    • 90+3' Full time! Manchester United stay top with a 1-0 win over West Ham and while they have been making shaky performances look like comfortable wins lately, it was the opposite tonight. Van Persie scored after just 33 seconds to seal three points but for such an assured performance for the most part, they clung onto that at the end.
    • 90+2' Evra slices a back pass attempt! But Evans is there to hack the ball away before two Hammers players can capitalise!
    • 90+1' Nolan! Shot blocked by Smalling!
    • 90' Three stoppage time minutes for the Reds to hang on, three minutes for West Ham to salvage a point.
    • 89' A Jones drive from 25 clearly comes off Hernandez and goes behind.... but Mike Jones gives a corner. Collins, the nearest man to Chicharito, and the other sky blue shirted players are FURIOUS.
    • 88' Some rare sustained pressure from West Ham in search of a leveller ends when O'Neil treads on the ball but despite RVP's surge down the entire length of the pitch, the Irons defend well enough at the other end.
    • 87' There are home fans leaving already....
    • 86' It''s played short but possession is lost and West Ham counter. Maiga races down the left, pulls back and with two options for a short pass decides to move inside and curl a shot over the bar. Would have been some strike if on target, but alas.
    • 85' Quick Manchester break but Collins blocks the through pass attempt for Rooney's run by Hernandez. The referee spots a handball at his chest - the defender had his arms up there - and gives the free-kick 35 yards out.
    • 84' Phil Jones replaces Anderson and that's all six changes.
    • 83' Free-kick lumped forward, Tomkins with the flick-on to Cole, who chests, turns and volleys for a Lindegaard save! Maiga is at the far post for the rebound two yards from goal! No, flag's up!
    • 82' Anderson trips Reid on the halfway line and gets his final verbal warning from the ref.
    • 81' United clear their lines again from the set play. Attendance: 75,572
    • 80' Welbeck's first act is a defensive one, putting a dangerous Hammers move behind for a corner.
    • 79' Rooney is replaced by Danny Welbeck in United's second change.
    • 78' Carrick is booked, though he really should have been in the first half.
    • 77' Hernandez is put through but great defending by Reid leaves him forced to settle for a tame low shot straight at Jaaskelainen.
    • 76' Jarvis is replaced by Modibo Maiga while Gary O'Neil is on for Diame.
    • 75' Wasteful set piece this time from United and more West Ham changes look imminent.
    • 74' The hosts' most fluid move of the half ends with van Persie teeing up for a second before Demel gets in a fantastic sliding block to concede a corner!
    • 73' Clever through pass attempt by Young isn't read by any of his team-mates and goes all the way to the Hammers keeper.
    • 71' Great dummy by Rafael towards van Persie, who cuts the ball back to Anderson for a speculative drive which Jaaskelainen parries.
    • 70' Cole heads down a lofted Nolan diagonal pass into the path of Taylor, who misses the target under pressure from Evans.
    • 69' Collins prevents Young from collecting Anderson's pass but Rooney's there to collect the loose ball and blaze over the bar from 20.
    • 68' Hernandez almost, almost gets a back flick to Rafael's driven cross but it flashes wide without a touch.
    • 67' Demel was felled by Anderson just before the switch and the delivery, sent into a crowded Utd box, is well defended.
    • 66' Cleverley is replaced by Ashley Young as Fergie shuffles his pack for the first time.
    • 64' Lengthy treatment for Evans which suggests he took a bit of a rough jolt from the innocuous coming-together but hard to see where from exactly.
    • 63' Evans makes the most of a shoulder collision with Cole which has the sub shaking his head.
    • 62' Here's the first: a straight switch up top with Carroll making way for Carlton Cole.
    • 61' Allardyce, sporting a scary silver Movember effort, looks like he is close to ringing some changes.
    • 60' Smalling flicks the flag kick towards Hernandez who stands in front of the keeper at the near post... scramble ensues but the Irons get it away!
    • 59' Anderson finds Rooney unmarked on left-hand edge of the area, and Wayne curls towards the far post... Jaaskelainen has to push it round the upright with one hand!
    • 58' @ifancyatopic has rightly pointed out the lack of West Ham tweeters tonight, and is going to lead the revolution single-handedly! "fancy Andy Carroll to score tonight. We're not out of this yet #COYI" - cmon Hammers, tweet your messages of support and match the United backing here - follow me @liamhappe and fire away!
    • 57' Carroll handles while winning an aerial challenge inside the box and the whistle has gone by the time Diame is there to latch onto the loose ball.
    • 56' Van Persie curls it at goal... not a problem for Jaaskelainen. Caught comfortably.
    • 55' O'Brien brings down RVP right near the 'D' and this will be a big chance for United to double their lead.
    • 54' Cleverley almost goes from left to right trying to shake off Demel, and eventually fires at goal an effort which is blocked by Tomkins.
    • 53' Much more dangerous ball from the England forward but Collins again is there to head away.
    • 52' Evra's curling ball from the left misses those in the area but Rooney keeps it in play on the right.
    • 50' Rooney has a half-volley on the turn closed down but the danger isn't over until Cleverley fizzes a 20-yard drive over the bar.
    • 49' Half-time tweets - @tareksherif "boring half after RVP goal but let's hope that will change in the next half #believe" @perriperry " I hope that the next half will be ok because united need more Goals" @soccerboydormon "Anderson is playing really well. You can tell United are missing Valencia on the right wing." @labokeandrew "Man Utd will win this game 3:1. What has happened to Nani? Could make a good change to this game too, not even the reserves!" tweet me @liamhappe
    • 48' United get the corner clear but soon play themselves into more danger in the middle of the park until Rafael concedes a free-kick.
    • 47' Diame capitalises on mis-communication between Carrick and Evans but his attempt to score a similarly-fast goal is deflected behind for a corner. Plus, it would have been 38 seconds into the half, five slower than RVP...
    • 46' West Ham, trailing 1-0, restart the match by kicking off the second half.
    • - Keep your comments and predictions coming via Twitter @liamhappe and we'll see you back here in 15...
    • 45+2' There's the whistle. The only goal of the first half came after 33 seconds as van Persie gives United a lead to hold onto after the interval.
    • 45+1' Hernandez moves wide to receive and cross the ball from the left, picking out van Persie well, but the striker's 8-yard header is blocked by that of Reid. Takes the sting out of it for Jaaskelainen to collect.
    • 45' One minute added onto the first half.
    • 44' Now an offside flag against the Mexican.
    • 43' Hernandez beats Demel to move into the penalty area, but instead of shooting or squaring to RVP he knocks the ball ahead and tries to win a penalty off the approaching Collins. It's all a bit sad, really. Referee has none of it.
    • 42' Nearly a killer 40-yard ball by a central Nolan to Jarvis on the left-hand side of the box, but Rafael, who looked beaten by the pass, gets a foot out to stop it.
    • 41' Cleverley almost works himself into a decent position, but his control lets him down.
    • 40' Lovely Carrick pass picks out Evra on the left, whose floated cross is headed clear by Collins.
    • 39' Evans gives the ball away to Carroll, but the scare is averted as his team-mates come to the rescue 30 yards from goal.
    • 37' More Tweets: @lambaradha says: "And the reds go marching on! #ggmu #fingerscrossed #believe" - follow @liamhappe and get your tweets published!
    • 36' West Ham have another chance but Jarvis's speculative effort is well off-target.
    • 35' Flag up on van Persie as he tries to latch onto Rooney's lofted pass forward.
    • 34' Good challenge by Tomkins thwarts a pacy run on the left from Evra, which was beginning to drift inside. 63% possession thus far for Fergie's men.
    • 32' Anderson mis-hits another 20-yarder at the end of a lengthy passing sequence from the home team.
    • 31' West Ham get the set piece away but the Red Devils remain on top at the moment.
    • 30' Cleverley passes to Hernandez who cuts inside his man on the 'D' and forces a great save from Jaaskelainen for another corner!
    • 29' Collins clears the corner, as well as Rafael's decent follow-up cross. Anderson tries to curl one beyond Jaaskelainen, but the keeper watches it well and catches.
    • 28' Rafael bombs forward and wins a corner off the backside of the covering Tomkins.
    • 27' The free-kick is lumped forward where Evans and Carrick both try to clear and as a result, neither do. Ball falls for Carroll to swivel and volley.... but it's over the bar.
    • 26' Rafael catches Taylor napping and a great turn on the loose ball by Hernandez appears to put the hosts in possession but for Tomkin's interception. Carrick responds with a harsh challenge but avoids a booking.
    • 25' United now beginning the short passes again after a spell which was far too out in the open for a team leading by one to appreciate.
    • 24' The goals are raining in so far across the other fixtures... Premier League: LIVE
    • 23' From the corner comes another at the other side, and while United get it clear initially Taylor hammers the loose ball towards goal, where Nolan almost gets a crucial touch to it - in the end Lindegaard holds onto it.
    • 22' Carroll's head-on in search of Nolan is acrobatically kicked behind for a corner by Evra.
    • 21' The tweets keep on coming: @bugeja_luke says: "It will be an easy game for the lads tonight , #20 premier league titles #believe" and @tokas_united says: "United will kill of the game with 3-1. i cannot see my team United keep clean sheet.#leakingdefence. Fergie think about it" - have your say by following @liamhappe on Twitter
    • 20' Lovely ball in from the left by Jarvis and Lindegaard just gets the fist to it with Carroll waiting to convert. Diame and Nolan both fail to follow up and concede a free-kick to end the attack.
    • 18' Jarvis' attempt to pick out Diame is cut out as West Ham come forward again.
    • 17' Great pass by Anderson sets Hernandez free on the right with a yard or two on the defenders. He enters the box from the wing but instead of trying to cross for van Persie, he shoots and is safely off-target.
    • 16' Back and forth stuff as the two sides trade counters, but the back fours are winning the important battles and winning them quickly.
    • 15' Good passage of passing by Man Utd but Collins wins his side a free-kick to halt it.
    • 14' Good defending by O'Brien to smack a clearance under heavy pressure from RVP against the Dutchman's legs to win a goal kick and get his side out of trouble.
    • 13' Plenty of you confident that United will hit the 1000 milestone before the final whistle. @perriperry says "it will be 4 for united to make it 1001 goals" - @teekosherif says: "am sure that united will get that record tonight and they will score more than 2 goals #mufc #iamunited" and @euzamz says "ManU to hit the 1000th tonight" - keep your thoughts coming to @liamhappe on Twitter.
    • 12' Two shots at goal each that is now.
    • 11' Good set piece from West Ham! Jarvis whips it in to the near post where Nolan cleverly flicks it towards goal, but finds the side netting without looking at where it was going. Close to a very good equaliser!
    • 10' Rafael clatters Jarvis on the left wing and the Irons have a free-kick near the byline.
    • 9' More Twitterage: @soccerboydormon says: "Van Persie just a good and lucky player." while @urjarathod says: "Manchester Unitedd Willl Winnn ;)....#ManUtdAllTheWay" - keep them coming, follow @liamhappe on Twitter and get your comments published.
    • 8' The visitors clear the free-kick delivery forward, and a subsequent attempt to get the ball in from the right.
    • 7' Now Nolan collects the game's first yellow card with a cynical slide in on Cleverley.
    • 6' Cleverley moves into the Hammers box unmarked from the right but his cut-back attempt is snuffed out by Nolan.
    • 5' A United surge forward is halted by Tomkins, operating as a defensive midfielder today, who comes back to help the back line he usually forms part of.
    • 4' West Ham get their first chance but Carroll scuffs it wide, to ironic jeers from the home support.
    • 3' What a start for the hosts. They have 87 minutes to score two more for 1000 goals. Reckon they'll do it tonight? Let me know on Twitter @liamhappe
    • 2' To put that in perspective: At around 19:46 this evening, Theo Walcott set a league record for the season by scoring for Arsenal against Everton after 50 seconds. The record lasted 16 minutes...
    • 1' GOAL! 33 seconds into the match and van Persie flicks a central pass over Reid and deflects the opener in off Collins in record time! 1-0!
    • 1' Manchester United kick off the first half and we are up and running.
    • 20:00 The teams have made their way out onto the pitch at Old Trafford. Kick-off coming up shortly. You have a few moments left to get in your predictions via Twitter - @liamhappe - though of course you can tweet over thoughts about the match in general throughout. Best ones will get published.
    • 19:55 Most of tonight's Premier League games kicked off at 19:45 and there has already been a goal after less than a minute. Check out our LIVE event multiplex to find out who's off to a flying start... Premier League: LIVE
    • 19:50 Manchester United are three goals short from becoming the first team to score 1000 goals this century. Wayne Rooney (131 goals) has scored the most for the club in this period. Behind United (997) are Arsenal (949), Chelsea (898), Liverpool (768), Tottenham (699), Everton (634), Man City (616), Aston Villa (612) and Newcastle United (606). Rooney starts tonight. Reckon they'll hit the landslide in this match?
    • 19:45 West Ham have failed to score in five of the last six Premier League games against Man Utd and the two goals they netted in the other match both came from the penalty spot.
    • 19:40 Some interesting early thoughts on the match via Twitter. Josh (@xJosh_Squashx) says: "I believe united will win but west ham can get a goal because united defence can be weak, so a 3-1 win again for united, RVP to score" while Miller (@MillerPaterson) fancies an upset: "Hammers supporter here i think if we can score first like many other teams have done we could win, we defend really good #COYI" - Have your say and tweet me @liamhappe
    • 19:35 Sam Allardyce: "Manchester United have leaked a few more goals than normal. Their defensive qualities haven't been as good as they have been over the past few years. The problem is at the other end they never stop scoring goals, but if we can get our defensive unit on song and if we play as a team in and out of possession then you never know what will happen."
    • 19:30 Sir Alex Ferguson: "Big Sam went to Upton Park a year and a bit ago and the cynics said he's not a West Ham manager as he doesn't play ‘football’. What was his mandate? To get them up into the Premier League as quickly as possible and he got them up within a year. Tell me someone else who could've done that. He's also had to rebuild the team and get two or three players out because of their salaries. He's very underrated, it's as simple as that.”
    • 19:25 TEAMS – MANCHESTER UNITED: Lindegaard, Rafael, Evans, Smalling, Evra, Anderson, Carrick, Cleverley, Hernandez, Rooney, Van Persie. SUBS: De Gea, Jones, Ferdinand, Young, Welbeck, Fletcher, Buttner. /// WEST HAM UNITED: Jaaskelainen, Demel, O'Brien, Reid, Collins, Tomkins, Diame, Nolan, Jarvis, Taylor, Carroll. SUBS: Spiegel, Spence, Maiga, Cole, Lletget, O'Neil, Moncur.

  8. Gareth, didn't rate your teams performance much either and the match against Chelsea has to be the most boring game of the season. At least we can fill our stadium when we are at home and fill mot other stadiums around the world when playing away, more than can be said for the Etihad Mercenaries. Still can't expect much else from a mediocre team who has managed 3 points in 4 Champions league games with the possibility of going out of Europe altogether now that would be a SHAME !!! Well perhaps not

From Graham, on Thu 29 Nov 9:03
  9. Clement ignore Gareth and his rantings about your English usage instead question his ability to speak, read or write your home language. Unfortunately some people believe that English is the only language on the planet. Many of those commenting on here and are English and still cant read and write the language properly so you carry on I for one can understand your point and not being pedantic as Gareth chooses to be. Have to wonder which team he supports

From Graham, on Thu 29 Nov 8:56
  10. What is this pressure against Young now? I watched him last 15 minutes and he was more than solid, far above your expert's 5. It was the same with De Gea last year. What's going on here?

From John, on Thu 29 Nov 7:28
  12. @gareth. Sorry for all the mistakes! It is not that I have bad English! It is just that I am already tired of people criticizing Man Utd or any other clubs for that matter! Especially after every game! Of course everyone is allowed to have their own opinion. I am no different. Well, you still seem to understand where I am coming at! So, i am still understandable! And yes I am not English! And yes my local football is not as good as it is in England! But at least I have respect for my local league and the team I support, and even to their rival club. I am also aware and admit that Manu have not been playing well..... But to say that they get the refs decision everytime is nuts! Sorry for my language used, but it is just that I have supported manu for close to 20 years and I am 26 now. And to hear everyone's displeased and critism of Manu everytime is absurd.

From Clement L, on Thu 29 Nov 5:41
  13. @Clement L either you are foreign therefore suggest you support a local team in your country. I really hope you are not English. With comments like "soapy sore sore lousiers" Soapy and lousiers???? really. And then you say "if you guys hate to loss so much" Perhaps you mean if you guys hate to LOSE so much, maybe? If you are English maybe that explains alot, you have no common sense to follow your local team just follow the other sheep. Wonder if you have ever thought for yourself, ever

From Gareth, on Thu 29 Nov 1:27
