    • 90+2' Rovers are set to go out with a whimper here as Wigan get a free-kick in the centre circle.
    • 90+1' Beausejour provided the corner for the goal.
    • 90' Three minutes of added time at Ewood, but Blackburn need two goals to survive.
    • 89' And as you can imagine, the protesting chants of reached a new decibel high.
    • 88' Powerful header from the corner which Robinson got a hand to but couldn't keep it out. Conor Sammon had come on for Di Santo just beforehand.
    • 87' ALCARAZ! Wigan lead! Blackburn are all but doomed!
    • 86' Wigan have another corner coming up.
    • 84' Now Boyce with a peach of a cross which Maloney heads over. He was unmarked and timed his leap a little early, but should have buried that.
    • 82' Moses! Saved by Robinson! McCarthy in for the rebound but his first touch is loose and the keeper is somehow able to prevent Moses from having another dig!
    • 81' Final sub for Blackburn, and the only one they have been able to make by choice: striker David Goodwillie is on for defender Orr.
    • 80' The set piece is cleared, but the hosts keep pressing and a low cross by Olsson is just kept from Yakubu by Al Habsi!
    • 79' Hoilett finds some space but instead of playing in a team-mate, loses balance whilst going for goal. Al Habsi spills it, however, and a corner is forthcoming.
    • 78' Di Santo has a tame effort at goal collected by Robinson.
    • 77' ...but it ends when Dann is ruled to be shoving Alcaraz.
    • 76' Blackburn have a free-kick and will sent it long into the penalty area. The box is crowded...
    • 75' Possession: Blackburn 34-66%
    • 74' Sixteen minutes and Rovers will go down, unless they can score here.
    • 72' Robinson takes a Boyce cross comfortably.
    • 71' ...but the winger will be booked for simulation.
    • 70' Moses goes down in the box! The whistle sounds...
    • 69' The flag kick appears to find Boyce unmarked at the far post but the delivery went out of play while in the air.
    • 68' Di Santo goes for goal from the free-kick... it's off the wall and out for a corner.
    • 66' Pedersen on Maloney as Wigan had numbers in attack, and that rightly earns the winger a booking.
    • 65' Free-kick to Wigan in a dangerous area now, just over 20 yards from goal and central.
    • 64' @bronnimoose: "Blackburn fan hurls his season ticket at Steve Kean... massive gesture when done during the last home game of the season..." keep your comments coming @liamhappe (a cheeky follow is always appreciated too)
    • 63' Pedersen sends a free-kick into the danger zone, but Al Habsi claims it.
    • 61' Modeste receives treatment as anti-Kean and Venky's chants get louder and louder.
    • 60' Steve Kean is furious and Petrovic is booked. The man he came on for, Givet, looks to be fine as he joins the rest of the squad in the stands. Apparently just a hamstring strain.
    • 59' Blackburn have a free-kick 35 yards from goal, which Pedersen sends in with his first decent delivery of the game. It sparks a goalmouth scamble and there's a shout for a penalty as Boyce appears to trip Hoilett!
    • 58' Can Rovers stave off relegation tonight? Will Wigan get the win they need to be safe? Let me know your predictions on Twitter @liamhappe, we're publishing your thoughts during tonight's updates.
    • 57' Di Santo again looks to set up Moses with a cross, but the effort is over.
    • 56' Almost a half-chance for Modeste which is snuffed out.
    • 55' Moses sends a 20-yard drive well clear of the Blackburn goal.
    • 53' Now a corner for Blackburn which is headed across goal and Yakubu from a few yards out... has his shot blocked on the line by Beausejour!
    • 52' Beausejour has a distance effort deflected off-target for a corner, which is headed into the path of McCarthy for a poor shot at goal.
    • 51' The sub Petrovic gets involved, heading away a McCarthy cross.
    • 50' Inviting ball lofted down the middle by Rovers, but Al Habsi bravely down to claim it low.
    • 49' A Blackburn fan had run onto the pitch to throw his season ticket onto the ground in the early stages of the second 45. All happening here tonight, with the exception of much actual football.
    • 48' Blackburn win a pair of early corners and cause a bit of trouble in the Wigan box which Al Habsi has to punch clear, but Pedersen's follow-up cross is out for a goal kick.
    • 47' Radosac Petrovic is on in the defender's place.
    • 46' We are back underway after delays and concerns, there is an injury problem for Givet and he will not come out for the second period.
    • 21:00 In other news, I hear Geoff Shreeves has informed the chicken that he will be taken to the butchers first thing in the morning. Follow me: @liamhappe
    • 21:00 @incakolanews: "Paltry attack" @jessokdeo: "What is worse, chicken burnt black or Blackburn chicken?" @JohnNunn1: "The Blackburn Chicken makes his debut after a move from KFC" - re: the latter... surely it would be the other way around?
    • 45+2' Half-time at Ewood Park. The rain and a cameo from a chicken have overwhelmed the action but unless the hosts can score in the second half, they will be playing the likes of Hull, Millwall and Leicester next season.
    • 45+1' Last meaningful attack of the half comes from the visitors, but the cross from the left is headed away from navy blue shirts by Givet.
    • 45' Two minutes of added time at the end of the first half.
    • 43' Olsson comes on for Dunn, who has picked up an injury here.
    • 42' Di Santo is caught offside from Caldwell's raking ball upfield.
    • 40' Pedersen once again with a poor set piece delivery, the ball sailing over the crowded box and out of play.
    • 39' Blackburn have a free-kick inches from the Wigan byline now. Hoilett brought down by McCarthy.
    • 37' And McArthur fouls a sprinting Yakubu for just a warning.
    • 36' Wigan corner leads to nothing more than a Blackburn break...
    • 35' What a cross from Di Santo! And how does Moses not bury that header? Almost nodded it more away from goal than anything.
    • 34' I have word from @aled_fellowes that the Ewood Chicken account has already been suspended. A crying shame if you ask me. Even if it was set to overtake my follower count within hours of its creation.
    • 32' ...it's headed back across goal from the far post but Di Santo appears to nick it out of Moses' path! Maloney off-target with the follow-up.
    • 31' Pedersen fouls Moses and Wigan have a tasty set piece on the right wing. Going to be crossed in...
    • 30' Another Blackburn move ends when Modeste fouls McCarthy.
    • 29' @JohnPordum: "Yakuba to Modeste, modeste to the chicken, the chicken scores. If Carlsberg ran Blackburn..." @patsdonnelly: "Maybe the fans were attempting a literal and very rudimentary version of "Feed The Yak And He Will Score" #BlackburnChicken" @TheApe01: "It's like poultry in motion..." Keep them coming! @liamhappe the channel.
    • 28' Pedersen takes it... well off-target. Not one of his better efforts.
    • 27' Blackburn have a free-kick now, 30 yards out and just right of centre.
    • 26' Figueroa clears as Yakubu cross.
    • 25' Maloney's eventual cross sees Alcaraz concede a free-kick looking to meet it.
    • 24' Wigan work the corner short for possession.
    • 23' Moses absolutely ghosts through Dann and forces another Wigan corner. The winger is a handful in current form.
    • 22' Robinson does well to hold onto a driven cross from the right flank.
    • 20' The chicken from 7' is already on Twitter - @EwoodChicken...
    • 19' It's cleared by McArthur and Dunn has space for a shot... which flies over the crossbar.
    • 18' Blackburn win a corner, their first of the match.
    • 16' Some good puns coming in. I cannot publish half of them, unfortunately! But kudos to George Hanlon (@GeoShow) for "A fowl in the penalty area. when will we bring in video technology?"
    • 15' Enjoy the Blackburn chicken? Here's more on sporting animals: Top 10 animals in sport
    • 14' Di Santo fires over the bar for the visitors.
    • 12' Givet is to the rescue again as Wigan look to move down that left wing once more.
    • 11' Yakubu chests a long ball down for Modeste to volley at goal from the right-hand corner of the area, and you know what? That wasn't far from a screamer of a goal. Took a wicked curve before fizzing just over the bar.
    • 10' We need some chicken jokes after that, I feel. Tweet your best Blackburn/Wigan chicken jokes to @liamhappe.
    • 9' Di Santo! Good parry from Robinson! The striker looks to get to the rebound but Givet slides it clear.
    • 8' Fittingly, Al Habsi makes the catch, and Yakubu makes sure the chicken is unharmed as a steward comes to escort the intruder off the premises. Bit of a Venky's dig there, for sure.
    • 7' Play is stopped six and a half minutes in. Why? Because a chicken is on the pitch. A chicken in a Blackburn Rovers cape. Don't you just love football?
    • 6' Beausejour drives in a ball from the left wing which Orr gets clear from his own goalmouth.
    • 5' And now Al Habsi has to leave his area to get another inviting ball clear, this one on the ground through the middle.
    • 4' Dunn's cross-field loft pass intends to pick out Hoilett, but Caldwell heads it back to his keeper.
    • 3' Di Santo crosses low from the left but his former club get the ball clear.
    • 2' Blackburn appear to be going 4-3-3 tonight. Only a win will do if they are to take their survival battle to the final day of the season.
    • 1' Wigan kick off the first half. This relegation dogfight is underway!
    • 19:55 Remember, you can have your say during tonight's commentary. Follow me on Twitter - @liamhappe - then send over your thoughts on the game as it unfolds. We will be publishing your tweets here throughout the match!
    • 19:50 Mark Clattenburg is the man in the middle for this big game this evening.
    • 19:45 15 minutes away from kick-off now, and here's a summary of the potential relegation rammifications: Blackburn are relegated with a draw or a defeat; Wigan stay up with a victory; a draw means Wigan would have to suffer a nine-goal swing on the final day to be relegated; a defeat means Wigan could be overtaken by one or both of Bolton and Blackburn on the final day. Premier League table
    • 19:40 Wigan boss Roberto Martinez: "We can't do that (play for a point), we're not that type of team. We're a team that needs to get on the ball and control games ourselves. We need to be brave in attack and defend with good intensity. We have played with bravery, been physically very strong and have enjoyed our football. That is a reflection of the hard work of the players on the training ground and that pleases me more than anything. The football club reacted to adversity."
    • 19:35 Blackburn manager Steve Kean: "I feel as if (nerves) can give a positive edge. Sometimes you can look at the lads and think they are a little bit nervous and there is a negative energy, but they have looked bright and sharp on the training ground."
    • 19:30 In-form Wigan are unchanged, and Di Santo has shaken off a calf problem to start up front for the visitors this evening.
    • 19:25 Olsson returns for the home side after missing three games with a groin niggle. Orr makes it back to the starting XI as well following an Achilles injury. Goodwillie takes a place on the bench following his community service order last week for an incident in Glasgow last month. Goodwillie admits assault

  12. Although i am a manchester united supporter and some may say that wigan could have cost us the championship, i am happy to see them survive for two simple reasons and that is the chairman's resolve to keep his manager when things were bad. What a decent chairman unlike Abramovich who kicks out his manager as often he changes his shirts. Secondly i love the down to earth, decent Roberto who also have a fantastic command of english language. He is welcome to improve my spoken english any time!!!!!!!!.
