    • 90+5' FULL TIME: All square at Stamford Bridge. Didn't see much hope for Southampton at halfway, but they dug in and deserved to get back on terms. Pressure on Benitez will mount.
    • 90+4' Southampton keep smashing the ball clear as the seconds tick down, Chelsea keep lumping it back towards the middle. But as the four minutes are completed, Chelsea are offside.
    • 90+3' Torres stands up a cross - too high, too long, and out for a goal kick. Don't expect Southampton to rush.
    • 90+2' Clyne cuts out Luiz's run into the box, and again Southampton come away. CHelse anot giving up - it's Hooiveld's turn to clear a hopeful ball forward.
    • 90+1' Mata, wide on the right, drifts in. Schneiderlin sends Oscar backwards. The Brazilian has been ordinary tonight.
    • 90' Four added minutes to play. Ramires fells Ramirez as Southampton make another break. There are spaces as Chelsea push forward looking for a winner.
    • 89' Southampton venture down the right and very nearly release Lambert down the flank. Cahill leads the Blues back upfield.
    • 88' Fernando Torres has scored only 1 PL goal in 19 PL matches as a substitute for Chelsea (Infostrada)
    • 87' Luiz with a cross into the box from deep, Shaw, and then Schneiderlin, manage to clear the ball. Ramirez breaks, but without support finds himself running out of options.
    • 86' Luiz tries to set Chelsea off on another foray forward. It isn't happening at the moment.
    • 85' TORRES! He had space, he charged to the edge of the area, got good power behind the shot, but put it just wide.
    • 84' Yellow for Luiz as he blocks Ramirez on the break.
    • 84' Now Chelsea pile forward. They bossed the last five minutes of the first half, and they'll need a similar finish to the second to rescue a win here.
    • 83' Torres forces a corner kick off Shaw as the Blues venture forward. Hooiveld powerfully heads Mata's cross out of the box.
    • 82' The last time Southampton avoided defeat after coming back from 2 goals down in Premier League match was on 16 August 2003 at Leicester City (2-2) (Infostrada)
    • 81' High ball stood up for Lambert - Luiz gets it clear. But Chelsea look vulnerable - just as likely to concede as score at the moment.
    • 80' Torres on, Lampard off. Benitez throwing more bodies foward. A draw would be a very poor result, especially from the position they were in.
    • 79' Clyne gives the ball away, but the combination of Schneiderlin and Yoshida cut off the danger. Torres is coming on for Cheslea.
    • 78' Last time Chelsea gave away a 2-0 lead in a Premier League home match was on 5 February 2012 when they lead 3-0 vs Manchester United drawing 3-3. (Infostrada)
    • 77' Hooiveld cuts out a Cole cross destined for Ba in the nick of time. Moments after Ramirez is punished for fouling Ramires, and that will allow Luiz a free kick attempt.
    • 76' Well that has shaken things up. Chelsea were coasting at half time, but they now have 15 minutes to dig themselves out of trouble.
    • 75' GOAL! WHAT A GOAL FROM SOUTHAMPTON! Shaw with a bursting run down the left that leaves Azpilicueta for dead, and then Puncheon takes a touch to tee it up before lashing into the far post. Cech no chance!
    • 74' Final change for the Saints, with Ramirez replacing do Prado. Chelsea yet to make any.
    • 73' Chaplow fells Hazard to concede a free kick on halfway.
    • 72' LAMPARD CLOSE! Nobody moves, keeper included as Lampard strikes the ball. But he starts it out too wide, and it's curving away.
    • 71' Delay as Mata receives treatment. He's slowly getting to his feet, and when we do resume there'll be a very tasty free kick chance.
    • 70' Ouch - Mata goes down in a heap after Yoshida kicks him in the shin on the edge of the area. That's really hurt the Spaniard.
    • 69' Chaplow, only just on for the Saints, flagged for offside as he looks to latch on to a through ball. Looked OK on the replays.
    • 68' BA CLOSE! How's that for a ball from Mata, floated in over the top - if Ba had finished on the volley it would have been sensational - as it is, he lashes over the bar.
    • 67' Clumsy from Schneiderlin, who crashes into Lampard as he competes for the ball. Free kick for Chelsea inside their own half. Chaplow on for Davis.
    • 66' Cole races in with a low cross-come-shot - and it's blocked, meaning the left-back has to hot-foot it back into his place.
    • 65' Rickie Lambert, incidentally, has matched Luis Suarez's season record of scoring in four consecutive away games in the Premier League.
    • 64' Chelsea may need another goal here - Southampton have come to life.
    • 63' Schneiderlin seems to have options as he moves forward, but spends too long looking up for one of them and is dispossessed.
    • 62' Clyne making a real nuisance of himself now - bursting down the right again. You can see why some top sides are looking at him. Strong player.
    • 61' Hazard the next man to almost dance through the Southampton defence, but this time the visitors hold firm under pressure from the Belgian.
    • 60' Rickie Lambert scores his 10th Premier League goal of the season. He is now the 8th different Southampton player to reach double figures in a single Premier League season and first since Peter Crouch and Kevin Phillips in 2004-05 (Infostrada)
    • 59' Oscar almost tricks his way straight through at the other end, but his shot is skied high into the London night. Whoops.
    • 58' SOUTHAMPTON SCORE! IT'S LAMBERT! Clyne gets down the right, whips in the cross, and Lambert nods into the corner. That's stirred things up!
    • 57' If the Saints concede another goal, they would slip below Newcastle in the table on goal difference, meaning they would end up 16th.
    • 56' Lambert's been pretty solid in the Premier League having gone up two divisions in two seasons with Southampton, but it's a hell of a job facing him now to get the visitors back into the game.
    • 55' First change of the match: Rodriguez off for Southampton, Lambert on.
    • 54' Looks like Mata has burst through after a a ball from Luiz over the top, but the offside flag goes up just as he gets his shot away.
    • 53' Stinking delivery from the left. Now Chelsea get to business. Southampton won't get many chances, and they're wasting the set pieces that they have had.
    • 52' Decent delivery, but both Puncheon and Rodriguez cannot get on the end of it. Schneiderlin is fouled outside the area by Oscar just as the Blues are getting out of their own penalty box.
    • 51' Corner for the visitors, however - a chance to make something from nothing?
    • 50' Not seen much from Southampton in the second half. Chelsea knocking the ball around with ease, and the men in red are chasing shadows.
    • 49' John Terry and Fernando Torres spotted watching on from the sidelines. They both look like they're trying very hard to keep warm. Wouldn't be surprised to see both feature later, though.
    • 48' If Chelsea win this match the average number of points under Rafael Benítez (20 from 10) will be equal to the average number of points under Roberto di Matteo (24 from 12) this Premier League season. (Infostrada)
    • 47' There's two FA Cup games taking place at the moment - and there's just been some drama at the Emirates. Link to both games
    • 46' Speculative long-range shot from Ashley Cole. Not really worth the trouble of taking it.
    • 46' The second half begins!
    • - The players are back out on the field. Most of you on Twitter very pessimistic about Southampton's chances, and those of Torres - 'with Ba scoring like this will there be any space for torres?' asks William Bradley, while Richard Murray adds 'Ba made the difference again. It showshaving the right 1 in the 4231 matters'

    • 45+1' HALF TIME: One minute of added time - and it's the interval at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea really only near full pace for five minutes of the half, and they have a healthy lead nonetheless. Long way back for Southampton.
    • 45' RAMIRES HITS THE BAR, BUT HAZARD SCORES! Ramires with a snapshot that bounces back for Hazard, who places it past Boruc on the half-volley. Tidy finish, and it was coming.
    • 44' Suddenly, after a less than lively start to this match Chelsea are swarming all over their opponents. Hazard and Oscar almost combine to bundle the ball into the net, but it slips just wide.
    • 43' LAMPARD AGAIN! This time he gets the shot away, but it crashes well wide of goal. Mata was the architect on the right, holding the ball up before teeing up his team-mate.
    • 42' LAMPARD! Blocked - that was Ba who got it started, with a delightful backheel to Hazard on theleft. Hazard knocked it across the goal and Lampard tried to shoot - he could have laid it on to Ba as well.
    • 41' ALMOST! Mata with a volleyed through ball that was only just beyond Ba's reach. So nearly a gilt-edged chance for a second. Ba always dangerous.
    • 40' Cork, Davis, Yoshida and Hooiveld exchange passes with confidence. Chelsea pressing, but not too tight, and allowing the Saints to knock the ball around.
    • 39' Mata mopping up deep in his own half here. The attacking midfielder right by the corner flag and crashing a long ball forward.
    • 38' helsea have kept a clean sheet in 5 of their 10 Premier League home matches this season. Only Liverpool (6) have kept more clean sheets at home. Three of these five clean sheets came in Chelsea's last four Premier League home matches. (Infostrada)
    • 37' Shaw concedes a throw by the corner flag as Chelsea come forward, but Hazard's delivery from the right is ordinary.
    • 36' CHANCE! Steven Davis should have levelled it! There was the chance - fashioned by Rodriguez, whose control is superb. He lays it back for Davis, whose first-time effort from just inside the area is shanked wide.
    • 35' Southampton, for all their possession, have not created much here. The limited set piece chances they have had have been poor.
    • 34' Chelsea have now scored the opening goal in 14 of their 22 Premier League matches this season. They have failed to win 3 of the previous 13 matches: drawing 1-1 at Swansea, 1-1 vs Liverpool and losing 3-1 at West Ham (Infostrada)
    • 33' Decent flicked header from Ba almost allows Mata to steal in. Route from stuff from Chelsea. Don't tell Roman.
    • 32' It took Fernando Torres 25 appearances to score three goals for Chelsea, compared to Demba Ba's total of four. Quickfire. (Opta)
    • 31' Do Prado takes the resulting corner, but the ball scarcely gets off the ground. Easy clearance for the Blues at the near post, and something of a waste for Southampton.
    • 30' Ba, tracking back, makes a clumsy challenge on Cork. That gives Southampton a set piece in a half-decent position, and Puncheon can whip in a cross from deep.
    • 29' Oscar collapses in a heap, claiming a foul by Puncheon. The referee was just metres away, but didn't agree with the Brazilian.
    • 28' Still pretty quiet at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea haven't done an awful lot in this match, goal aside.
    • 27' Demba Ba's only previous goals against Southampton came 11 days ago, when he scored twice in his debut match for Chelsea: a 5-1 FA Cup win at Southampton. (Infostrada)
    • 26' So there's that first goal at Stamford Bridge for Ba. No sign of Torres looking glum on the sidelines as yet, but I'm sure the cameras will pan that way shortly.
    • 25' GOAL! It's Demba Ba! He does very well there as Azpilicueta's cross bounces off Oscar. Hooks it in and it may have taken a deflection off his marker as it did.
    • 24' Cork, a former Chelsea prospect, cuts off a Blues move at the expense of a throw in. Chelsea sending bodies forward.
    • 23' Cech tries to get the Blues moving by spreading the ball out wide to Azpilicueta.
    • 22' Halfway through the first half, and there's not been much to talk about. Mata, Hazard and Oscar have been unusually anonymous.
    • 21' Southampton are unbeaten in their last two Premier League visits to London winning 3-1 at QPR in October and drawing 1-1 at Fulham in December. Earlier this season they suffered defeats at Arsenal (6-1) and West Ham (4-1). (Infostrada)
    • 20' Ba penalised, either for barging into Hooiveld to knock him off the ball, or for handballing in an attempt to bring a long ball down. Either way, free kick.
    • 19' Southampton looking pretty comfortable so far, it must be said. Confidence high after winning away at the weekend.
    • 18' Errant pass from Hazard, and Southampton plump the long ball route for Rodriguez - that's just a bit too ambitious, however, and he's offside.
    • 17' The 'There's only one di Matteo' minute at Stamford Bridge is complete. Yep, they still miss him.
    • 16' CHANCE FOR SOUTHAMPTON! Puncheon rises above Cole to get a header away after a good cross from do Prado, and frankly he should have done much better with it. It sailed well wide.
    • 15' Chelsea have failed to score in three of their last four Premier League home matches. In the other they won 8-0 against Aston Villa. (Infostrada)
    • 14' Haven't seen much of Azpilicueta as a finisher, but this is perhaps why: a half-volley, sliced well wide from distance.
    • 13' Puncheon and Clyne having rare freedom on the right-hand side - Ashley Cole yet to take control.
    • 12' Remember there are two FA Cup games taking place tonight - you can keep up with the key incidents from both right here. LIVE
    • 11' Another better move from Chelsea - Mata teeing it up with a high cross, only just out of Lampard's reach on the far side. Chelsea just settling now.
    • 10' CLOSE! Ba on the right, playing in a cross Hazard and then Ramires almost manage to help in. First meaningful opportunity for either side.
    • 9' Demba Ba is making his Chelsea debut at Stamford Bridge. He has played three Premier League matches here (1 for West Ham and 2 for Newcastle) but is yet to score at Stamford Bridge. (Infostrada)
    • 8' Tame header from Azpilicueta, trying to keep the ball in play on the right. Southampton rebuild with a throw.
    • 7' First spell of possession for Chelsea in this game. Just a few passes stroked around across the back four - but a chance to start controlling affairs.
    • 6' Good move, with Ba strong to hold the ball up and stroke the ball across the edge of the penalty area. The ball is teed up for Oscar to shoot, but it's a tame effort.
    • 5' Puncheon strokes the ball left before do Prado skins Oscar. But the move fizzles out on the left and Chelsea break quickly.
    • 4' Decent start from the visitors - Steven Davis getting some good early touches as Southampton, all in red, look to play the ball.
    • 3' Freezing night in London, by the way. Nights like this when fans tend to loojk at the likes of Oscar and see whether he's got the fight to play in England in winter.
    • 2' Rodriguez picks the pocket of a Chelsea defender and tries a snap-shot - but this one is poor, shanked well wide of goal from outside the area.
    • 1' Away we go!

    • 19:40 Southampton and Chelsea, of course, already met in the FA Cup earlier this month. On that day the Blues issued a 5-1 thrashing. Matchcast and report
    • 19:40 Nigel Adkins (Southampton): "The FA Cup game has gone. I thought we did very well in the first half and you can't deny that but the two goals before half time demoralised us a little bit. In the second half Chelsea had to up their game and they certainly did. But we have put that to bed and I think that was shown (at Aston Villa) by the character the players have gone and demonstrated."
    • 19:35 Rafael Benitez (Chelsea): "We are doing well away but at home other teams play deep and wait and there's less space. We are still creating chances but the main thing is to be more clinical. If we take our chances it will be totally different because the teams we play will be more open and we will have the space we're looking for.”
    • 19:30 Speaking of video, we put Demba Ba's performance at the weekend Under the Microscope. Click here to have a look how he got on.
    • 19:25 Remember, if you missed either of these sides at the weekend, you can catch up with highlights from the Premier League on our video section. Watch
    • 19:20 This is Chelsea's game in hand on the pack - win it, and they close the gap on City to four points, as well as go four points clear of Spurs. Southampton cannot rise from 15th place, but they can put some daylight between them and some of their relegation rivals with a victory. Standings
    • 19:15 Strong-looking side from Chelsea. Just one change from the side that won at Stoke, in fact, with Bertrand missing out and Oscar back in. Southampton keep the defence that won at Aston Villa, but Gaston Ramirez is replaced by Davis, and Lambert gets a rest as well.
    • 19:10 CHELSEA: Cech, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Luiz, Cole, Ramires, Lampard, Oscar, Mata, Hazard, Ba – Subs – Turnbull, Ferreira, Ivanovic, Terry, Bertrand, Marin, Torres /// SOUTHAMPTON: Boruc, Clyne, Yoshida, Hooiveld, Shaw, S Davis, Schneiderlin, Cork, Puncheon, Guly, Rodriguez – Subs – K Davis, Lambert, Ramirez, Fox, Ward-Prowse, Seaborne, Chaplow
    • 19:05 Team news coming through and it looks like Demba Ba starts in place of Torres for the second game in a row. Full teams to follow.

  7. I hope those haters and bad sport writers who always said negative things about saw the game yesterday. Was it Torres's fault that Chelsea surround a two-goal to southampton? The moment the second half started, I knew something wrong would have occured. Because Chelsea started to shut the game off by playing at the back ( their usual style of play). They were not prepared to open the game any more, so Southampton started to attack. And their goals or come-back was well deserved. In as much as Torres is not scoring, Ba and Hazard did score, but they failed to keep the lead. I am a Chelsea for 15years now, and I do love this club. But when things are going wrong, it's good to speak them out. Chelsea like to play at the back. This is the main problem that is hampering the team. They started the first half of the game very well, but when the second half started, they begun to play slow, and stick at the back. Torres is not the problem. Even Ba said the same thing when he first played for Chelsea.Torres is not the fault, so I hope those sport writers be fair in writing their stories. In as much as Torres is not scoring, he always contributed toward some of the goals and victories.

  8. Well done to Southampton for a well deserved comeback and well played second half. But Chelsea blew it again, Gary Cahill is not a great Defender and this guy is an England Regular, it amazes me. He always looks shaky and doesn't give any confidence that he is rock solid. This guy looks weak and very vulnerable and Chelsea need to look at the central defensive partnership, currently not working at all.

  10. im really tired of Chelseas disgrace in football, you got a bunch of players that earn more than some1 a year in a month even a week , and they dont perform?? at home?? the chelsea board are killing the club this time, Bruce Buck, an american who got no clue this isnt USA, we care about football iight!! Abramovic seems he doesnt care! so whats the point in wasting your money ? tbh yes we have not history like man united or liverpool or arsenal but come on guys if you want ur countries league to be the best you must have the best teams right? if Chelsea and man city had no rich owners united would be like on 60 points now and second place would be like 40 ... im sick of chelsea right now i feel bad for this team, unless somethin is done, shouldnt buy expensive players and they dont perform! im not sure but i hope that Mourinho will come back to Chelsea this summer coz if Benitez stays, United fans or City u can surely then win the league again next season coz this season we surely cant, we just need to fight for top 4 and no we wont win Europa league , im guessint it would be A,Madrid vs Inter
