    • 90+8' Full-time. 0-0 it ends, just as a fair number would have predicted. But the second half was enjoyable stuff with the exception of an unfortunate suspected broken leg for Marc Wilson. Thanks for following us today - I'm on Twitter @liamhappe to discuss the result and Wilson's injury further.
    • 90+7' Heavy, heavy Stoke pressure at the death. Sunderland have everyone in their own final third. It works, however, as N'Zonzi is forced to blaze over the bar from outside the box.
    • 90+6' Etherington to Crouch! Mignolet gets a crucial hand to it! Kightly on the loose ball! Wide from 12 yards!
    • 90+5' Etherington with the outswinger to Huth 10 yards out, but too far to beat Mignolet with a soft header.
    • 90+4' Crouch bamboozles O'Shea near the byline and wins a corner for his troubles.
    • 90+3' Stoke try to play too many short passes to nowhere and lose the ball to Bardsley.
    • 90+2' Crouch's headed flick is to no-one. He's done well to meet a lot of these lofted passes but the synergy between he and his attacking colleagues has been virtually zero.
    • 90+1' Mignolet again claims a generic ball from the left.
    • 90' Thanks mostly to the serious injury to Wilson, we will play EIGHT minutes extra here.
    • 89' Final substiution of the match sees Johnson replaced by Louis Saha as O'Neill looks to push for a late winner.
    • 88' Crouch feels he is being held by two defenders as he looks to connect with another floated delivery from the left.
    • 87' Not happy with the lack of goals here? There have been a few late scores in the other Premier League fixtures! Premier League: LIVE
    • 85' Free-kick is whipped into a packed box and Huth gets his head on it! Point-blank save from Mignolet keeps his side level!
    • 84' Gardner makes sure the yellows quota resumes by getting one of his own for cutting through Kightly on the left.
    • 83' Danny Rose, on a booking, comes off and is replaced by Phil Bardsley.
    • 82' Etherington has a shot from 20 blocked by O'Shea. The home fans are turning up the decibels as we approach the closing minutes.
    • 81' Kightly is dispossesed as he surges into the Sunderland box. The ball falls to Crouch, who tries a fancy back-heel flick whilst surrounded but there are no team-mates to receive it nearby.
    • 80' Adam does not appear to be pleased with being subbed off. But he is indeed Stoke's third withdrawal as on comes Michael Owen.
    • 79' Another Sunderland free-kick on the right and Johnson's cross is headed behind by Huth. 6-3 Stoke in corners now as the visitors prepare their third.
    • 78' Replay shows that the strike clearly hit Huth's arm! The defender did not move it at all, in fairness, but nonetheless he's very fortunate to be given the benefit of the doubt.
    • 77' Lightning counter by Sunderland and Fletcher has space in the area! Shot closed down by Huth! He says handball - nothing given!
    • 76' Adam swings the ball in, it's a good effort but bravely headed clear by Cuellar.
    • 75' Colback trips Adam 30 yards from goal. Stoke free-kick with potential coming up.
    • 74' Sunderland corner is sent straight into the arms of Begovic. Quick Stoke breakaway but Rose slides in a brillant interception of Adam's through pass and Mignolet manages to keep it in play.
    • 73' News coming from the Stoke dugout that Marc Wilson has been taken straight to hospital. It's feared he has broken his fibula.
    • 72' Walters makes way for Matt Etherington in Stoke's second switch.
    • 71' Cameron gets past Rose! Cuts back to Adam... not a great shot and Mignolet saves. Adam is complaining that the pass was behind him. Should have done better though.
    • 70' Begovic catches the delivery from Johnson and Sunderland break, only for Adam to find himself outnumbered 3-to-1 inside the box.
    • 69' Crouch is booked for a clumsy tackle from behind out on the right.
    • 67' Martin O'Neill is a naughty boy. With the ball off for a Stoke throw, he tries to pick it up and ends up in a brief tug-o-war with Whitehead.
    • 66' Cameron's early ball from the right takes a nick off Rose and arrives safely in the arms of Mignolet at the near post.
    • 65' The visitors make a meal of clearing the set piece, but they do. Rose then catches another errant arm to the mush, this time from Crouch's strike partner Walters.
    • 64' Stoke win their sixth corner to Sunderland's one. Despite this being far from a classic, this is a nice passage of end-to-end stuff.
    • 62' Colback pounces on a loose ball inside the box after Fletcher is dispossessed but his shot is closed down.
    • 61' Larsson will not be able to continue and on comes Stephane Sessegnon.
    • 60' Crouch with a great head down of Kightly's cross from six yards out at a tight angle to shoot himself, but no team-mate is able to read his play and the blue shirts get it away.
    • 59' Kightly loses his way whilst skipping inside his man, and is well off balance as he shoots from 20 yards. It goes over.
    • 58' Johnson left-foots the free-kick towards the box with Larsson still on the touchline being checked by the trainer. He hits the wall before fizzing the rebound well over the bar.
    • 57' Whitehead gets a booking for a cynical lunge on Larsson out on the right as the Swede looked set to leave the Stoke man in his wake.
    • 55' Looks as if Walters handballs Rose's clearance attempt but Halsey, who was in a good position for it, says play on.
    • 54' Sunderland break after a direct long throw into their box is cleared but Begovic claims the Johnson cross with ease.
    • 53' Finally back underway following the stoppage for the injury.
    • 52' Applause as Wilson is carried off. Wilkinson takes his place.
    • 51' Andy Wilkinson is warming up and the stretcher has been called. It doesn't look good for Wilson. Fletcher has not left his side since the challenge, clearly feeling bad about the whole thing. He twisted his leg up pretty bad in the tangle.
    • 50' Wilson comes off worst from a 50-50 collision with Fletcher and is receiving treatment on the ground.
    • 49' Cuellar forced into another clearance of a decent cross from the left as Stoke once again start a half with their tails up.
    • 48' Stoke then win an early corner in the second half which is taken short for Adam to whip in, and it was actually heading on target for the top corner before Mignolet made the catch!
    • 47' Whitehead breaches the Black Cats back four before cutting the ball back from the byline on the right-hand side of the box. O'Shea is there to intercept.
    • 46' Sunderland kick off the second half at the Britannia.
    • 45+1' Adam ends the first 45 with a 20-yard strike over the crossbar. 0-0 at the interval at the Britannia. First half thoughts? Second half predictions? Tweet them over to @liamhappe
    • 45' Just the one minute of time added on at the end of the first half. Rightly so, it's been a first-gear affair thus far.
    • 44' More excellent defending from Larsson to dispossess two Potters in succession on the left-hand edge of his own area.
    • 43' Half-time whistles are minutes away across the country and there have been two goals so far in the four 3pm kick-offs in the top flight. Find out who's ahead here: Premier League: LIVE
    • 41' Crouch's flick-on to a raking central pass into the box is cleared by O'Shea.
    • 40' Still Stoke's period of pressure but Larsson comes back to defend and helps end the latest attack. Sunderland have actually had 52% possession thus far.
    • 39' Wilson has a dig from 30 yards, nowhere near the target.
    • 38' Poor delivery by Adam but Stoke remain with the ball and everyone upfield.
    • 37' Decent cross from the left by Wilson is headed down to Walters by Crouch, and is enough of a threat despite Walters having his back to goal that Cuellar pokes it behind for a corner.
    • 36' Johnson overhits a cross-field pass to McClean and it's a Stoke goal kick.
    • 35' Rose goes to ground clutching his face as Crouch's arm flails holding the left-back off. Looked like Danny made the most of the contact but to jeers around the ground, Sunderland get the decision.
    • 34' Sustained possession from the Black Cats on the right but good positioning from the hosts prevents them from finding the opportunity to whip a ball into the area.
    • 32' Wilson just about beats Larsson to McClean's floated cross from the left.
    • 31' Set piece for Sunderland almost straight from Mignolet's goal kick. Larsson drills it centrally into the danger zone where Cuellar's flick-on only marginally bounces wide.
    • 30' The flag kick comes off O'Shea and goes behind again, but this time Mark Halsey gives a goal kick? Curious. Was clearly another corner.
    • 29' Kightly cuts inside both Gardner and Johnson to float a top corner effort toward Mignolet's goal, but Cuellar gets a crucial head to it at the expense of a corner.
    • 28' Case in point Fletcher has an effort closed down and here come the home side with a numbers advantage.
    • 27' Sunderland having their best spell at the moment but still prone on the counter.
    • 26' Colback lashes an effort well wide of the far post from outside the City box.
    • 25' Stoke's own crack at a counter yields just an attacking throw for Cameron.
    • 23' Larsson finds nothing but the Stoke wall from the resulting free-kick.
    • 22' Now Sunderland break and Colback is felled by Adam 25 yards from goal.
    • 21' Left-footed delivery into the area from the set piece doesn't quite meet the head of Crouch but it's a good parry from Mignolet nonetheless! Shawcross half-volleys the rebound and Mignolet blocks once more!
    • 20' That challenge belatedly earns Rose a yellow card before the set piece is taken.
    • 19' Stoke mirror the move, laying on Cameron on their own right wing until Rose scythes through the defender for a Stoke free-kick.
    • 18' The right-back is picked out in acres of free space by Fletcher soon after, though, and a driven early cross is just about held by Begovic.
    • 17' The corner is cleared and Gardner is unable to follow up with a cross.
    • 16' Sunderland win their first corner following a great move forward by Johnson.
    • 15' Shawcross follows up with similarly good work to take the ball from Colback.
    • 13' Great challenge from Cameron prevents McClean breezing past on the left at the expense of a throw.
    • 12' Game being bogged down by a lack of confidence from both sides so far. Feeling out process for now but just a lack of cutting edge to go all out for a quick opener.
    • 11' Better from Walters and Kightly on the left wing until they run out of options and are outnumbered off the ball.
    • 10' Crouch is caught offside as the hosts go long again. They found space playing it on the floor early on but have since looked for the aerials.

    • 7' It's not a good set piece and a mis-controlled second ball from Adam sees it go out for a goal kick.
    • 6' Crouch is unable to bring a loft pass down inside the Black Cats box but Adam does win Stoke a corner.
    • 5' Worked short, the set piece culminates in a low McClean centre from the left which Begovic holds at the near post.
    • 4' Good hold-up play from Fletcher wins a free-kick 35 yards out from Huth as Sunderland look to enjoy their first real spell of possession.
    • 3' N'Zonzi's cross from the left is headed out of danger by Rose. Promising start from Stoke.
    • 2' Sunderland, in navy and teal, are almost caught off-guard at the back very early on until Cuellar comes across to cover.
    • 1' The home side get the contest underway!
    • 15:00 The teams are out on the pitch. Both sides have eight points so far this season, though the visitors have played a game less than Stoke, who are a place above them on goal difference in 13th. Full Premier League table.

    • 14:50 Stoke have won just one of their last 14 Premier League matches (W1 D9 L4). Sunderland have won just one of their last 15 Premier League matches (W1 D10 L4).
    • 14:45 Stoke have scored a league high proportion of 75% of their goals in the first half of games this season. Sunderland have the worst shooting accuracy in the Premier League this season, hitting the target with just 32% of their attempts.
    • 14:40 Stoke are unbeaten in their last 10 Premier League matches at the Britannia Stadium since losing to Sunderland in February, but have drawn six of those games. Sunderland have won none of their last 11 Premier League away matches (W0 D6 L5) since that victory over the Potters.
    • 14:35 Martin O'Neill: “With Stoke, regardless of how they start the season, they eventually find themselves, click into gear and get stronger as the season goes on. Last year, they had the Europa League, and were playing in that in February time against Valencia. So it was a long season for them. They don’t have that this season, and I think over the course of the next few weeks, they will get stronger."
    • 14:30 Tony Pulis: "It was great to bump into Martin (on holiday) because he is not only a super manager, but a great person as well. I don't want to say where it was, but it was nice to see him and his lovely wife and daughter. I'm not going to tell you what we talked about either, but I will say it wasn't politics and it wasn't religion. Managers are so different in the summer when there's no pressure on you and he was fine."
