    • - Don't forget you can watch highlights of this and Reading v Manchester City from 00:01 tonight (UK only).
    • 90+3' There's the final whistle, and WIGAN ATHLETIC ARE RELEGATED. Arsenal heading for the Champions League again.
    • 90+2' Arsenal change: Thomas Vermalen replaces Mikel Arteta.
    • 90+1' Two minutes of stoppage time to be played.
    • 90' Alcaraz makes a decent defensive header to cut out a diagonal ball to the Arsenal right. They just want this to be over.
    • 88' Deft cross from the right by Oxlade-Chamberlain but the intensity has gone out of Arsenal's play in the Wigan box.
    • 86' There's a right old scramble in the Wigan box as Arsenal strive for a fifth, but Wigan scuff it to safety.
    • 85' Wigan change: Angelo Henriquez is on for Shaun Maloney.
    • 83' The corner is cleared but Arsenal are soon back in possession and win another on the right side.
    • 82' Here come Arsenal again as Gibbs attacks down the left... he wins a corner.
    • 80' Di Santo lashes a 25-yard shot wide.
    • 79' We looked set for a granstand finish, but instead this has turned into a slightly sad rout. The damage was done well before tonight, but Wigan have defended appallingly.
    • 78' Jack Wilshere comes on for the final stages, as does Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Lukas Podolski makes way - he's not happy as he wanted his hat-trick! Rosicky the other man to go off.
    • 77' Oh, here come Arsenal again with Walcott running wild.. he exchanges passes with Ramsey but the return ball is a horror.
    • 76' The belief has just drained out of Wigan, and well it might have done. Just the four goals required in 15 minutes.
    • 75' Corner in from the Wigan left... glancing header over from Scharner.
    • 74' Arsenal can relax now. They will go into the final game with a two-point margin and a near-unassailable goal difference advantage over Tottenham. If they get anything from their trip to Newcastle on Sunday they are in the Champions League.
    • 72' Dear oh dear. Wigan were obviously obliged to attack, but their defending has been catastrophically bad and they will be relegated.
    • 71' GOAL! Another nail in the coffin as Aaron Ramsey finishes - he races through on a two-on-two and cuts in from the left - he beats Joel with his eyes, shooting into the far corner while 'looking' for the pass.
    • 70' Wigan have defended so badly tonight. They have missed the injured Maynor Figueroa - Scharner really shown up at the back.
    • 69' GOAL! Bye-bye Wigan. Lukas Podolski makes it 3-1 Arsenal with a neat finish, and it's surely all over. More woeful defending as Scharner plays Podolski miles onside, the German runs on to Cazorla's headed through ball and lifts the ball past Joel.
    • 68' Walcott firing on all cylinders as he dispossesses Espinoza then wins a free-kick off the Honduran.
    • 67' Kone runs at Arteta down the left, cuts inside and shapes to shoot but he's dispossessed and Walcott brings the ball away for Arsenal.
    • 66' Arsenal win a corner on the left... Cazorla to take... and Wigan head it clear.
    • 65' Great stat from Infostrada: 'If the Premier League ONLY used the second half table, Arsenal would be top with 70 points, five points clear of Man City.' Interesting, but really - why would they do that?
    • 64' Well, that's logical enough - Roberto Martinez calls Ben Watson off the bench. He replaces Jordi Gomez. And Wigan need two goals.
    • 63' GOAL!! Arsenal back in front as Walcott finishes from close range from Cazorla's low cross! Great ball in, but Alcaraz should have cut that out!
    • 61' Gibbs wins a throw well forward down the Arsenal left, but possession is surrendered and here come Wigan with Di Santo... but he is dispossessed then commits a foul.
    • 60' Walcott hares after a through ball down the right channel and gets in front of his marker, but he shoots straight at Joel from a tight angle!
    • 59' Wigan free-kick on the right, Maloney to deliver... Boyce meets it, but can only guide his header wide of the left-hand post.
    • 58' Franco Di Santo replaces the stricken McManaman for Wigan.
    • 57' The home fans are growing frustrated with this Arsenal display.
    • 56' Wigan win their first corner of the game, which is cleared. Meanwhile, Callum McManaman receives treatment for an injury and Wigan are down to 10.
    • 55' McManaman loses it at the edge of the box and here come Arsenal again... Podolski penalised for a foul on Boyce.
    • 54' And with both teams desperate for a win, we could se an absolutely mental finish if these teans are still level.
    • 52' This is getting really exciting - oddly a defeat may suit Arsenal better than a draw as that would keep Wigan alive, and oblige Sunderland to get a result against Spurs on Sunday. Make no mistake, they're going for it here...
    • 51' Great save Joel to keep Wigan on terms! Walcott burst down the right and crosses to an unmarked Podolski who fires at the Wigan keeper with the goal at his mercy!
    • 50' Another disallowed goal! Wigan break down the left as Sagna gets caught out of position - the ball ends up ricocheting to McCarthy who puts the ball in the net from an offside position.
    • 49' Maloney gets a bit excited as he leaves Ramsey for dead before blazing a wayward shot high into the crowd.
    • 48' What a save by Szczesny to deny Kone after the Ivorian exchanges passes with Espinoza and McManaman! Fantastic stop.
    • 47' Arsenal quickly on the front foot as Rosicky finds Walcott inside the box... but the winger has strayed offside.
    • 46' Second half under way! No personnel changes from either side, and Wigan kick off.
    • 45+3' That's half-time, and noisy discontent greets the half-time whistle! Wigan are level thanks to a free-kick that should never have been. But what a strike. Arsenal completely dominated the first half-hour but it's back on terms. Back in a few minutes.
    • 45+2' Into the second of two minutes of added time, and this game has just got interesting.
    • 45+1' Brilliant free-kick, a Ronaldo-esque strike over the wall and into the right corner past Szczesny's despairing dive. But it really shouldn't have been a free-kick!
    • 45' GOAL! Shaun Maloney scores a brilliant free-kick, just like the one against QPR! Great strike!
    • 44' Now that is soft! Maloney rather backs in to Arteta who chases him down, and the ref awards a Wigan free-kick.
    • 43' Cazorla feels he has been fouled but Mike Dean waves play on and Wigan break... offside against Kone. For all Arsenal's protests, it didn't look like much of a foul by McCarthy...
    • 41' Espinoza crosses from the left, but there's no pressure on Szczesny as he rises to catch it at the edge of his six-yard box.
    • 40' Walcott puts the ball in the net, but there's a flag up and the England man is correctly adjudged offside.
    • 39' More terrible defending from Wigan as the ball drops over the man at the near post who was too busy fighting Mertesacker and Koscielny puts it just wide!
    • 39' Arsenal break and win a corner at the other end as McArthur puts the ball behind.
    • 38' McCarthy brings the ball inside along the edge of the box and shoots into an Arsenal body.
    • 37' Ben Watson watches on from the Wigan bench. More heroics from him tonight? We shall see. (But no.)
    • 36' Wigan have had 61% possession over the last 10 minutes.
    • 35' McManaman crosses from the right, but it is cut out at the near post. Gibbs caught out a bit.
    • 33' Rosicky slides in on McAthur and that's a free-kick... taken quickly towards Kone who lashes a shot high over the bar.
    • 32' Espinoza comes inside from the left but once again it's a slack pass. And that's not normally a failing of Wigan's.
    • 31' Wigan have not yet had a shot - the closest was that Szczesny excursion, but Koscielny made a decent clearance on that occasion.
    • 29' Better from McArthur, who chases back and harries Ramsey to within an inch of his life... oh, ref Mike Dean says the Arsenal man fouled his opponent. Bit harsh.
    • 28' Arsenal build patiently as Wigan get men back.. Ramsey is having a good game but rather blots his copybook with a slow pearoller of a shot from 30 yards.
    • 27' Wigan free-kick, a chance for Maloney to shoot... but it's Gomez who takes it left-footed and drives the ball into the bottom of the wall.
    • 26' Iffy goalkeeping from Szczesny, who comes for an aerial ball in the box and misses, but the ball drops kindly for Arsenal and the errant Pole can return to his goal.
    • 25' Kieran Gibbs > Gael Clichy. McManaman sprints at Gibbs, who stays with him and rather disdainfully wins the ball and leaves his adversary in a heap.
    • 24' McManaman buys a throw off Gibbs well forward down the Wigan right... in towards Kone at the edge of the box but he is hassled off the ball.
    • 23' Espinoza has acres of space to deliver from the left, but he dawdles interminably and Walcott nicks the ball off him to tremendous applause.
    • 22' Kone chases back into his own half but rather clumsily brings Arteta down. All Arsenal so far.
    • 20' Great interception from Ramsey who spreads the ball right and continues his run into the box. The cross is met by a defender.
    • 19' Podolski meets a right-sided cross with a header that loops high over the bar.
    • 18' Wigan are all at sea here at Walcott drives a shot against the legs of a defender... they're clinging on here.
    • 17' Arsenal win a throw-in well forward on their left... Sagna drives in a shot but nearly drags it into the path of Gibbs who slides for the ball but cannot make contact!
    • 16' Poor pass from McArthur who had time and space but couldn't find McManaman on the right...
    • 15' Alcaraz brings the ball out from the back and tries to find Espinoza wide out on the left... he overcooks the pass and sends it out for a throw.
    • 14' The corner is poor, an outswinger to the edge of the box and this time Wigan head the ball clear.
    • 13' Espinoza puts it behind and Arsenal have another corner... look out.
    • 12' Well, if you couldn't fathom why Wigan were 18th in the table, there's a clue. Atrocious defending and now they have a mountain to climb.
    • 11' GOAL! Lukas Podolski heads Arsenal closer to the Champions League and Wigan towards relegation. Awful marking from a left-sided corner and the German is left unguarded to head home from a couple of yards.
    • 10' Pacy cross in from the right by Walcott - the red shirts are late into the box and McArthur whisks it behind for a corner.
    • 9' Impressive closing down high up the pitch from Tomas Rosicky... he's enjoyed a great spell of late.
    • 7' Walcott runs at the Wigan defence and two men back off him as he crosses onto the head of Cazorla, but the Spaniard directs his header wide with Joel Robles a spectator!
    • 6' Decent spell for the visitors here as they pass it around in the Arsenal half. Should be an open game.
    • 5' Remember, Wigan have to win to have any realistic chance of staying up...
    • 4' First touch for Callum McManaman, who was so effective against City at Wembley.
    • 3' Walcott chases a ball down the right and pulls back towards Cazorla... it's cut out in the Wigan box.
    • 2' Fast-paced start from Arsenal, trying to catch out Wigan who might be a bit rusty after Saturday's exploits. Roberto Martinez banned alcohol after their FA Cup win, but still...
    • 1' Still a large number of empty seats at the front - they will presumably be filled in due course as fans brave the rain.
    • 1' And it's game time! Arsenal kick off, playing from right to left in their famous red and white.
    • 19:44 Lukas Podolski starts up front for Arsenal in the absence of the suspended Olivier Giroud - Jack Wilshere is on the bench.
    • 19:42 No guard of honour but a message on the scoreboard: "Congratulations Wigan Athletic, 2013 FA Cup winners" - so that's nice.
    • 19:41 Out come the sides on a soggy night in North London. Wigan wearing their 'lucky' black away kit.
    • 19:40 Why wouldn't Arsenal do a guard of honour for the FA Cup winners, as they did for the Prem winners? Just a thought...
    • 19:35 Wigan have taken five points from their last six games, only three teams have fewer in this period. In the six games before that, Wigan took 10 points.
    • 19:30 Last season Arsenal lost at home to Wigan in their 34th game, a result which helped the Latics avoid relegation. That victory last season is Wigan’s only Premier League away win against Arsenal.
    • 19:25 No FA Cup winning team has ever been relegated in the same season - but Wgan are 1/50 with the bookies to go down.
    • 19:20 It's also a massive game for Arsenal, who need to win to stay ahead of Tottenham in the race for fourth. Arsene Wenger: "Both teams will go for it, it's a huge game for both of us. We are on a remarkable run and have been hugely consistent and our destiny is in our hands. Two months ago our destiny was not in our own hands; today it is. So let's finish the job."
    • 19:15 Roberto Martinez on returning to reality after Wigan's FA Cup win: "It was a moment that changed the perception of our club for millions of people outside the UK and that is really positive, but it doesn't need to affect the next two matches."
    • 19:10 It is just 72 hours since Wigan lifted the FA Cup in the greatest moment in their history. But defeat tonight will send them down, and a draw will give them only a theoretical chance of staying up - they would need to overturn an 11-goal deficit in goal difference behind Sunderland on the final day.
    • 19:05 No surprise to see Wigan unchanged from the side that beat Manchester City at Wembley on Saturday. It is 10 days since Arsenal last played, winning 1-0 at QPR. They make just one change, with Kieran Gibbs replacing Nacho Monreal at left-back.
    • 19:00 ARSENAL: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Rosicky, Arteta, Ramsey, Cazorla, Walcott, Podolski... Subs: Fabianski, Vermaelen, Jenkinson, Monreal, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gervinho. // WIGAN: Robles, Kone, Alcaraz, McCarthy, Maloney, Gomez, McManaman, McArthur, Boyce, Espinoza, Scharner... Al Habsi, Caldwell, Watson, Di Santo, Henriquez, Fyvie, Golobart.
