90+5
What a chance – McCarthy has an effort blocked at the death and that is that. Full time.
90+5

Sturridge thinks he won it but he was offside – what a finish here.
90+4
Suarez with an incredible snap-shot volley from the edge that Howard manages to push wide.
90+3
Everton now press.
90+2
Poor ball but Suarez collects the loose one and crosses for Moses who gets there before Howard but his header is over.
90+1
Moses win a free-kick down the right – Gerrard to sling the ball in. Four minutes of added time.
90'
Can the visitors nick it?
89'

GOAL!! Incredible. Sturridge glances a header past Howard from a Gerrard free-kick down the right.
88'

Osman on for Mirallas.
Everton Substitution
87'
Chelsea must be cursing sending him on loan.

3 - Romelu Lukaku has scored in his last three Premier League appearances against Liverpool. Target.

86'
Everton have scored three goals in a top-flight Merseyside derby for only the second time since August 1966 – also the 3-0 PL home win, September 2006.
85'
Mirallas cuts in from the edge but his shot is straight down the throat of the keeper.
84'
Six of Daniel Sturridge’s nine Premier League career goals when coming on as substitute have been scored in the 87th minute or later – with four of those coming in injury-time. (Infostrada)
83'
Is the comeback complete? Sturridge on the post – he may be disappointed he didn’t head that one clear.
Everton Substitution
82'

GOOAL!! Lukaku rises highest to head the corner into the corner of the net. What a leap.
81'
Deulofeu shows great feet down the left but his ball is cleared for a corner.
80'
Henderson with a really, really loose ball. Deulofeu is in down the left and looks to find the opposite corner but Mignolet saves.
Liverpool Substitution
79'

Sturridge on for Lucas. SAS on the pitch – can they garb the winner?
78'
Liverpool’s turn to stream forward and Gerrard finds Suarez at the back post but Howard makes a miraculous save.
77'
Everton break at pace now but in a three on one situation, Lukaku plays it square to one of the Liverpool defenders.
76'
Liverpool’s turn to press. Johnson is away down the right but his cross is blocked. Corner.
75'
Romelu Lukaku scores against Liverpool for the third consecutive PL match, the first time he has scored against the same opponent in three different PL matches (he has won the previous two). (Infostrada)
74'
Mirallas tangles with Lucas and they are both on a yellow – either could have been sent off there in another game.
73'
The decibel levels are back to deafening level now as Sturridge warms up.
72'

GOAL!! Lukaku with it. From Mignolet’s save, Everton work it wide and the cross from the left finds Lukaku on the penalty spot and he fires home.
72'
Lukaku takes the free-kick – it is deflected and Mignolet pushes it wide of goal.
71'
Barkley is having more of an impact again now – he draws a foul from Lucas.
70'
Mignolet again. Barkley slides a pass between Flanagan and Agger and into the run of Lukaku, who shoots first time and the keeper blocks with his feet.
69'
Moses for Allen.
Liverpool Substitution
68'
Barkley, who has been quiet this half, receives the ball and takes aim but it is high and wide from an angle and thirty-odd yards out.
67'
That’s late from Lucas and he is in the book. Rightly so and Everton have a free kick in a dangerous area – 30 yards out but they play it short.
66'
Liverpool readying Moses.
65'
Liverpool have now scored at least twice in 11 of their last 14 PL matches at Everton. (Infostrada)
64'
Lukaku wins a corner from Skrtel but Liverpool defend it well.
63'
Lukaku puts pressure on Skrtel who plays a loose one forward – Pienaar slips the ball in behind and Lukaku is in. Mignolet comes out Schmeichel-esque to smoother the effort. Big chance.
62'
Wild effort from McCarthy flies high and wide.
61'

Allen in the book for a wild swipe on Mirallas.
60'
What is the category above sitter? Because whatever it is, Allen has just missed it. The ball breaks to the midfielder inside the box and he has two options: slide the ball past Howard or square to Suarez for a tap in. He inexplicably calmly slides it wide.
59'
Apparently, Henderson stamped on his toe.

2008 - Leighton Baines has been substituted off in a Premier League game for the first time since September 2008 (Everton v Hull). Stalwart.

58'
A great move from Everton culminates in Johnson having to clear at the back post with two Everton players ready to pounce. Corner.
57'
Coutinho shows a great sleight of foot on the edge of the box to meander his way through a couple of challenges but the ball gets caught under his feet and Everton clear.
56'
Liverpool keeping the ball well before a heavy pass from Johnson infuriates Gerrard as Liverpool were in there.
55'
Suarez goes down under the challenge of Distin but that is never a penalty.
54'
One straight ball sees Deulofeu fly forward at pace through the middle of the Liverpool defence but his effort is smothered by Mignolet - that came from a Liverpool throw in the far corner.
53'
Roberto Martinez is winless in four PL matches against teams managed by Brendan Rodgers (D1-L3). However, Rodgers is winless in the PL as a manager against Everton (D2-L2). (Infostrada)
52'
Deulofeu is looking bright and he skips past Johnson but his cross is too deep.
51'
Everton stream forward with Coleman who finds the sub Deulofeu but he tries to be too intricate on the edge and the chance has gone.
50'

Baines is off with Deulofeu on in his stead.
Everton Substitution
49'
Mirallas, what are you doing? He is challenged – fairly by Suarez – and lands on the Uruguayan but it looks like he tried to leave something on the forward.
48'
Baines is set to be replaced it appears – his importance can’t be understated to this Everton team.
47'
Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 42 Premier League matches when leading at half-time (35 wins, seven draws), in a run stretching back almost exactly three years. Their last PL defeat when leading at half-time was their 2-1 loss at Tottenham on November 28th 2010. (Infostrada)
46'
And we are off!
45+3
And that's the last action of the half.
45+2
The Pienaar-Baines axis in full flow there. Baines finds the South African in the left channel and he returns the ball into the run of the England full-back just inside the box. He thrashes at it though and it is wide.
45
Three minutes of the added stuff here.
44'
Lukaku is in behind Johnson but Agger comes across to mop up – great play there from the Dane. Liverpool defend the corner well.
43'
Everton, who were flying forward with abandon early on, are struggling here and Coutinho steals the ball from Coleman and looks for Suarez. It is covered though.
42'
Gerrard is now late and high on Barry. The Everton players claiming he led with the elbow but it is just a free-kick. Nothing doing there and rightly so.
41'
He did appear to get off the field help in making that decision – video referee anybody?

Amazing that Phil Dowd required so much time and apparent off-field guidance yet still failed to send off Mirallas. #EFC #LFC

40'
Agger is allowed to bring the ball out but, with time and space, his lofted pass forward is too straight and out for a goal-kick.
39'
Liverpool finishing the half the stronger here.
38'
Lukaku works the channels but a loose ball sees Liverpool break with Coutinho, who slips a ball to Flanagan. The full-back is scythed down by McCarthy.
37'
The foul has seen a stark improvement in the intensity levels from Liverpool who stream forward but the ball from Suarez has too much on it.
36'
Gerrard clips the free-kick in but it as far, far too deep and Howard comes to claim.
35'

It is a yellow card for Mirallas after three minutes of waiting – that’s a contentious one. There are visible stud marks on Suarez’s knee.
34'
Suarez is down and remains down.
33'
It is kicking off as Dowd makes his mind up on the retribution for that challenge.
32'
Mirallas is late and high on Suarez – this could be a red.
31'
What did you make of Suarez’s strike? Here it is in giffing glory:

GIF: Here's the only angle you'll need of Luis Suarez's free kick vs. Everton #lfc http://t.co/BdSPmkKWx1

30'
Sturridge is warming up on the touchline – although Liverpool lead they have been second best.
30'

Barkley, who has been fantastic, is in the book for theatrical dive on the edge.
29'
Suarez continues to defend from the front as he forces Distin back to Howard who lashes forward.
28'
Barkley receives the ball on the half-turn and evades a flailing Liverpool challenge but, slightly unbalanced, his effort is always rising.
27'
Suarez is working so hard but this time Distin sees him off before ushering the ball out for a goal-kick.
26'
Mirallas has the beating of Flanagan all day long – this time he skips past the youngster before whistling an effort past the post from an angle.
25'
A great game thus far but both managers will have been disappointed by the nature of the goals conceded.

Brilliant free kick by Suarez puts Liverpool 2-1 up. Three set piece goals and counting.........

24'
Suarez wins a corner after a quick break. Gerrard slings it in but it is cleared.
23'
Allen is fouled at the corner and Liverpool break.
22'
Lukaku! Oh my. What an effort from the Belgian. He whips a tremendous curling effort that is sneaking in bottom right but Mignolet reacts magnificently to get a hand to it and push around the post. Corner.
21'
He is deadly that boy.

9 - Luis Suarez has scored nine goals in his seven Premier League appearances this season. Deadly.

20'
Sensational strike. What curl on that but the wall has to have questions asked of it there.
19'

GOOAL! What a free-kick. Suarez makes it two for Liverpool.
18'
After a slight hiatus as they decide who will take it, Suarez steps up.
17'
Liverpool string some decent passes together before Suarez draws a foul from Barry some 30 yards out and right of centre. Gerrard and Suarez territory this.
16'
Everton again make inroads down the Liverpool left – this time the cross is over-hit. Liverpool need to stem that flow.
15'
Barkley, on the other hand, is having a stormer as he jinks down the right but his cross is blocked.
14'
Henderson and Allen need to impose themselves on the game here.
13'
We have the first bit of respite for both sides as Everton stroke the ball around their back four.
12'
The game is passing the Liverpool midfield by here and this time Gerrard gets caught in midfield by Pienaar who feeds Lukaku in on goal. Mignolet does extremely well to make the save at the Belgian’s feet. The ball ricochets off the striker for a goal kick.
11'
Everton have a corner and, while it is hacked clear, the hosts are hugely in the ascendancy.
10'
This is a ferocious start.
9'
Baines, Lukaku and Pienaar zip the ball around wonderfully well in the left channel but the cross is cleared.
8'

GOOALL!! Baines swings the free-kick over with some delightful whip. The ball breaks to Mirallas, who gets to the ball before Mignolet to stab home.
7'
Everton, to their credit, play the ball around sharply right after that goal. Barkley draws a foul from Lucas some 40 yards out.
6'
Incredible. That was Liverpool’s first foray forward – what a blow.
5'

GOOOAL!! Suarez flicks on Gerrard’s corner to Coutinho, who is in acres of space. He takes a touch on the edge of the six-yard box and pokes past Howard.
5'
Everton have Liverpool pinned right back here but Coutinho wins a free-kick. It is played short to Gerrard, who looks for the space in behind Coleman. Cleared for a corner.
4'
McCarthy marauds forward down the right before slipping the ball wide to Lukaku – his cross is hacked clear.
3'
Barkley, selected ahead of Osman today, looks to get in behind but the ball from Pienaar has too much on it and it runs out for a goal kick.
2'
Everton kick-off and begin with some neat passing before Howard leathers one forward.
1'
With the pleasantries done and dusted against an almighty din from the home faithful, Phil Dowd gives his whistle a toot and the 221st Merseyside derby is off and running.

Liverpool are the marginal favourites - Everton 9/5, Liverpool 7/5, Draw 12/5. But this is a derby. Almost game time.
12:35
Right, so what do you make of all that? Let me know on twitter @mmjfoley or @EurosportCom_EN or post a comment below.
12:30
Steven Gerrard starts despite carrying an injury and Brendan Rodgers’ praise has been glowing: "It's very simple; he's a brilliant professional. He is someone that manages his body really well - he knows he's got a superb medical team here to support that. The training methodology helps him because he's working in different spaces and different exercises on a daily basis. That takes away a lot of impact and physicality. He just manages himself really well. He knows his body."
12:25
Today marks Roberto Martinez’s first Merseyside derby but he was at pains to underline he understands its importance: "(The kit room) told me it’s more than a game. That it can be significant for players who do something in the derby then had a great platform at the club. It’s certain aspects that have nothing to do with a normal game. It’s what it means to the fans and how we can use that to our advantage. I can tell it’s going to be special. I’m really excited."
12:20
Alas, no Premier League fixture has ended 0-0 more often than Liverpool v Everton (7) but here’s hoping that today’s fixture will fall into the category of memroable.
12:15
If there is any man who can prise a goal from that Everton defence then it must be Luis Suarez, who has scored eight goals in his six Premier League appearances this season - averaging a goal every 67 minutes. The Uruguayan has also scored in his last two PL apps at Goodison Park.
12:10
To counter that, Everton are in a great run of form. The Toffees have lost just one of their last 11 Premier League games (W5 D5), and are currently on a run of five hours and 30 minutes without conceding a goal in the Premier League.
12:05
So Liverpool have been struck by some key injuries but recent history favours them in this fixture - they have lost just one of their last 13 Merseyside derbies in the Premier League (W7 D5 L1).
12:00
Left-back Jose Enrique has been ruled out with a knee injury which requires surgery so Jon Flanagan comes in for the 221st Merseyside derby. Striker Daniel Sturridge has been struggling with a dead leg and, while that did not prevent him playing 90 minutes for England against Germany in midweek, he is only fit enough for the bench. Philippe Coutinho slots in behind Luis Suarez. Captain Steven Gerrard plays through a hip problem.
11:55
Everton have no fresh injury concerns. Defenders Antolin Alcaraz (hernia) and Tony Hibbert (calf) are both available after long lay-offs but neither are risked. While Striker Arouna Kone (knee) and midfielder Darron Gibson (knee) are long-term casualties. Romelu Lukaku leads the line for the hosts with Kevin Mirallas and Steven Pienaar either side - in what looks like Everton's strongest eleven.
11:50
EVERTON: Howard, Baines, Distin, Jagielka (c), Coleman, Barry, McCarthy, Pienaar, Barkley, Mirallas, Lukaku... Subs: Jones, Toure, Alberto, Moses, Sturridge, Sakho, Sterling.
