    • 90'+5 It's all over! A 2-2 draw that is fair to both sides after a dramatic match at the DW Stadium. Wigan were just a few minutes away from picking up a second win of the season, but Everton's pressure finally came to bear.
    • 90'+4 Both sides still going full tilt looking for a winner, Pienaar now putting in a cross for Jelavic from the right that is too hard.
    • 90'+3 Moyes is ready to bring Steven Naismith on in place of Mirallas - Everton want all three points.
    • 90'+2 Anichebe goes in the book for a late challenge on Figueroa - more for his reaction to it being judged a foul than for the act itself.
    • 90'+1 Five extra minutes to play, thanks to all the injuries and cards, and as we go into added time McArthur gets a shot in for Wigan that's deflected off.
    • 90' WIGAN SO CLOSE TO A WINNER! Maloney latches on to a great ball after beating the offside trap, and after cutting back to buy time he has a shot that's deflected, and loops over Howard... but goes just inches over the bar! Huge blunder by Maloney to shoot - he had Kone and McManaman in support, and unmarked....
    • 89' Wigan's players have been stung into action after sitting back and defending for the last 25 minutes or so - can they get a winner?
    • 88' Wigan's luck finally ran out there - after a penalty that should have been given, the replays suggest that Mirallas made a cynical dive to win that one, but nobody could deny that Everton deserve something out of this match.
    • 87' BAINES SCORES THE PENALTY! Al Habsi guesses correctly, but Baines's penalty was truly outstanding, thumped into the top right corner. Literally unsaveable!
    • 86' PENALTY TO EVERTON! Mirallas goes down in the box under a challenge by Figueroa, and all that pressure has finally delivered a chance to Everton...
    • 85' Everton keep pouring on the pressure - another call for handball now, but it was off Caldwell's back.
    • 84' Another huge let-off for Wigan! Caldwell barges into Jelavic's back as the Everton striker takes the ball perfectly on his chest in the box, but Kevin Friend rules play on. Baffling!
    • 83' Jelavic strikes it.... but it's straight into the wall.
    • 82' Everton win a free kick, 28 yards out just on the left half...
    • 81' Great tackle by Beausejour, and as the ball goes off Everton will make a change: Anichebe comes on for Phil Neville.
    • 80' Half-chance for Wigan as they make a rare break, but Kone is unable to latch on to a loose ball in the box and Everton get it back.
    • 79' It's all Everton now - and David Moyes is not happy about that penalty decision.
    • 78' The ref has judged that Figueroa got the ball before he got Jelavic's foot, but replays suggest otherwise - that's a big let-off for Wigan.
    • 77' Great chance for Everton - penalty denied! The Toffees win the ball and Baines delivers a ball to Jelavic, who takes it on his chest and is just about to shoot when Figueroa gets his foot in. Jelavic goes down - but no penalty awarded!
    • 77' Wigan are trying to ping the ball round to hang on to it, but it seems a dangerous tactic - they're being closed down so quickly...
    • 76' Di Santo needs some treatment after that trip - that's six yellow cards now.
    • 75' Looks like we might have another yellow as Neville takes out di Santo with a late challenge from behind - and yes, he's in the book.
    • 74' Everton push forward once agian, but Di Santo is covering back here - Wigan's players are defending well despite the efforts of Everton to make a breakthrough.
    • 73' Wigan come up again with Boyce finding Kone on the right half of the box - but the Ivory Coast star slices his effort wide under pressure from Distin.
    • 72' Al Habsi is playing on despite puffing and blowing hard - and Wigan will want to keep him on, considering that Pollitt is 40, and hasn't made it onto the pitch in 18 months.
    • 71' Al Habsi gets a bit of treatment after apparently hurting himself while slipping over making a clearance. He looks sore, and veteran Mike Pollitt is warming up on the touchline.
    • 70' Fabulous curving ball put in from the left by Baines right to the six-yard box, but Jelavic is just a couple of yards short of making contact with his diving header.
    • 69' Everton's fans are getting on Al Habsi's back about taking too long with his goal kicks, and the referee has a warning word.
    • 68' Everton come up the left flank yet again through Baines, Pienaar and Mirallas, but Mirallas's shot from inside the edge of the box is blocked well by a sliding Caldwell.
    • 67' David Moyes is now getting desperate to turn this match around - screaming new tactics at his men, and checking his watch nervously.
    • 66' Wigan move up on the break with Kone and Maloney combining well, but as Kone tries to release Boyce on the right the move comes to an end - Boyce gets nowhere near an ambitiously-targeted pass.
    • 65' Pienaar gets the ball once again and his cross from the left almost finds Jagielka at the near post. He can't get it on target, though, and the ball is pumped clear by Al Habsi.
    • 64' Half-chance for Everton as a speculative long shot by Pienaar is spilt by Al Habsi - but Caldwell is there to clear the decks.
    • 62' Caldwell and Tim Howard bump in to each other, and Howard - all 6'5" and 15 stone of him - collapse to the ground in a transparent attempt to earn yet another yellow. Ref not falling for it this time.
    • 61' Incredible chance for Wigan! Kone finds di Santo, who links up with a first-time touch with Maloney - and Maloney delivers the ball back across to Kone in space in the box. But Jagielka slides in with what is a goal-saving sliding tackle! Great work from Wigan, brilliant defence from Jagielka.
    • 60' Everton are furious and both Jelavic and Neville argue with Kevin Friend over that one; the official is trying to calm everyone down, though I'm not sure his wave of yellow cards is working...
    • 59' Yet more yellow! Nikica Jelavic goes in the book for sticking an arm in the face of Ivan Ramis off the ball.
    • 58' Leighton Baines has just gone into the box for an unintentional body check on James McCarthy - the England defender is baffled and furious with the ref about that one. Didn't seem malicious, but the ref is trying to calm things down.
    • 57' Half chance for Wigan - Beausejour tries a lofted curling cross in from the left that finds di Santo, who bets Seamus Coleman in the air to get his head on it at the far post, but can only guide it wide off to the right.
    • 56' Neville takes the free kick but it's headed clear and the danger is over. McCarthy complained about his punishment, but the way he hauled down Mirallas was shameless.
    • 55' McCarthy gets a yellow card for a cynical shove, and it's a free kick, dead centre, 40 yards out.
    • 54' Another terrific chance for Everton, and it's Mirallas again! Baines loses the ball but it falls to the Belgian on the edge of the box, who fires low and to the right corner - only to see Al Habsi turn it around the post with a diving save.
    • 53' Everton really starting to take charge of this match right now, looking much more like the side who are sitting second in the table.
    • 52' SO CLOSE FOR EVERTON! Baines and Pienaar combine with a perfect one-two on the left flank and Baines delivers the ball across to Mirallas, unmarked in the box... but he can only blaze over from 10 yards! That's a big miss for Everton.
    • 51' Great work by Osman and Jelavic playing an aerial one-two, and Osman gets a shot away - put it's over the bar.
    • 50' Slower pace in the match so far in this second half, with both teams seemingly looking to keep things a little tighter through the middle of the park. Everton on the ball now, with Pienaar looking for space.
    • 49' The last four times Wigan have gone ahead in this fixture they've gone on to lose (twice) and draw (twice). Everton will be desperate to make that five times.
    • 48' Baines whips it in but Emmerson Boyce is there to head clear.
    • 47' Early chance for Everton as Mirallas forces a corner - Baines will take.
    • 46' The teams are back out on the pitch for the second half, with Heitinga coming off at half time and Sylvain Distin coming on in his place.
    • 45'+2 The players kick the ball around half-heartedly for the added minutes, with all 22 men clearly ready to take a break after the drama. Cracking football match so far, and while Wigan lead 2-1 this is still anyone's game.
    • 45' What a half of this football we've had here at the DW Stadium... two extra minutes to play before we can all have a break to calm down.
    • 44' Only a yellow - but considering that he clearly aimed his arm at Figueroa's face as they both jumped up for a ball, that could easily have been red. Considering that Fellaini should already have had at least a yellow for kicking out at Gary Caldwell earlier, he's lucky to be on the pitch.
    • 43' Fellaini is in trouble here - Figueroa went down, and it was an elbow from the crazy-haired one.
    • 42' Everton hit the post! It's Baines, making a darting run into the box from the left, beating Ramis to get to the ball and trying to slot in at the near post - but the ball rebounds off the woodwork, and Fellaini is agonising inches away from being able to knock it in to the empty net.
    • 42' Wigan still keeping it tight at the back as Everton hang on to the ball patiently, looking for gaps.
    • 41' The corner is cleared but Everton get the ball back quickly, and will move forwards again.
    • 40' Everton get the ball back and Mirallas tries to make a break, being forced wide and eventually trying a shot from just outside the box that is on target, and forces a diving stop from Al Habsi. Corner.
    • 39' The free kick ends up being played along the ground across the box, but Caldwell is there to step in and reclaim it for Wigan.
    • 38' Everton press Wigan back after the corner, and Pienaar eventually steals the ball, winning a free kick as he's tackled by McArthur.
    • 37' Kone holds the ball up well before the reinforcements arrive, and after a few more pinging passes Maloney gets a chance that is headed clear for a corner by Jagielka.
    • 36' Nice build-up work from Everton to get into the box, but Figueroa pops up to clear - and he's released Kone on the break again.
    • 35' Wigan come on the break but Phil Neville ends their momentum by giving away a throw-in. Sensible move by the Everton stalwart.
    • 34' Al Habsi collects the free kick that is lumped into the box, and Wigan are beginning to look as solid at the back as they have dangerous up front.
    • 33' Free kick for Everton as Figueroa brings down Jelavic - though the Everton striker's pirouette dive was a bit over the top.
    • 32' That's up there with the best saves of the season so far - Al Habsi looked like he would surely be undone by the deflection, his change of direction was outstanding.
    • 31' Magical save by Al Habsi! Absolutely incredible stuff: Leon Osman makes a great run, cutting into the Wigan box and firing a shot that takes an evil deflection, but the Wigan keeper's arching backwards dive is just enough to push the ball over.
    • 30' The long build-up finally sees Maloney in space on the ball just outside the box, but he drags his shot, catching studs in the turf, and it dribbles off for a goal kick.
    • 29' Everton try to move up the right flank but Figueroa steps in to claim the ball back, and Wigan now start moving it around as if they're Barcelona on the training ground.
    • 28' Another break for Wigan, and Kone delivers a ball that almost puts di Santo through once again; Baines makes a desperate clearance, but Everton are on the ropes.
    • 27' Seeing Wigan in action today it's hard to see how they've only scored five goals before today...
    • 26' Wigan nearly go 3-1 up! Di Santo - clearly bursting with confidence - picks up the ball on the left, cuts inside and unleashes a stinging shot from just outside the box which Tim Howard does well to turn around the right post.
    • 25' Pienaar comes up the left and tries a ball to the far post - almost a carbon copy of the ball flight that ended with Jelavic scoring earlier, this time Al Habsi is there to take it.
    • 24' Kone and di Santo have both been outstanding so far for Wigan - but full credit to Caldwell for picking out Kone from at least 40 yards.
    • 23' GOAL! 2-1 TO WIGAN! Big clearance upfield from Caldwell finds Kone in space, who does brilliantly to beat Heitinga, burst into the box and cut it back to where di Santo is waiting to blast into the roof of the net! Fabulous goal on the break by Wigan.
    • 22' The corner is finally taken and it comes out to Mirallas, who gets off a shot that deflects tamely off for a goal kick.
    • 21' Yet more shoving before the corner is taken with the ref having a word, and Fellaini is lucky to get away without lashing out at Caldwell with a kick.
    • 20' The free kick takes an age to be taken, wuth Fellaini and Caldwell shoving and pushing in the box as if they're having a playground scrap.
    • 19' The free kick is headed straight out for a corner.
    • 18' Everton come up the pitch for the first time in a while, and Shaun Maloney gets a yellow for shoving Baines - very harsh decision, though it was a foul.
    • 17' Wigan looking the better of the two sides right now, with di Santo in particular getting everywhere.
    • 16' A free kick for Wigan now, with Beausejour to take from the left flank - but while it's a good ball in, neither di Santo nor Ramis can quite latch on to it.
    • 15' Wigan come up again and Boyce hooks a floating ball in from the right to di Santo, but he's penalised for a push in the box.
    • 14' Replays show that Kone was indeed offside for Wigan's goal, though his movement was so quick to charge upfield after starting the move that you can see how the assistant missed it.
    • 13' Beausejour takes the corner and finds Boyce, but his header is a glancing blow that runs well wide and off for a goal kick.
    • 12' What a start to the match! Wigan come straight forward once more from the start and win a corner.
    • 11' GOAL FOR EVERTON! Everton have barely stopped grumbling about a potential Kone offside in the Wigan goal when they break forward from the restart, and a wild shot from Leon Osman deflects high and wide to the back post - where Nikica Jelavic is waiting to nod home! 1-1!
    • 10' GOAL FOR WIGAN! Magnificent control from Kone in midfield sees him put Maloney clear on the left - Maloney beats two men and crosses, and Kone is there to nod in!
    • 9' Lively stuff so far - Wigan try another break up the left, di Santo looking dangerous...
    • 8' Wigan hit on the break, and a perfect pass from di Santo puts Kone in on goal - Everton are there to close him down though, with Heitinga making the critical tackle as he comes into the box.
    • 7' Lovely ball by Pienaar up the left flank sees Fellaini pick up the ball and cross from the edge of the box - and though Jelavic had space, it's overhit and goes off for a goal kick.
    • 6' First move upfield for Wigan now on the break, with Franco di Santo trying to cut in from the left only to get clattered by Ivan Ramis. Ref says play on, and the danger is over.
    • 5' Half chance for Everton as the Toffees win a throw deep in the Wigan half; Fellaini takes it quickly, but Figueroa intercepts before it gets to Jelavic.
    • 4' Baines lofts the free kick into the box but it's nowhere near any of the black shirts and the home side clear the danger calmly.
    • 3' Everton take control of the ball and bring it forward, but McCarthy steps in to clear the ball - only to give away a foul just inside the Wigan half moments later.
    • 2' Cagey opening exchanges so far, with the teams pinging it around in midfield.
    • 1' We're under way in brilliant sunshine at the DW Stadium.
    • 14:59 Wigan win the toss and will kick off...
    • 14:58 Cheerful smiles between Moyes and Martinez as they shake hands warmly on the touchline. Not sure what joke they were sharing but looks like it was a good one.
    • 14:55 The teams come out onto the pitch, with Wigan in their usual blue and white stripes while Everton play in an all-black second strip that works particularly well to complement Fellaini's magnificent barnet.
    • 14:50 The bookies are not convinced about that, howerver: Everton are evens to win, with Wigan 3-1 and the draw 12-5.
    • 14:48 On top of that recent decent form, Wigan had another boost this week when the man who got sent off at Sunderland - Jordi Gomez - had the decision overturned by the FA. Of course manager Roberto Martinez has also just been fined £10k for shooting his mouth off about a ref, but maybe things are beginning to turn for the Latics.
    • 14:45 Despite their recent struggles and Everton's success, this could be a good moment for the Latics to turn things round: though they lost their last Premier League outing against Sunderland they did at least play well (despite being down to 10 men), while a few days before that they walloped West Ham 4-1 away in whatever the League Cup is called this season.
    • 14:40 Last time Everton started a season this well (13 points after six games) they made it into the top four to qualify for the Champions League. Though probably best not to talk about how that went for them.
    • 14:35 By contrast Everton are enjoying their best-ever start to a Premier League season, thanks in large part to magnificent midfield displays by Steven Pienaar and Kevin Mirallas, and the devastating Marouane Fellaini tearing teams apart.
    • 14:30 The omens look pretty awful for Wigan today: not only have they won just once this season, they've beaten Everton just once in their last 13 attempts in the league. Even the last four times that they've scored first against the Toffees, Everton have twice come back to win and twice rescued a draw.
    • 14:25 TEAMS - Wigan: Al Habsi, Kone, McCarthy, Caldwell, Di Santo, Maloney, McArthur, Boyce, Ramis, Beausejour, Figueroa. Subs: Pollitt, Jones, Watson, Gomez, McManaman, Boselli, Miyaichi. //// Everton: Howard, Baines, Heitinga, Jagielka, Jealvic, Mirallas, Neville (c), Pienaar, Osman, Coleman, Fellaini. Subs: Mucha, Oviedo, Naismith, Distin, Gueye, Anichebe, Duffy
    • 14:20 Everton come to the DW Stadium in second place in the table having won four of their first six matches, while Wigan have lost four of their openers and sit down in 16th spot. Premier League table
