably
    • 51' Larsson steps up, and he's dangerous at this range...
    • 50' Kolarov takes it, but it's easily blocked. Birmingham break, and Bowyer is fouled on pretty much his first touch! Birmingham have a freekick in almost exactly the same position as City just had theirs!
    • 49' Birmingham sub: Craig Gardner off, Lee Bowyer on
    • 49' City have a free kick 30 yards out, as Birmingham line up a substitution
    • 48' Nice football from City, getting into the area. Milner, Yaya Toure, and Silva exchange passes on the left, but the Englishman can't find a shot through the massed red shirts. Birmingham's box in congested at the moment, to say the least!
    • 47' What a start! That's more chances in the opening two minutes of the second half than we saw in the first 45 minutes! Let's hope it's a sign of things to come
    • 47' CHANCE FOR CITY! Milner brings down a high ball from the right under little pressure inside the Birmingham box, but sees his shot closed blocked by Foster! He gets another chance, and hooks the ball goalwards where Stephen Carr makes a goal-saving block on the line!
    • 46' We're back underway in Manchester!
    • - Not the half of football Manchester City fans were hoping for, after their dull 0-0 with Manchester United on Wednesday. Never have the words 'bore' and 'draw' been more appropriate. Let's hope for a brighter second half!
    • 45+1' There goes the whistle. Carlos Tevez hammers the ball into the air in frustration, and some half-hearted boos ring out across the stadium.
    • 45' There will be a single minute of stoppage time in Manchester
    • 45' Larsson completely fluffs his clearance, and Adam Johnson has the ball in space behind the defence! He takes a touch, shoots low on his right foot... WIDE! He drags the ball wide of the left post
    • 44' Tevez with the ball very deep on the left for Man City, and fires a long diagonal ball forwards
    • 43' STAT! Man City have failed to score in their last two PL matches at the City of Manchester Stadium. They have not gone three home matches without a goal in over three years since an eight-match streak from January to May 2007.
    • 42' Replays show that Tevez did use his arm to bring that ball under control, and that's a good decision from the officials. Tevez gets a yellow card
    • 41' DISALLOWED GOAL! Silva dinks a header towards Tevez in front of goal. The Argentine controls the ball 10 yards out and the ball trickles over the line! But the linesman signals that he used his hand, and the goal is chalked off!
    • 40' Yaya Toure eventually gets the ball 40 yards out in the centre, moves forwards and hammers the ball at goal from range! Deflected out for a throw
    • 39' Kolo Toure dinks the ball cleverly over his head to Boateng on then right wing, as Man City try to drive forwards
    • 38' Silva plays right to Milner, who runs 10 yards and swings in a good cross from the edge of the box. Foster plucks it out of the air
    • 37' Tevez steams into Larsson in the centre circle, and gets a stern warning from the ref. No card though.
    • 36' Keith Fahey kicks the ball straight out off the throw, and Man City have a throw. Frankly, this has been a terrible half hour of football.
    • 36' Birmingham hoof the ball forwards, and win a throw wide left
    • 35' Toure commits a sloppy foul in the Birmingham box, and the visitors have a freekick.
    • 34' Kolarov takes it this time, but the result is much the same. Birmingham clear
    • 33' Not good, cleared easily by the first man. The referee pulls play back however, after some argybargy in the box. Man City will get a chance to retake the freekick
    • 32' Ridgewell now does a bit of tugging himself, conceding a freekick wide left after hauling down James Milner. Johnson stands over the freekick
    • 31' Ridgewell hares into the area from the left to pick up a cross and goes down under pressure from Adam Johnson! Johnson definitely had a hand on the Birmingham left-back, but it would've been a soft penalty
    • 30' STAT: Manchester City and Birmingham City have met 130 times in the league. Manchester City have won 60, Birmingham City 48 and there have been 22 draws.
    • 29' It's taken quickly, but Adam Johnson's pass back to Boateng goes straight out of play. Awful.
    • 28' Silva plays a slow pass to Milner on the left, who passes back to the Spaniard. The cross eludes everyone, and goes through to Jerome Boateng in the right portion of the area. Birmingham's defence is looking sharp at the moment, and the shot is quickly block for a Man City throw
    • 27' You can hear the frustration of the crowd, as Silva plays a low ball through the defence to Tevez, who is offside.
    • 26' Ferguson plays backwards to Johnson, who in turn passes to Foster, who hoofs the ball downfield. Ferguson shoots from range and the ball trundles well wide of Hart's right post.
    • 25' The corner is half-cleared, before ending up back with Adam Johnson on the right wing. The 23-year-old fires a shot from the edge of the area at an accute angle, and Foster gathers it easily.
    • 24' Adam Johnson gets the ball wide on the right wing, skips along the sideline, and wins a corner off Ridgewell
    • 23' Tevez is too physical, scrapping for the ball on the halfway line, and fouls Ferguson
    • 22' Larsson swings a nice cross from the right now towards Zigic, but Toure does well to head the ball clear. Man City break
    • 21' Birmingham counter, and swing a teasing cross in to Zigic, who just fails to get on the end of it.
    • 20' Tevez earns a yard of space on the edge of the box, but sees his shot blocked. The ball falls to Kolarov, 30 odd yards back, who lashes the ball high over the bar
    • 20' STAT: Man City and Birmingham have met 12 times previously in the Premier League. Manchester City have won seven, Birmingham three and there have been two draws.
    • 19' Nigel De Jong wins the ball off Gardner in the centre for City, and pokes the ball forwards to Yaya Toure. Toure runs forwards and plays right to Tevez on the edge of the area. The Argentine SHOOTS! Wide of the left post! Best chance of the match by far
    • 17' Tevez brings down a long ball well on the edge of the area, and lays off to Johnson. Johnson twists and turns but just can't get the shot off! Close to an opening for the hosts!
    • 16' The ball is cleared for a throw, and Yaya Toure is penalised for a foul under the long throw in the box. Ben Foster will take, naturally
    • 15' Roger Johnson and Adam Johnson have the sort of duel that makes commentary more difficult than it needs to be, and the latter wins a corner on the right
    • 14' City back on the ball with Toure, who ambles sideways and squares to Silva
    • 13' Carlos Tevez tries to nick the ball off Craig Gardner, but the Birmingham man comes away with it. Alex McLeish wasn't happy with that, and screams for greater urgency from his men
    • 12' Birmingham have the ball in their own half
    • 11' Birmingham have a throw deep, and will be more than happy with the first 10 minutes in Manchester. There's not much of an atmosphere in the stadium at the moment, and City aren't doing much to help matters! Too much slow, deliberate passing, not enough movement off the ball. Birmingham have made a solid, unspectacular start - perfect on a trip to a potential top four team.
    • 10' Kompany exchanges passes with both Toures as City again knock the ball casually around the defence. Yaya Toure's 15 yard ball forwards it easily picked off, and Birmingham go for a bit of deep passing themselves. Not exactly electrifying, this.
    • 9' Adam Johnson skips away down the right, easily beating Liam Ridgewell. The Birmingham centre-half is playing at left-back today, and didn't look too comfortable then! Barry Ferguson comes across to help him out, and shepherds the ball out for a corner under under pressure from Johnson. Quality defending from the Scot
    • 8' Sebastian Larsson swings it in towards the far post, but City get it clear. The ball is lofted back into the box, but Hart is out sharply to gather
    • 7' Birmingham enjoy their first little spell of passing, in their own half. Kompany looks to nick the ball back but Birmingham will have a corner!
    • 6' Kolarov eventually receives the ball back on the left and quickly ups the pace, before being muscled off the ball
    • 5' City play the ball backwards, and across the defence from left to right
    • 4' City on the ball deep left with Aleksandar Kolarov, who clips a pass down the line
    • 3' Zigic is dispossed by Kolo Toure, and Silva takes the ball across the halfway line
    • 2' Toure and Kompany exchange passes as City get off to a patient start
    • 1' After an impeccably observed minute's silence we're underway at The City of Manchester Stadium. There was a nice moment just before the silence, as the City and Birmingham players applauded a small group of soldiers onto the pitch. A rare moment of perspective. Birmingham kick us off in their bright red change strip
    • 14:55 Roberto Mancini has effectively said that a Champions League spot is the extent of City's ambitions this season, but a win would move them to within a point of their bitter rivals Manchester United in second, after Alex Ferguson's side could only snatch a draw at Villa Park in today's early kickoff
    • 14:50 Birmingham, meanwhile, haven't had a win in the Premier League since the 23rd of October: 2-0 at home to Blackpool. Draws at city rivals Aston Villa and at home to West Ham followed, before Tuesday's thrilling 3-2 defeat at Stoke.
    • 14:45 City come into today's match on a mixed run of form. A Europa league defeat to Lech Poznan was followed by an entertaining 2-0 away win at West Brom last weekend, and we all know what happened when the Manchester Derby got underway on Wednesday (clue: not very much)
    • 14:40 So, there's a starting berth for Adam Johnson in the City lineup, and another chance for the 23-year-old to persuade Mancini that he should start more regularly (half of Johnson's 16 appearances this season have come from the bench). If the City boss's recent utterings are anything to go by, he might need a bit of convincing!
    • 14:36 The referee today is Mike Jones, who hails from Cheshire.
    • 14:35 Birmingham: Foster, Carr, Johnson, Dann, Ridgewell, Larsson, Gardner, Ferguson, Fahey, Jerome, Zigic. Subs: Doyle, Bowyer, Phillips, Derbyshire, Parnaby, Hleb, Beausejour
    • 14:30 TEAMS! Man City: Hart, Boateng, Toure, Kompany, Kolarov, De Jong, Toure Yaya, Adam Johnson, Silva, Milner, Tevez. Subs: Given, Richards, Zabaleta, Santa Cruz, Barry, Vieira, Jo
    • 14:25 Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has no fresh injury concerns ahead of this afternoon's Eastlands clash. James McFadden is the only long-term absentee with his knee ligament injury, and McLeish has to decide whether to restore playmaker Alexander Hleb to the starting line-up after leaving him out for the midweek defeat at Stoke.
    • 14:25 Roberto Mancini's City are without Mario Balotelli, who serves the second game of a three-match ban, but Adam Johnson and Emmanuel Adebayor are amongst those who will hope for a recall against Birmingham today.
    • 14:20 Good afternoon and welcome to our live coverage of this afternoon's Premier League clash between Manchester City and Birmingham!
