    • F-T So, 2-2 the final score here at the DW Stadium after a thoroughly entertaining game. Arsenal remain third, though are now just two points behind leaders Manchester United having played a game more, while Wigan climb above Birmingham and Fulham into 16th. Full Premier League standings.
    • 90+5' There's the full-time whistle! They were 2-1 down and down to 10 men, but Wigan have salvaged a point that takes them out of the relegation zone!
    • 90+4' Eboue lumps it long, Alcaraz clears, Arsenal build again and look to thread it through again, but Figueroa hacks clear, more decisively this time.
    • 90+3' Bendtner rises highest to meet a cross from the left, but can get no real power into the header, and Al Habsi claims easily.
    • 90+2' Nasri spins well and fires in a shot, but it cannons back off a defender. Now Sagne fires in a fine cross to the back post for Bendtner and Squillaci...but neither of them can turn it home!! Goal kick, and Wigan breathe another sigh of relief.
    • 90+1' Four minutes' stoppage time to be added.
    • 90' The corner comes to nothing. It was McArthur's arm that was raised, the ball certainly hit it, and the substitute can count himself very lucky that he didn't give away a penalty there. We've seen plenty of those given.
    • 89' Nasri is standing over the ball, SHOUTS FOR A HANDBALL AS IT COMES OFF A WIGAN ARM IN THE WALL...NO PENALTY! Corner instead.
    • 88' Arsenal may have beaten Chelsea two days ago, but it looks like all that good work may be undone here, though they have a free-kick right on the edge of the area after Figueroa fells Bendtner.
    • 87' Another Arsenal attack comes to an end as Rosicky gets his studs caught in the turf. Just three minutes plus stoppage time left.
    • 85' Figueroa is on for Stam as Wigan look to close out and hold on for a point.
    • 84' Lovely jinking run by Rosicky, but his pass out wide is read by Alcaraz.
    • 83' Wenger has reacted by sending Nasri and Walcott on in place of Wilshere and Arshavin.
    • 82' Squillaci is still shaking his head. He allowed Caldwell to get the wrong side of him, and when the ball came back across goal, there was nothing really he could do to save himself.
    • 81' Wigan have a corner. Watson delivers to the far post, Rodallega rises highest...AND SQUILLACI HEADS INTO THE BACK OF HIS OWN NET UNDER PRESSURE FROM CALDWELL!!! WIGAN ARE LEVEL!!!!
    • 80' Super challenge from Sagna to halt Gohouri's storming run.
    • 79' Wigan really ahev their worjk cut out now. They're without their most creative player, are down to ten men, and have 11 minutes plus stoppage time to find a goal.
    • 78' RED CARD!! N'Zogbia is off! He headbutted Wilshere, the refere missed it, but the fourth official saw it, and Wigan's best player in this game is trudging off. He can have no complaints.
    • 77' Gohouri now flashes a shot wide of the near post!
    • 75' N'Zogbia breaks at speed and plays a neat one-two with McArthur, N'Zogbia charges in on goal, Fabianski saves, it comes back out to McArthur, but he can't dig it out from under his feet and Arsenal survive!
    • 74' Caldwell is booked for a crude tackle on Chamakh.
    • 72' Ouch! Heaby challenge by Sagna on Cleverley, and Wigan have another chance to put a free-kick into the Arsenal area. Watson with the delivery...poor again!!! It goes straight to the first defender!
    • 71' McArthur is on for Thomas for Wigan.
    • 70' Gorgeous move now from Arsenal, Wilshere dinks a through ball for Arshavin, he charges in on goal...saved by Al Habsi! That was a trademark counter-attack from the Gunners that almost put the match to bed.
    • 69' Wigan have another free-kick in a more central, more inviting position now. N'Zogbia is lining it up...but it's Rodallega who hits it...disappointing effort. From 35 yards you need a lot more power than that to trouble Fabianski.
    • 68' Ben Watson swings a free-kick into the Arsenal area, but it's far too low, allowing Sagna to head clear.
    • 67' Djourou, Nasri and Walcott are all warming up on the touchline. I wonder if we'll see any of them come in in the next few minutes.
    • 65' A lovely passage of play from Arsenal is brought to an end as Hendry trips Rosicky. There must have been about 20 faultless passes there.
    • 64' Cleverley's pressure on Sagne pays off and he's first to a loose ball deep in the Arsenal half, he takes it into the area, but his curling shot is off target!
    • 63' Super challenge from Denilson to halt another N'Zogbia charge. N'Zogbia is certainly looking like the one man who can make something happen for the home side.
    • 62' N'Zognia runs onto Stam's pass and charges into the area, but over-runs it, allowing Koscielny to punt the ball clear
    • 61' Fabianski with an unconvincing kick that loops up high in the air, and he's fortunate that Sagna is the man under the ball. He heads clear, but Wigan can come forward again.
    • 60' Patient play from Arsenal as Squillaci goes back to the 'keeper following intense Wigan pressing.
    • 59' Arshavin swings in the corner towards Chamakh, he rises unchallenged...AND THE BALL WHISTLES MILLIMETRES PAST THE POST! There was nobody on that post either! That was almost Arsenal's third!
    • 58' Fine run by Wilshere into the area, he is dispossessed but it falls to Sagna, who crosses to the near post, and Alcaraz heads behind at full stretch.
    • 57' Cleverley now wrestles Eboue to the ground as the Ivorian shepherds Stam's searching ball out for a goal kick.
    • 56' Wigan look to build from the back now, but they're finding it difficult to play their way through this Arsenal side, and eventually Eboue wins it back for the Gunners.
    • 54' Rosicky looks to release Sagna down the right, though marginally overhits the pass. That duo of Rosicky and Wilshere are dominating this game at the moment. Wigan need to find an answer to them.
    • 53' Wilshere is penalised for a foul in midfield, though he has really made a difference since he came on in place of Diaby.
    • 52' Wigan finally get some time on the ball in midfield. Arsenal were rampant just before half-time, though Roberto Martinez's side seem to have regained their composure.
    • 50' N'Zogbia strides forward and cuts inside fromt he left flank, he looks for the run of Thomas, but Sagna is there with a fine challenge to clear the danger for Arsenal.
    • 47' Wigan fans should not despair. There have been five goals scored in the 89th minute or later in the last three meetings between these two sides.
    • 46' Arsenal get the second half underway.
    • H-T Well, Wigan were by far the better side for much of that first half, and created all the early chances. They deservedly took the lead through Ben Watson's penalty, but two clinical Arsenal attacks just before the half-time whistle saw Arshavin and Bendtner send the Gunners in 2-1 up.
    • 45+5' There's the half-time whistle. Wigan 1-2 Arsenal.
    • 45+5' N'Zogbia now brings it forward down the left and slips a neat ball in for Rodallega, the angle is tight but he takes the shot on anyway, and Fabianski parries it behind for a corner! Decent hit, but it was going to take something extra special to beat the 'keeper from there.
    • 45+4' One final Arsenal attack in this first half as Arshavin looks to play in Chamakh, but Alcaraz stands strong to muscle his opponent off the ball.
    • 45+3' The free-kick is aimed by Arshavin in towards Chamakh...but he can't get up high enough to direct his header goalwards.
    • 45+2' Arsenal are well and truly camped inside the Wigan half, and now Caldwell gives away another free-kick after going through the back of Arshavin.
    • 45' Four minutes stoppage time to be added, and Wigan's fine start has been undone by two Arsenal attacks right at the end of this half.
    • 44' GOAL!!! Bendtner puts Arsenal 2-1 up after what was a fine team move!!! Arshavin picked the ball up in, played a somewhat crude ball through to Bendtner, who nevertheless bundled his way through Alcaraz and Caldwell, before slotting the ball past Al Habsi.
    • 42' Wigan need half-time to come soon. Arsenal have really stepped up a gear in the last couple of minutes.
    • 41' Whether Arsenal deserved that or not is debatable, but it has certainly transformed the dynamic of the game. Rosicky brings it forward for them again, and is unfortunate not to be given a free-kick just to the right of the area after a challenge from Gohouri.
    • 40' GOAL!!! Arshavin brings Arsenal level!!! Bendtner ran onto a long ball over the top, drew a fine low save from Al-Habsi, the ball rebounded out, and Arshavin reacted superbly, pulling off an acrobatic volley to smash the ball home!
    • 39' N'Zogbia looks to orchestrate a quick Wigan break, but Eboue nicks the ball off him, and wins Arsenal a free-kick.
    • 38' Arsenal have had 54% of the possession so far, compared to Wigan's 46%, but Wigan have been far more productive when they have had the ball.
    • 37' The referee finally blow for a free-kick now as Eboue goes in late on Watson.
    • 36' Wilshere is getting his foot on the ball more and more in the middle of the park, but Wigan's pressing is still stifling Arsenal - more great defending there from Cleverley prevents a corner as Sagna attacked down the right.
    • 34' Stam flattens Arshavin and doesn't get a whole lot of the ball, but Lee Probert sees nothing wrong with the challenge. Wenger was up in arms on the touchline there.
    • 33' Rodallega holds off Koscielny superbly and looks for the onrushing N'Zogbia with a square ball...Squillaci intercepts.
    • 32' Marouane Chamakh is muscled out of another challenge by Alcaraz. The Frenchman has hardly seen the ball so far. Usually he's a player who can mix it with any centre-backs, but he's not asserted himself at all so far tonight.
    • 31' Alcaraz hits the free-kick long to Rodallega, though Koscielny is there first.
    • 30' A few spicy challenges are flying in now, though everything is still just about legal, until Sagna scythes down Thomas - that is. Thomas had only just come back on the pitch, and is already in the wars again!
    • 29' Thomas is back on his feet now, and trudges slowly to the touchline. He should be okay to continue...though just as I type that he seems to be headed for the tunnel too. We'll see if he re-emerges. Meanwhile, play recommences.
    • 28' An Arsenal substitution already. Wilshere is on for Diaby. I think that may well be an injury, as Diaby has disappeared off down the tunnel.
    • 27' Fine defending from N'Zogbia to halt Arshavin in his tracks, though Thomas then brings down the Czech midfielder, and Arsenal havea free-kick in the Wigan half. Thomas caught an elbow in the face making that challenge, and is now receiving treatment.
    • 26' Squillaci aims a long ball at Chamakh, but he can't hold it, and Alcaraz clears.
    • 24' Arsenal are getting their foot on the ball a little more now, though Wigan still look confident and happy to attack the Gunners.
    • 23' Arshavin swings in a corner for Arsenal, Al-Habsi punches clear, the shot comes back in from Rosicky, Al-Habsi saves low but can't hold it and Koscielny rushes in for the rebound...Al-Habsi finally gathers at the second attempt!
    • 22' Halfway through the first half, and it's looking as though Arsene Wenger may live to regret those eight changes he made. So far, his side are being outplayed, and could easily be two goals down.
    • 21' Fabianski comes flying from his goal and brings down Rodallega!!! Wigan scream for another penalty...NOT GIVEN!!! That was a big call! To be fair, Koscielny had beaten Rodallega to the first ball, but Rodallega may well have got to it to keep it in play had he not been clattered by Fabianski.
    • 18' GOAL!!! Fabianski guesses the right way, but the spot-kick from Watson is a superb one, smashed right into the corner! Wigan lead 1-0!
    • 17' PENALTY!!! Koscielny brings down N'Zogbia just inside the area, and Watson has the chance to give Wigan the lead! Silly challenge! It was only centimetres inside the area, but you can't really argue with the decision.
    • 16' Eboue stands up a fine ball for Arshavin at the far post, only for the Russian to fluff his volley. he was on the stretch, to be fair.
    • 15' Arshavin looks for the run of Chamakh with a clipped ball in behind the Wigan defence, but the Frenchman wasn't expecting that. Al-Habsi claims.
    • 14' Arshavin with the corner - awful delivery. It was hit straight along the ground to the defender at the near post.
    • 13' Bendtner hits the free-kick himself...and it deflects off the end of the wall and out for a corner.
    • 11' After a passage of play in which both sides surrender possession far too easily, Bendtner is brought down by Caldwell right on the edge of the area. This is dangerous.
    • 10' Wigan boss Roberto Martinez can be very happy with the start his side have made. They look the far hungrier, and could easily be 1-0 up.
    • 9' N'Zogbia drives in a low shot from distance - routine save for Fabianski.
    • 8' Rosicky wide for Diaby, he looks to feed in Eboue, but the Ivorian didn't read Diaby's thoughts, and the through ball runs straight to Al-Habsi. Rosicky has clearly taken over the mantle of Fabregas this evening, pulling the strings in midfield.
    • 7' Gohouri hits a real Hollywood ball for N'Zogbia right across the field to the far corner flag - and the former Newcastle man might just make this - indeed he does, though he bundles Eboue over as soon as he gets to the ball, and Arsenal have a free-kick.
    • 6' Well, chances aplenty in the opening five minutes. If today’s game has anything like the drama of last season’s corresponding fixture, then we’re in for a cracker. Arsenal were 2-0 up with just over 10 minutes to play, but Wigan came back to win 3-2.
    • 5' Rosicky spreads a glorious ball wide for Arshavin on the left flank, he closes in on goal...but volleys just over with Caldwell coming steaming across to make the challenge.
    • 4' Rodallega dispossesses Squillaci, who wants a free-kick but won't get it...just Koscielny to beat for Rodallega now...but the Frenchman stands tall and makes a fine challenge!
    • 3' Good pressure from Rodallega to dispossess Koscielny, it falls for Cleverley on the left, he crosses for Rodallega who has got clear of Koscielny...BUT IS INCHES AWAY FROM CONNECTING WITH A HEADER FROM POINT BLANK RANGE!!! What a start from Wigan!
    • 2' N'Zogbia shows a good turn of pace to beat his man down the left flank, though there's nobody up with him to get onto the end of his inviting ball across goal.
    • 1' Diame and Rodallega get the first half underway!
    • 19:45 A chilly evening here in Lancashire - just a couple of degrees above zero. A good crowd here at the DW Stadium, though there are still a few empty seats about the place. The players are now out on the pitch, and we're almost ready to go.
    • 19:40 A win today for Wigan would likely see them rise to 15th, while Arsenal will go above Manchester City into second should they win, and if they win by five or more goals then they'll go top. Full Premier League standings
    • 19:35 So Arsene Wenger has really rung the changes following his side's 3-1 win over Chelsea. Cesc Fabregas misses out through suspension, though there are no fewer than eight changes in total to the starting line-up. As for Wigan, Hendry Thomas returns to the side following suspension, so McArthur drops to the bench.
    • 19:30 Lee Probert is the man in the middle for tonight's game.
    • 19:25 Arsenal team: Fabianski, Eboue, Squillaci, Koscielny, Sagna, Diaby, Rosicky, Denilson, Bendtner, Chamakh, Arshavin. Substitutes: Szczesny, Nasri, Vela, Walcott, Wilshere, Djourou, Clichy.
    • 19:20 Wigan Athletic team: Al Habsi, Stam, Gary Caldwell, Alcaraz, Gohouri, Thomas, Diame, Cleverley, Watson, N'Zogbia, Rodallega. Substitutes: Pollitt, Boselli, Steven Caldwell, Gomez, McArthur, Figueroa, McManaman.
