    • 90+5' FULL TIME. Bale inspires Spurs to a good 2-0 win at Carrow Road. Spurs continue to cast their gaze upwards.
    • 90+4' Parker is removed after a typically busy shift and is replaced by Jake Livermore.
    • 90+3' Martin has a header deflected wide late on and Norwich win a corner, but they fail to test Friedel from it.
    • 90+2' Norwich applying late pressure and credit to them for that, but this game is Tottenham's.
    • 90' We will have four added minutes at Carrow Road.
    • 89' Kranjcar has looked lively since coming on and has produced a few decent touches.
    • 87' Tottenham coasting towards a well deserved victory here. Bale has been the outstanding player of course.
    • 85' Van der Vaart is replaced by Niko Kranjcar.
    • 83' Modric enjoys a snap-shot from the centre of the box but Ruddy is equal to it.
    • 81' Stat from Infostrada: "Bale can become the fifth player from Wales to score a PL hat-trick, joining Dean Saunders (12 Feb 1994 for Aston Villa), Mark Hughes (13 Apr 1996 for Chelsea), Gary Speed (16 Nov 1996 for Everton) and Rob Earnshaw (19 Mar 2005 for WBA)."
    • 79' Adebayor finds a bit of space on the right of the box but gets his shot all wrong as he thunders his effort into the stands.
    • 78' Tottenham will go into the New Year in third place and they are very, very good value for it. The level they are performing at on a weekly basis is just fantastic.
    • 76' A double change for Norwich as Simeon Jackson and Anthony Pilkington come on for Crofts and Drury.
    • 74' Stat from Infostrada: "Bale has now scored seven PL goals this season, equal most in the division by a midfielder together with Frank Lampard."
    • 72' A change for Spurs as Assou-Ekotto is replaced by Danny Rose.
    • 71' Bale on the march again but this time he feeds Modric with a square pass, only to see the Croatia international drill in a low effort that Ruddy saves.
    • 69' Whitbread blatantly fouls Walker to pick up a booking.
    • 68' Stat from Infostrada: "Gareth Bale’s last three PL goals have all opened the score. Tottenham have won the last nine PL matches in which the midfielder scored."
    • 67' GOAL! Norwich 0-2 Tottenham! My word, as Ray Wilkins would say. Bale recieves the ball on the halfway line from Modric, storms through the heart of the Norwich defence and dinks the ball over Ruddy for a delightful finish. That was pure pace and power. Thrilling stuff.
    • 66' Adebayor has the ball in the back of the net but is rightly given offside when tapping in.
    • 64' De Laet is injured and comes off to be replaced by Leon Barnett in the Norwich defence.
    • 62' Assou-Ekotto delivers a decent cross from the left but when the ball rolls into the path of Walker his effort lacks direction.
    • 60' A concern for Tottenham: Adebayor has gone down in some pain clutching his leg. However, he appears to be okay after clambering to his feet.
    • 59' As things stand, Tottenham will be four points clear of Chelsea in third, having played a game less than their London rivals. They will also be seven points behind the joint leaders from Manchester, again having played a game less.
    • 57' Stat from Infostrada: "Tottenham have scored at least once in their last 16 PL matches. They have only had one better streak in the PL era, a run of 17 matches in a row with at least one goal between September 2007 and January 2008."
    • 55' GOAL! Norwich 0-1 Tottenham! It is Bale with the goal and how he deserves it. Van der Vaart pings in a pass to Adebayor and the striker displays superb footwork before squaring for Bale, who sneaks his shot under the diving Ruddy.
    • 54' Assou-Ekotto swings in an excellent cross from the left but neither Adebayor nor Gallas can get contact on the ball to test Ruddy.
    • 53' So close! It is Surman who takes the free-kick and he bends a shot round the wall and only narrowly wide of the far post. Friedel just had it covered but that was a fine effort.
    • 52' A clumsy challenge from Gallas as he slips and brings down Surman just on the edge of the box. A free-kick in a dangerous area for Norwich.
    • 51' Walker whips another dangerous cross in from the right but it takes a touch off a Norwich defender and finds its way to Ruddy.
    • 50' Modric spots a chance to drive a shot towards the top corner but his effort from 20 yards is blocked by Whitbread.
    • 49' Holt tries a deft touch to find Morison but Sandro intervenes. Deft touches aren't really Holt's thing, are they?
    • 48' Stat from Infostrada: "Norwich have scored 16 home goals this season, only the top four ranked sides have scored more home goals: Manchester City (28), Manchester United (28), Chelsea (22) and Tottenham Hotspur (17)."
    • 46' KICK OFF!

    • 45+3' HALF TIME. An entertaining contest so far but it remains 0-0 at Carrow Road.
    • 45+3' The last chance of the half falls to Adebayor but a bad first touch means the Spurs striker is on the stretch when firing wide.
    • 45+1' We will have a minimum of two minutes added time.
    • 45' Hoolahan penalised for a foul on Scott Parker but Van der Vaart's delivery has far too much on it. Replays show Morison sneakily tripped Gallas as the ball came in and that could have been a penalty had it been spotted.
    • 44' Hoolahan looks for an intelligent reverse pass but plays it into space and fails to find a Norwich shirt. Not that intelligent then.
    • 43' Van der Vaart flings a corner in from the right and Ruddy collects just as William Gallas throws out a leg to try and turn the ball home. Good goalkeeping.
    • 41' Adebayor threatens to break in behind the Norwich defence, only to be denied by a fine tackle.
    • 40' Stat from Infostrada: "Norwich have won once in their last 10 league matches against Tottenham – the 3-1 win at White Hart Lane on this exact date 18 years ago. On December 27, 1993 Chris Sutton (2) and Efan Ekoku scored for Norwich."
    • 38' What a shot. Van der Vaart collects the ball 30 yards from goal and with Drury coming to close him down unleashes a fierce effort that fizzes just wide of the upright.
    • 37' Morison gets a square pass from Surman in the box and tries to bend a shot towards the far corner. However his effort flies straight and wide.
    • 35' Brilliant, just brilliant from Bale as he allows a pass to run through his legs and then shifts his bodyweight to call Ruddy into action with the keeper making a fine save from his drive.
    • 34' This has been a fine contest so far but Tottenham look to be having the better of it.
    • 32' Now Martin is caught out by a magnificent pass over the top but although Adebayor gets in behind the defence he lacks the control and poise to convert.
    • 31' A great chance for Spurs! Martin is caught in possession just outside his own box by Bale and the Welshman drives at goal before thumping an effort over the bar. He should have done better there, really.
    • 30' Drury has problems with his boot, which appears to have come loose. Footballers eh? Can't even tie their own laces these days.
    • 29' Stat from Infostrada: "Spurs have failed to win in their last 12 top flight matches on December 27, since a 1-0 win over Sheffield United in 1965. Their last match on this date was a 2-0 defeat at Southampton in 2000."
    • 27' Van der Vaart plays the ball square to Bale and his drive takes a touch off Russell Martin before squirming behind for a corner, which is wasted.
    • 25' Stat from Infostrada: "Spurs have won 11 of their first 16 opening matches this season. They have only won 12 or more of their first 17 on three occasions, in 1956/57 (12), 1969/61 (15) and 1962/63 (12)."
    • 24' Hmmm. That was poor. Younes Kaboul wants a look from the free-kick but gets it all wrong and Harry Redknapp is distinctly unimpressed.
    • 23' Ritchie De Laet grounds Bale right on the edge of the box when sticking out a leg. Just seconds previously, Norwich cleared as Adebayor shaped to head in Walker's cross.
    • 21' This is a nice and open game in which both sides look capable of scoring. Let's hope it continues in that vein.
    • 20' But the move ends with Walker thundering a shot miles off target and screaming out loud in anger.
    • 19' Wonderful skills from Bale and then Modric as Spurs play the ball around in style. They really are fantastic to watch this season, aren't they?
    • 19' Morison chests the ball down in the box but can't find the requisite space to get a shot away for Norwich.
    • 18' Drury is back up running, which will please Norwich as he has been impressive so far tonight.
    • 17' Great work from Wes Hoolahan as he comes inside and finds Surman, who in turn lays the ball off to David Fox. His firm effort from 20 yards is saved by Friedel.
    • 15' Kyle Walker comes across quickly to boot the ball clear as Andrew Surman tries to play in the defender. There is a painful clash of knees and Drury requires treatment. Completely accidental.
    • 14' Van der Vaart slides in late as Drury tries to play a pass down the line. It is mistimed but credit to the Norwich defender, he doesn't seek to make anything of the tackle and possibly spares the Dutchman further punishment.
    • 12' Holt now gets involved in a collision with Sandro and this time the striker is indeed penalised.
    • 11' Stat from Infostrada: "Even if Spurs lose tonight, they will finish the year as the highest placed London side in the PL for the first time since 1995 when they were fourth behind Newcastle, Manchester United and Liverpool. They would finish that 1995/96 season in eighth place, behind fourth ranked Arsenal."
    • 10' Modric swings in the free-kick and Bale flicks on a header at the near post, only for Holt to guide the ball out. A corner to Spurs, and now another. However, Norwich clear.
    • 9' Benoit Assou-Ekotto crumples to the ground after a collision from Grant Holt, who is a big old lad and is not afraid to throw his elbows around. That was a bit nasty from the striker.
    • 8' Modric goes long this time but Zak Whitbread heads clear for Norwich.
    • 7' Nice work from Adam Drury as he snuffs out the threat and slides in to concede a corner. From the set-piece, Modric gets away from his marker and wins another corner.
    • 6' Now Bale unleashes from 20 yards after a lovely little touch from Adebayor but Ruddy saves his curling effort.
    • 5' Another move ends at the feet of Rafael van der Vaart and the Dutchman's weak effort causes few problems for John Ruddy.
    • 4' Nice one-touch passing from Spurs and they look content to stroke the ball around at present, as they have done all season.
    • 3' Gareth Bale takes possession of the ball in a central position and waits for Emmanuel Adbayor to overlap before playing in the striker. However, the delay allows Norwich to gather themselves and deal with the situation.
    • 2' The first chance of the game falls to Steve Morison. He chests down a high ball and sends a looping volley at goal that Brad Friedel leaps to grab. That will get the home fans enthused.
    • 1' KICK OFF!

    • 19:25 Harry Redknapp (Spurs): "Norwich have done fantastically. They have done really well and Swansea have as well. But I'm sure they know that there have been lots of clubs come up and play very well first half of the season and they know they've got to continue that second half, for sure. It's going to be tight at the bottom."
    • 19:20 Paul Lambert (Norwich): "I have told the club the players I would like to try and get in. We have to box clever with what we are trying to do. It is up to the club to try and sort something out. It is hard during the January window because nobody wants to sell their better players and price inflation goes really high."
    • 19:15 FACTS: Norwich have won just two of their last nine Premier League games (W2 D4 L3); The Canaries are one of only two teams in the top flight without a clean sheet (Blackburn are the other); The Canaries have dropped the joint-most points from losing positions in the Premier League (12 along with Blackburn
    • 19:10 FACTS: Norwich have failed to score in their last four Premier League games against Spurs; The Canaries have won just one of the last 12 games against Spurs in all competitions (W1 D2 L9); Tottenham have won five and lost none of their last six trips to Carrow Road in all competitions.
    • 19:05 FACTS: Grant Holt has scored four goals in his last four games for Norwich at Carrow Road; Norwich have scored more headed goals than any other Premier League side (11).
    • 19:00 FACTS: Spurs have only kept one clean sheet away from home in the league this season, but only one team (Manchester United) has stopped them from scoring on their travels; Norwich are yet to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League this season.
    • 18:55 TEAMS - Tottenham: Friedel, Walker, Gallas, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto, Bale, Parker, Sandro, Modric, Van der Vaart, Adebayor /// Norwich: Ruddy, De Laet, Martin, Whitbread, Drury, Crofts, Fox, Hoolahan, Surman, Morison, Holt.
    • 18:50 Norwich have no fresh injury concerns for the home clash. Defender Kyle Naughton, on loan from Spurs, will miss the match through suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Wolves in midweek. Former Everton striker James Vaughan is on course for a return in the new year from his knee problem, along with centre-back Elliott Ward (knee). On-loan Manchester United defender Ritchie de Laet (back) could return.
    • 18:45 The big news is that Rafael van der Vaart has made a full and quick recovery from the hamstring injury that saw him come off at half-time of the draw with Chelsea - he starts for Spurs, as does Luka Modric, who turned his ankle in training. Younes Kaboul comes in for Ledley King, who is not risked so soon. That is the only change for Spurs. Aaron Lennon (hamstring), Michael Dawson (Achilles) and Tom Huddlestone (ankle) and Jermaine Jenas (Achilles) are out.
