    • 88' GOAL! Manchester City 2-1 Tottenham! Super sub Edin Dzeko! The Bosnian does it again after coming off the bench. He lays the ball off to Silva and then sneaks into the box to meet a gorgeous lofted pass from the Spaniard with a volleyed finish Lovely stuff.
    • 87' Tottenham make their final change as Kyle Naughton replaces Lennon.
    • 86' Nervy moments for City as Clichy takes a heavy touch in his own box and only just takes the ball away from Defoe, who was looking to pounce.
    • 85' Stat from Opta: "Jermain Defoe is the Premier League’s all-time top scoring substitute (20 goals)."
    • 84' City go close again! Now Dzeko tees up Aguero with a gorgeous little back-heel but Friedel saves from his firm drive.
    • 83' Silva goes close! The Spaniard jinks away from Dawson and rolls a shot agonisingly wide of the post. A big chance for City.
    • 82' Here is Aguero on a fine run into the Spurs box, but after poking the ball to Kolarov to his left the Serb sees his shot deflected into the side netting.
    • 81' A change for Spurs as Adebayor is replaced by Defoe.
    • 80' Stat from Opta: "48% of Edin Dzeko’s Premier League goals for Manchester City have been as a substitute (10 of 21). The Bosnian is one of only 16 players to have netted 10 or more Premier League goals off the bench."
    • 79' Chance for City! Dzeko gets his head to the ball in front of Dawson but sends the ball wide from the corner. That was a very good chance.
    • 78' Walker is replaced and doesn't look too impressed. Michael Dawson is on in his place.
    • 76' Ouch. Adebayor goes in on Zabaleta and leaves his arm in, catching his opponent in the face. That is a clear booking.
    • 75' City break down the right but Maicon is unable to find Dzeko with an attempted cross to the back post.
    • 74' Bale robs Toure of possession just outside the box and holds off a couple of City players to get his shot away. Hart parries though.
    • 73' That proves to be Tevez's last contribution as he is replaced by Edin Dzeko.
    • 72' Tevez cuts past his marker and drills a shot wide as City go in search of a winner.
    • 71' Stat from Opta: "Spurs have won their last three away league games; they haven’t won four on the bounce since April 1989."
    • 69' Sandro bumps into Toure in the air and the City midfielder rolls around five or six times after landing heavily on his back. He needs treatment.
    • 68' Now it is City who pour forward and Maicon drills a dangerous cross across the six-yard box, but there is no one in sky blue on hand to convert.
    • 67' Stat from Infostrada: "Spurs have become the first team to concede 600 PL goals in the second half. "
    • 66' Bale wants an immediate response but his firm effort flies off target. What a blow for Spurs that goal was.
    • 65' GOAL! Man City 1-1 Spurs! The home side get a bit lucky when Caulker knocks the ball into the path of Aguero to the right of the box but the striker cuts inside onto his left foot before placing the ball out of the reach of Friedel.
    • 64' Brilliant from Adebayor. He shows great strength to hold off three City players and spread the ball to the left wing.
    • 63' Bale finds himself in space 20 yards from goal and unwinds that left boot of his to hammer a shot wide of the near post.
    • 62' City have had 63 per cent possession in this second half but genuine chances are few and far between at present.
    • 60' Toure hammers in a shot from a tight angle and though Friedel stretches out an arm the ball had already gone out before he made sure by touching it into the side netting.
    • 59' Tevez is absolutely fuming after being wrongly penalised for offside. Frustrating is setting in as City contemplate possible defeat.
    • 58' It is tantamount to cruelty to put Maicon up against Bale after what happened the last time they met...
    • 57' City make a change as Maicon comes on for Natija Nastasic. Zabaleta is moving central.
    • 55' Aguero is through on goal and onside but slips as he tries to control a ball over the top from Toure. That was very poor from the City striker.
    • 54' Kolarov delivers a corner from the left and Kompany gets to it ahead of Vertonghen but his header floats over the bar.
    • 53' Stat from Infostrada: "Manchester City have come back from trailing to win against Tottenham once before, the 2-1 home win March 2008."
    • 52' Aguero and Silva combine on the edge of the box but the latter is unable to get the ball under control just as it looks as though he might be through on goal.
    • 51' City are dominating possession at the moment but Spurs are well organised defensively and are keeping the home side at bay.
    • 49' Stat from Opta: "Man City have won the last three games against Spurs in the Premier League but had won just one of the previous 15 against the Londoners, losing 11."
    • 48' Tevez plays in Zabaleta to the right of the box and Vertonghen looks in pain after sliding in to block the ball and concede a corner. For a second it looks a nasty one but the Belgian is okay to continue.
    • 47' Sandro is down in some pain after getting a kick early on.
    • 46' KICK OFF!
    • - What did you think of that first half? Let me know on Twitter now! Follow Tom Adams on Twitter
    • 45+2' HALF TIME. Caulker's header has Spurs in front. Are those boos I can hear?
    • 45+1' Chance for City! Silva plays in Zabaleta with a clever pass but the right-back gets the ball stuck under his feet as he just about digs a shot out. That isn't troubling Friedel.
    • 45' We will have two minutes of added time.
    • 44' This is all getting a bit tetchy. Now Kolarov and Lennon are involved in a coming together and have to be pulled apart.
    • 43' Toure clatters into Caulker and the ref calls over Kompany to tell him to get his players to calm down. Intelligent officiating.
    • 42' Huge chance for City! The home side break quickly when Toure plays in Silva to the left. He plays in Tevez square but the striker's shot lacks pace as Friedel smothers it.
    • 41' Poor from Spurs. Gallas misreads a bouncing ball to allow Kolarov to sneak in in the box, and after Caulker fails to clear Aguero then thumps a shot wide.
    • 40' Kolarov is okay to continue and promptly concedes a foul when hauling Walker to the floor.
    • 39' Kolarov goes up for the ball with Dempsey but gets an elbow to the head from a team-mate. He looks a touch dazed and needs some treatment.
    • 38' City try to find Tevez at the back post but Spurs clear. Tevez regains possession but his floated cross is plucked out of the air by Friedel.
    • 36' Stat from Infostrada: "Caulker’s goal was the third header that Manchester City have conceded this season in the PL. They conceded seven across the whole of last season in the division."
    • 35' Toure spreads the ball to Aguero on the left and the striker plays in Kolarov, who from 20 yards takes a first-time shot that flies just wide of the far post.
    • 33' City have another shout for a penalty when Zabaleta goes to ground in the box after being knocked to ground by Huddlestone. That was pretty clumsy.
    • 31' Nothing is going City's way at present. Hart made a mess of the goal, they were denied a penalty and Adebayor tricked the ref into booking Zabaleta.
    • 30' The ball pops up to Bale in the box but he sends a header looping off target.
    • 29' Awful refereeing! Zabaleta is booked for fouling Adebayor but it was a clear dive from the Spurs striker. Ade is winning the duel so far.
    • 28' We have a flare up. Adebayor and Zabaleta exchange a few choice words and the striker has to be led away by his team-mates.
    • 27' The first booking of the game goes to Walker as he slides in on Toure just a split-second too late.
    • 26' Lovely from Adebayor! He embarks on a brilliant run and when in front of goal backheels to find Huddlestone, who drives a firm effort just wide. A great attempt.
    • 25' Huddlestone was blocking the referee's line of vision so we shouldn't be too critical of the match official.
    • 24' Controversy! Gallas appears to handball when Aguero tries to touch the ball past him in the box. He left his arm out and that should be a penalty really.
    • 23' Stat from Opta: "Roberto Mancini’s side have conceded a higher percentage of goals from set pieces than any other top-flight team (56%)."
    • 22' Hart really should have saved that. The ball bounced to a nice height and he got his arms behind it, only to allow the ball to sneak past him. Terrible goalkeeping.
    • 21' GOAL! Man City 0-1 Spurs! Steven Caulker puts Spurs in front! Huddlestone delivers a free kick from the right and Caulker finds a bit of space near the penalty spot to thump a header into the turf and past Hart.
    • 20' The Belgian hurls the ball in and City allow it to bounce in the box before it rather bizarrely comes off the back of Dempsey, allowing Hart to grab at the second attempt.
    • 19' Jan Vertonghen finds space down the left but his cross for Adebayor is cut out. Throw to Spurs...
    • 18' Sandro dumps Aguero on his backside but it isn't a foul. This has settled down into a bit of a tepid affair, it must be said.
    • 17' Spurs win a couple of corners in succession as they begin to put some pressure on City. However, they fail to fashion a chance on goal.
    • 15' Aguero sneaks into the penalty area to the right of the box but Kyle Walker puts in a fine tackle as he nicks the ball away from the Argentina striker.
    • 14' City win a free kick 30 yarsd out and Kolarov smacks his shot in. However, it is easy enough for Friedel at the near post.
    • 12' Stat from Opta: "City are unbeaten in 34 Premier League home games, only Chelsea and Manchester United have ever gone on longer runs."
    • 11' In comes the corner but Spurs clear their lines. Nastasic gets in front of Sandro but misses the ball at the near post.
    • 10' Gareth Barry finds acres of space 25 yards from goal but opts against shooting and his pass into the box is deflected behind for a corner to City.
    • 9' Silva hasn't quite got his passing radar working today and though he spots a run from Kolarov to the centre of the box he can't find the Serbian with his pass.
    • 8' Stat from Infostrada: "Tottenham have won their last three PL away matches, they last won four in succession between March – April 1989 in the old Division One."
    • 7' A pretty robust challenge from Gael Clichy on Aaron Lennon as the left-back makes his presence felt early on.
    • 6' Silva spots Zabaleta making a making in the right channel and slips a pass through to the Argentine. However, his pass has too much on it.
    • 5' City have been the better side so far, the home team looking positive and playing the ball around with confidence.
    • 4' City probe again as Tevez plays a shot pass into Ageuro and then tries to pick up the return pass as he muscles his way into the box. Spurs intercept though.
    • 3' Sergio Aguero makes a darting run as he beats the offside trap but the ball over the top has a touch too much on it and Friedel is off his line quickly to gather.
    • 2' We have a brief stoppage as Adebayor has been told to go off the pitch to remove the white tape around his socks. Absolutely ridiculous.
    • 1' KICK OFF!
    • 13:30 Adebayor warmly greets all his former team-mates in the tunnel and as the players walk out we will observe a minute's silence for Remembrance Sunday.
    • 13:25 Spurs fans have been booing Andre Villas-Boas and his team rather a lot this season, and leaving Defoe on the bench leaves him open to some obvious criticism should Spurs fail to get a point. Still, Adebayor is probably the better option for today.
    • 13:20 Stat from Infostrada: "Emmanuel Adebayor makes his first PL start of the season against his former team. He has scored four goals in his last three PL starts. "
    • 13:15 Andre Villas-Boas (Tottenham): "We go four steps up in competition [on Sunday], it's a different scenario. It was a good performance, it was important for us to bounce back, to do it in such a good manner was fantastic. At the weekend we play the champions of England [who are] a totally different proposition. They will want to bounce back after a run of bad results. City have two days extra than us, this is the main difference. The reality is they have that extra freshness."
    • 13:10 By the way, if you haven't already, you absolutely must have a read of what Carlos Tevez has been saying in his column for The Sun. That's right, his column for The Sun.
    • 13:05 After Javier Hernandez rescued Manchester United with a hat-trick in a 3-2 win over Aston Villa yesterday, City need to win to stay within two points of the league leaders. If Spurs win then they will go level with Everton and West Brom on 20 points from 11 games.
    • 13:00 As for City, they bring in Aleksandar Kolarov as a winger to aid Gael Clichy on the left, while David Silva makes a welcome return as he makes his first appearance since October 6.
    • 12:55 The standout team news is the inclusion of Emmanuel Adebayor as a lone striker against his former club. Jermain Defoe drops to the bench despite scoring a hat-trick in midweek. Spurs also opt for Brad Friedel ahead of Hugo Lloris - news that is certain to anger Didier Deschamps.
    • 12:50 TEAMS: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Nastasic, Clichy, Yaya Toure, Barry, Kolarov, Tevez, Silva, Aguero. Subs: Pantilimon, K Toure, Maicon, Sinclair, Garcia, Dzeko, Razak. /// Spurs: Friedel, Walker, Gallas, Caulker, Vertonghen, Sandro, Huddlestone, Lennon, Dempsey, Bale, Adebayor. 2. For some strange region it seems that the spurs players are playing below their true abilities. I remember the same thing happening at chelsea and as soon as avb left the same players went on to win the champions league...

From kwesi, on Mon 12 Nov 22:01
  3. City need to go back to the drawing board when it comes to defending set-pieces, it's getting embarrassing now! They also need to push up their goal difference before the New Year. CTID

From John, on Mon 12 Nov 13:32
  4. Have no real idea what all the Spurs fans are moaning about. Spurs played quite well, but they are seriously wrong about Defoe, however. Against top quality defenders Defoe is always found wanting and Ade had a good game yesterday. Spurs have no real issues compared to Arsenal and with easy points to pick up at Arsenal next week yesterdays game will just be a bad memory. I'm a gooner by the way...

From Andrew Stephen, on Mon 12 Nov 12:42
  5. I was absolutely aghast at AVB's lack of perception during the second half. Anyone with half a footballing brain could see that Adebayor and Dempsey were totally in need of substitution much earlier than he did, then, to bring on Naughton.... Dempsey and Adebayor could not control the ball well at all. Very, very disappointed with the manager and some of the players at the moment.

  6. BRING BACK HARRY - RIGHT NOW BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Don't understand the ratings as Gael Clichy was arguably Man of the Match and deserved at least an 8.

  11. Looking at the fixture list, I can't see us picking up too many points before Christmas, so bottom half of table by January. Will the board wake up them? I doubt it. AVB looks a bit lost, what is he making his selections based on?

  15. Well the magical Portuguese having lived on the win at MU has now proved that he has done nothing when it comes to defending, look at the results within the last 10 minutes of the matches. Maybe the Tottenham management should make an offer to de Matteo he certainly knows how make his team defend
