    • - Thanks for joining me. Stay here for the full match report.
    • 90+4 And that's it from the Sports Direct Arena.
    • 90+3 Cabaye wins a ball in the middle and feeds Obertan but he elects to shot rather than squaring and Ruddy saves for a corner.
    • 90+2 Harper does well to claim a ball at the feet of substitute Jackson following a deflected effort. Great, brave stop there.
    • 90+1 Four minutes of added time as Obertan goes down injured.
    • 89' Tiote now in the book for a late and high challenge. No idea what he was aiming to achieve there..
    • 88' Howson is in the book for a late one on Tiote.
    • 88' Tense finish here and the hosts really should have had a two goal cushion this half but Cisse missed that penalty.
    • 86' Turner nods Snodgrass’ corner aimlessly wide. Time running out for the visitors.
    • 85' Norwich break with Holt and his ball to the back post is dealt with by Perch. Corner.
    • 84' Ameobi for Ben Arfa for the hosts.
    • 82' And Ba almost has the opportunity to guarantee all three points but having broken the offside trap his effort lacks any real pace and Ruddy claims.
    • 80' Norwich are applying all the pressure now and Holt is much more of a presence up front. He gives away another free-kick though but he is giving the hosts food for thought.
    • 79' Hughton surely has to bring on another striker now. Newcastle are looking a lot more solid with Tiote.
    • 78' Obertan is seeing a lot of the ball following his introduction and Williamson wins a header at the back post but with no one gambling it flies across the box.
    • 76' Tiote for Anita to shore up the midfield.
    • 75' But in Ba, Newcastle have a scorer in his prime and he wins a throw in the corner having chased down a long ball. A little respite for the hosts. Obertan charges forward and looks to exchange passes with Cabaye but it is too tight in there.
    • 73' Norwich really having the better of it now.
    • 71' Surprised to see Morison leave the fray. Surely ten minutes of two up front was worth a punt.
    • 70' Cisse heads an Anita cross high and wide. That’s his last contribution of the match as he is subbed for Obertan. Holt comes on for Morison.
    • 68' Surman delivers to the back post, Anita clears and looks to get out to claim the second ball but he obstructs Hoolahan on the edge of the box. Surman whips in again but Newcastle clear.
    • 67' We have a slight hiatus for injuries to Snodgrass and Perch.
    • 65' Anita finds Ben Arfa at the back post, but, while he takes it down well, his effort is blocked at the far post by Martin.
    • 63' Poor delivery doesn’t even beat the first man.
    • 62' Turner goes through the back of Ba and Newcastle have a free-kick in a decent area. 35 yards out and right of centre. Cabaye over it.
    • 61' Cisse latches onto a Perch ball over the top but from an angle he can’t get enough power on the shot and Ruddy claims.
    • 59' Hoolahan is the key for the visitors. He continues to pick up the ball in pockets of space. This time, he volleys a Morison knock-down wide of the post when he really should have done better.
    • 57' Ben Arfa works some space down the right and lifts the ball to the back post but a Norwich head clears.
    • 55' Ben Arfa cuts in from the right and lets go of a stinging effort that Ruddy does well to push around the post. From the resulting corner Taylor heads wide.
    • 53' Turner gets to the corner but it is floating wide.
    • 52' Snodgrass, arriving late, has an effort blocked as Norwich utilise the wings to good effect again.
    • 50' In a very similar pattern to the first half, Norwich start in the ascendancy.
    • 48' Santon makes an decent break down the left but overruns it.
    • 47' Great through ball from Hoolahan. But Harper comes off his line to save at the feet of Surman. Good chance.
    • 46' We’re back underway for the second half.
    • 45+2 And that’s it from the first half.
    • 45+1 Missed. Why didn’t Ba take that? Cisse literally skied that one. It is probably still going. Nowhere near the goal. Awful penalty.
    • 44' Incredible. Penalty. Morison in the back of Williamson following a deep free-kick. Bit harsh that.
    • 43' Snodgrass does well down the right and when his cross is deflected into the path of Surman, it looks like the midfielder will get a strike off but he is adjudged to have fouled Anita.
    • 41' The game has settled back into the pattern of the first twenty minutes here. Norwich with more of the ball but Newcastle looking more threatening on the break.
    • 39' Norwich having more of the ball here. But Ben Arfa is at again, he leads a break and slips the ball behind the visitors’ defence again but Cisse fails to read it and Ruddy claims.
    • 37' The visitors work the ball well down the right until Hoolahan slots a ball behind the Newcastle defence, Russell Martins' centre doesn’t beat the first man though. The corner is over hit.
    • 35' Norwich to their credit have slowly regrouped and are playing their way back into this one.
    • 34' Grant Holt is limbering up on the touchline as Cisse volleys a knock-down well wide.
    • 32' Cisse can’t rearrange his feet and a decent chance from a Santon cross goes begging. Cabaye thrashes the rebound wide.
    • 30' Anita clips a ball to the far post where Cisse is lurking but Barnett gets there first.
    • 28' Chance. Snodgrass. His header is cleared off the line by Williamson following a decent delivery from Hoolahan.
    • 27' The Magpies work the ball well down the right until Ben Arfa elects to cross it with his weaker right foot. The visitors clear.
    • 26' That tactical switch has paid almost immediate dividends as Perch has sat in front of the defence breaking up moves and then passing the ball forward simply but effectively.
    • 25' The hosts are a much more composed unit now.
    • 24' Norwich must re-group now. Morison looks to flick a ball to Hoolahan but there it too much on it and it rolls through to Harper.
    • 22' Story of Norwich’s season there: play well, don’t convert chances or pressure and then concede. Newcastle are a different team now.
    • 20' Very poor from Turner there as he is at least two yards behind his defensive colleagues to play Ba onside.
    • 19' GOOOOAL!! That is what makes Newcastle so dangerous. Ben Arfa picks the ball up in midfield and threads a ball through to Ba, who takes a wonderful first touch on the edge of the box before slotting beneath Ruddy.
    • 18' Pardew, serving the second of a two match touchline ban, has made a change. Anita to right back and Perch into midfield.
    • 17' An exchange of hoicks up field but Newcastle just seem a little frantic. Someone in there needs to get their foot on the ball.
    • 16' Anita goes long for Cisse but Turner heads clear. Newcastle now building some pressure but the final ball is not good enough.
    • 15' Ben Arfa does well to track Snodgrass all the way as Norwich look to break following another errant pass from the hosts.
    • 14' Norwich having the better of it at the moment. They need to turn their dominance into the hard currency of goals – something they have struggled to do thus far this season.
    • 13' Williamson is in a bit of a battle with Morison with Taylor not sure what to do with Hoolahan picking up space in between midfield and defence.
    • 12' Garrido is finding space down the left but this time his cross is cut out. The corner is cleared and Johnson swings it back in. Harper does well to get a fist to it under pressure from Barnett.
    • 10' Martin looks to whip an early ball into the back post but Williamson gets there before Morison.
    • 9' Newcastle work the ball out from the back, Ben Arfa finds Ba, who strides forward but his cross is cut out. Norwich look to break but Morison cuts an isolated figure up top and the ball into the channel runs out for a throw.
    • 8' Bar that early chance, the game has been played at quite a pedestrian pace.
    • 7' Looks like Bassong won’t be playing any further part. Turner is on.
    • 5' Bassong stretches for the corner and is down in a heap. He looks in bad shape. He leaves the field after some treatment.
    • 4' Early chance for Norwich. Garrido plays a one two down the left and whips the ball in. Wes Hoolahan stole in unmarked but his header is blocked by Taylor. Big chance. Corner.
    • 3' Norwich on the attack early on.
    • - The referee for today's fixture is Neil Swarbrick.
    • 1' We're underway at the Sports Direct Arena.
    • 15:55 Match odds: Newcastle 17/20, Norwich 7/2, Draw 23/10
    • 14:50 Chris Hughton: "From the day I left there it was a conscious decision that I was only going to look forward and I think through any experience, good or bad, you have to grow from that. I am delighted to be here at Norwich at a wonderful club. We will take good support there with us. For me it was always a case of just moving on. They are a wonderful outfit with some fabulous players. They have managed to maintain the improvement by bringing in better players."
    • 14:45 Much of the pre-match managerial talk has been of Chris Hughton’s tenure at the Geordie club. Managers quotes: Alan Pardew: "(Chris Hughton) deserves (a good reception). I don't think there will be one fan who would begrudge singing his name, or whatever the fans decide to do. Certainly on my side, I said when I won my award at the end of the year that I found in here a winning spirit and a good organisation."
    • 14:40 However, the visitors have earned three draws since an opening day drubbing at Fulham, but their main problem remains goalscoring with Grant Holt yet to register this campaign. Demba Ba, with three goals to his name this season, has, in fact, scored more than the entire Norwich team.
    • 14:35 The Magpies are yet to reach the heady heights of last season as they welcome Norwich City to the Sports Direct Arena, but the Canaries are yet to win a Premier League game this season.
    • 14:30 Norwich winger Elliott Bennett only makes the bench following a knee problem, while Steven Whittaker misses out with an ankle injury. Anthony Pilkington is also only fit enough for the bench having overcoming a groin problem where he joins Grant Holt, with Steve Morison leading the line in a 4-4-1-1 formation.
    • 14:25 Skipper Fabricio Coloccini misses out, but Yohan Cabaye, Jonas Gutierrez, Demba Ba, and Hatem Ben Arfa rejoin the squad having either been rested or, in Ben Arfa’s case, suspended for that Europa League clash.
    • 14:20 For Newcastle, injured duo Papiss Cisse and Cheick Tiote return to the matchday squad having missed the trip to Maritimo in Madeira on Thursday. Tiote has been out since the opening day of the season with a calf injury while Cisse was hit by an illness during the week.
