    • Tottenham Hotspur
    • 90+3' Full time. Poor old Newcastle.
    • 90+2' Townsend has so much time after Soldado squares, and his shot is deflected behind for a corner. Spurs waste time in the corner.
    • 90+1' Three minutes left of this. Cisse looks unhappy.
    • 88' GOAL! Newcastle 0-4 Spurs. Chadli with a great goal. He receives the ball on the corner of the box, shifts it right with one touch, and curls into the top corner.
    • 87' Sissoko rounds Lloris, lays the ball off to Marveaux but Lloris is back quickly enough to save his shot.
    • 86' Newcastle are falling apart again, just after Pardew had managed to get them back into form after the last collapse.
    • 84' Soldado replaces Adebayor.
    • 82' GOAL! Newcastle 0-3 Spurs. Adebayor again. Townsend has the ball after a Paulinho pass right. He slams a shot high at the goal, palmed upwards by Krul, and Adebayor lashes the rebound into the goal.
    • 81' Kaboul, oddly high up on the right wing, finds Bentaleb, who shoots from 30 yards out, and it's well over the bar.
    • 80' A cross from the right for Cisse, and he heads down into Lloris' legs. Either side and he probably would have scored.
    • 79' Dumett sends in a cross that is cut out by Kaboul for a corner, that's taken shot and headed away.
    • 77' Chadli's cross towards Adebayor is cleared and Cisse breaks down the left. His pass down the line for Dummett is overhit, and Spurs have a throw on the right with Walker.
    • 75' Lennon is replaced by Chadli.
    • 74' Spurs clear the corner. Another cross comes back in for Debuchy, and his header towards goal is brilliantly tipped over by Lloris. The corner is cleared.
    • 73' Gouffran cuts in from the right, and his swirling shot is palmed away for a corner. That came out of nowhere.
    • 71' Marveaux replaces Ameobi.
    • 70' Dummett charges down the left, after getting to a chipped ball from Ameobi. He shoots across goal, and Lloris gets a finger too it, but they don't get a corner.
    • 69' Dummett sends a Bebe-esque cross out to the opposite side of the pitch.
    • 68' This game appears to have died. Or it appears dying. I'm not sure which.
    • 66' Ben Arfa takes, but Spurs clear as far as Sissoko. He finds Ben Arfa, who drives towards the byline and just overruns it.
    • 65' Ben Arfa tries to slip in Dummett down the left, and Townsend is across quickly to turn it behind for a corner.
    • 64' Dembele is replaced by Townsend. Dembele seems to have strained something.
    • 63' De Jong, who has been OK but no more, is replaced by Ben Arfa.
    • 62' Bentaleb goes in late on Debuchy, and Debuchy performs a dive that is even more theatrical than a Saurez special. It is utterly ludicrous.
    • 61' Kaboul returns to the pitch and doesn't seem terribly hurt anymore.
    • 59' Bentaleb finds Lennon but he's tackled quickly. Spurs swiftly win the ball back, and then Bentaleb blasts the ball out of play so Kaboul can receive treatment.
    • 58' And now Newcastle have it back again. Gouffran has room on the left for a cross, but it's deflected behind for a corner. In the crowd, Newcastle's fans look hugely fed up. Williamson gets to the corner but it falls to a Spurs player and they break.
    • 57' Kaboul eases De Jong off the ball and hits it long, but Ameobi wins it back and then sends a loose ball forward, and now Spurs have it again.
    • 56' Spurs come again with Bentaleb, but passes off to Adebayor and the move breaks down.
    • 53' GOAL! Newcastle 0-2 Spurs. Paulinho scores. Adebayor has the ball after Paulinho flicks it back to him. His shot from outside the box is well saved initially by Krul, but it's out into the path of Paulinho and he slots the ball past the 'keeper.
    • 51' Gouffran's free kick is cleared by Adebayor. A muted start so far for the second half.
    • 50' Gouffran tries to slide a ball forward, but it's collected and Spurs attempt a break. Newcastle come back up the other end and win a free kick just over the edge of the halfway line.
    • 48' Sissoko is found by Gouffran down the right, and his low cross clips of Vertonghen's ankle and towards Lloris.
    • 47' Another one for Cisse to chase, but Lloris rushes out and heads - yes - away for a throw. Spurs win the ball back and punt it high up the pitch, and a Newcastle defender sends a ball for Gouffran straight out of play.
    • 46' Santon has been replaced by Dummet. The second half begins.
    • 45+1' There's a minute of added time, just as Lloris stoops low to collect a low shot straight at him after Santon has a shot. That's half-time. See you in 15 minutes.
    • 44' A rare moment of piece, but neither side is exactly trying to keep the ball for longer than two or three seconds. Walker concedes a foul on Santon as Santon tries to shepherd the ball out of play.
    • 42' Sissoko aims a bal between the defence for Cisse, but Kaboul clears for a throw.
    • 41' Spurs are playing in front of the Newcastle defence, trying to find an opening, but they can't quite get room for a shot.
    • 40' Sissoko bursts through the middle, swaps a pass with De Jong on the edge of the box, and he tries a shot from the edge of the box, well over the goal.
    • 39' Debuchy collects a long ball forward aimed at Adebayor, and they're harried by Spurs in their own half.
    • 38' Gouffran has space on the right, time to cross, but his cross is blocked for a corner. The first is put behind for another corner, and Santon's second delivery is headed away at the near post.
    • 37' Kaboul hits a low pass forward that skids all the way to Krul. Spurs quickly win the ball back, but the move breaks down and now Sissoko starts an attack for Newcastle.
    • 35' Williamson is found at the back post, he heads it up into the air, Paulinho heads away for Ameobi to collect and send his shot from the edge of the box well wide of goal.
    • 34' Lennon trips Debuchy on the left wing, and Newcastle have a free kick just over the halfway line.
    • 33' Gouffran sends in a high cross from the right, and it sails out for a goal kick. Gouffran seems a much better player on the end of moves than he does when he's trying to provide assists.
    • 32' The corner comes out to Naughton, lurking outside the box, and he sends his shot well over the bar.
    • 31' Adebayor switches the ball left to Lennon, who cuts in on his right foot, and he sends a low shot against the side of the post thanks to a Krul save.
    • 30' Another long ball for Cisse to chase, and Lloris is out to claim it quickly.
    • 29' The cross is wasted, and Spurs easily clear.
    • 28' Sissoko breaks down the left, but Dembele is back to cover. Then, Santon is found on the left by Sissoko and Walker clips him to the ground and Newcastle have a free kick.
    • 27' Debuchy's tackled by Naughton on the left, and Lennon receives the ball, and his ball forward is blocked and out for a throw on the left wing.
    • 26' Cisse is found by an Ameobi chip of the top. Cisse attempts to lob the oncoming Lloris, but he lifts the ball high and wide, and Spurs get lucky.
    • 24' Adebayor finds Walker steaming down the right, and his pace allows him to reach it. He slides the ball across goal to the incoming Lennon, but Williamson slides to the ball, and Adebayor is tackled just as he reached the loose ball. The corner then drifts out for a goal kick.
    • 23' Bentaleb and Anita have a few nibbles at one another, but luckily they manage to repair the relationship swiftly.
    • 22' At Fulham, Liverpool have gone a goal down.
    • 21' Spurs continue to hound Newcastle, and they panic at every opportunity.
    • 20' Ameobi attempts to hit back, charging down the inside left, but his shot is blocked by Kaboul.
    • 19' GOAL! Newcastle 0-1 Spurs. Adebayor scores. Debuchy does well to win possession high up the pitch but loses the ball with a chipped ball towards Cisse. Bentaleb breaks down the left wing, sends in a cross between defence and keeper. Krul flaps at the ball haplessly, diverting it into the path of Adebayor, whose instinctive tap at the ball sends it into an empty net.
    • 17' Paulinho robs Santon in midfield, who breaks forward. He finds Adebayor who loses the ball, but Spurs keep the pressure on. Eventually Bentaleb curls a cross into the arms of Krul.
    • 16' Ameobi gets to the byline on the left wing, and sends over a poor cross that drifts behind for a Lloris goal kick.
    • 14' Santon trips Walker on the opposite side of the pitch as the Newcastle free kick. Walker takes and Vertonghen reaches the ball at the back post, but heads wide of the goal.
    • 13' The corner is poorly flapped away by Lloris, and Spurs struggle to clear properly, taking all kinds of headers and swipes to eventually get into Newcastle's half.
    • 12' Capoue goes in late on Gouffran, and Newcastle have a free kick on the right wing, 45 yards out. The ball is chipped towards De Jong at the back post but Kaboul puts it out for a corner.
    • 11' Cisse breaks down the middle but he's tackled and Newcastle have a throw. This is a relatively uneventful period of the match.
    • 9' Spurs are pressing the Newcastle defence high up the pitch, and Krul is being forced into some hasty clearances.
    • 8' A long free kick is aimed towards De Jong, who headed the ball across goal and Lloris saves brilliant to block Cisse's effort and eventually Spurs clear.
    • 7' A reverse pass is fizzed forward for Adebayor, but it's strongly hit, beyond Adebayor and out for a goal kick.
    • 6' Santon dithers in possession, and Dembele tackles him. the ball runs to Paulinho on the edge of the six yard box, and he blasts a powerful shot into the corner that Krul does well to beat away. Spurs can't do anything from the corner.
    • 5' Chance for Spurs. Dembele squeezes down the right, and behind Santon, he pulls the ball back for Adebayor whose shot is deflected just wide by Anita. Williamson clears the corner.
    • 4' Spurs play the ball around their defence, and Newcastle press them when in possession.
    • 3' Newcastle's first attack sees a Sissoko cross from the right cleared, and a long-range Debuchy shot blocked.
    • 2' Spurs have started brightest, but haven't created any clear chances yet. Newcastle's biggest weakness is their defence, so it would make sense for Spurs to put the pressure on whenever they can.
    • 1' Spurs have three in midfield, and they fail to score in the first minute. Sherwood out!
    • 19:40 Five minutes to kick off, so let's have a prediction. Newcastle will score two and Mild Cheddar won't score at all. 2-0 to the home side. Feel free to send your predictions to @lxndrnthrtn.
    • 19:35 Spurs have Big Daddy Kane on the subs bench, which is an interesting move. Given that he's an ageing US rapper, it's a surprise that he got a work permit, and also that he passed the medical. It'll be interesting to see if he can play the game as well as he can spit it.
    • 19:30 If you would like to get in touch with me on Twitter then you can do so at @lxndrnthrtn. Keep it clean, and I might even reply. Imagine the pride!
    • 19:25 When Sherwood says they will always attract the biggest named players, I can only assume he means the players with the names that have the most letters in them. Spurs can attract some very good players, obviously, but unless they have regular Champions League football they will always have to sell them when bigger clubs take a fancy. So a win tonight is an important step in keeping in touch with Liverpool, in fourth.
    • 19:20 Tim Sherwood (Tottenham): "Tottenham is a massive football club and will always attract the biggest named players. If they are coming here to build and progress with the side they are going to pick Tottenham. There are other clubs where they could go and sit on the bench for a period of time and pick up championship medals, but it isn't something I would have wanted to do (when I was a player). The club sells itself, it is far bigger than any manager. "
    • 19:15 Alan Pardew, there, talking about himself, which is obviously a rare occurence for the gentleman. Newcastle got tonked by Chelsea at the weekend but I don't think they played especially badly (nor well, admittedly). Eden Hazard was hugely impressive, and Oscar and Samuel Eto'o played well around him, too. Spurs don't have any players of similar quality to worry the Newcastle defence.
    • 19:10 Alan Pardew (Newcastle): "'I try to be consistent through the ups and downs of the emotion that is in this city at times. Some of it is over the top, there's no doubt about that. For me, it's very difficult to sometimes isolate myself and concentrate on what's important. But usually, nine times out of 10, it's the next game and I'm pretty good at focusing my mind. I have got pretty narrow vision when it comes to the job at hand."
