    • 90+4' FULL-TIME: What a result for Blackpool! They'll scarcely believe this one - and Sunderland fans certainly won't. But they struck when it counted, and they defended bravely, and the likes of Phillips, Campbell and Varney put in tireless shifts. Great result for the visitors, who are back in the top half with games in hand on those around them!
    • 90+2' Poor tackle from a frustrated Bramble and picks up a yellow card. Varney lucky not to be hurt.
    • 90+1' Four added minutes. Not too many Sunderland fans are hanging around to see them.
    • 90' BLACKPOOL SCORE! THAT WILL DO! CAMPBELL! Phillips cuts inside, hits a low ball to the far post where Campbell is waiting to tuck it in. He's offside - he's judged it perfectly. Sunderland will be bemused.
    • 89' Welbeck header over the bar from the corner - they must have had all of thirty chances, Sunderland.
    • 88' Malbranque plays a superb ball over the top to Welbeck, but a clunky touch from the 20-year-old allows Evatt to kick away for a corner.
    • 87' Campbell wins a throw off Bramble in the Sunderland half. A little respite for the Tangerines.
    • 86' The chances keep raining down, but do Sunderland believe that it's just not their day?
    • 85' BENT HITS THE WOODWORK! Beautiful free kick, taken right-footed. It even rebounds off Kingson - but goes away safe.
    • 83' SUNDERLAND AGONISINGLY CLOSE! Cathcart and Evatt make horrible errors, but somehow Kingson saves Bent's effort from six yards, and it bounces to Al Muhammadi whose effort is blocked by a header from Evatt!
    • 82' CATTERMOLE CLOSE! Good hit from just inside the area, Kingson splashes at the save but gathers at the second attempt
    • 81' Blackpool double-change: Southern and Carney on, Taylor-Fletcher and Sylvestre off.
    • 80' CLOSE! Corner for Sunderland - Ferdinand forward - Henderson's ball finds Welbeck, and Kingson was nowhere near it at all - but the header goes wide!
    • 79' Al Muhammadi smashes a shot straight into Kingson's chest - Steve Bruce looks like a man who wanted him to cross.
    • 78' Bramble defends well down by the right byline and tries to get Sunderland on the move once again.
    • 77' Campbell pirouetting over and over until Richardson clatters him to the ground. That will buy Blackpool a nice little breather.
    • 76' Phillips on the left, cuts a ball back for Sylvestre who hits an errant pass. Might have done better there, because Sunderland are back on the move.
    • 75' Malbranque lifts a high cross to the far post, but Crainey alert and gets it out for a corner.
    • 74' Bardsley into the box - he keeps on going, only to pass a bit heavily into Welbeck's path. He might have been better off shooting.
    • 73' Bent gets ahead of Cathcart, but Malbranque is picked off by Eardley who clears.
    • 72' Blackpool have seen out half the time they need to protect this lead. Sunderland continue to press.
    • 71' Bent stands up a good cross from the left, but Crainey is the man to get on the end of it, and he heads away comfortably.
    • 70' WHAT A SAVE FROM KINGSON! He denies Malbranque at his near post terrifically. It's been a combination of the sublime and the ridiculous, but he's keeping Sunderland out. You can't look away from him!
    • 69' Another worrisome Kingson clearance - he lets Welbeck get very, very close before slicing away.
    • 68' It's been an end-to-end second half - a few quiet moments set us up as we go into the final quarter of the game.
    • 67' Fabulous tackle from Crainey forces a tackle as Sunderland pile on the pressure.
    • 67' That's Gyan's last action - he looks disconsolate. Not his finest afternoon, and Malbranque is on instead.
    • 66' BARDSLEY CLOSE! He thunders a low shot through a crowd in the box and Kingson denies him. Gyan at his feet for the rebound but he's offside now that he's an active player again.
    • 65' Richardson and Welbeck linkng up on the left well enough, waiting for the chance to attack.
    • 64' CHANCE FOR BLACKPOOL AGAIN! Cathcart slams a free far-post header into the net! Another good opportunity!
    • 64' ALMOST BLACKPOOL'S SECOND! Great little angled cross from Vaughan, which Taylor-Fletcher and Bardsley compete for, and Bardsley just manages to help it past the far post.
    • 63' Welbeck shows good strength to hold off his man and steer a ball into Henderson's path, but it's a committed block from Evatt to deny him any sniff of goal.
    • 62' Second half possession is 59-41 in Sunderland's favour as the hosts press for an equaliser. Henderson tries a drive from distance - through a couple of bodies and gathered by Kingson.
    • 61' Campbell picks out Phillips, who keeps up his excellent afternoon with a good-looking cross from the right - blocked this time.
    • 60' Cattermole looking a bit sore and sorry for himself here - has he picked up a knock? If he has, Bruce has midfield options on the bench - but it would be his final change.
    • 59' Taylor-Fletcher skips through a couple of challenges but as he nears the penalty area he kicks the ball on too far ahead and there's no catching up with that. Gordon grabs.
    • 58' Tactical change from Bruce - Meyler off, Richardson on.
    • 57' GREAT MOVE FROM SUNDERLAND, GYAN CLOSE! Welbeck works into the middle, then turns and plays in Henderson who sends in a super low ball towards Gyan, but somehow it goes over the bar!
    • 56' Great pace from Phillips to get the better of Bardsley and get to the corner flag, but that's as far as he'll get before Sunderland get away and come forward afresh.
    • 55' Welbeck furious as Blackpool are awarded a free-kick, and he has a point - but the call stands.
    • 54' Gyan stands up a header into the middle, but Kingson leaps confidently to claim. Sunderland chasing the game, but coming forward gamely here.
    • 53' If they could hold on to this advantage, it would be their fifth away win of the season, and it would restore them to the top 10 in the table, with two games in hand over most sides above them.
    • 52' Low drive from Phillips, and not a bad hit from 25 yards, going just wide of the post.
    • 52' That's DJ Campbell's fourth Premier League goal - all of which have come away from home.
    • 51' Cattermole gets into a great position for a header, but just doesn't get enough power on it to make Kingson worry.
    • 51' Plenty of Blackpool fans have made the trip to Sunderland, and they're in full voice now. They've weathered the Sunderland storm, and they're now in front.
    • 50' CAMPBELL SCORES! BLACKPOOL LEAD! The delivery comes in from Eardley, a good one which Evatt nods on straight into Campbell's path, and it's guided into the corner!
    • 49' Good work from Phillips, he wins a corner, jamming a cross from the right off Bardsley.
    • 48' WELBECK CLOSE! The Sunderland pressure continues as Bent gets the better of Cathcart, then holds up and invites Welbeck to shoot - but Kingson makes a save.
    • 47' Flicked header from Gyan towards the back post - but beyond it this time.
    • 46' The second half begins! Blackpool kick us off.
    • 45+3' HALF-TIME: Plenty of chances for Sunderland, no goals. Blackpool had their moments, but most of the time it's been a rearguard action. Gyan goes off shaking his head, perhaps still thinking about that miss at the far stick just before the interval. Will the lost opportunities prove costly? Join us in a few minutes to find out.
    • 45+2' Blackpool send the free-kick straight into Gordon's arms from their own half - a disappointing use of it. Bent now angry with the assistant referee as Varney dispossesses him on the wing.
    • 45+1' Two minutes of stoppages to play. Meyler picks up a yellow after a nasty foul on Sylvestre.
    • 45' GYAN! HOW DOES HE MISS? The ball falls to him at the far post after Al-Muhammadi's cross is not properly cleared, and somehow his effort goes wide of the upright.
    • 44' Cathcart makes a magnificent block to keep out the Sunderland strikers - corner for the hosts.
    • 43' Another bizarre clearance from Kingson - he looks like a man who could gift a goal away, but somehow hasn't done so.
    • 42' Entertaining first half drawing to a close.
    • 41' Phillips pops up on the left, lashing a shot from a tight angle over the bar for Blackpool.
    • 40' HENDERSON CLOSE! That perhaps should have been a goal - or perhaps Kingson should do better - but somehow it's not in. Henderson drove low after being teed up by Bent, but straight at Kingson, who contrives to flip the ball unconvincingly around the post.
    • 39' Decent set-piece oppotunity from Sunderland on the left - it's an incredible flick-on from Gyan, but Kingson is there.
    • 38' CAMPBELL SO CLOSE! He cuts inside having beaten his man, and flashes a shot from 20 yards just inches wide of the post. Both sides having their opportunities!
    • 37' Kingson makes a good punch, clearing away Al-Muhammadi's cross firmly as it hung in the air.
    • 36' Evatt goes for a long ball, but it gives Varney a fruitless chase.
    • 35' Welbeck's looked sharp for Sunderland, a real creative force. If Henderson starts to deliver crosses like the previous one from the right as well, Sunderland will be very hard to live with this afternoon.
    • 34' WELBECK CLOSE! He gets on the end of a low and inviting Henderson cross from the right, but doesn't get a good touch on the ball from point-blank range, and punches the ground in frustration.
    • 33' Great play from Blackpool, with Sylvestre, Vaughan and Phillips all involved in passing the ball out of their own half. Their progress is ended by the Sunderland defence, but the movement is good.
    • 32' BENT CLOSE! He gets a bit of luck with the lack of an offside flag, but muscles his way into a good position only to misjudge his shot at the far post - his radar hasn't quite been working this afternoon.
    • 32' Bramble back in for Sunderland, replacing Onuoha - and that's one enforced change for each side in this first half.
    • 31' Onuoha in trouble for Sunderland now - and he won't be able to continue.
    • 30' CLOSE FROM CAMPBELL! GREAT RUN FROM PHILLIPS! The substitute tears down the right and then turns past two defenders to play a tempting cross into Campell. He doesn't hit it first time, turning away instead, but knocks it too far and his shot is wide.
    • 29' Gyan fools Evatt to make some space and play in Welbeck - but Eardley blocks his run well.
    • 28' First work of the afternoon for Sunderland's Gordon - Varney, cutting inside, forces the keeper to dive low and make a save.
    • 27' Henderson skips into a little space after Welbeck's pass but flashes a shot wide.
    • 26' GYAN SO CLOSE! Great ball from deep from Cattermole puts the Ghanaian through - Cathcart holds him up a little but he beats Kingson and he might just squeeze it in from a tight angle, but finds the side netting instead!
    • 25' Vaughan's ranging ball left has to be cleared out by Al-Muhammadi as Blackpool push.
    • 24' Henderson's pass intercepted, and if Vaughan had had a bit of luck there, he might have seen his quick through ball arrive at DJ Campbell's feet.
    • 23' Ferdinand heaves up a hopeful ball which goes out on the full for a goal-kick. Steve Bruce exhales in frustration on the touchline.
    • 22' Sunderland move forward - Bent and Gyan try to link with a one-two which doesn't quite come off.
    • 21' Better spell from the visitors, who are enjoying a bit of a look at the Sunderland penalty area. No sign of a shot as yet though.
    • 20' Bardsley gives away a throw in the corner, but Blackpool can't do a great deal with it.
    • 19' Change made - Phillips on, Grandin off. A big challenge for Blackpool here.
    • 18' Or maybe not - Grandin down and it looks as if Holloway is readying Phillips to take his place.
    • 17' Grandin receiving some treatment on the sideline as play contiues. The Blackpool forward is back on the pitch quick enough, and looks as if he's able to continue.
    • 16' Possession apparently 57-43 in favour of Blackpool so far - it hasn't felt that way - the hosts have made better use of their time on the ball in the early stages.
    • 15' Bent's delicate through ball for his willing winger is spoiled by the absence of a willing winger. Throw for Blackpool close to the corner flag.
    • 14' Vaughan's long ball towards Varney is just a touch too strong - he can't keep it in with his head.
    • 13' Sunderland are starting with the youngest line-up of all clubs in this season's Premier League. Their average age of the starting 11 is 23 years and 356 days.
    • 12' Hopeful ball from Onuoha in the direction of Gyan, but Sylvestre comes away with the ball for the Tangerines.
    • 11' Eardley can't control a crossfield ball and Sunderland have a throw. Blackpool have ventured forward on a couple of occasions, but they're on the back foot.
    • 10' BENT MISSES! It was a good chance after Gyan won a header to get the Black Cats moving - the ball through from Welbeck was superbly-judged by the shot was a disappointment.
    • 9' Patient build-up play gets its reward for Sunderland when the space opens up for Al-Muhammadi to get his cross in from the right. Decent ball which doesn't find its target.
    • 8' Nice move by Sunderland, well-worked with Bent and Gyan involved, but Welbeck was offside when he is played through for the shot (and his effort was over in any case).
    • 7' Whoops! Kingson almost makes an unspeakable error as a backpass ball runs under his feet - fortunately for him it doesn't have enough on it to go over the line, so it goes unpunished.
    • 6' Cattermole in late on Varney there - the referee Andre Mariner uses some discretion and opts not to book the midfielder.
    • 5' Henderson and Onuoha combine in the middle, looking for a way through. The Blackpool defence holding up well in these early stages.
    • 4' Crainey on the left for Blackpool plays it sideways, but no Adam there to hold the play together. How important will his absence be today?
    • 3' Great step from Welbeck to leave Blackpool's Eardley for dead - he surges towards the edge of the box and tries a shot on his right foot just wide of the post. Good effort!
    • 2' David Vaughan tries to run Blackpool forward out of his own defence - but it's the home side with most of the ball at the moment.
    • 1' Away we go in Sunderland! The Black Cats in their home kit, Blackpool in light and dark blue.
    • 15:00 The players are on the pitch - and a minute's silence is being held for those former players and staff at Sunderland who died in 2010.
    • 14:55 Crowd still fillilng up at The Stadium of Lifht, the players off the pitch for the time being.
    • 14:50 Blackpool are not the sort of side to worry too much about what statistics have said in the past, but they might want to put their fingers in their ears for this one: Sunderland have won their last eight Premier League matches against promoted teams at The Stadium of Light, outscoring the visitors 20-4. Their total Premier League record against promoted team at home is 15 wins, three draws, five defeats.
    • 14:45 Blackpool cannot field Charlie Adam as he's suspended (he would have missed Liverpool had it not been postponed), while Gilks, Basham, Clarke, Harewood and Almond remain ruled out by injury.
    • 14:40 Welbeck back in after missing the United game on Boxing Day because he is not able to face his parent club, and Meyler and Cattermole also come in at the expense of Riveros, Zenden and Malbranque, all of whom are options on the bench. Looks like Bruce will field a three-pronged attack with Welbeck joining Bent and Gyan up front.
    • 14:35 FACTS: Bad omens for Blackpool - Sunderland are unbeaten in their last 11 games in all competitions at home to Blackpool, since the Tangerines won 4-1 in February 1958 - and the Black Cats are unbeaten at the Stadium of Light in the league this season.
    • 14:30 SUNDERLAND: Gordon, Elmohamady, Onuoha, Ferdinand, Bardsley, Henderson, Cattermole, Meyler, Welbeck, Bent, Gyan - Subs: Mignolet, Richardson, Zenden, Malbranque, Angeleri, Riveros, Bramble
    • 14:30 BLACKPOOL: Kingson, Eardley, Cathcart, Evatt, Crainey, Taylor-Fletcher, Vaughan, Sylvestre, Varney, Grandin, Campbell Subs: Halstead, Southern, Ormerod, Baptiste, Phillips, Edwards, Carney
    • 14:25 Blackpool are 11th, would you believe, despite having played fewer games than anyone else in the Premier League. They've only played twice since November 27 after frozen pitches have put paid to games at Bloomfield Road. Will they be fresh today?
    • 14:20 Sunderland have had a cracking time of things this season, but a trip to Manchester United, where Steve Bruce just hasn't learned to win, arrested some of that momentum. They'll need to bounce back against Blackpool at the Stadium of Light.
    • 14:15 Good afternoon everyone, and welcome to LIVE text commentary of Sunderland v Blackpool at the Stadium of Light on Bank Holiday Tuesday.
