    • 83' Taarabt swings in the free-kick, a bit of panic as it drops for MBia but he mis-hits it into Robles's arms. Now Wigan counter, Di Santo could play Kone in but he can't control the ball. Still Wigan's, Kone on the edge of the box but his shot is blocked.
    • 82' Alcaraz is belatedly booked, one assumes for his continued protests.

    • 72' Townsend earns his side a corner on the right, he's been the player of the match so far.
    • 71' Di Santo goes down in the box as he chases a long ball but that didn't look a penalty to me.
    • 71' QPR don't look to be a man down at the moment as Taarabt and Townsend take the game to them!
    • 69' Townsend and Taarabt are over this... five yards from the edge of the box but Townsend sends it a yard over. Keeper may have had it covered, but not far off!
    • 69' Free-kick to QPR after Figueroa collides with MBia. QPR fans calling for a red card bizarrely. That's not going to help..

    • 58' Remy again gets clear of the offside trap but his cross from the right is terrible, landing well clear of the D with three team-mates inside the box.
    • 57' Egg chaser: "how come commentators are screaming for red card for that but nanis wasnt hmmmm strange this" - you seem to think all commentators are the same person! I felt Nani's was a clear red. Zamora challenge was worse than Nani's anyway, straight in the face!
    • 56' QPR SUB: Taarabt on for the disappointing Hoilett.
    • 55' Onuoha shows his trademark pace to get back and clear for a corner.

    • 46' The second half is underway!
    • 46' QPR HALF-TIME SUB: Traore has picked up a knock and is replaced by Onuoha.
    • - HALF-TIME STATS: Wigan have had 64% possession but QPR are winning more challenges and it's only 6-4 chances-wise in favour of the visitors.
    • 45+3 Half-time and it's goalless but QPR are down to 10 men after the dismissal of Bobby Zamora!
    • 45+2 Corner to Wigan right at the end of the half after the ball takes a touch off Bosingwa... Taken short, Beausejour crosses, half-cleared TO GOMEZ but his shot is well wide.
    • 45+2 The corner is palmed away by Robles and Maloney completes the clearance. This is the second of two minutes stoppage time...

    • 40' Hoilett is offside on the left but the QPR fans still jeer the ref. Maybe they want a rule change?
    • 38' Booking for McCarthy for tripping Townsend but he clearly got the ball! Dowd let the crowd bully him into that. Poor refereeing.
    • 37' Bosingwa will take this free-kick from the right... Mad scramble, both sides claim for a handball but cleared! Remy tries to cross it back in but Alcaraz clears.
    • 36' MBia takes on Beausejour, who nudges him slightly but that is a theatrical fall. A dive even - should be a booking.
    • 35' Corner to Wigan on the right which Maloney will take... headed clear at the near post.
    • 34' Maloney to Kone, wide right to McManaman whose low cross is deflected behind for a corner.
    • 33' MBia commits a foul in midfield and the QPR fans groan. They need to accept that Zamora decision, it was a stupid challenge.
    • 32' INCHES WIDE FROM MCMANAMAN! A fizzing low drive after a lay-off from Kone. Maloney involved too.
    • 31' Wigan build an attack on the left, the ball switched to the right as they seek to stretch the hosts...
    • 30' WIgan on 61% possession now. Expect that to increase unless they too go a man down.

    • 28' Wigan back now in possession but Kone gives the ball away.
    • 27' Superb run and pass by Townsend to release Remy but the French striker inexplicably failed to hold his run and is offside. Poor from Remy.
    • 26' Great skill by Townsend on the right, he cuts on to his left to cross, Remy tries to cut it back but Scharner brings the ball clear.
    • 25' Wigan are stroking the ball about patiently. A draw wouldn't be a disaster for them either, but they will look to punish QPR.
    • 23' Wigan now lay camp in the QPR half - they have a man advantage and the kind of passing game that should really stretch the 10-man hosts.
    • 22' Definite red card - Zamora is not a nasty player but he took his eye off the play and followed through into Gomez's head. Out of control and dangerous.
    • 21' Oh well it is a red card! The referee took his time, spoke to his assistant Scott Ledger and has dismissed Zamora! I can't say I disagree!
    • 20' Zamora catches Gomez in the head with a very high boot. Terrible tackle! How has he not been booked for that?!
    • 19' Moloney's cross is cleared for a Wigan throw. So far Wigan have played the nicer football, but QPR have looked more dangerous.
    • 18' McManaman with a cross that everyone - defence and attack - manages to miss. Wigan have it through Moloney on the left...
    • 17' A bit of head tennis now, which is unusual for these teams.
    • 16' MBia has two bites at McCarthy before picking up a knock himself.
    • 14' Superb cross from Townsend that finds Remy at the back post but he lets it bounce, probably thinking Figueroa was going to clear it! Should have anticipated that!
    • 13' Maloney with a nice bit of skill on the left but he gives it away. All a bit disjointed, although both sides are having a go.
    • 12' Alcaraz with a terrible pass but similarly poor from QPR who give it straight back to Wigan. Now Beausejour on the left, inside to Kone, who flicks it to McManaman but QPR have bodies back to clear.
    • 11' Free-kick QPR which Townsend takes short. Given away and Kone now goes on a run but he can't pick out Gomez.
    • 10' Wigan come forward now as Maloney flicks it to McCarthy, he looks wide to Boyce but his control lets him down.
    • 9' REMY HITS THE POST! Wonderful half-volley after a Zamora flick on! He took that on the bounce in some style! Robles well beaten!
    • 8' Traore has to hoof to touch after a ball over the top nearly catches him out. Now Maloney combines with McManaman but the latter's shot is too close to the keeper.
    • 7' Free-kick to QPR around 30 yards out. Bosingwa swings it in, Samba takes it on the chest but is held up by Boyce and Wigan clear.
    • 6' Corner to Wigan on the right, Scharner and Alcaraz trot up for this one... Poor corner, landing outside the box.
    • 5' QPR come again down the right but Townsend's cross is mis-hit by Zamora and the keeper claims.
    • 4' Hoilett on the move now but Boyce tackles him before drawing a foul from MBia.
    • 3' Townsend with a driving run and he cuts it inside for Zamora, who backheels it towards Remy but hacked away by Boyce!
    • 2' Cagey start, understandably. A Wigan win would put QPR 10 points shy of safety.
    • 1' The first half is underway! QPR kick off.
    • 16:05 FACTS: After keeping four clean sheets in five league matches at the beginning of 2013, QPR have conceded 14 times in their last six matches; Wigan are yet to be involved in a 0-0 draw in the Premier League this season. The last stalemate featuring the Latics was in February last year.
    • 16:00 HEAD-TO-HEAD: Wigan have won one, drawn one and lost one of their three Premier League clashes with QPR. Queens Park Rangers have won just one of their last seven home league games (D3 L3). The Latics have won two and lost just one of their last five Premier League games on the road.
    • 15:55 Harry Redknapp: "When I stop believing, the players will stop believing. If I send out the wrong message they'll down tools, thinking we've had it. I don't feel we've had it. I couldn't tell you the pleasure keeping QPR up would give me. It would be fantastic. We have to keep going - we've got to beat Wigan. There's nothing else for it, we have to beat them."
    • 15:55 Roberto Martinez: "It is not a pivotal weekend. We are all set for the final eight games of the season and this period of eight games will be pivotal. QPR is not pivotal in that it will define our season. Instead it is one game in a period of games which allows you to win as many games as you can."
    • 15:50 Wigan continue with Robles in goal, the Spaniard chosen ahead of Ali Al-Habsi. That means there are no changes from the 1-0 win over Norwich. Wigan have won their last three matches although one was in the cup. They have a game or two in hand on their relegation rivals and a win would take them out of the drop zone.
    • 15:45 QPR have ruled winger Shaun Wright-Phillips out for the rest of the season after he underwent ankle surgery. He joins Andy Johnson in the recovery room, while Fabio Da Silva (flu) and Samba Diakite (thigh) are both out. Despite being awful against Fulham, Clint Hill somehow retains his place in defence ahead of Nedum Onuoha. No idea what Redknapp is playing at there.
    • 15:40 TEAMS - QPR: Cesar, Bosingwa, Samba, Hill, Traore, Townsend, Jenas, Mbia, Hoilett, Remy, Zamora; Subs: Green, Park, Taarabt, Mackie, Granero, Onuoha, Ben Haim /// Wigan: Robles, Alcaraz, Scharner, Boyce, Figueroa, McCarthy, Maloney, Gomez, Beausejour, McManaman, Kone; Subs: Al Habsi, Caldwell, Di Santo, Henriquez, McArthur, Espinoza, Stam
    • 15:35 QPR sit second bottom of the table at present with 23 points, seven behind Wigan who currently occupy 18th spot, having played a game less. Sunderland, fourth from bottom, are a further point ahead. Table
    • 15:30 This is a tricky game to pick: Queens Park Rangers have won just one of their last seven home league games (D3 L3), while the Latics have won two and lost just one of their last five Premier League games on the road.
    • 15:25 Welcome to live text commentary of the Premier League clash between QPR and Wigan at Loftus Road. Put simply, this is a crucial match for both struggling clubs as they fight for their top-flight status.

  1. Did anyone saw Remy's goal and his resulting celebration........ remind me of young Thierry Henry. They both look alike, both have pace, both have skills and they are both French. Arsenal should sign him up NOW !!!

  4. Wonderful finish to the game.Well done wigwam, you made a real job of that, nevertheless its goodbye to the queens.Don't support either of these two, thank god,but am glad the northerners put the final nail in the queens coffin.I shall keep going to all my clubs away games next season now,as I shall not have to miss the one at waftass road where most fans hate to go.Its an easy place to win,but the place itself is a horrible#$%$ environment.

From Oosthat, on Sun 7 Apr 20:57
  5. Sorry but Prem League grounds should have a minimum capacity of at least 30,000 that way away supporters can actually get in, no offence to the likes of QPR,WIGAN,FULHAM,NORWICH but, well you know what i mean

From Andrew, on Sun 7 Apr 19:31
  6. Agree Townsend MOTM, QPR played well, but why boo Gomez, he was the one that got kicked in the head? CRAZY. Poor play from Wigan, but a draw was better than a loss, we cant play worse than that, should have murdered QPR - from a Wigan Fan.

  15. Well done Wigan! I'm glad they got that late equalizer. I want the piemen to stay up. Come on Dave Whelan!

  16. I wonder if Harry has inherited all these players on long, expensive, contracts that will have to paid in the Championship. Not too many buyers will be queueing up for these below average players, so QPR could be in trouble paying the bills.

From Ace, on Sun 7 Apr 18:07
