    • 90+5 That's it! Newcastle have done it! A 2-1 win, they move four points clear of the drop zone, which Villa slide into on goal difference.
    • 90+5 Lofted in by Westwood, and Krul flaps to miss the ball but it bounces harmlessly wide!
    • 90+4 N'Zogbia plays in a high ball for Benteke, who takes it on the chest but is unable to shoot. Cisse chases the clearance and fouls Bannan to waste some time.
    • 90+3 Cabaye runs it into the corner flag but then gives it away with a lazy cross. Villa get it forward through Lowton but Krul beats Benteke to it.
    • 90+2 Vlaar with a drive, blocked and hurled back into the box as Krul punches with Benteke flying in! Five minutes added on.
    • 90+1 Terrible defensive header from Santon to Bannan but Jonas nicks it away. Desperate defending now from Toon.
    • 90' Krul races to punch clear to touch after a Clark ball caused problems.
    • 89' N'Zogbia's cross is too close to Krul, low and straight. Newcastle try to play some keep-ball now until a poor centre from Jonas goes straight to Guzan.
    • 88' Bannan's ball into the box ricochets about until Weimann crosses into Krul's arms.
    • 87' Ameobi fouls Vlaar and he is booked. A naughty one, sliding in on to his ankle.
    • 86' That was an odd one - no-one seemed to want to head that! Backs against the wall from Toon now.
    • 85' Guzan lumps a free-kick all the way into the Toon box, they let it bounce and Taylor slips for Benteke to fly in but it bounces over his head and wide!
    • 84' Possession has almost been 50-50 - one assumes unevenly distributed between the halves.
    • 83' Newcastle are trying to disrupt the rhythm of the match, a far cry from their super first half. Villa deserve a point...
    • 82' Given away by Toon and Villa come again! Agbonlahor's cross is blocked by Coloccini, second ball in is just over Benteke's head!
    • 81' Corner to Villa - and somehow they don't score as Jonas blocks Baker's header on the line before Santon's boot pokes away the loose ball!
    • 80' NEWCASTLE SUB: Good debut for Sissoko, who is replaced by Yanga-Mbiwa.
    • 79' Weimann gets around Coloccini but Santon is quick and able to shepherd it out fo a goal kick. Toon to make a final change.
    • 78' Cissse twice misses opportunities to play Ameobi through. Benteke is then penalised for using his arms to win a header off Sissoko. Agbonlahor booked for dissent.
    • 77' Lowton with a naughty, nasty foot on the ankle of Santon. Should have been a red. Just yellow.
    • 76' Santon surges forward, playing it inside to Anita, who has a shot but it hits Clark and trickles through to Guzan.
    • 75' NEWCASTLE SUB: Gouffran cheers the away fans as he makes way for Vurnon Anita.
    • 74' WHAT A MISS! Ah but the flag was up - it was a great cross from Lowton, but Benteke was offside as he missed the sitter.
    • 73' Jeers aimed at Jonas as he lets the ball roll through his legs, before forgetting to latch back on to it.
    • 72' Santon with a vital block to concede a corner. Sent near post but cleared by Toon, with Westwood taking one in the gut. Ow.
    • 71' Gouffran has dropped deeper as he tries to keep possession for Toon. It all goes well until Coloccini lumps an aimless long ball upfield. Sissoko is sitting as a DM now.
    • 70' Poor free-kick by N'Zogbia fails to clear the first man, then Westwood blasts one over.
    • 69' N'Zogbia will take this but not before Shola Ameobi comes on for James Perch. Interesting - Pards wants to hold the ball higher up the pitch.
    • 68' Villa have a throw on the right wing after an error from Coloccini. Lowton to take. Now Weimann is fouled by Jonas on the Villa right wing...
    • 67' Baker gets past a Cisse sitting oddly at left-back. And now Baker fouls Debuchy, who rolls around in agony... Just a booking.
    • 66' Cabaye fols N'Zogbia, who takes a quick free-kick that just misses Benteke! Cleared frantically by Toon, who are looking panicky.
    • 65' Weimann goes down after a challenge in the middle of the park... Perch it was.
    • 64' Nice cross from Cabaye, it comes off Gouffran as Vlaar flies in, the ball drops to Sissoko on the left but he mis-hits it into Guzan's arms.
    • 63' Agbonlahor catches Debuchy late but the Frenchman rides it and runs on - however the advantage is lost and Dean pulls play back. Toon want more of this to break up Villa's momentum.
    • 62' N'Zogbia commits a foul on Perch. It was Benteke who was booked.
    • 62' Dean shows a card, not sure who to but Sissoko was left on the floor... Possibly Benteke.
    • 61' Weimann seems to be hurt after that effort, caught by Perch flying in.
    • 60' Agbonlahor with a flick-on to Benteke, he switches it to Weimann who is onside! He's clean through and rasps the finish bottom left but Krul keeps it out with a flying save! Coloccini clears!
    • 59' Long ball by Debuchy but too high for Cisse and back with Guzan. The pendulum has swung Villa's way - but can they make it count?
    • 58' Bannan catches Cabaye but Dean waves play on. Hmmm.
    • 57' Agbonlahor releases N'Zogbia down the left and he lashes a shot into the side netting!
    • 56' Bannan hits one high, wide and handsome after more good play from Agbonlahor.
    • 55' Lowton with a through-ball to Benteke and he's clean through but Krul flies out of his box with a superb slide tackle! Villa Park erupts!
    • 54' The Cabaye free-kick is claimed by Guzan and now Villa break - Agbonlahor leaves Debuchy for dead but his low cross is cleared.
    • 53' Villa are trying to wind Jonas up now - Lowton gives him a shove off the ball. Jonas keeps his cool and wins a free-kick seconds later.
    • 52' Jonas is still angry with Weimann and the ref calls them both over. Just a chat but Jonas is slightly losing his head and is booked.
    • 51' Jonas is furious with Weimann as it was he who raked a boot down his leg, the ref missing it.
    • 50' Phew. What a start to the second half. Can Newcastle recover from this shock? Agbonlahor on the move now but Taylor does well. Jonas is down hurt now. Play on says Mike Dean.
    • 49' Benteke steps up... AND HE ROLLS IT BOTTOM LEFT FOR 1-2! Game on!
    • 48' PENALTY VILLA! Debuchy with a slight shove on Agbonlahor, who goes down, just inside the box and it's a penalty to the hosts!

    • 46' Weimann immediately forces a save from Krul as Villa come right at Toon from the off!
    • 46' Second half is underway!
    • 46' VILLA SUB: Weimann and Agbonlahor are on for the hosts. Bent and Bennett off. Classic Lambert.

    • 45+2 Half-time and Newcastle lead Villa 2-0, and deservedly so. Cisse and Cabaye.
    • 45+1 Villa free-kick on the left, Bannan swings it in but Krul - who has done nothing tonight - claims imperiously.
    • 45' Debuchy is fine. Tough little cookie. Two minutes added on.
    • 44' A promising Villa move breaks down after a foul on Debuchy by N'Zogbia, who has a rant and needs to watch his mouth!
    • 43' Sissoko hits the deck. Play continues, but he's still down. Finally he gets up.
    • 42' N'Zogbia is booked for a late challenge on Santon.
    • 41' Westwood crosses in for Benteke, who takes it on the chest but rifles the volley high and wide from a tight angle. Better from Villa.
    • 40' Debuchy is absolutely caked in mud - really seems to be enjoying the physical side of the English game. Top signing.
    • 39' A bit scrappy now but Toon won't mind so long they keep this into the break.
    • 38' Gouffran again on the left, but his cut-back is cleared by Clark. All Toon at the moment.
    • 37' Cabaye's corner is palmed away by Guzan, very good ball in, and Cabaye has a second bite but sends his cross into the keeper's arms.
    • 36' Gouffran's cross is headed clear by Clark, Debuchy races in with a long shot, deflected wide for a corner.
    • 35' Sissoko also fancies this free-kick, but it's got Cabaye's name on it. Yes, Sissoko moves away. Cabaye hits the wall but Gouffran keeps it alive on the left...
    • 34' Gouffran is tripped on the edge of the D, a Newcastle free-kick in Cabaye-land...
    • 33' Cabaye's return - and deployment as a deep-lying playmaker - has rejuvenated Toon. Sissoko is playing a more advanced role, almost as a defensive AM, shutting down the Villa defence but also playing cute passes through. Very impressive.
    • 32' Some Villa fans have had enough already! A handful of lads heading for the exits!!
    • 31' GOAL NEWCASTLE! OOH LA LA, IT'S A YOHAN CABAYE SCREAMER! Fantastic touch and half-volley after Vlaar's defensive header dropped nicely for him. What a goal!!
    • 30' Bent is holding the ball up and linking nicely on the left - he stands it up for Bennett but Coloccini just about gets the cross clear before Benteke can act.
    • 29' Sissoko and Debuchy exchange backheels, nice play from them, but the cross is cleared. Back down the other end Debuchy tackles N'Zogbia. Debuchy already looking solid.
    • 28' The Cabaye corner is deep, too deep, and while Gouffran keeps it in Baker puts it out. Throw Toon on the left.
    • 27' Debuchy on the right now and he earns a corner off Bennett.
    • 26' Vilal come forward now as N'Zogbia threads a nice pass in for Bent but it runs away from the England striker and back to Krul.
    • 25' Great interplay by Sissoko and Jonas on the right. The away fans enjoyed the neat passing and skill from both.
    • 24' Debuchy likes a tackle and he slides in on Bennett hard - the player is fine but the ref doesn't like it.
    • 23' Gouffran on the move now and he almost releases Cisse, but Baker intercepts.
    • 22' N'ZOGBIA HITS THE WOODWORK! Fantastic left-foot half volley from range after a Benteke flick on. What an effort, Krul nowhere but it rebounds off the left-hand post.
    • 21' Cisse is offside. Easy to see why Toon are raiding the French league - Sissoko only cost a few million quid!
    • 20' Villa try to bite back immediately but they can't get the ball into the final third with Toon snapping at their heels, Gouffran eventually giving away a free-kick.
    • 19' GOAL NEWCASTLE! Cisse with a fantastic low finish after taking a lovely through ball from Sissoko! The new man with an immediate impact.
    • 18' Cabaye to swing the corner in once more - much better this time into the six-yard box but it's flicked away from Sissoko. Jonas with the second ball aimed at Gouffran, but he is offside.
    • 17' Cabaye plays it over the top for Cisse but Clark goes with him and hooks it out for a corner.
    • 16' Sissoko with a ball inside aimed for Cisse but Clark reads it to clear. Down the other end Debuchy with a cool defensive header back to Guzan.
    • 15' Newcastle counter attack with Santon on the left, he cuts inside AND UNLEASHES A SCREAMER THAT GUZAN TIPS AWAY! Bending, dipping and with pace, what an effort from the full-back!
    • 15' N'Zobgia on the run now, cute pass wide left to Benteke, whose cut-back is going to land for Bent but a vital sliding interception by Coloccini! Villa want a penalty but it hit his chest!
    • 14' Now it's Newcastle's turn to defend as Perch puts one to touch. Better fromm Villa.
    • 13' Villa with what has hitherto been a rare spell of possession, now Benteke takes on Taylor, who slides in to clear.
    • 12' N'Zogbia ends another Newcastle attack with a good challenge on Jonas.
    • 11' Jonas finds space on the left but Bannan gets a head on his cross and it's half cleared.
    • 10' Villa are already on the back foot and looking nervous as Newcastle - whose form has been just as poor, but who have bought well this window - come at them in waves.
    • 9' Cabaye to take this, lofting it to the edge of the box, poor and Westwood clears. The break could be on but Benteke fouls Santon.
    • 8' Half-chance for Jonas as the ball springs to him in the box! Clark with a vital block and a dreaded corner for Villa to defend!
    • 7' Villa still can't get out of their half as Toon continue to pile on the pressure. I've not seen Newcastle play a possession game for some time!
    • 6' Treatment for N'Zogbia after that swing by Debuchy, French on French. Speaking of which, Sissoko goes on a run and smashes a shot well over.
    • 5' Bent with a nice flick to NZogbia, who is brought down by Debuchy but play on! Bent has it you see, but he soon loses the ball and play stops.
    • 4' Gouffran shows too much of it to Lowton, who wins the ball easily.
    • 3' Toon come again as Sissoko releases Gouffran wide left, he taks on Lowton before getting support from Santon. Toon dominating early possession.
    • 2' Gouffran flicks it on for Cisse but Vlaar manages to thrash it clear for a throw.
    • 1' Early throw to Toon on the right wing. Fans take an age to return the ball - kick him!
    • 1' The first half is underway!
    • 19:43 I have a sneaky feeling this new-look Toon will nick this, all very exciting which is more than can be said for Villa, who seem to be in a terminal slump.
    • 19:40 Toon fans are wearing berets and comedy taches in tribute to their French signing policy. Ooh la la.

    • 19:30 BETTING ODDS: Aston Villa 9/5, draw 2/1, Newcastle United 17/10 - really oddly, William Hill's odds have swapped teams in the past few days, probably a result of Toon making some big signings, while Villa continue to embarass and flounder.
    • 19:25 STATS: Newcastle have won just three of their 18 Premier League matches since Alan Pardew signed a new 8-year contract (W3 D4 L11; This is also Newcastle’s worst ever points tally after 23 games of a Premier League season (21).
    • 19:25 STATS: Aston Villa have enjoyed just one win in their last five Premier League meetings with Newcastle (D2 L2), netting a total of four goals in this period while shipping 10; Villa Park has witnessed fewer goals than any other Premier League stadium this season (24); Aston Villa have won fewer points after 23 Premier League games in a season than ever before (20). They have also scored fewer goals (19) and conceded more often (44) than in any previous PL campaign at this stage.
    • 19:20 Alan Pardew on Wilfried Zaha: "I knew all about him. For the last year we've been tracking him and talking to Crystal Palace. But it became very evident that trying to take a player of that ability from the Championship was not easy and bigger clubs were beginning to get involved and we were out of the equation. It's a shame, really. Coming to us he would play more games, but I'm sure Alex (Ferguson) would have a different view."
    • 19:20 Paul Lambert: "There's no chance I'd walk away from it. You have to fight like anything to get up. You pick yourself up and there's no point in lying down and accepting it. I've never had a run like this as a manager or been hit from pillar to post like this. It's an experience you take on board and you use it. You can't have everything going your way in your managerial career every single time. You have to take the rough with the smooth and when the rough comes you take it."
    • 19:15 Toon hand debuts to Yoan Goufrann and Moussa Sissoko, although defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has to sit on the bench. Yohan Cabaye and Papiss Cisse return from knocks, although full-back Danny Simpson (broken toe) and utility man Ryan Taylor (knee) are back in training but not fit, while midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa (hamstring) is still several weeks away from a return.
    • 19:10 Nathan Baker returns for Villa after passing a fitness test, although Richard Dunne and Fabian Delph are not risked. Darren Bent is trusted with a league start ahead of Gabriel Agbonlahor, while Barry Bannan is preferred to Steven Ireland.
    • 19:05 TEAMS - Guzan, Vlaar, Clark, Bennett, Baker, Lowton, Westwood, Bannan, N’Zogbia, Benteke, Bent; Subs: Given, Ireland, Lichaj, Holman, Agbonlahor, Weimann, Bowery /// Newcastle: Krul, Debuchy, S.Taylor, Coloccini, Santon, Perch, Cabaye, Gouffran, Sissoko, Gutierrez, Cisse; Subs: Harper, Yanga-Mbiwa, Williamson, Bigirimana, Anita, Sammy Ameobi, Shola Ameobi

And Grant if you want to try to be funny please donít make a completebollocks of it. Does anyone want to buy a claret and blue sledge because it goes down hill fast. Come on you Villa boys show these doubters that we can do it. Yes, for now, it looks like relegation but we are not down until it is mathematically impossibly to stay up. If we are in the bottom 3 at the end of the season then we deserve to go down. Donít keep right on to the end of the road, or you will end up at a Hong Kong takeaway.
