    • - Don't forget you can watch highlights of this match, along with every Premier League game, from 00:01 on Monday morning (UK only).
    • - Chelsea deserved it, but they made mighty hard work of it. Oscar could have put the game to bed a long time earlier - but a win is a win.
    • 90+5' OLSSON WIDE! Foster had surged up and very nearly got on the end of it too, but Chelsea hang on. FULL TIME!
    • 90+4' Chelsea change: Mikel on, Mata off.
    • 90+3' Odemwingie with a fairly tame shot after some smart build-up play from Morrison at the near post - saved by Cech.
    • 90+2' Ivanovic has to head out for a corner as Thomas whips another cross in. What do the Baggies have left?
    • 90+1' Four added minutes to play at Stamford Bridge. This game is not over yet.
    • 90' CHELSEA CLOSE! Moses low centre is overhit, however, so Torres cannot control it, and nor can Lampard barrel the ball home from range.
    • 89' Mata almost through, but his touch lets him down at the last moment.
    • 88' Oscar makes serene progress down the left, but has to backtrack when he realises he is out of options, and suddenly the Baggies end up with the ball.
    • 87' HERE COMES TORRES: He replaces Ba, who's had a quieter second half than he did in the first.
    • 86' Morrison fouled just as it seemed that Chelsea had a chance to counter. Free kick to the Baggies on halfway.
    • 85' Yellow for Odemwingie, who fouls Cech. But it's all WBA in these dying minutes. The jitters at Stamford Bridge have returned.
    • 84' AZPILICUETA ALMOST PUTS IT INTO HIS OWN NET! The corner is good and under pressure from long the Spaniard nods goalwards. Cech made another good stop!
    • 83' ODEMWINGIE CLOSE! Lovely hit from the free kick - Cech has to tip it over the bar! What a story that would have been!
    • 82' Mata gives away a foul, tapping the back of Odemwingie's heels. WBA make an aggressive change: Rosenberg on for Yacob.
    • 81' Foster launches the ball forward, trying to get his team on the attack.
    • 80' Chelsea change: Hazard replaced by Moses.
    • 79' Time running out - will this be like Chelsea v Wigan, where the Blues turned 2-1 into 4-1 a tth edeath, or like the Southampton game where the Saints struck back late for a draw?
    • 78' OSCAR! Azpilicueta whipped the cross in from deep, Ba nodded down for his Brazilian team-mate, and once again he should have scored. Foster did well to deny him from 10 yards.
    • 77' McAuley gets to the ball first, but Olsson, competing with Lampard for the ball, commits a foul.
    • 76' McAuley wins a corner after his far post header is deflected away. These are nervy moments.
    • 75' Thomas wins a free kick on the edge of the area. More frenzied instructions from Benitez as Chelsea prepare a wall.
    • 74' Luiz's effort is not one for the highlights reel. Still just the one goal in it as we move towards the final 15 minutes.
    • 73' Chelsea still look a threat on the break however, and pile forward via Hazard until a decent free kick is awarded.
    • 72' Benitez looking agitated as another corner is conceded by his team. He's seen this one before. Olsson nods well over the top at the near post.
    • 71' WBA change: Dorrans off, Thomas on.
    • 70' Hilarity as West Brom's attempts to get the corner taken are delayed by the ball rolling off its spot. When it does come in, Chelsea deal with it comfortably.
    • 69' Long wins his side a corner at the other end. Chelsea, with 20 minutes to go, have bossed this game but not killed it off.
    • 68' Oscar's corner headed out by the first man, Shane Long. Chelsea's set pieces have been something of a disappointment.
    • 67' Odemwingie forced back about 10 yards under pressure from Luiz, and suddenly there's an opportunity to counter swiftly.
    • 66' Seven Premier League matches in progress right now, by the way - you can keep up with all of them on one page HERE!
    • 65' Takes a while to set the wall here, and when it does the delivery from Mata is cleared before it can truly be dangerous.
    • 64' Hazard runs around the outside of Reid, and gets to the byline at pace, winning a free kick on the edge of the area. Yellow for McAuley, who was chasing a shadow.
    • 63' The game a little bit more stretched now and for the first time in some time West Brom look a little bit more likely to, if not score, at least create.
    • 62' WBA change: Peter Odemwingie is on! Fortune off. Looks like applause from the West Brom fans for the man who drove to QPR on deadline day in the hope of forcing a move.
    • 61' Chelsea enjoying 64% of possession in this encounter so far - frankly, it feels like more.
    • 60' Hazard goes down in the area under pressure from Olsson. The penalty appeals go up at Stamford Bridge, but there's no spot kick forthcoming. Replays show it would have been farily soft.
    • 59' Morrison just looks for a moment as if he'll lead the Baggies out beyond halfway, but is cut off before he can.
    • 58' Oscar tries to dance his way through the defence, and just as he threatens to get a shot away he is blocked off at the expense of a corner.
    • 57' Reid hoofs clear at the far post after another cross comes in. Where's the outlet for the Baggies? Every ball out comes back in moments.
    • 56' Hazard into the book for another late challenge on Ridgewell. Those two have tangled a few times today.
    • 55' BA CLOSE! Just needed one more touch and Foster, rushing out of goal, denied him it and scrambles the ball away.
    • 54' Chelsea continue to press, with West Brom scarcely able to escape out of their own half.
    • 53' Dorrans less than happy as he's called on a foul on Azpilicueta just as he makes a rare break down the left.
    • 52' Chelsea try to take it quickly. Far, far, far too quickly. The ball is in the back of the net, but the referee was still talking to the West Brom players.
    • 51' Yacob again with another stinking challenge, this time on Mata. Olsson protests on his team-mate's behalf, but he's wrong.
    • 50' LAMPARD HAS THE BALL IN THE NET! BUT IT'S OFFSIDE! Mata had strayed too far forward for the chipped through ball, and although Lampard was fine it was Mata who laid the ball off for him.
    • 49' Hazard the latest to kick-start a Chelsea move - the bodies sarm forward...
    • 48' Decent cross stood up by Azpilicueta on the right, but Foster gathers well.
    • 47' Since Rafa Benítez took over at Chelsea, they have scored 15 and conceded 2 goals before half-time in their PL matches. They have scored 16 and conceded 15 in the second half. (Infostrada)
    • 46' Chelsea begin the second half, and Ramires is fit enough to continue on after the interval.
    • - And remember you can get all the latest breaking news on our Twitter feed @EurosportCom_En
    • - A note of caution - Ramires was spotted limping off the field at half-time. Will he be able to continue in the second half?
    • - Did Chelsea impress you? Have they got this one in the bag? Have your say by tweeting me @Mark_Eurosport Follow!
    • 45+1' HALF TIME: A good half of football for Chelsea, with minimal anti-Benitez chanting. There were a few 'Interim manager, you know what you ares...', but the team did the job on the pitch.
    • 45' Yacob, not for the first time, with a late tackle. Mata the victim this time. Just one added minute to play.
    • 44' Ba plays a ball to nobody in particular, but that's his biggest mistake in what has otherwise been a pretty good half of football. He's given his side the lead and his manager a break.
    • 43' Ivanovic bursts free and suddenly he's Chelsea's furthest man forward. Slight vertigo moment negotiated, he slips in Hazard, whose shot is blocked.
    • 42' Olsson clambers over the top of Ba as the pair go for the ball. Somehow the Swede almost got stuck there, and neither man came out of it well.
    • 41' Morrison has a chance to shoot at goal, but after Long nods it down into his path, the shot from 25 yards is skied over the top.
    • 40' AZPILICUETA CLOSE! AND OSCAR BEFORE! Both have efforts blocked as the Blues pile forward. The Spaniard in particular will be frustrated not to have buried his chance from around the penalty spot.
    • 39' All Chelsea now. There have been a few occasions when they haven't taken full advantage of their dominance and have subsequently allowed sides back in - they must get a second and third.
    • 38' OSCAR! What a goal that would have been - he peeled off at the edge of the area and Mata picked him out with his corner. Oscar side-footed the ball and it was goalbound, but blocked before it could trouble the keeper.
    • 37' Ba felled by Reid as the Baggies struggle to deal with Chelsea's attacking threat. Oscar stands over the resulting free kick on the left.
    • 36' Fortune tries to sneak through on goal but he's muscled off the ball by two Chelsea defenders.
    • 35' McAuley does very well to cut out a first-time ball from deep from Luiz - Ba was on the prowl and had he got through, even though the play was on halfway he'd have been left one-on-one and on goal.
    • 34' Since his Premier League debut in Feb 2011, only Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney have scored more Premier League goals than Demba Ba (38). (Opta)
    • 33' Fortune gets around Cole and to the byline but having done so well up to that point there is no Shane Long to cut the ball back to.
    • 32' This was Demba Ba's sixth opening goal this Premier League season, joint most with Steven Fletcher and Christian Benteke. (Infostrada)
    • 31' Demba Ba scores his 6th Premier League goal in 5 PL apps v West Brom. He has scored more goals against the Baggies than any other club. (Infostrada)
    • 30' MATA CLOSE! He just keeps on coming, winning the ball back after his first effort is blocked by Olsson, and drilling a low shot into the side netting from 20 yards. Chelsea looking sharp at the moment.
    • 29' Rafa's reaction to that goal was muted - don't think he stopped scribbling on that notepad - but it's the goal his side and his afternoon needed...
    • 28' BA! 1-0 CHELSEA! Oscar drifts a cross to the far post - Luiz is there to nod back across goal, and Ba tucks it in. Chelsea have deserved that.
    • 27' LUIZ CLOSE! Good hit, benefiting from a slight deflection off the wall, and tipped around the corner by Foster.
    • 26' Yacob clatters into the back of Oscar there, and gives away a free kick. Very useful position for the Blues.
    • 25' Remember this is just one of seven Premier League games underway at present - keep an eye on all of them HERE!
    • 24' Brown warming up on the sidelines for WBA. School on Monday for him - it's 54 days after his 16th birthday.
    • 23' Mata's pass is errant just as he's surging towards the penalty area. That's unusual, but it almost pays off, dribbling through the legs of the backtracking West Brom defence and almost to Hazard. Foster hoofs clear.
    • 22' Oscar shoots from range, knocking this effort high and wide.
    • 21' John Terry is on the bench again for Chelsea. He has only played 100 minutes of Rafa Benitez’ previous 15 Premie League matches in charge. The full 90 minutes of 3-2 defeat at Newcastle and 10 minute substitute appearance in 4-0 win at Stoke. (Infostrada)
    • 20' Lovely skills by Ba to spin his way out of trouble in a defensive position. He wins a free kick to boot.
    • 19' Hazard brings down Mulumbu with a fairly aggressive challenge. Some player, but he does get in the wars...
    • 18' The atmosphere at Stamford Bridge not exactly poisonous or mutinous now the match is underway. But Chelsea need to make their chances count. Ba smashes a shot straight at Foster when he had more time available than he realised.
    • 17' Foster gets his hands on Mata's corner at the second attempt - Yacob nodded it almost straight up at the first.
    • 16' OSCAR CLOSE! Again he's the man given the chance to finish after Mata's pinpoint cross, but his header was straight at Foster. There was a suspicion of offside by the flag never came.
    • 15' Ball slightly overhit from Long to Fortune - he carries on, but far closer to the right-hand touchline than he would have liked.
    • 14' WBA starting to get the ball moving well - as they have all season. But Luiz is on hand to cut off the attempted through ball.
    • 13' Oscar hopping from one wing to the other with regularity so far - here he pops up on the left as Chelsea probe.
    • 12' Chelsea have picked up 12 points from a possible 21 available at home in the 7 Premier League games under Rafa Benitez. They won 13 points in the 6 home games this season prior to his arrival (4 wins, 1 draw, 1 defeat). (Infostrada)
    • 11' Ridgewell caught by Hazard late there - replays show it was boot to boot and the referee feels a free kick for West Brom is sufficient.
    • 10' Morrison surprised not to win a foul from Ramires' tackle. Chelsea ease into the Baggies' half, with Luiz on the ball, picking out Oscar with a ranging ball to the right.
    • 9' Chelsea's passing stuttering a bit too - Ramires tries a through ball which is nowhere near its intended target, deflecting safely back to Foster.
    • 8' Oscar tries to kick off another Chelsea move from deep, but after a wobbly few minutes, it looks like the visitors have begun to settle.
    • 7' REID! Good hit from distance from the free kick. It swerved a bit, but in the end it was too straight and Cech could parry over. But a corner for the visitors gives them a foothold.
    • 6' Roy Hodgson spotted in the crowd. The England manager could be casting his eye over Foster after he chose to come out of England retirement.
    • 5' MATA! Oscar tees him up so deftly with a backwards flick on the volley, but the Spaniard drags it across the goal to the far post.
    • 4' OSCAR! SHOULD HAVE SCORED! Ba was the provider, with a super low cross on the right, and Oscar, from six yards out, should have applied a finish. Foster did well to force a corner
    • 3' Benitez spotted writing on a pad of paper - anyone's guess what he's scribbling.
    • 2' Chelsea stroking the ball around with zip and confidence in the early stages. West Brom chasing manfully in their red away kit.
    • 1' Away we go at Stamford Bridge!
    • 14:58 Some spectacular (and by spectacular I mean, well, awful) Chelsea banners on display today. "Not wanted, never wanted, Rafa out" on a mix of cardboard and printer paper is a personal highlight. 'The interim one' was actually rather good.
    • 14:55 Does Rafa Benitez have a chance of salvaging his season at Chelsea? Will the Blues triumph this afternoon? Will the WBA curse strike again? Have your say by tweeting me @Mark_Eurosport - FOLLOW!
    • 14:55 Rafael Benitez: "I didn't have any problem with the board. I didn't have any problem with Michael Emenalo (the technical director). I didn't have any problems with Roman Abramovich (the owner). I don't have a problem with the players. What I want to do is the best for the team, the best for the club. I have been for 26 years training and coaching and always I have had principles, respect and education. It's the way that I have achieved what I've achieved. We have 11 games to play."
    • 14:50 Steve Clarke: "Forty points before the end of February is good. I was a bit disappointed we didn't reach 40 points before that because we had put ourselves in a great position. But we are there now. Are we safe? I don't know. By and large, if you look over the course of the Premier League history, 40 points is usually safe - but not always. I think it is better we look at the next few games coming up and try and add a few more points to the tally. I'm not sure the European spot is there."
    • 14:45 West Brom have lost all 6 previous Premier League visits to Stamford Bridge (scored once and conceded 17). Their last league victory at this ground was a 3-1 win in the Old First Division on September 30th, 1978. Tony ‘Bomber’ Brown, John Wile and Cyrille Regis scored for the Baggies. Frank Lampard was 3 months old at the time. (Infostrada)
    • 14:40 There is, reportedly, a bit of a curse for Chelsea managers of late with WBA. AVB's last game in charge was against West Brom last season - so was Roberto Di Matteo's earlier this campaign. After speaking out on Wednesday, some were surprised that Benitez even stayed in the job long enough to take charge of this fixture.
    • 14:35 Have you seen Rafa's rant yet? Admittedly, it's not actually a rant, more of a considered (and truthful) observation that some fans haven't exactly taken to him and the team is not better for it. That's certainly the talking point going into today's match. Can he afford a defeat today? Watch it here
    • 14:30 Chelsea still have a Champions League place at at present, and with third-placed Spurs and fifth-placed Arsenal clashing tomorrow that will still be true tonight. But their grip on it is coming loose. West Brom's excellent season had hit the skids recently, but they appear to be bouncing back and sit seventh at present. Premier League standings
    • 14:25 Call me controversial, but I'd say that's the best XI Chelsea can field at the moment. Terry on the bench, Torres beside him, and the attacking triumvirate of Mata, Oscar and Hazard behind Ba. As for West Brom, Lukaku cannot play against his parent club, so he misses out. And a man (or boy) to watch out for on the bench - if Brown comes on, then at the age of 16 and 54 days he'll be the youngest player in Premier League history.
    • 14:20 CHELSEA: Cech, Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, David Luiz, Cole, Ramires, Lampard, Oscar, Mata, Hazard, Ba - Subs - Turnbull, Terry, Cahill, Bertrand, Mikel, Moses, Torres /// WEST BROM: Foster, Reid, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell, Yacob, Mulumbu, Fortune, Morrison, Dorrans, Long - Subs - Myhill , Jones, Tamas, Brown, Odemwingie, Thomas, Rosenberg
    • 14:15 Hello and welcome to live text commentary from the Premier League, where Rafa Benitez is braced for a hostile reception from his own Stamford Bridge crowd as Chelsea host West Bromwich Albion.
  • Summary

    • 90' CHELSEA CLOSE! Moses low centre is overhit, however, so Torres cannot control it, and nor can Lampard barrel the ball home from range.

  6. The problem with Chelsea is Abramovich- he doesn't know a good manager when he sees one! Look at what AVB is doing quietly at Spurs RDM Chelsea legend sent packing after a few poor results, Grant gets to Champions League final and loses on penalties and is sacked? I feel for the Chelsea fans having to suffer these changes- new managers have new ideas and the team has to adapt- whereas if they kept tyhe same manager who kept to his principles over time the team will flourish. Roman obviously has too much money- perhaps he could help the fans out by lowering ticket prices instead of paying off managers contracts! By the way I am an LFC fan who loves Rafa but feel he has been offered the job by Mr Abramovich as there was no one else available- he seems to have thought about a new manager after sacking RDM and with Pep Guardiola not available had to look elsewhere.
