    • - Don't forget you can watch highlights of this match, along with every Premier League game, from 00:01 on Monday morning (UK only).
    • 90+3' FULL TIME. A decent result for both sides as Leon Best's goal cancels out Gabriel Agbonlahor's opener.
    • 90+1' Marveaux picks out Cabaye's late run to the back post and finds the Frenchman, but his colleague stabs his effort wide of the post.
    • 90' We will have three added minutes at Villa Park.
    • 88' That really was quite a stunning stop from Given. He extended his right arm and showed brilliant reflexes. Newcastle won't need to be told that though.
    • 87' What a save! Given flies to his right to keep out a quite brilliant volley from Cabaye!
    • 86' Nathan Delfouneso replaces Bent in the Villa attack.
    • 85' On comes Sammy Ameobi for Jonas. Two Ameobis in attack for Newcastle now.
    • 84' A low shot from Ameobi does little to trouble Given as he saves at his near post.
    • 82' Excellent work from Krul as he punches clear under real pressure from Collins as the ball comes into the box. Top goalkeeping.
    • 81' That leaves Ameobi up front on his own for the Magpies but the introduction of Marveaux should ensure a better supply to the striker.
    • 80' Sylvain Marveaux on for Ba for Newcastle.
    • 79' The ball rolls invitingly into the path of Albrighton but after he rolls it away from Tiote his effort lacks the accuracy to trouble Krul as it curls wide.
    • 78' Ireland attempts to find Collins with a deep cross but Newcastle clear. When the ball comes back into the box Krul grabs it at the far post.
    • 77' Lovely from N'Zogbia as he accelerates away from his man and attempts to find Agbonlahor with a low cross. However, he is swamped by Newcastle shirts as he prepares to tap in from close range.
    • 75' The introduction of Ireland is interesting from McLeish though. He hasn't done a whole lot so far but may be motivated to prove a point after that anonymous loan spell at St James' Park.
    • 73' It has been a pretty open, entertaining game and it could still go either way. As things stand though, both sides are protecting their unbeaten records.
    • 71' Steven Taylor clears after Bent lifts the ball over Krul and watches as it threatens to roll home. However it was the defender's initial error that allowed the striker to steal in.
    • 69' Goalscorer Best is replaced by Shola Ameobi.
    • 68' Stephen Ireland and Marc Albrighton replace Bannan and Petrov. Ireland plays against the side that had him on loan last season.
    • 67' Decent hit from Ba from 25 yards but Given gets his body behind it and clasps the ball.
    • 66' Courtesy of Infostrada: Leon Best scored his fifth goal in his last six PL matches. He has scored a total of nine PL goals in 2011 – seven more than Andy Carroll (2) has netted this year.
    • 64' Taylor's effort is well off target though. That was a disappointing free-kick.
    • 63' Petrov penalised for a foul on Best 30 yards from goal and Ryan Taylor looks interested.
    • 62' There was certainly a suspicion of offside about Best's equaliser for Newcastle and that merits further scrutiny.
    • 60' Best was booked for his celebrations following the goal.
    • 59' Villa look for a quick response as Bannan fires over the bar from inside the box.
    • 57' GOAL! 1-1! Newcastle keep the ball moving following Cabaye's effort and when Tiote flings a deep cross into the box, Best's header is saved by Given but spills into the path of the striker, who whacks it home from close range.
    • 57' Newcastle hit the bar! It is Cabaye with a fierce effort as he rattles the woodwork!
    • 55' Ouch. Cabaye leaves his leg in on Bannan and catches the Scot in a rather delicate area. He is warned by the ref to calm things down.
    • 54' Bent attempts to bulldoze his way through the Newcastle defence but he cannot find his way past Krul.
    • 53' Villa look better at the start of the second half and are not letting Newcastle dictate proceedings as they were in the first half.
    • 51' Cabaye's corner is too deep but Newcastle retain possession before Delph slides in on Tiote by the touchline.
    • 49' Krul does well to claim a free-kick under pressure and though he looks for the quick release, Newcastle are unable to break.
    • 47' Lovely from Agbonlahor! He holds off Simpson after receiving a pass from Bent and fires an effort just wide of the post.
    • 46' KICK OFF!

    • 45+3' HALF TIME. Agbonlahor's goal has Villa in front but Newcastle are the better side by some distance.
    • 45+1' We will have two minutes of added time.
    • 45+1' Collins, again, leaps in the way of a ball into the box from Ryan Taylor. The Welshman has been impressive so far.
    • 45' Now Collins throws himself in the way of a ball into the box from Ryan Taylor but judges this one right and clears for Villa.
    • 43' Collins, under pressure from Best, almost turns a Jonas cross into his own net as he skews the ball over his own shoulder. Given is alert though and comes across to catch.
    • 42' Obertan and Jonas have swapped flanks now, with the former stationed on the left ahead of Ryan Taylor.
    • 41' Warnock appears to be fouled by Jonas but the ref plays on and Newcastle win a corner. Cabaye with the delivery once again but Villa hold firm and clear. They are soaking up plenty of pressure at present.
    • 39' In 40 games this season, a team has come from behind to win on only three occasions. That underlines the size of the task facing Newcastle despite their improvement in the past 30 minutes.
    • 37' Bannan sprays the ball out to N'Zogbia with a delicious cross-field pass but the winger cannot produce a fitting finish as he rifles his shot well off target.
    • 35' Another Cabaye delivery causes problems as Coloccini flicks on at the near post and Obertan drills a firm shot back across goal and wide.
    • 34' Ba looks lively again as his effort from 25 yards is blocked. Newcastle are enjoying a good passage of play which has seen them put Villa under real pressure.
    • 33' Lovely stuff from Newcastle. Obertan, who has looked in very good form, breaks away from Warnock again and plays in Ba. He takes a touch and then spins and sees his shot deflected over for a corner.
    • 32' Jonas spoons a shot over the bar from ten yards after Simpson's ball into the box is flicked on.
    • 31' Petrov, who has already scored one stunning effort against Everton this season, allows the ball to drop 35 yards from goal and lets fly with a volley that soars over the bar.
    • 30' Cabaye produces a lovely through-ball for Best but the striker is ruled offside as his shot flicks off Given and hits the outside of the near post.
    • 29' Great effort! Cabaye swings in a corner and Steven Taylor loses his man before hooking a volley at goal and forcing Given into a diving stop.
    • 28' Obertan tricks his way past Warnock on the right wing but his low cross is booted clear by Richard Dunne in the centre of the box.
    • 26 Miss by Bent! N'Zogbia plays in Petrov down the left and he cuts back for Bent, who has the goal at his mercy. However, the striker has little time to react and can only direct the ball wide of the post. He really should have scored.
    • 24' Ba receives a pass from Best and bears down on goal but the striker is ruled to be offside as his shot strikes the legs of Given.
    • 23' Bannan skips away from Cabaye on the right wing. The Scot is a very tidy little player, even if Gerard Houllier never rated him.
    • 22' Warnock hobbles down the touchline but appears to be fine to continue.
    • 21' Warnock does well to halt Obertan on the edge of the box but then takes a knock and requires treatment on his back. McLeish looks on concerned.
    • 19' Collins goes in hard on Demba Ba with his foot high and raised but avoids punishment as he nicks the ball away from the big striker.
    • 18' Stiliyan Petrov turns quickly in the box and unleashes a low effort which is deflected out for a corner. Newcastle clear from the set-piece.
    • 16' An ambitious effort from Bannan, who collects a header from Bent, lets the ball bounce and then unleashes a fine volley that dips and soars just wide of the far post.
    • 15' That was Agbonlahor's 25th goal at Villa Park by the way. Only Dwight Yorke (37), Dion Dublin (28) and Juan Pablo Angel (28) have more in the Premier League. Thanks to Infostrada for that fact.
    • 13' GOAL! 1-0 Aston Villa! Agbonlahor does excellently to outmuscle Coloccini, maintain his poise and then slip a shot past Krul from eight yards out. Terrible defending though.
    • 13' Fabricio Coloccini, reinventing himself as a left winger, whips in a cross but cannot find a Newcastle shirt.
    • 12' Shay Given, against his former side, is forced to take evasive action when an effort from Gabriel Obertan threatens to dip under the crossbar. The keeper tips the ball over for a corner but Villa clear from Cabaye's delivery.
    • 10' Taylor smacks his effort against the wall and when Newcastle work the ball back into the box, Stephen Warnock is forced to head behind for a corner.
    • 9' N'Zogbia is guilty of a foul as he trips Best some 20 yards from goal just as the striker is ready to dart into the box. Ryan Taylor stands over it...
    • 8' Agbonlahor picks up possession in the left channel and drives inside with intent, but he is crowded out by black and white shirts.
    • 7' Yohan Cabaye enjoys his first sight of goal when collecting the ball from Leon Best, finding space and lashing a shot wide of the left-hand post. Nice attempt from the France international.
    • 6' Charles N'Zogbia attempts to break free down the left against his former side but Danny Simpson is in attendance and slides in to halt the run of the Frenchman.
    • 4' Jonas Gutierrez attempts to play a ball into the box but James Collins heads clear for Villa.
    • 3' Barry Bannan pops a lovely ball over the top of the Newcastle defence for Gabriel Agbonlahor to chase onto but Tim Krul comes off his line to collect.
    • 2' A quiet start at Villa Park and Newcastle look comfortable on a warm afternoon in the Midlands.
    • 1' KICK OFF!

    • 14:50 And speaking of England recall, here is Alex McLeish on Gaby Agbonlahor: "He’s probably at his physical peak no. I'd like to think he could play another 200 games and get back into the England reckoning and then he’ll be really on fire. He's rapid, he’s lost none of his pace. If he really gets his head down he could be anything. He's surprised me with his technical ability as well as his speed. I'm pleased with his start to the season."
    • 14:45 Alan Pardew: "Steven Taylor is probably playing the best football of his career for me. I think he has a chance of being involved in England again. I think the management should come and have a look at him, he's doing that well. He is a good player, Steven. I do see a tendency of players to be picked elsewhere than in the north-east. Steven Taylor is definitely playing at a level where he should be considered, in my view."
    • 14:40 New Toon signing Davide Santon has picked up a knee injury in training and misses the game. No firm view on how long he'll be out, with a scan due for Monday. Ryan Taylor deputises. Hatem Ben Arfa is finally fit but will not be risked so soon after his recovery; Haris Vuckic (broken hand), Mehdi Abeid and Mike Williamson (broken arm) remain on the casualty list.
    • 14:35 Some Toon 'old boys' in action today for Villa. Shay Given and Charles N'Zogbia start, with Steven Ireland on the bench. Erstwhile England duo Emile Heskey and Jermaine Jenas are injured, Carlos Cuellar is not match fit after returning from a knee problem, and Eric Lichaj has had a hip op.
