    • - Don't forget you can watch highlights of this match, along with every Premier League game, from 00:01 on Monday morning (UK only).
    • 90+3' The final whistle goes and it's a win for the European champions. That early blitz orchestrated by Eden Hazard was enough for them.
    • 90+1' Three minutes of added time to be played at the end of this game.
    • 90' Great interplay between Kone and Gomez before the latter hits a curling shot wide of the far post.
    • 89' Great give-and-go between Ivanovic and Oscar and the defender tries to set up Torres when he really should have had a shot.
    • 87' Meireles delivers the set piece and Luiz's header is an easy stop for Al Habsi.
    • 86' Torres skips his way down the right flank and turns inside where he is clipped just outside the area by Watson.
    • 85' The ball pings off Kone and around the chelsea area and it loops up into the air for Gomez to meet with an acrobatic overhead kick that goes wide! Cech looked helpless to stop it had it been on target.
    • 84' Kone loses his marker at a Wigan corner and attacks the ball at the near post but can't guide it on target!
    • 82' Chelsea substitution: Raul Meireles replaces Mata.
    • 81' Cech carelessly rolls the ball out from the back and Gomez intercepts it. The ball runs past Kone, who was offside anyway, and runs back to Cech.
    • 79' Wigan substitution: Ben Watson replaces McArthur.
    • 76' Chelsea conceded more goals in the final 15 minutes of matches than any other team in the top flight last season (20).
    • 76' Cole plays himself into trouble on the edge of his area but Alcaraz is unable to take adavantage of the situation and can only foul the left-back.
    • 74' It will be Gomez to strike... Hit low and at pace but Cech is down to save and hold well.
    • 73' Late challenge from Lampard on Gomezand Wigan have a free-kick in an ideal area for a shot at goal. With no Maloney, it will be interesting to see who takes this...
    • 72' Oscar becomes the seventh Brazilian to play in the Premier League for Chelsea. No other team has had more than six.
    • 70' Moses plays in a great diagonal ball that Gomez heads well wide! His blushes are at least partially spared by the linesman's flag being raised for offside.
    • 69' Kone came to the attention of many on the opening weekend of La Liga last season when he scored the only goal in Levante's famous win over Real Madrid. He'll have to go some to cause another upset this afternoon.
    • 68' Oscar hares forward to chase Torres's flick-on and he wins the race, but his low strike from the edge of the box is wide. It would have taken some strike to beat Al Habsi from there.
    • 67' Wigan substitution: Arouna Kone replaces Di Santo.
    • 65' Chelsea substitution: Oscar replaces Hazard.
    • 64' Wigan go right up the other end and Moses hits a low ball across the area that Chelsea have to put behind for a corner!
    • 63' SO CLOSE FOR TORRES!! The Spain striker is played through and he does well to stay on his feet and trickle the ball past Al Habsi, but Ramis clears it off the line!
    • 61' Wigan are one short of conceding their 250th Premier League goal in the second-half. That’s more than any other team since they were promoted to the division in 2005-06.
    • 59' Moses tries to bend a shot around Cech into the far corner, but it sails comfortably past the wrong sight of the upright.
    • 58' Moses tries another go at surging past Ivanovic to the byline, but again he finds the route blocked off and he takes the ball out of play.
    • 57' McArthur catches Lamaprd with a kick on the leg, and he goes into the referee's book.
    • 55' Moses turns Ivanovic inside out with ease on the right, but his cross intended for Di Santo is an easy catch for Cech.
    • 54' Lovely flick from Bertrand gets him past Alcaraz down the left and he squares to Lampard on the edge of the box. The midfielder takes a touch to set himself for the shot but that allows his marker to nick the ball off him.
    • 52' torres is fed down the right by Luiz. The ball into the box deflects into the air and drops invitingly for Cole to volley... He shanks the effort high and into the crowd! A few wolf whistles greet that chance.
    • 51' A bright start to the second half for Wigan, but they are still being kept at bay by Chelsea's experienced defence.
    • 49' Maloney is believed to have been withdrawn suffering with a thigh injury. That's a blow to the vague hopes Wigan may have of salvaging a result here.
    • 48' Wigan substitution: Jordi Gomez replaces Maloney.
    • 47' Maloney's free-kick fromt he left flank is headed away but Alcaraz floats a cross to Di Santo at the far post. His first touch is good but the low cross is deflected clear of the danger area.
    • 46' The second half is underway!
    • HT @Fribee: "Roberto Martinez too good a coach even prob better that RDM."
    • HT @chelseafcfan009: "i predict that chelsea will score 2 more goals in 2nd half, torres and oscar will score"
    • HT @IllAndromeda1: "Chelsea Fan, We are looking good so far but we need close the game out in the second half, Torres to score"
    • HT You can share your half-time thoughts with me via Twitter @tony_mabert. Get in touch!
    • 45+3' Half-time goes, and Wigan may well feel relieved that it's only 2-0 after that blistering opening period!
    • 45+2' Maloney stands over a free-kick, very central. His effort floats over the wall and it's an easy catch for Cech.
    • 45+1' CHANCE GOES BEGGING FOR DI SANTO!! Maynor Figueroa plays the Wigan striker clean through but he hesitates in front of goal and Cech does enough to block his shot, with Luiz on hand to stop it trickling over the line! That should have been a goal.
    • 45' Two minutes of time to be added on at the end of the first half.
    • 44' Another Wigan corner is handled with authority in the air by Chelsea.
    • 43' Lovely skill from Moses as he flicks the ball over Ashley Cole's head and surges into the box but his cross/shot neither tests Cech nor finds a team-mate.
    • 42' Wigan have lost just one of their last eight Premier League games at the DW Stadium and won the last four in a row. Chelsea have won just one of their last nine Premier League away games (W1 D4 L4).
    • 40' Ramis clumsily gives the ball away to Torres but the striker can't make the most of the chance.
    • 39' Wigan win a corner but they are unable to carve out an opportunity from it.
    • 38' CECH SAVES!! Moses hits a well-struck effort from an angle and Cech has to have firm hands to palm it away!
    • 36' James McArthur catches Hazard on the back of the head with a stray arm. The young Belgian has already been in the wars.
    • 35' Di Santo wrestles with Ivanovic as the pair jump for a header, and he is penalised for pushing down on the Chelsea defender as he did so.
    • 34' Luiz is booked for his first foul of the match, a little nibble at Maloney's heel. Considering what McCarthy just got away with, that's harsh.
    • 33' Luiz brings the ball forward and pops it through to Torres. The Spaniard thought for a moment he had beaten the offside trap, but he hadn't and the flag goes up.
    • 32' A second foul in quick succession from McCarthy, this time on Hazard, but still no card comes out. Surely that's his last chance.
    • 30' James McCarthy with a fould on Mata in the centre circle. Just a word from the referee this time.
    • 29' Wigan have had a lot more of the ball in the Chelsea half over the last 10 minutes or so, but the visitors are just so adept at shutting their opponents down to protect a lead.
    • 27' Ivanovic tries to guide the ball back to Cech with his chest but misjudges the bounce. Cech runs after and appears to catch it just outside the area with his toes over the line! None of the officials signal anything and play continues!
    • 25' Chelsea enjoyed their joint-biggest win away from home in Premier League history when they won 6-0 at Wigan in August 2010.
    • 23' Mata puts in a low pass across the box for Torres to run on to but Al-Habsi is quick off his line to gather it up.
    • 22' Chelsea make a good job of dealing with both the initial delivery and the second ball from Wigan.
    • 20' Quick feet from Moses the forward wins a free-kick on the right-hand side of the Chelsea area. Can Wigan make use of this?
    • 19' Emmerson Boyce sends an inviting cross into the Chelsea box and Di Santo leaps between two defenders but heads over! The former Chelsea forward knows he should have tested Petr Cech there.
    • 18' Torres turns and surges for the Wigan box. He is barged over by Antolin Alcaraz but the referee judges it to be shoulder-to-shoulder and play continues.
    • 17' Juna Mata wriggles his way between two Wigan players and is brought down on the halfway line. Chelsea play the set piece short.
    • 16' Wigan win a corner. Shaun Maloney's initial delivery is cleared but the home side build again. Maloney's cross is over everyone and out for a Chelsea throw. Maloney was so instrumental in that late-season burst which saved Wigan from relegation.
    • 15' Lampard's goal today is his seventh in the opening game of a Premier League season. Only Alan Shearer (8) has scored more.
    • 14' Victor Moses tries to surge past Ivanovic at the byline but the Serb defender blocks his path and wins a goal kick.
    • 13' Franco di Santo wins the race against David Luiz to a ball down the left flank. He turns and tries to cross but the Brazilian defender makes the block.
    • 12' Fernando Torres has barely had a touch and Chelsea are 2-0 up. The Spaniard drops deep into his own half to help Chelsea keep possession.
    • 11' Wigan captain Gary Caldwell takes out his furstration on Hazard by going into the back of him with a foul. That's the first booking of the game.
    • 10' After that breathless start Wigan finally begin to see some of the ball in the Chelsea half, but the move soons breaks down.
    • 8' Hazard has only been a Premier League player for less tham 10 minutes, and he has already claimed an assist and won a penalty! Last season he scored 20 league goals and set up another 16, so he's just picking up where he left off really.
    • 7' Lampard scored 11 league goals last season, and it took him just six minutes to open his accouhnt for 2012/13.
    • 6' GOAL!! WIGAN 0-2 CHELSEA!! Lampard smashes the ball low and underneath Al-Habsi! What a nightmare start for Wigan!
    • 5' PENALTY!! Hazard again, this time drawing a foul off Wigan debutant Ivan Ramis inside the area! Frank Lamaprd will take the penalty...
    • 3' Some may be questioning why Ivanovic is even on the pitch today following his red card in the Community Shield a week ago. The FA had decided to change the status of the traditional curtain-raiser so that suspensions no longer count in the league. So there you go.
    • 2' GOAL!! WIGAN 0-1 CHELSEA!! Hazard turns swiftly in the centre circle and plays a ball into the galloping run of Branislav Ivanovic. The big defender trundles his way into the area before finishing coolly past Ali Al-Habsi!
    • 1' Wigan kick off to get this show on the road! Plenty of boos for John Terry every time he gets a few early touches.
    • 13:25 The teams are coming out on to the pitch now. We'll be ready to go shortly. You can share your thoughts with me during the game via Twitter @tony_mabert. Speak your brains!
    • 13:20 This fixture was Wigan's first as a Premier League club back in 2005. Hernan Crespo scored in the last minute to give Chelsea a 1-0 victory at what was then known as the JJB Stadium.
    • 13:15 Talking of work, Wigan will have a job on their hands today. They won seven and lost just two of their last 11 Premier League games last season as they battled their way to Premier League survival. Can they avoid their traditional early-season struggles and give Latics fans a calmer end to this season?
    • 13:10 Chelsea have not messed around since they won the Champions League back in May. They have spent more than £60 million on young attacking talent in the form of Eden Hazard, Marko Marin and Oscar this summer, as well as giving Roberto Di Matteo a permanent contract. It failed to land them the Community Shield last week, but this is where the real work starts.
    • 13:05 Head-to-head: Chelsea have won 11 and lost just one of 14 Premier League meetings with Wigan. Last season the Blues won 2-1 at Stamford Bridge and drew 1-1 at the DW Stadium. Wigan's only league win over Chelsea a 3-1 win in September 2009 when Titus Bramble, Hugo Rodallega and Paul Scharner scored the goals.
    • 13:00 Eden Hazard makes his Premier League debut for Chelsea, but fellow summer signing Oscar only makes it to the bench. With Ramires missing out through illness, Ryna Bertrand comes into the midfield where Eden Hazard makes his Premier League debut. Oscar, another summer signing, only makes the bench, while Chelsea's third off-season acquisition, Marko Marin, is not in the squad. Chelsea team page
    • 12:55 New signing Ivan Ramis makes his debut for Wigan. The Spanish centre-half, a £4m summer arrival from Mallorca, has recovered from a hamstring strain. Midfielder James McCarthy also starts after overcoming a back problem. Striker Victor Moses starts despite interest from Chelsea while another new recruit, Arouna Kone, starts on the bench. Subs: Pollitt, Kone, Jones, Crusat, Watson, Gomez, Boselli. /// Chelsea: Cech; Ivanovic, Terry, Luiz, Cole; Mikel, Lampard; Mata, Hazard, Bertrand; Torres.
