    • - Don't forget you can watch highlights of this match, along with every Premier League game, from 00:01 on Monday morning (UK only).
    • 90+3' The final whistle goes, and Manchester City's unbeaten run continues by virtue of them ending Newcastle's.
    • 90+1' Four minutes of added time to be played. Johnson hits a low ball across goal that Silva can't quite guide home.
    • 90' That's Gosling's first ever Premier League goal for Newcastle since joining them from Everton last year.
    • 89' GOAL!! MAN CITY 3-1 NEWCASTLE!! Perch slips a through ball into the path of Ba. The striker collides with Hart as they both go for the loose ball and Gosling is in the right place to tap into the empty net!
    • 88' Silva helping City keep the style going even in the closing stages, but Newcastle are determined to leave Manchester with some pride intact by not letting this turn into a rout.
    • 87' City equal a Premier League record by scoring at least three times in six successive matches. They equal today’s opponents Newcastle United who did this in 1994/1995.
    • 85' Newcastle substitution: James Perch replaces Cabaye.
    • 84' Man City substitution: Gareth Barry replaces Yaya Toure. Barry was earlier this week credited with scoring England's 2000th goal in the 1-0 win against Sweden.
    • 83' City have now scored 42 goals in their first 12 Premier League matches, the most by a club in the top flight at this stage of the season for 48 years, since Tottenham Hotspur netted 44 times in their first 12 in the 1963/1964 season.
    • 81' Two offsides in quick succession as City go in search of a fourth goal. Newcastle look like a team who just want this game to be over.
    • 79' Newcastle substitution: Dan Gosling replaces Sammy Ameobi.
    • 78' Johnson nips around Ryan Taylor but he runs out of pitch to move into. Goal kick to Newcastle.
    • 77' Rather unsightly scenes in the crowd as stewards and police are working hard to keep the two sets of fans seperate in the stands.
    • 76' Newcastle substitution: Peter Lovenkrands replaces Ben Arfa.
    • 75' Man City substitution: Adam Johnson replaces Aguero. The England winger signed a new contract earlier this week.
    • 74' City preparing to make a change, as there appears to be a problem with Aguero now.
    • 73' Ageuro's 10th league goal of the season mean both he and Edin Dzeko are both in double figures already!
    • 72' GOAL!! MAN CITY 3-0 NEWCASTLE!! Just like Balotelli, Aguero finishes his spot-kick coolly into the bottom right corner!
    • 71' PENALTY!! Ben Arfa and Richards go tumbling in the Newcastle box and the referee again points to the spot! This time Aguero will take it...
    • 70' Steven Taylor has to go off to have his bleeding nose cleaned up. That mask isn't doing its job very well, then.
    • 69' Man City substitution: David Silva replaces Balotelli.
    • 67' The ball eventually makes its way to Guthrie at the far post. Hart palms his shot away and City break at speed. Aguero slips the ball into Clichy's path but the left-back was marginally offside as he hurtled forward.
    • 66' Guthrie is fouled from behind in midfield and Newcastle send their big men up for the free-kick.
    • 65' Aguero has the ball in the back of the net with a clinical low finish inside the near post, but the linesman's flag goes up for offside, albeit rather late!
    • 64' The 14 goals scored in the first half of the matches today is a season record for most first half goals on a day of the 2011/2012 season.
    • 62' Great dribbling from Aguero as he worms his way through three players and into the box. He almost sneaks the ball underneath Krul, but the Newcastle keeper manages to grab hold of the ball at the second attempt!
    • 61' Since the start of the second half, Newcastle have had 60 per cent of the possession.
    • 60' Ben Arfa comes forward with the ball. He goes across Kompany and then zips in between the City skipper and another blue shirt before seeing his low side-footed effort rebound off the post!
    • 59' Coloccini can only glance his header behind him from the corner. Ben Arfa takes it on his chest but Clichy is out to cover and clears the danger, albeit temporarily.
    • 58' Newcastle still offering something going forward, and they win another corner.
    • 57' Lovely one-touch football from City before Nasri lifts the ball into the box for Aguero, who manages to knock the ball back across goal but Steven Taylor hacks it clear.
    • 56' Nasri does his bit by tracking Gutierrez's run and eventually robbing him of the ball. That sort of work rate in the City team so often goes unnoticed.
    • 55' City have scored the highest percentage of second half goals in the top flight (77%), but have also conceded a joint league high 80% in the second half.
    • 53' Yaya Toure surges forward but he is herded away from goal by Coloccini. Cabaye then does the same with Aguero as the Argenine forward heads down the left flank.
    • 52' Yaya Toure turns neatly in the box but coloccini is right there with him and puts in a good tackle for a corner.
    • 50' City have scored at least two goals in their last 14 Premier League matches, the best streak since neighbours Manchester United scored at least two in 22 successive top flight matches in 1958 and 1959.
    • 49' Sammy Ameobi tries to nip past Clichy right on the touchline, but the city left-back puts his foot in and concedes a throw.
    • 48' Ryan Taylor swings in a free-kick from the left which Hart punches well clear. Richards appears to be limping about after colliding with his keeper.
    • 47' Newcastle have an early corner, but Cabaye's delivery is headed clear. We will learn a lot about Newcastle over the course of the next 45 minutes.
    • 46' The second half is underway!
    • 45+2' The whistle goes, and Newcastle must feel as though they've been mugged! A nightmare couple of minutes for Ryan Taylor and the Magpies are two goals down after an otherwise solid first-half performance.
    • 45+1' Two minutes of added time to be played.
    • 45' Richards scores his first league goal since last November, and what was once a tight game at the Etihad now looks like three points in the bag. What can Newcastle do to respond?
    • 44' GOAL!! MAN CITY 2-0 NEWCASTLE!! Nasri and Yaya Toure combine well but the Frenchman's pass to Richards is cut out by Ryan Taylor. The full-back dithers on the ball and Richards pounces, robs him of it and fires past Krul! Just like that, City are two goals to the good!
    • 43' That, by the way, is Balotelli's sixth league goal of the season.
    • 42' GOAL!! MAN CITY 1-0 NEWCASTLE!! Balotelli casually strokes the spot-kick into the bottom corner, and then celebrates by simply folding his arms. Too cool for school.
    • 41' PENALTY!! Balotelli's rushed volley is blocked by the raised arm of Ryan Taylor!! Referee Foy points to the spot! Balotelli will take it...
    • 40' Good tracking back from Cabaye as he lsides in to intercept a potentially defence-splitting pass.
    • 38' Gael Clichy blocks Simpson's cross and Newcastle have a corner. Ba leaps and gets his head to it, but can only glance the ball wide. That has to go down as a chance, especially considering how tight this first half has been.
    • 37' The free-kick is struck firmly enough, but it canons off the wall for a throw-in.
    • 36' Yaya Toure collides with Ryan Taylor again and once more he is penalised for the foul. This time it's in an area from which the Newcastle full-back will fancy his chances with a shot.
    • 35' Aguero is caught offside as he chases after a ball over the top.
    • 34' Lovely link-up between Ben Arfa and Ba as the former plays the latter into the box with a great reverse pass and Hart tips the low effort around the far post!
    • 33' Yohan Cabaye is fouled by Milner and stays down clutching his knee momentarily, and but gets up again soon enough.
    • 31' Hart gathers the ball right on the edge of his box. The travelling fans protest, but referee Chris Foy is not interested, and rightly so.
    • 30' Again, City make little use of a corner kick. So far they have had six shots, four of them on target. Ameobi's specualtive effort is Newcastle's only effort on goal thus far.
    • 29' James Milner lifts an inviting cross into the box and Balotelli's header brings out a fine reaction save from Tim Krul, who tips it over the bar!
    • 27' Great cross to the far post from Nasri and Ricahrds heads back across goal for Balotelli... Coloccini gets in front of the striker to deny him the chance to shoot.
    • 26' Sammy Ameobi tries his luck from outside the box, but his shot is an easy gather for Joe Hart.
    • 25' Yaya toure is penalised for ungraciously shoving Ryan Taylor over as the full-back made headway down the flank.
    • 24' Ba is back on his feet and limps off for further treatment. Seems it wasn't all that serious after all. Blessed relief for Alan Pardew. Ba has scored eight goals in his last six Premier League games.
    • 23' Ba leapt while Lescott stayed on the ground. The defender gave Ba a little shove in the back, but nothing more.
    • 22' Demba Ba requires some medical attention. He leapt up for a header and came dowen seemingly in lots of pain. This doesn't look good.
    • 21' Balotelli's attempted shot from range is blocked by Coloccini. The ball rebounds to Yaya Toure who feeds Aguero, and the Argentina striker turns on the edge of the box and fires a strike over the bar!
    • 20' City's short corner appears to have come to nothing, but Newcastle struggle to clear and they are pegged back in the final third. The Magpies hold firm, and City fail to get a shot away.
    • 19' Balotelli charges forward with the ball through the centre of the pitch. He plays it out wide to Sergio Aguero, whose return pass into the box is blocked by Ryan Taylor for a corner.
    • 18' Richards fouls Jonas gutierrez. The Argentina winger has been a real work horse for Newcastle this season, helping to cover his full-back as well a rampage down the wing.
    • 17' As you can probably tell, there's not much going on at the moment, and that is to Newcastle's credit.
    • 16' Interesting technique from Richards as he takes a throw. He really prances up the touchline before hurling the ball into play. It doesn't go that far though.
    • 14' Speaking of Simpson, the right-back collides with Samir Nasri as the pair battle for the ball, and the free-kick goes the way of the visitors.
    • 13' Of Newcastle's back five, only Danny Simpson has not played every minute of every league game this season. The full-back had dropped 19 minutes of action after being subbed off in one game.
    • 12' City dominating the possession, probing Newcastle on either flank but with little joy thus far. Newcastle holding their shape well. Everyone knows their job in this team.
    • 11' Newcastle defender Steven Taylor is still sporting that face mask to protect his broken nose. Maybe he'll keep wearing it even after it has healed, a la Petr Cech's scrum cap.
    • 10' Balotelli has scored five goals from just seven shots on target in the Premier League this season.
    • 9' First signs of an opening for City as Richards fires in a low cross from the right that pings off a couple of defenders before Newcastle manage to clear.
    • 8' Balotelli appears to get caught in the face after tussling with Danny Guthrie. It was innoccuous enough, and play continues.
    • 6' Both teams have selected their youngest starting XI of this Premier League season. The players of Manchester City have an average age of 25 years and 155 days, 42 days younger than the 11 Newcastle players.
    • 5' All rather tame early on in Manchester. Both sides are feeling each other out. This is easily Newcastle's biggest test to date. Come away from this with a result and people will really have to start taking them seriously.
    • 4' This match, of course, brings together Ben Arfa and City midfielder Nigel de Jong for the first time since the Dutchman's tackle broke the Frenchman's leg in October 2010.
    • 3' Plenty of hustle from Hatem Ben Arfa early on. He doesn't give Joleon Lescott a moment on the ball.
    • 2' Mario Balotelli surges down the rigth wing, but he's stalked the whole way by Fabricio Coloccini who makes the tackle. The Newcastle defender has really risen to the task of being the club's new captain this season.
    • 1' We're underway at the Etihad Stadium! That name is going to take some time to stick, isn't it?

    • 14:55 City's major spending in recent seasons is no more extraordinary than local rivals Manchester United's has been over a much longer period, according to former City director Dennis Tueart. Man City spending to 'catch up with United'
    • 14:50 Newcastle have not won in their last nine Premier League games against Manchester City, since a 1-0 win at St. James’ Park in September 2005 when Michael Owen scoring the only goal. City have won the last three matches between the two sides at the Etihad Stadium, the last two by a 2-1 score line.
    • 14:45 It's worth noting that Sammy Ameobi starts for Newcastle while Shola is demoted to the bench. Sibling rivalry...
    • 14:40 City are the fifth club in English top-flight history to win at least 10 of the first 11 matches of a season. Of the seven previous occasions this has happened, only Liverpool (1990-91) and Manchester United (1985-86) failed to win the title.
    • 14:35 Newcastle have not won in their last nine PL games against Manchester City, since a 1-0 win at St. James’ Park in September 2005 when Michael Owen scoring the only goal. The club have not won in their last 17 PL visits to the city of Manchester (13 defeats, 4 draws), since the 1-0 win at City in 2000.
    • 14:30 So, David Silva is rested after his exertions for Spain in Costa Rica this week, while England hero (ahem) Gareth Barry is also on the bench. Still, not the end of the world when you can bring in Nigel De Jong.
    • 14:25 MAN CITY: Hart, Richards, Clichy, Lescott, Kompany, De Jong, Milner, Yaya, Nasri, Aguero, Balotelli... Subs: Pantilimon, Kolo, Kolarov, Barry, A. • 14:20 This match pits the Premier League's last two unbeaten teams but the bookies make City 1/3 to inflict Newcastle's first defeat of the season.
    • 14:15 Welcome to LIVE coverage of Manchester City versus Newcastle United from the Etihad Stadium!
