    • - Don't forget you can watch highlights of this match, along with every Premier League game, from 00:01 Monday morning (UK only).
    • 90+4 That's it! Stoke snatch a dramatic win! Sunderland can't believe it but they have themselves to blame, rotten defending from set pieces, like children!
    • 90+3 GOOOOOOOAAAAALLL! Stoke have won it! Pennant with a peach of a free-kick from wide and Sunderland stand in awe as Huth slides in and rifles it in off Gordon. Maybe the keeper could have come but no, he didn't, and his defence were woeful there.
    • 90+2 Free-kick to Sunderland on the left... Pennant again.... Can Stoke win this?
    • 90+1 Four minutes added on...
    • 90' A throw is sent back to Begovic and Gyan closes him down to block the clearance and he's in but the flag it up! Handball!
    • 89' SUNDERLAND SUB: Muntari off for Zenden.
    • 87' Free-kick to Sunderland, Etherington's corner is good but his pals are shoving all over the shop.
    • 85' Corner to Stoke that results in another corner as Carew meets it but sees his header blocked by Onuoha. Gordon having a set-play mare.
    • 84' No idea who scored that, Carew definitely with the header but it maybe brushes the thigh of Huth, who may be offside but heck this is Stoke and they love a bundle. 2-2!
    • 83' I have a feeling Pennant will shoot... parallel with the D, to the left but inside from the corner of the box... AND IT'S BUNDLED IN! Rubbish from Gordon, flapping like a prohibition-era dancer, and I think Carew heads it in but Huth claims it on the line!
    • 82' Pennant finds Carew, who shrugs off Onuoha and is caught by a wild Muntari swing while flicking it wide. Free-kick about 25 yards out. Madness from Muntari.
    • 81' Stoke would probably have preferred the throw from there as Pennant's free-kick is headed away. Gyan charges forward but Delap is back to hold him up. Walters appears to check Gyan on the edge of the box but Probert waves it away.
    • 80' Henderson will be booked this time for a foul on Etherington, who reacts badly and Probert breaks it up.
    • 79' Pennant whips the ball in and it flies across the face of goal, comes off Muntari AND CAREW but Gordon gathers. Stoke cranking it up!
    • 78' Pennant will take this, near the corner flag... punched by Gordon, Etherington shoots but Richardson with the block and it's another corner.
    • 77' Henderson is booked now after he blocks off Etherington down the left. No, just a word after calling him over. Would have been harsh.
    • 76' Stoke have a change to counter as Whitehead plays Etherington away, now Carew with a cross from the left but beyond Walters. Goal kick.
    • 75' Richardson gets it short from Henderson AND HE SHOOTS NEAR POST but Begovic is quick to see it and palms behind!
    • 74' Henderson will curl this free-kick in from the left wing, just a few yards out from the box... Good ball, Carew nodding away for a corner.
    • 74' Delap is booked after he takes Richardson out as Gyan played him in.
    • 73' This time Gordon holds on to Etherington's inswinging corner.
    • 72' Poor from Bardsley, who had time to clear but waited and waited and was robbed by Walters. Now Whitehead flies in with a header but Ferdinand - who has been very good today - nods out for a corner.
    • 72' This is the problem with the Delap throw - it leaves Stoke prone at the back if the opposition can counter quickly. Sunderland do counter quickly but the move loses momentum and Sunderland now opt for the softly-softly approach.
    • 71' Gordon takes it BUT HE DROPS IT AND JONES IS IN THERE but hacked away by Ferdinand! Corner. Sunderland think it was a foul from Jones but his body did not touch Gordon's, he was flying in with a perfectly fair header.
    • 70' Pennant's corner ricochets off players from both sides, the last being a Sunderland defender. Corner again.
    • 69' Carew on the left does well to win a corner, his cross deflected away. He has played well.
    • 68' Good defending by Shawcross to catch up with Gyan. Richardson now with a lofted cross but cleared by Huth.
    • 67' STOKE SUB: Walters is on for Wilkinson. 3-4-3! Or 3-5-3? Wingbacks! Glen Hoddle!
    • 66' Etherington's corner is cleared as far as Huth who, from outside the box, smacks it well over.
    • 65' That's more like it from Stoke. They could get something out of this yet. Now Bardsley gives it away, Pennant to Carew and Stoke have a corner.
    • 64' Carew meets the throw, spilled by Gordon, Shawcross pokes it in again but cleared AND DELAP but blocked for a corner! Bardsley I think!
    • 63' Ferdinand clears from Carew as Stoke have another Delap throw on the right now...
    • 62' Sunderland have had 53% of possession so far, six shots on target to Stoke's four.
    • 61' A stray pass from Carew is out for a throw. He has little to no support. Jones is awol again, the main problem preventing him from being one of the best out there.
    • 60' Whitehead gets the better of Mensah but Bramble is across to clear. This 5-3-1 is working well for the visitors.
    • 59' Richardson puts in a cross that Whitehead blocks. Sunderland trying to force a third...
    • 58' Henderson with a superb cross from right to left but Onuoha can't get good contact with the far-post header and Whitehead clears!
    • 57' Another long throw from Delap is taken by Gordon. One-dimensional but it's a decent dimension.
    • 56' Jones flicks the header on by Gordon's wise to it and gathers.
    • 55' Carew with his back to goal tries to send Richardson away but Ferdinand plays it to touch. Delap again... Good keeping from Gordon this time, catching easily.
    • 54' Whitehead with a fairly aimless long ball that Ferdinand easily heads clear. Onuoha then puts it out for a throw though.
    • 53' Wilkinson gets across to clear from Gyan, who is working the channels and the middle very well.
    • 52' Bramble shows Huth how to do it, heading back to his keeper when a long ball was set to let Jones in.
    • 51' Poor defending from Mensah at the other end allows Pennant in but Jones can't make the header, Bramble back well to cover.
    • 49' Well. Rubbish from Huth, who could have first headed the ball and then hoofed it clear but seemed to panic, letting it drop and inexcusably letting the much smaller Gyan outmuscle him. Deary me.
    • 48' MISTAKE BY HUTH AND GYAN SCORES! He should have cleared as the long ball dropped over his shoulder but he lets Gyan turn inside, the Ghanaian shrugging him off and drilling a low finish into the bottom right!
    • 48' Henderson inside to Gyan, he lays it off for Richardson, Bardsley now to Muntari but poor from Henderson, straight to the defender.
    • 47' Delap grins like a cheeky little monkey as he rubs the ball down for the throw. Gordon catches though.
    • 46' Pennant runs at Bardsley, who slides in and puts it out for a throw.
    • 46' The second half is underway.
    • 45+2 Half-time, 1-1 at the Britannia.
    • 45+2 The referee calls Bardsley over.... Huth tripped him and he reacted... just a word and handshake for both.
    • 45+1 Another Delap long throw on the left this time... He towels the ball and lobs it in but Ferdinand wins the header.
    • 45' Two minutes added time now...
    • 44' Stoke counter but Richardson makes up a lot of ground to cover at right back and play it back to Gordon, who goes long down the right channel.
    • 43' Richardson puts a near post ball in that Huth clears. It drops back to him but Stoke clear.
    • 42' Etherington is back defending as Sunderland win a corner on their right.
    • 41' The game has slowed down a bit as neither side takes too many risks going into half time.
    • 40' The ball drops to Muntari well out but his fizzing shot doesn't dip or swerve quickly enough, high and wide.
    • 39' Begovic lofts it long and Bramble meets with a header that the home fans think was illegal. Nope.
    • 38' A throw to Stoke on the left but what is this? Higginbotham? How odd. Pennant inside to Wilkinson but he runs it out for a throw.
    • 37' Poor corner in by Muntari that Jones clears. Very low, looked like a miskick.
    • 36' Sunderland now have a corner on the right...
    • 35' Pennant delivers from the left AND CAREW GETS AWAY FROM BRAMBLE but he fouled him and the whistle goes as Gordon pulls off a great save. Super ball from Pennant.
    • 34' Stoke's fans are in full voice all of a sudden and their team wins a free-kick on the left. Set plays are the name of the game here...
    • 33' Carew was in an offside position when he scored, but it was hard to see in real time as there was a bundle of bodies in the six-yard box. He wins a free-kick off Mensah and the home fans have a new friend.
    • 32' CAREW! He scores on his home debut and guess where it came from? A Delap throw. Onuoha meets the throw under pressure from Huth in the six-yard box but a hesitant Gordon fails to come and, arriving late, flaps as Huth nods it back towards goal and Carew sticks out a size 12 to prod it home.
    • 31' Free-kick to Stoke on the left by the corner flag... Pennant I think will take this... Rubbish. Straight into the one-man wall of Muntari.
    • 30' Etherington is brought down clumsily by Muntari and that will be a yellow card.
    • 29' Poor cross from Pennant, way too deep with no Stoke players on that flank. Onuoha clears.
    • 28' Nice control on the Sunderland left by Bruce, rolling back the years as he keeps the ball recent for a throw.
    • 27' Carew flicks it on for Jones but he dithers and allows Mensah to knock it clear.
    • 25' Bardsley is the new Roberto Carlos. No, he really is, bombing forward at will and smacking another drive from the left, wide this time.
    • 24' Stoke with a spell of possession, if you can call it that, the ball largely in motion and not at the feet of their players.
    • 23' HIGGINBOTHAM INTO THE SIDE NETTING! Have the ground, me included, thought that was in! Huth at the near post flicked on Pennant's corner and Higginbotham at the back stick smashed the finish inches wide!!
    • 22' Delap lobs it in and the ball is cleared to Pennant, whose shot is deflected wide. Corner. That throw went beyond the far post. Give him a javelin!
    • 21' Bardsley is screaming blue murder at Pennant after the two collide. He feels he was caught but it looked fine to me, Stoke have a throw...
    • 20' Poor goal kick from Begovic, out for a throw in his own half.
    • 19' Bardsley in space on the left but he doesn't cross. Henderson now bombs forward and has a pop from range but easy for Begovic.
    • 18' Pennant curls in the corner but Higginbotham heads well wide.
    • 17' Etherington with a brilliant cross but Jones is very slow to react and Mensah slides in to whack it over his own bar.
    • 16' That punch starts a quick break but Begovic reads Richardson's run and hoofs to touch.
    • 15' Good play by Carew holding it up on the left but his team-mates are painfully slow to arrive in support and Sunderland are back quickly. Stoke have a throw though, but Gordon punches away Delap's delivery.
    • 14' Sunderland think that should have been a free-kick as Delap may have caught Bramble but it doesn't matter for now as the ball is cleared for a second corner, on the right now... Etherington's delivery is dangerous but Gordon flies across to punch away.
    • 13' Etherington on the left finds Carew who holds it up well as the cavalry gets forward. Now Delap and Carew flicks it on as Delap surges in but nodded behind by Bramble falling over. Corner.
    • 12' Jones can't find any support so Sunderland can break and Richardson has a crack from the edge of the box but his outswinger flies wide of the top right.
    • 11' Sunderland keeping the ball low and holding on possession until Richardson gives it to Jones, possibly confused at seeing his old team-mate in identical colours to Sunderland's home kit.
    • 10' Long from Wilkinson as Stoke try to build a typically direct attack, it breaks down though.
    • 9' Delap's throw, as expected, is their "massive weapon" (to quote Clarke Carlisle). Now Richardson lofts it forward for Gyan who goes down on the edge of the box but no foul from Shawcross says the ref. Looked like a tug to me!
    • 8' Another throw to Stoke on the right, hurled far post and Jones fails to connect, it lands for HUTH UNMARKED but saved by the chest of the keeper Gordon, and back to Huth again but he smacks it over!!
    • 7' Gyan goes shoulder to shoulder with Shawcross and he won't win a battle of strength with that big lump, Stoke clearing.
    • 6' The replay shows it was Shawcross with a poor clearance that gave Bramble a chance he should have taken, not enough power on his header and Begovic should have caught it. Uncertain defending from the Potters.
    • 5' Free-kick won by Sessegnon around 25 yards out, a shade to the left... Poor delivery by Henderson but the ball skews up in the air off a Stoke defender and Bramble nods it towards goal for Begovic to strangely opt to punch, but it is cleared in the end.
    • 4' Throw to Stoke on the right which Delap, obviously, will take... straight on to the edge of the six-yard box and Jones meets it with a nice volley but he gets the direction wrong, well over.
    • 3' That is Richardson's fourth goal in three Prem games. England?
    • 2' Richardson slides it wide left to Bardsley, his low ball finds Gyan in the box and the Ghanaian tries to shoot but misses the ball AND THE LOOSE ONE FALLS TO RICHARDSON WHO SMASHES IT INTO THE ROOF OF THE NET! Goal Sunderland!!
    • 1' Ethertington down the left puts in a testy ball that Carew meets but cannot divert on target. I note a comment asking why Pulis is not starting with Fuller - that's because he's in Jamaica, at his uncle's funeral.
    • 1' The first half is underway at Stoke.
    • 12:40 Steve Bruce on Jordan Henderson: "I have said all along every player, whether you are Ronaldo or you are Wayne Rooney, you have your price. As managers, we manage the team, of course we do, we have an input with the people who employ us but we all know that it's part of football. (Jordan and his father) are level-headed enough to realise and they understand that the worst thing that could happen to Jordan is he goes for big, huge money and he doesn't play for 8 months and sits on the bench."
    • 12:40 Tony Pulis: "We're going to need those fresh legs because Sunderland have not only had an extra 24 hours to get themselves ready for this game, they also didn't have a game last weekend. That is why it is important we used the squad on Wednesday night. The likes of Matty Etherington and Kenwyne Jones had run their socks off on a heavy pitch against Wolves, so they will have benefited from the fact that they didn't feature in the game at Anfield."
    • 12:35 FACT: Sunderland have won their last two Premier League away games, they have not won three in succession since October 1999.
    • 12:30 FACT: Stoke have won their last three home games against Sunderland by a one-goal margin.
    • 12:25 FACT: In the five Premier League meetings between Stoke and Sunderland, no goals have been scored by the away team.
    • 12:20 Referee: Lee Probert (Wiltshire)
    • 12:15 SUNDERLAND TEAM NEWS: Asamoah Gyan leads the line as a lone striker in the injury-absence of Fraizer Campbell and Danny Welbeck. But January signings Sulley Muntari - in for the injured Lee Cattermole - and Stephane Sessegnon start, while Ahmed El-Mohamady is put on the bench. Maybe the Egyptian's mind is on other things. David Meyler and Michael Turner both have knee injuries.
    • 12:10 STOKE TEAM NEWS: Ricardo Fuller is absent on compassionate leave after a family bereavement back in Jamaica, but Ryan Shawcross returns from a ban. Matthew Etherington and Kenwyne Jones missed the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool but are named in the starting line-up.
    • 12:05 TEAMS - Stoke: Begovic, Wilkinson, Shawcross, Huth, Higginbotham, Pennant, Whitehead, Delap, Etherington, Jones, Carew; Subs: Sorensen, Collins, Whelan, Wilson, Pugh, Walters, Shotton /// Sunderland: Gordon, Onuoha, Mensah, Ferdinand, Bramble, Bardsley, Henderson, Muntari, Sessegnon, Richardson, Gyan; Subs: Mignolet, Zenden, Malbranque, Angeleri, Riveros, Colback, El-Mohamady
