    • 90+5' FULL TIME. Gerrard with all three on his 400th Premier League appearance as Liverpool take the spoils on derby day.
    • 90+4' GOAL! Liverpool 3-0 Everton! Gerrard with a hat-trick! The midfielder leads the break with a surging run and plays in Suarez to the left. The forward could shoot himself but instead cuts back and lays it on a plate for Gerrard, who hammers his shot home.
    • 90+3' Everton start a scramble in the Liverpool box and although the ball rolls nicely out for the unmarked Rodwell, his effort from 20 yards skews off target. That was poor.
    • 90+2' Enrique is also show a yellow card for his part in the dispute by the touchline.
    • 90+1' We will have four minutes of added time, at least.
    • 90' Hibbert, in a fit of pique, boots the ball at Enrique to earn a booking. Again, a rather silly booking for Everton.
    • 89' Chants of "ten more years" ring out again from the home supporters as they taunt Moyes once again.
    • 87' Dowd has a chat with Drenthe and tells him to take a chill pill -well something like that anyway.
    • 86' Enrique finds space 20 yards from goal and his low effort forces Howard into a low save. However, it was never really troubling the goalkeeper.
    • 85' Drenthe now goes into the book as Everton start getting ragged. His challenge on Downing was messy and late. Silly.
    • 83' Dalglish and Moyes share words on the touchline though it's friendly enough.
    • 82' Pienaar requires treatment but should be fine to continue.
    • 81' Nasty from Gerrard as he leads with his elbow and catches Pienaar in the side of the head. That should have been a booking.
    • 79' Liverpool work the free kick short to Downing but his effort is blocked as Hibbert rushes out of the wall.
    • 78' Baines is shown a yellow card when he helps bring down Suarez. However, the forward was clearly looking for it. That's a touch unlucky.
    • 77' This game is rather meandering to a close, though you feel there could be more goals in it for Liverpool.
    • 75' Stat from Infostrada: "Liverpool haven’t scored three PL goals in the Merseyside derby since March 2006 (3-1 at home). Their last top-flight win by a three-goal margin against Everton was a 3-0 win at home in Novermber 1983."
    • 73' A change for Liverpool as Dirk Kuyt replaces Henderson. It was a better performance from the youngster.
    • 72' Hibbert delivers a deep cross to the back post and Pienaar wins a corner when challenging in the air.
    • 71' Carroll plays a clever ball round the corner for Suarez with the outside of his boot but the Uruguayan sends a low effort just wide of the far post.
    • 69' Gerrard looks to get on the end of a pass from Downing but Distin spots the danger and comes across quickly to head clear.
    • 67' The Liverpool fans are rather ironically chanting "ten more years" at Moyes and Everton and reminding the manager he has won nothing in that time. Rather uncharitable.
    • 66' Downing bends in a free kick from the right wing but Jelavic heads clear. Suarez then appears to throw himself to ground under little contact from Distin. That is a blatant dive.
    • 65' Stat from Infostrada: "Triple substitution for Everton. No substitute has scored in a PL Merseyside derby since February 2002, when Tomasz Radzinski saved a point for Everton by scoring 1-1 at Anfield."
    • 64' Fellaini is caught offside just before he crosses for Jelavic and the Croatian turns the ball just wide of the near post with a first-time effort.
    • 63' Fellaini clashes with Carroll as the striker goes to ground clutching his face, but no action is taken.
    • 62' Three changes from Everton as Anichebe, Stracqualursi and Coleman are replaced by Jelavic, Osman and Drenthe. That should make the visitors far more dangerous.
    • 61' So close for Everton! Baines pulls the ball back for Rodwell and the midfielder's low effort is cleared away by Enrique just as it appears to be sneaking in at the far post.
    • 59' Jay Spearing gets a bit over-excited and thumps his effort well over the bar from just outside the box.
    • 58' Everton are getting Nikica Jelavic and Leon Osman ready as they try and turn the tide of this game.
    • 57' Stat from Infostrada: "The last player to score a brace in a Merseyside derby in the PL was Fernando Torres on 27 September 2008. Liverpool won 2-0 at Goodison Park that day. No player has scored a hat-trick so far."
    • 55' Pienaar gets the first booking of the night when going in high on Henderson. No arguments there.
    • 54' Liverpool threaten again! Downing swings in a cross from the left and Kelly - of all people - slides in in the centre of the box and only just fails to sweep the ball home.
    • 53' Carroll goes close! Suarez does excellent again as he keeps the ball from bouncing out of play and cuts the ball back for Carroll, who pokes a low shot wide of the far post.
    • 52' Stat from Infostrada: "Steven Gerrard equals Robbie Fowler’s PL record with scoring his 6th goal in a Merseyside derby."
    • 51' GOAL! Liverpool 2-0 Everton! Gerrard with his second of the night! However, much of the credit goes to Suarez. He receives a fine pass from Henderson, sneaks past Distin and then Jagielka before seeing Gerrard run onto the ball and hammer his shot into the roof of the net.
    • 49' Stat from Infostrada: "Everton have already lost 10 PL matches this season, their total tally for the whole of last season. They haven’t lost 11 in an entire PL season since 2007/2008 (11)."
    • 48' Baines is annoyed when a decision goes against him from a throw and hurls the ball away. However it was clearly the Everton defender who took it out of play. Silly.
    • 47' Baines takes said set piece but Gerrard leaps well to head clear from the centre of the box.
    • 47' Baines is clattered into by the left touchline and Jagielka and Distin amble forward for the free kick...
    • 46' There was some concern that Gerrard would not come out for the second half as he was in some pain when leaving the field, but I am happy to report he is still out there. Neither side has made a change.
    • 46' KICK OFF!
    • - What did you make of that first half? Let me know on Twitter now. Follow @tomEurosport on Twitter!
    • 45+2' HALF TIME. Gerrard's goal has Liverpool 1-0 in front and the Reds are good value for the lead.
    • 45' We will have a minimum of one minute added time.
    • 44' Just three fouls so far in this match. Depending on your point of view that is either good or bad for a Merseyside derby.
    • 43' Everton haven't created enough in this first half and Liverpool look well placed to end their run of three consecutive league defeats.
    • 41' Stat from Infostrada: "Liverpool have lost one Merseyside derby in the Premier League after scoring first, their first PL meeting in December 1992, 2-1 at Goodison Park."
    • 40' Good defending from Distin as he holds off Suarez to prevent the forward from getting on the end of a through-ball from Henderson.
    • 39' Everton respond as Stracqualursi thumps a firm header at Reina following a cross from the left from Baines. However, the Spain international never looks troubled.
    • 38' The Liverpool fans chant Dalglish's name. Doesn't sound like too many of those in attendance today are fed up with him.
    • 37' The Liverpool fans chant Dalglish's name. Doesn't sound like too many of those in attendance today are fed up with him.
    • 36' That was a move of genuine quality from Liverpool and in a season when they have so sorely lacked a final product, Gerrard produced a touch of class to put his side in front.
    • 35' Not a bad way to mark your 400th Premier League appearance, that.
    • 34' GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Everton! A fantastic finish from Gerrard. Liverpool construct a flowing move on the bench that results in Suarez playing in Kelly, who tests Howard with a low effort. The ball then breaks for Gerrard and faced with a crowd of players he lifts the ball into the far corner. Brilliant.
    • 34' Pienaar picks out Anichebe with a nice cross and although the striker does pull the ball down effectively, when he swivels he allows Gerrard to arrive with a challenge.
    • 32' Excellent work from Howard. Enrique supplies a dangerous deep cross from the left and the keeper takes a touch and then keeps the ball in play.
    • 31' Suarez is about 20 yards offside when collecting a pass from Carroll and spinning to bear down on goal, but the assistant takes forever to raise his flag as Hibbert slides in with a fine tackle. The tease.
    • 30' This delivery is better from Baines but although Distin causes confusion in the Liverpool box, the home side do clear their lines.
    • 29' Baines with the delivery from the right but after Anichebe gets his head to the ball, Henderson clears. Everton come back though and win another corner off Downing.
    • 29' Nice work from Hibbert as his first touch takes him around Enrique. However, his subsequent cross is deflected behind for an Everton corner.
    • 28' Stat from Infostrada: "Matches involving Everton and Liverpool have seen the least goals scored in the first half this PL season, with 22 and 24 goals respectively ... in 12 of Liverpool’s PL matches this season there have been no goals in the first half, more than any other club."
    • 27' Rodwell embarks on a surging run only to be prised off the ball by Enrique. Good defending from the Spanish left-back. Everton have only had one decent chance so far, with Pienaar firing over.
    • 25' Pienaar with the delivery from the left and Jose Reina doesn't deal with it particularly convincingly as he rushes off his line and tries to punch away. Everton win possession back but when a high ball comes into the box, Reina deals with it more comfortably.
    • 24' Good persistent running from Baines as he surges forward and wins Everton a corner when his cross is deflected behind.
    • 23' Stat from Opta: "Everton’s last three Premier League away games have ended 1-1."
    • 22' Replays show that Carroll raised his arm to the neck of Baines when battling for the ball. He could easily have been booked, but the two players kiss and make up.
    • 21' Referee Phil Dowd has a word with Marouane Fellaini and Skrtel after a bout of pushing, before Gerrard sees his corner cleared by Everton.
    • 20' Distin - who was superb against Tottenham at the weekend - does well again when heading clear from a Jose Enrique cross with Carroll lurking behind him.
    • 19' Suarez wastes possession with a poor ball over the top for Carroll. If I didn't know better I could have sworn Charlie Adam had made that pass.
    • 18' Suarez intelligently lets a Downing pass run through to Carroll but his strike partner cannot find Henderson when poking a pass to the right of the box. That was the right idea though, and Liverpool continue to impress.
    • 16' The pitch opens up invitingly for Pienaar but his attempted pass for Stracqualursi is cut out by Martin Skrtel. Everton win the ball back but their probing is fruitless in and around the Liverpool box.
    • 15' Downing fails to outpace Hibbert on the left wing, which is quite an achievement. It was good defending from the right back though.
    • 13' Stat from Opta: "Only one team (Stoke) outside the Premier League relegation zone have scored fewer goals than Liverpool (30) and Everton (28)."
    • 12' Carroll wins a header and the ball falls to Suarez, who sees his fine effort draw an excellent save from Howard. Great pressure from Liverpool.
    • 11' Persistent work from Stewart Downing as he twists one way and then the other to find space and get away from Hibbert. The deep cross finds Carroll but his header is too close to Howard.
    • 10' Everton go close! The tempo of this game has risen considerably. Leighton Baines cuts in from the left to get past Martin Kelly and Henderson before cutting back to Steven Pienaar, who sees his rather wild effort fly over the bar from 10 yards out.
    • 8' Now Suarez muscles Hibbert off the ball on the left wing and sees a cross with the outside of his boot headed clear by Sylvain Distin. The Frenchman then excels again with a clearance from the ground.
    • 7' Great chance for Liverpool! Gerrard takes a superb touch from a square pass from Suarez to get free in the box and sees his low effort repelled by Howard. The ball rolls loose to Henderson but Rodwell puts in a fantastic sliding tackle to prevent the midfielder from converting.
    • 5' Stat from Infostrada: "Luis Suarez and Craig Bellamy are Liverpool’s top scorers with six goals. The only PL season in which no Liverpool player had more than six times after 27 matches into the season was 1992/1993, when Mark Walters had netted six."
    • 4' It's been a bright start from Liverpool on home turf. They look the more energetic side and are using the ball better.
    • 3' Suarez gets his first proper touch of the ball as he slips a quick pass through for Carroll, but the big striker is muscled off the ball by Phil Jagielka, making his first start since the start of January.
    • 2' Tim Howard produces a poor throw out to the left wing and Jordan Henderson intercepts. However, his cross is cleared from the centre of the box.
    • 1' KICK OFF!
    • 20:00 The two teams stream out onto the Anfield pitch and we are ready to go...
    • 19:57 Stat from Infostrada: "Steven Gerrard makes his 400th PL appearance. He is the 25th player to reach this milestone and only the fifth to achieve it for one single club after Ryan Giggs (592), Jamie Carragher (476), Paul Scholes (474) and Gary Neville (400). "

    • 19:50 This fixture has produced the most red card (20) than any in the Premier League era, with 11 in the last 14 installments, but Dalglish has played down the animosity between the two clubs.
    • 19:45 Perhaps the stat of the day from Opta is this: "If the season had started on January 1, Liverpool would be in the relegation zone (W1 D2 L5)." That puts Liverpool's recent struggles into stark relief, and perhaps explains why some of their younger fans are growing frustrated with Dalglish, despite his grand legacy at the club and recent Carling Cup victory. • 19:40 David Moyes celebrates 10 years in charge of Everton this week but he has never triumphed in a Merseyside derby at Anfield. Indeed, he has only finished ahead of the Reds in the league table in one campaign - 2004-05 - but a victory tonight would see him edge in front of his fellow Scot, Dalglish, for the time being at least. Our very own Alex Chick has been appraising his reign at Goodison.
    • 19:35 It's no surprise to see Liverpool drop Charlie Adam - he had horrid games in the defeats to Sunderland and Arsenal - as captain Gerrard returns to the starting line-up. Jamie Carragher is also in for Sebastian Coates and Stewart Downing and Carroll come in for Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt. Everton's six changes see Phil Jagielka, Tony Hibbert, Steven Pienaar, Jack Rodwell, Victor Anichebe and Denis Stracqualursi come in.
    • 19:30 TEAMS: Liverpool: Reina, Kelly, Enrique, Skrtel, Carragher, Spearing, Gerrard, Henderson, Downing, Suarez, Carroll. Subs: Doni, Shelvey, Maxi, Flanagan, Kuyt, Adam, Coates. /// Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Distin, Jagielka, Baines, Coleman, Fellaini, Pienaar, Rodwell, Stracqualursi, Anichebe. Subs: Mucha, Heitinga, Jelavic, Drenthe, Cahill, Neville, Osman.
    • 19:25 The early team news is filtering in and it is favourable for Liverpool. Everton make six changes from the side that defeated Tottenham at the weekend with Nikica Jelavic, Phil Neville, Royston Drenthe and Tim Cahill all dropping to the bench. Steven Gerrard starts for Liverpool, along with Andy Carroll. Full line-ups will be with you ASAP.
    • 19:20 This is a rather big game for Kenny Dalglish. A fourth consecutive league defeat will see Everton take league position as well as local pride and bump the Reds down to eighth place with 10 games of the season remaining. There have been some stirrings, however minor, against King Kenny out late. Mind you, just how much importance you should attach to a Twitter campaign (#KENNYOUT) is another question entirely. Early Doors: Some facts about Liverpool
    • 19:15 Hello and welcome to our live text commentary on the 217th Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton at Anfield.
