    • 89' Assou-Ekotto does well to concede a corner as Cahill attempts to slot in Drenthe.
    • 87' Everton are enjoying a good spell of pressure in the Spurs half as the hosts drop deep and soak up the play.
    • 86' Redknapp throws on Pavlyuchenko now at the expense of Adebayor, and he departs to a rousing ovation.
    • 85' Bale and Modric exchange passes in midfield, before the Croat is tripped by Baines and wins a free kick.
    • 84' Fellaini is the next to be booked for a mistimed challenge, and it's a very scrappy finale to this match.
    • 83' Cahill is shown the yellow card for a foul on Pienaar, and there is no argument from the Australian.
    • 82' Penalty? No! Drenthe goes down inside the Spurs box as Kaboul appears to bring him down, but the referee is again unconvinced!
    • 81' Magaye Gueye comes on to replace Bilyaletdinov, and that is Everton's final change.
    • 80' Modric drives a low shot on target, but Howard is equal to it as Spurs are again thwarted.
    • 79' Saha is furious with the referee after being hauled over by Modric 25 yards out, and he is right to feel aggrieved.
    • 78' Lennon departs to a standing ovation, and on comes former Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar.
    • 77' Drenthe gets it horribly wrong as he attempts a cross-field pass, and it runs out of play.
    • 76' Spurs are currently enjoying 53 per cent of the possession in this second half.
    • 75' Friedel is very assured at the back for Spurs, and the defenders do not mind passing the ball back regularly to the American.
    • 74' Bale breaks from deep, but this time his run peters out as Baines is able to clear upfield.
    • 73' Lennon very cynically tugs back Drenthe as Everton look to counter, and he is rightly booked.
    • 72' Howard does very well to fly off his line and punch the ball to safety with a very fine clearance.
    • 71' Kaboul brings the ball forward at pace, before Modric wins a corner for his side on the left byline. The Croat will take this...
    • 70' Bale is causing havoc as he makes another pacey run through the heart of the Everton midfield before being crowded out. /// Stevie B was hoping that Drenthe would not come on because of his ability to strike a ball very cleanly. Surely we couldn't see another thunderbolt?
    • 69' Spurs have more points after 19 games (42) than any team had managed at the same stage of season 2010-11.
    • 68' Royston Drenthe replaces Victor Anichebe, and Moyes acts swiftly to try to change this game.
    • 67' Neville shows his experience in marshalling Bale effectively, and he ensures that the Welshman does not have as much space as before.
    • 65' Everton are allowing the Spurs players far too much time and space on the ball in the final third, and Bale surges forward and drives a fierce shot over the bar!
    • 64' Yes, there was a deflection, but that was a fierce strike from the left back and an emphatic finish!
    • 63' WHAT A GOAL!!!! ASSOU-EKOTTO SCORES A BLINDER! The Everton players back off the left-back, and he simply lets fly from all of 30 yards with the ball taking a deflection off Cahill and flying into the top corner of the net!
    • 61' Fellaini brings the ball forward as play finally resumes, but Spurs contain him effectively.
    • 60' Distin has to depart, sadly, and Shane Duffy comes on to take his place.
    • 59' Distin goes down injured, and there is a long delay as he receives treatment on the field. He looks to be in trouble.
    • 57' Friedel commands his penalty area superbly and claims a high ball with ease as the cross comes in from Donovan.
    • 56' Tottenham have only once had a better league record after 19 games in the top flight (W13 D3 L3), that was 1960-61 (W17 D1 L1), the last time they won the league title.
    • 55' Saha wins a corner for his side with a bright run and shot from 25 yards out, with Kaboul getting a timely deflection.
    • 53' Distin concedes a corner as Bale and Adebayor put him under pressure, and Everton cannot alleviate the pressure.
    • 52' Assou-Ekotto whips over a very fine cross to the back post, but Walker can only head out of play under pressure from Baines.
    • 50' It's another brilliant run from Bale, who hares down the left and cuts inside before firing a fierce shot towards the near post with Howard having to make a fine save!
    • 49' It's all Spurs after the break, and the hosts look inspired to build on their solitary goal.
    • 48' Harry Redknapp’s side have earned 22 points from the last 24 available at White Hart Lane and kept four clean sheets in their last five on home soil.
    • 47' Assou-Ekotto takes the ball down with a sublime touch out on the left, but his cross narrowly evades Lennon at the back post.
    • 46' The second half is underway, and neither manager deems it necessary to make any changes.
    • 45+2' The half-time whistle goes at White Hart Lane, and Tottenham lead Everton 1-0 courtesy of Aaron Lennon's 35th minute strike. The hosts could easily have been awarded a penalty, but the players depart to a warm ovation. What did you make of that first 45 minutes? What do you think the end scoreline will be? Get in touch with me on Twitter
    • 45+1' Assou-Ekotto finds Bale, but this time the Welshman is unable to get past his man as Fellaini stands firm.
    • 45' There will be two added minutes at the end of this first half as Spurs stroke the ball around at the back.
    • 44' Spurs keep the ball deep inside their own half, and Everton are content to go in at the break one-goal down, it seems.
    • 43' Howard lumps a long ball upfield towards Anichebe, but the forward is crowded out before he can find Saha.
    • 42' Lennon fouls Bilyaletdinov outwide and Everton have a chance to regroup after being stretched once more.
    • 41' Kaboul rather rashly comes across and fouls Donovan outwide on the right, and that was needless.
    • 40' Modric drops very deep and links the play as Spurs keep possession in their own half.
    • 39' Fellaini and Donovan combine as Everton look to build patiently from midfield, but Spurs look comfortable at the back.
    • 38' It's all Spurs at the moment, as Walker makes a lung-busting run down the right and whips over a promising but ultimately misplaced cross for Adebayor.
    • 37' STAT: Tottenham have conceded 999 goals in Premier League history.
    • 36' Spurs are good value for their lead, and that takes the focus off referee Atkinson, who really should have given the second penalty appeal.
    • 35' GOAL!!!!! LENNON SCORES FOR SPURS!! A long ball from Assou-Ekotto picks out Lennon, who does superbly to wriggle past Baines before his shot is cruelly deflected past Howard by a lunging Distin!
    • 33' What an effort from van der Vaart! The Dutchman whips a delightful effort which grazes the top of the netting of Howard's goal - a very fine strike.
    • 32' Assou-Ekotto makes another enterprising run down the left, but he cannot pick out Adebayor with his cross into the box.
    • 31' Saha drills a fierce but hugely ambitious shot wide from range, and that is not going to trouble Friedel.
    • 30' Another penalty appeal for Spurs! Modric is bundled over rather clumsily by Cahill from behind, and that was much more of a penalty than the first! Again, referee Atkinson says no. It looks as though Spurs are unlucky!
    • 29' Adebayor is linking the play superbly for the hosts, and he continues to drop off the frontline to provide an outlet.
    • 28' Adebayor goes down very easily as he comes into contact with Distin in the Everton box, but Spurs' vociferous appeals for a penalty are waved away disdainfully!
    • 27' Assou-Ekotto and Livermore keep the ball for Spurs, and this is much better from the hosts.
    • 26' Assou-Ekotto is put under immense pressure by Donovan, and he has to concede a throw in deep inside the Spurs half.
    • 25' What a chance for Spurs! Bale races down the right, outstripping Baines with ease, but Adebayor cannot keep the ball in play as he takes a touch to round the onrushing Howard after receiving the pass!
    • 23' Kyle Walker takes a very nasty tumble as he challenges for a header with Heitinga, but he looks to be just about okay!
    • 22' Fellaini combines with Cahill in midfield as Everton press forward with purpose, but the move peters out.
    • 21' Distin is the epitome of calmness as he takes a high ball down in his stride, and nonchalantly brings the ball forward from the back.
    • 20' Rafael van der Vaart scored an equalising goal in both matches against Everton last season.
    • 19' It's all a bit frantic for Redknapp's liking, and he implores his players to keep the ball.
    • 18' Everton clear the ball away calmly from the corner as Distin rises high to meet it, and the visitors can alleviate the pressure.
    • 17' Bilyaletdinov gives the ball away very sloppily to Adebayor, and he finds Bale who charges down the left and wins his side a corner.
    • 16' Six of the eight goals scored in the last three meetings between Everton and Spurs have been netted in the opening 30 minutes.
    • 15' The atmosphere is suddenly somewhat subdued with neither side really settling and creating any meaningful chances.
    • 14' Fellaini dictates the play from midfield for Everton, and he does well to find Bilyaletdinov outwide, who crosses too deep for anyone.
    • 13' Anichebe does well to win a corner for his side out on the left, and Kaboul does well to concede it in the end.
    • 12' Adebayor is causing havoc in the Everton half, and again he forces his way into the box before being eventually crowded out.
    • 11' Adebayor shows good feet to jink outside Distin, but he proceeds to blaze his shot over the bar!
    • 10' Anichebe gets to his feet eventually and will attempt to continue. In fairness, he seems to be perfectly okay now.
    • 9' Oh dear! Anichebe goes down in a crumpled heap after a clash with Livermore on halfway, and he gets on-field treatment.
    • 8' The free kick is wasted, before Kaboul brings the ball forward from the back for Spurs but loses it to Neville. It's pretty scrappy at the moment.
    • 7' Fellaini barges into the back of Bale rather cynically, and Spurs will have a free kick 30 yards out which van der Vaart and Modric stand over.
    • 6' Bilyaletdinov and Cahill keep the ball for Everton in midfield, and the visitors settle with a good period of possession.
    • 5' Dawson finds Assou-Ekotto down the left with a very fine pass, but the left-back cannot quite get his cross into the Everton box.
    • 4' Emmanuel Adebayor tries a through ball, but Gareth Bale is caught offside. The Everton back four are very nearly caught out.
    • 3' Dawson chests the ball down very coolly as Fellaini looks to catch him out with a through ball intended for Anichebe.
    • 2' Saha almost makes a very early impact! Donovan forces his way through the Spurs half with an incisive run, before finding Saha who drags his shot narrowly wide of the far post!
    • 1' The first half is underway at White Hart Lane, and immediately a stint of head tennis ensues as neither side gets the ball down.
    • 19:40 Redknapp spoke about how vital Michael Dawson is to his side, and the talismanic defender leads out his side with Phil Neville his opposite number. It's a terrific atmosphere at White Hart Lane, and we're all set for kick off.
    • 19:35 Right, we're just 10 minutes from kick off now, and it's time for you all to post your pre-match predictions. What do you think the scoreline will be this evening? Will Spurs go joint-second, or will Everton climb two places? Get in touch and let me know...
    • 19:30 Moyes: "Injuries have come in the last couple of games but we have to consider where the Bolton game was and it was very poor performance-wise. I think we had a good sequence of results before Bolton but it only took one night to quickly erode the confidence. That can happen because in truth we have been a little bit fragile for most of the season and we are very aware of that."
    • 19:25 THE TEAMS ARE IN! Tottenham: Friedel, Walker, Kaboul, Dawson, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Livermore, Modric, Bale, Van der Vaart, Adebayor. Subs: Cudicini, Pavlyuchenko, Defoe, Bassong, Kranjcar, Rose, Pienaar /// Everton: Howard, Neville, Heitinga, Distin, Baines, Donovan, Bilyaletdinov, Cahill, Fellaini, Anichebe, Saha. Subs: Mucha, Drenthe, Stracqualursi, McFadden, Gueye, Vellios, Duffy
    • 19:20 Everton manager David Moyes admits it is "sad" his club have not been able to keep pace with the progress made by Tottenham. "Football will always come back around sometime and some day hopefully they will be looking at the back of us. At the moment it unfortunately looks as if you need a bit of finance to get it back, but it would be nice to think we could do it the way we have done it. That is how we do it at Everton, we don't do it any other way." Moyes quotes in full
    • 19:15 Harry Redknapp was always confident Tottenham could push on this season - even after being drubbed by Manchester United and Manchester City in their first two games. Redknapp said: "The belief and the arrival of a couple of players in through the door made a difference to everybody. We were one or two players short and we had the [transfer rumour] situation with Luka [Modric]. There was a feeling around the club that it was a difficult period, that first couple of weeks." • 19:10 Harry Redknapp: "We have improved this year, we are stronger. It is just that belief. We have to believe we can do and I think have that belief that we can keep challenging. I am not going to say 'we are going to win the league' as it is going to be very difficult - just look at United's squad and City's squad, they have fantastic players and can make changes everywhere. Their forward players are incredible. They know we are going well."
    • 19:05 David Moyes: "I think it was only three or four years ago us and Tottenham were competing neck-and-neck for European places. It is frustrating because all managers will tell you when you are close and competing with teams you never like to see them go away from you, but we are looking at them going away from us at this present time. They have continued to kick on and over the years they have got in some really good players. Tottenham, arguably, might be the biggest spenders in the league."
    • 19:00 TEAM NEWS: Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker (knee) remains a doubt. Centre-half Ledley King (hamstring) is also not match fit. Defender William Gallas and midfielder Sandro remain out with calf strains.
    • 18:55 Midfielder Seamus Coleman is Everton's latest injury doubt. The Irishman limped out of the FA Cup victory over Tamworth to join the growing ranks of injured players. Phil Jagielka (knee), Leon Osman (foot), Jack Rodwell (hamstring), Tony Hibbert (groin), Tim Cahill (groin) and Ross Barkley (knee) were absent on Saturday and all six are likely to be missing again.
    • 18:50 This match, originally scheduled for Saturday August 13, has been postponed due to riots in London. It now gives Spurs the chance to open up an eight-point gap from fourth-placed Chelsea, while Everton could go ninth with a win. Premier League table
