    • 90+4' FULL TIME. Arsenal get a bit lucky at the end as they should have given a penalty away in injury time. Arteta's spot-kick on the hour mark puts them third in the table though.
    • 90+3' Koscielny clears from a Beausejour cross but the ball comes back in for McArthur and he steers the ball wide! Arsenal clinging on now.
    • 90+3' Arsenal go fully into their shell as Laurent Koscielny comes on for Cazorla.

    • 90' Panic in the Arsenal defence as a cross from the right causes chaos but Mertesacker does well to clear as Kone attempts to stick it away.

    • 81' Stam with a low cross from the right as he tries to find Kone but Mertesacker is alert to intercept the ball.
    • 80' Arsenal make their second change as Podolski is replaced by Coquelin. Wenger looking to tighten things up.
    • 78' Stat from Infostrada: "Wigan become the first PL club to concede the opening goal in as many as 12 PL matches this season. They have lost 10 of the previous 11 matches from this position (1 win)."
    • 77' Wigan make a change of their own as Callum McManaman comes on in place of Di Santo.
    • 76' After Wilshere is brought to ground 20 yards out Walcott curls a free-kick at goal that flies just over the bar.
    • 75' Arsenal make a change as Aaron Ramsey replaces Oxlade-Chamberlain on the right of the Arsenal midfield.

    • 73' Gibbs puts the ball back into the box after Wigan initially clear but Al-Habsi comes off his line decisively to punch away.
    • 72' Oxlade-Chamberlain gets a shot away but it deflects behind for an Arsenal corner. Walcott to take it...
    • 71' Now Szczesny is needed again as Kone escapes Sagna and fires in a hard effort that he keeper repels with his legs.
    • 70' A corner is headed out to Figueroa and he takes a couple of touches before firing in a deflected effort that Szczesny saves.
    • 69' Di Santo actually had to go off because he was wearing an earring and apparently referee Jon Moss wouldn't allow him back on until a break in play.
    • 68' Amid the hilarity, Walcott allowed a cross from the right to pass through his legs, expecting a team-mate to convert behind him. However, it was cleared by Boyce.
    • 67' The ref finally allows Di Santro back on the pitch after spotting him on the sidelines. Hilarious.
    • 65' Di Santo had to leave the pitch for a bit of treatment and now fourth official Mark Halsey won't let him back on, apparently as the ref hasn't seen him. Martinez is furious.
    • 64' Di Santo gets a talking to after clipping Gibbs late as the Arsenal defender cleared.
    • 63' Stat from Infostrada: "Mikel Arteta scored his fourth ever PL goal at the DW Stadium – equal-most by an away player there – level with Yossi Benayoun (4) and Marlon Harewood (4)."
    • 61' Wigan press in search of an equaliser as McCarthy drives through midfield but Beausejour's effort from wide on the left lacks accuracy and flies wide.

    • 55' Stat from Infostrada: "Wigan have conceded 20 PL second half goals this season – only Reading (22) have conceded more. Arsenal have conceded eight second half goals – only Stoke (7) have less."
    • 54' A deep, deep cross from Oxlade-Chamberlain finds Podolski at the back post but under pressure he turns his back on the ball and it bounces out.
    • 53' Hilarious. Stam attempts to find a team-mate with a backheel but gets it horribly wrong. He has had a very average game, and that is being kind.
    • 52' Podolski with the set-piece but he curls a firm effort into the wall. The ball ricochets around but Arsenal can't get a shot away. That was a waste.
    • 51' McArthur gets a faint touch to Oxlade-Chamberlain when grasping at him from behind but there is just enough contact to put him off. Arsenal win a free-kick.
    • 50' A terrible effort from Figueroa as he lashes the ball high into the stands.

    • 47' Oxlade-Chamberlain with a fantastic turn to lose Beausejour but Walcott can't get a shot away from his cross.
    • 46' KICK OFF!

    • 45+3' HALF TIME. Kone with the best chance of an open half. Decent enough fare.
    • 45+1' We will have two added minutes.
    • 45' Maloney now clatters into Wilshere as the Arsenal midfielder gets in the thick of things again.
    • 44' Another Wigan cross proves hopeless as Beausejour fails to find a man. Wigan have been hopeless from wide positions.
    • 43' Now it is Wilshere left in a heap on the floor after McCarthy jumps in hard on him to clear the ball. It was a bit clumsy but no card.
    • 42' Di Santo takes aim from 20 yards out but lashes the ball over the ball. Szczesny was untroubled.
    • 41' Wilshere goes into the book for a firm challenge on Maloney, but replays show he got the ball. It was actually a very good tackle.
    • 39' Arteta heads down a corner and Vermaelen attempts to get control of the ball in the box. However, Wigan clear through McCarthy.
    • 38' Maloney plays a nice ball for Beausejour into the right channel but the Chile international is ruled offside as he tries to delay his run.
    • 36' Stat from Opta: "There have been 18 goals netted in the last four Premier League meetings between these two sides at the DW Stadium, with at least four in each encounter."
    • 35' Stam appeals for handball when Gibbs cuts out his cross from the right but nothing is given.
    • 34' Walcott gets a chance as the ball drops to him on his left foot but his snapshot is blocked at close range. That's the closest he has come to threatening Al-Habsi though.
    • 33' Now Jones - who is as close to a midfield enforcer as you get at Wigan - pushes over Arteta to concede a foul.
    • 32' Di Santo gets possession near the byline on the left of the box and cuts back onto his right before flashing a cross-cum-shot across the box.
    • 31' Stam gets forward once again on the right flank but his cross, frankly, is horrendous. A real waste.
    • 30' Ouch. Replays show that Jones trod on Wilshere's ankle when making a challenge on him a few minutes ago. That should really have been a booking.
    • 29' McArthur plays a fine pass to the right to find Stam but the cross from the Dutchman is cut out by Szczesny.
    • 28' Walcott hasn't had much of a sniff at all so far. A rather quiet performance from the man who has made clear his desire to play as a striker.
    • 27' Arteta swings in a free-kick from the right and aims for Vermaelen, but Wigan head away as the Belgian rises in the air.
    • 26' Stat from Infostrada: "If Wigan concede first it will be the 12th time they have conceded the opening goal this season – more than any other club."
    • 25' That really was a big, big chance for Wigan. Kone had no composure there.
    • 24' Huge chance for Wigan! Di Santo plays Kone in with a tremendous pass off the outside of his boot. He accelerates away from Mertesacker but when one-on-one skews his shot horribly wide. What a waste.
    • 22' Stat from Opta: "Wigan have lost five and won just one of their last seven Premier League matches."
    • 21' Beausejour is penalised for handball as he slides in to block a pass from Sagna. It's the correct decision.
    • 20' Walcott just fails to get a proper shot away from inside the box.
    • 19' Wigan have had to give Maloney some treatment after his head connected with that of Sagna. There's some vaseline on his cut and he is back out.
    • 18' Wilshere embarks on a nice run through the heart of the Wigan defence but as McArthur pressures him from behind his touch is heavy and runs through to Al-Habsi.
    • 16' Podolski gets another right of goal after losing Ronnie Stam but his effort flies over the bar. Arsenal enjoying plenty of chances against a rather fluid Wigan defence.
    • 14' Decisive goalkeeping from Szczesny as he races off his line to smother the ball at the feet of Maloney.
    • 13' Stat from Opta: "The Latics have conceded seven goals to defenders in the Premier League this season; more than any other side."
    • 12' This is a very entertaining game and now Podolski has a first-time effort from range blocked. As Arsenal come forward again a cross from Cazorla is blocked by Boyce.
    • 11' Wigan hit Arsenal on the break but Kone's shot is weak and low. Arsenal then attack and Podolski has a shot saved by Al-Habsi.
    • 10' Walcott now with a nice flick to Cazorla but his blind pass for Oxlade-Chamberlain is overhit.
    • 9' Good save Al-Habsi! Cazorla with an extravagant touch to find Mikel Arteta through the legs of McCarthy. The ball is played to the right to Oxlade-Chamberlain and his firm drive is parried behind by the Wigan keeper.
    • 8' Maloney lifts a pass over the top of the Arsenal defence for Arouna Kone but the striker is offside.
    • 7' Wigan's formation looks to be pretty fluid and at times it almost seems like a back two with Boyce and Figueroa the deepest players. McCarthy is playing a bit in front of them.
    • 6' Thomas Vermaelen is on hand to clear from a Franco Di Santo low cross as Wigan come forward again. This already looks a very open game.
    • 5' Brilliant close control from Cazorla as he takes the ball away from his man to find Jack Wilshere. The move breaks down though.
    • 4' Per Mertesacker is put under pressure by Jean Beausejour and hurries a pass, which rolls out for a Wigan throw. They try to attack Arsenal from it but Oxlade-Chamberlain clears.
    • 3' Walcott floats the ball in but no-nonsense defender McCarthy heads away. Really excited to see how he gets on at the back today.
    • 2' The away fans are serenading Santi Cazorla early on after his hat-trick against Reading but it is Bacary Sagna who drives forward to win an early corner.
    • 1' KICK OFF! Arsenal kicking left to right.
    • 12:45 According to Sky, due to a severe lack of centre-backs Wigan are playing James McCarthy in central defence, where he will be flanked by Maynor Figueroa and Emmerson Boyce.
    • 12:40 Want to know what Theo Walcott is like as a central striker? This week's Tactical Brain feature assessed his performance against Reading. Watch it here.
    • 12:35 Time for some quick stats from Opta: "Thomas Vermaelen has scored in each of his three Premier League appearances against Wigan, netting four in total across those matches. There have been 18 goals netted in the last four Premier League meetings between these two sides at the DW Stadium, with at least four in each encounter. Theo Walcott has scored (11) or assisted (7) 18 goals for Arsenal in all competitions this season, more than any other Gunners’ player."
    • 12:30 Wigan find themselves 18th in the table at present and they have lost three of their past four games, winning just four in 15. Still though, they possess the quality to get clear of the bottom three. Today they start in a 3-4-3 formation.
    • 12:25 Arsenal have only won four of their past 12 games in all competitions but had a slight return to form against Reading. It was a dangerous as they have looked all season, albeit against very poor opposition. They are currently fifth in the table, two points behind Chelsea and Tottenham.
    • 12:20 A major boost for Wigan is the inclusion of James McCarthy, who suffered an ankle injury in a heavy collision against Norwich and was expected to be out for some weeks. The young Ireland international is a very classy player.
    • 12:15 Arsenal are unchanged following their win at Reading while Wigan make three changes after losing 2-1 at Norwich, Piscu, Mauro Boselli and Jordi Gomez replaced by David Jones, Franco Di Santo and Shaun Maloney.
    • 12:10 TEAMS: Wigan: Al-Habsi, Jones, Boyce, Figueroa, McCarthy, McArthur, Beausejour, Stam, Kone, Di Santo, Maloney. • 12:05 The early team news coming in is that Theo Walcott starts in attack for Arsenal again, having taken the central striker's role in a 5-2 win at Reading on Monday night.
