    • 74' Shelvey's cross from the left is cleared by Dawson, then Defoe, up front on his own, holds up the ball and buys himself a free-kick.
    • 73' Dawson clears a swirling cross from the right from Sterling. The Liverpool fans are awake now!
    • 71' GOAL: And Liverpool are back in it after Bale puts through his own goal. Agger's flick on Shelvey's corner finds Gerrard to head towards goal, and Lennon's attempted clearance hits Bale on the face and goes into the goal.
    • 70' Johnson down the right sets up Enrique for a shot, but Walker does well to clear for a corner.

    • 65' That sums up Liverpool, and especially Downing's confidence. The former England winger turned and passes backwards when he had the space to run forward. The Downing of five years ago would not have done that.

    • 52' Lloris punches clear a Gerrard corner, and Tottenham clear.
    • 52' Liverpool are looking sharper now, with Lloris clearing a half break from Suarez.

    • 46' We are underway at White Hart Lane for the second half. Tottenham have had 9 shots, 5 of which have been on target, and 52 percent possession.
    • 45'+1 Half-time at White Hart Lane. The hope for Liverpool in the second half is that Tottenham have only kept two clean sheets in the last 16 Premier League games.
    • 45' Dempsey nicks the ball and finds Bale, but the Welshman mishits the shot and Reina is able to scramble to save.
    • 44' Walker advances 30 yards with the ball but the England defender gets carried away and shoots wastefully.
    • 43' Gerrard wastes the corner, putting it far too close to Lloris, who drops gratefully on the ball.
    • 42' Downing crosses, and it deflects off Dawson and Gallas, and goes over the ball for a corner. That was a fine cross from the former England player.
    • 41' Lennon impresses again against Downing, and crosses towards Vertonghen, but Allen clears the chest-high cross.
    • 40' Suarez again looks bright as Liverpool get a foothold in the game, but the impressive Dawson again clears.
    • 39' Dawson gives the ball away to Gerrard, but is able to recover and clear. Lennon attempts to make something of it, but Allen clears.
    • 37' Skrtel crashes into Dempsey on the halfway line, a really cynical challenge, and referee Phil Dowd rightly shows a yellow card.

    • 31' This is definitely a period of consolidation at White Hart Lane, but Skrtel then manages to clear a Dawson long ball towards Defoe.
    • 29' Sandro and Dempsey play keep ball in the centre, then Vertonghen also joins in. Patient build-up play from the home side.
    • 28' Enrique scampers down the left, but his pull-back is to no-one on the edge of the box and Tottenham are able to clear.
    • 27' Suarez has a chance on the edge of the box, but Lloris is able to save at the second attempt. However, the Uruguayan perhaps had Enrique in a better position.
    • 26' Gerrard puts in Downing down the left, but the cross just evades Suarez at the far post. Better from Liverpool.
    • 25' Johnson tries a volley which is blocked by Dawson, who clears to the halfway line.
    • 24' Agger screams at Downing, who is playing Lennon onside as the rest of the Liverpool defence steps up.
    • 23' Lennon tries to cross from the right, but Bale manages to keep the overhit ball in on the left. However, his cross is over Dempsey, Defoe and Sandro.
    • 22' Sterling tries to make something for Liverpool down the flanks, but Gallas is across to block.
    • 21' Another mistake from Liverpool, as Dembele nicks the ball off Allen but his shot is well over.
    • 20' Bale comes in from the left, and finds Defoe, but his shot is wide. Tottenham are realy on top at White Hart Lane.
    • 18' Rodgers comes off the bench to shout at his team. He needs to peg back the Tottenham threat, with Sterling having to help his full-back.
    • 16' Suarez wins a corner for Liverpool, but it comes to nothing.
    • 15' Liverpool look unable to cope with the speed of the Tottenham midfield. Sandro is completely mugging Henderson.
    • 14' GOAL: Tottenham make it 2-0, as Bale hits a free-kick that flicks off the hapless Henderson and past Reina. It is the first time he has scored three matches in a row, and it is 6 goals from 10 for Bale.
    • 13' Henderson has a great chance to level, after Allen robs Defoe and Suarez feeds Luis Enrique down the left. Henderson had pretty much an open goal to aim at, as Lloris was in no-mans-land but Kyle Walker did well ro put the midfielder off.
    • 12' Tottenham defender Steven Caulker is ill, apparently, but he should be fit for the weekend.
    • 10' It has to be said, Liverpool left-back Downing did not cover himself in glory for the Tottenham goal.
    • 9' Tottenham have never lost a Premier League game when Lennon has scored.
    • 8' Luis Suarez almost pulls one back immediately for Liverpool with a snapshot that Lloris saves, and Sandro helps out his goalkeeper to clear.
    • 7' GOAL: Bale drives from the halfway line down the left, and he skips past past Gerrard, Johnson and Allen, then gets the ball across to Lennon to tap home. As I predicted, a winger made the chance.
    • 5' Bale almost makes it three goals from three games, as Defoe robs a heavy-touched Steven Gerrard then puts in the Wales midfielder down the left. However, his shot flashes just wide.
    • 4' Joe Allen fouls Dempsey 35 yards out and Bale hits the free-kick. Pepe Reina saves it, and Glen Johnson clears the ball under pressure from Defoe.
    • 3' Dembele comes through midfield, and after an exchange of passes between Aaron Lennon and Clint Dempsey, Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel clears for a throw.
    • 2' It is a very zippy surface at White Hart Lane, and with plenty of wide players on show there should be chances.
    • 1' We are off and underway. Tottenham in white, Liverpool in their change kit of black. Liverpool get us underway.
    • 19:43 The teams are coming out now, and we're only two minutes away from kick off.
    • 19:42 Liverpool defenders will need to be wary of Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe, whose goals per game rate of 0.54 in the league so far in 2012/13 is his best-ever rate in a Premier League campaign.
    • 19:37 Spurs have scored a 90th minute goal in three of their last four Premier League games at home against Liverpool.
    • 19:32 Carragher can be reassured that it is not just him. Only Everton v Manchester United (7) has seen more own goals than the Liverpool v Tottenham (6) fixture in Premier League history.
    • 19:25 In fact, only Robbie Keane (5) and Teddy Sheringham (4) have scored more goals for Tottenham against Liverpool in Premier League history than Carragher (3 own goals)!
    • 19:20 Jamie Carragher has scored as many Premier League goals for Tottenham as he has for Liverpool (3).
    • 19:15 Some more match facts: Tottenham have won the last five home games against Liverpool in all competitions, and The Reds have failed to score in their last three matches against Spurs.
    • 19:10 Hugo Lloris is in the Tottenham goal for the fourth consecutive game, with Brad Friedel having again to settle for a place on the bench.
    • 19:05 In defence, Andre Villas-Boas' second change from the starting eleven that beat West Ham 3-1 at White Hart Lane on Sunday is to bring in the experienced William Gallas for Steven Caulker.
    • 19:00 Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele starts his first game in over a month after a hip problem, replacing Tom Huddlestone, and Sandro is fit despite being carried off on a stretcher with a stomach injury against West Ham at the weekend.
    • 18:55 Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers keeps with the same side that drew 0-0 with Swansea on Sunday, so Stewart Downing stays at left-back with fit-again Andre Wisdom on the bench.
    • 18:53 TOTTENHAM: Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Gallas, Vertonghen, Sandro, Dembele, Lennon, Dempsey, Bale, Defoe...Subs: Friedel, Naughton, Carroll, Huddlestone, Livermore, Sigurdsson, Townsend. ///LIVERPOOL: Reina, Johnson, Downing, Agger, Skrtel, Allen, Gerrard, Henderson, Enrique, Sterling, Suarez...Subs: Jones, Sahin, Assaidi, Carragher, Shelvey, Suso, Wisdom.

    • 18:35 Tottenham have won three of their last four matches against Liverpool, including a 4-0 win last season in the corresponding game. Liverpool had both Martin Skrtel and Charlie Adam sent off, and played the last 22 minutes with nine men.
