We are into four minutes of time added on as Hart collects the Johnson corner. City on the break, but Milner with the miskick in trying to cross.
89'
Ball spins into the path of Nasri, but he clips over from eight yards out with the goal gaping. Should have been the third for City. Breathless finish to this contest.
88'

GOAL! Nasri drives the ball straight at Mannone, who fumbles the ball before it wriggles out of his grasp and rolls into the net. Astonishing error by the Sunderland goalkeeper. 2-2.

Manchester City Substitution
87'
Connor Wickham has now scored double the number of goals tonight than he managed in his entire Premier League career beforehand (one).
86'

Fernandinho departs to be replaced by Jack Rodwell for the home side. All getting a bit desperate now.
85'
Giaccherini with a brilliant piece of play to set up Wickham. City fans can't really believe what is going on out there.
84'
This could be the end of City's title challenge right here and now. Have looked flat, and look to be heading for defeat. Sunderland boosting their title survival hopes.
83'
GOAL! Wickham smashes the ball into the corner of the net after a brilliant break. Hart couldn't make the stop. A 2-1 lead for Sunderland. Suddenly three points on the cards for the Premier League's bottom club.
Sunderland Goal

Right Footed - Bottom Right

82'
Colback late on Milner out wide. Nasri with the free-kick. Javi Garcia just failing to connect. City running out of time.
80'
Kolarov dances into the Sunderland box. Brilliant cutback, but Dzek spins back before knocking the ball well wide of goal. Agonising stuff for City.
79'
Brown across quickly to block the effort by Jovetic. Concerned faces on the City bench. Particularly from Augero. This isn't going to script.
78'
O'Shea with a timely clearance after some bright play moving forward by Jovetic. City have toiled to get out of second gear this evening. No Silva and Augero has proved to be a problem.
77'
Dzeko tries to find Zabaleta, but he ends up knocking the ball straight out of play. Poor really from him.
76'
The City fans looking far from content. Could their Premier League dream be heading down the pan here? Jovetic drives the ball wide from distance.
75'
Three points could be on the cards for City the way this match is working out. Milner with a cross from out wide, but the ball speeds out of play.
74'
Connor Wickham scores his first goal of the season (10 matches), and only his second ever Premier League goal - his first cine 29 October 2011, when he scored in a 1-1 draw at home to Aston Villa.
73'
Can't really say that Sunderland haven't deserved this. Have always been in this game, and they get their rewards for keeping pushing at it.

GOAL! Wickham tucks the ball into the net from a gorgeous cross by Giaccherini. Brilliant move and finish. 1-1 now. Would you believe this?
71'

70'
Zabaleta sees a cross cut out by a visiting shirt. And on we go here with City clinging to this 1-0 lead.
69'
Real energy on the thrown-in from Wickham, but Brown powers a header over the bar from 18 yards. Too far out to do anything with that.

Milner smashes a volley miles over the bar from the Nasri delivery. Was 12 yards out, but couldn't keep the ball down in the end.
63'
Alonso with a late challenge on Milner out wide. Nasri is going to throw over a free-kick.
62'
Jovetic decides to unload a shot at goal from distance, but Mannone is quickly down to his left to make a timely stop.
60'
Ba and Giaccherini are warming up while Ignacio Scocco is another option for the visiting side.
59'
Larsson tries to chip Hart from miles out. Was an audacious attempt, but was always sailing over the bar.
58'
Sunderland have now failed to keep a clean sheet for the sixth Premier League match in a row. Only three clubs have kept fewer clean sheets than Sunderland (8) this season - Cardiff (7), West Brom (6), and Fulham (5).
57'
Nasri throws over a cross, but Jovetic can't land on the end of it. Looks a bit frustrated with that moment.
Manchester City Substitution
56'

Looks like Jovetic is going to be given the nod for the home side as he arrives to replace the injured Aguero, who is obviously feeling the pace. Also has that ankle knock from earlier.
55'
Aguero with the cross from out wide, but the ball is clawed out by Mannone in the visiting goal.
54'
Plenty of ball, but not really hurting the visiting side, who have kept their shape and composure with some ease.
53'
City getting more and more into their passing style that we have all come to expect from them. Kompany knocks a pass out wide to Zabaleta.
52'
Martín Demichelis clatters Borini with a late challenge. Failed to get the tackle right. All wrong in fact.
51'
City just keeping the ball. Sunderland letting the home side play in front of them.
49'
Zabaleta careers into a late tackle on Colback. Can have no complaints about that clal.
48'
Man City have not lost a Premier League home match in which they held the lead at HT since 12 April 2009, when they lost 3-1 to Fulham (1-0 at HT).
47'
Negredo nods over the bar from the Aguero cross. Did he push O'Shea in the back? Suggestions that he might have.
46'
Off we go then for the second period. What can City do in this second half?
45+4'
Nasri drives the ball over the bar. That concludes the action for the first period. A 1-0 lead for the home side. But hardly classic fare so far. All to play for in the second half.
44'
We are into four minutes of time added onto this half.
43'
Milner cross is cut out by Alonso. Some decent defending by the Sunderland man. Did really well to make the block there.
42'
Pellegrini standing with his arms folded. Can't be overly pleased with what he has watched so far with the scoreline 1-0 in the home side's favour.
41'
City have not revelled in utter dominance so far, but seeing a bit more of the ball over past few minutes.
40'
Kolarov on the run for the home side, but he blasts a shot miles over and wide of the target in trying to test Mannone in the Black Cats goal.
39'
Looked slighly clumsy by Wickham. That could easily have been given in favour of the home side.
38'
Wickham seemed to bump Aguero to the ground inside the Sunderland box, but referee Martin Atkinson didn't want to know.
37'
Negredo in a foot race with Santiago Vergini, but he can't keep the ball in out wide. To be fair, the flag was up fairly early.
36'
Milner must be thrilled to be starting tonight such has been his role in being forced to start from the bench so many times this term.
35'
Cattermole doing well to block Negredo before he can hammer a shot at the Sunderland goal.
34'
El Hadji Ba and Emanuele Giaccherini are warming up for the visitors. Will they appear any time soon?
33'
Zabalata back on his feet then which will be a relief to the home side. Sunderland remain well and truly in this contest it must be said.
32'
Alonso and Zabaleta collide as the Sunderland man prepared to pull the trigger from distance. Both men in need of some treatment here.
Sunderland Yellow card

31'
Borini back to prevent Zabaleta on the run. Borini going to be booked for a spot of protesting. Appeared to be fouled on the run. Didn't look like an obvious corner to City.
30'
Sunderland can't be too disturbed about their performance so far in the first period of this contest. Have certainly been lively out there.
29'
Aguero limps slowly back to his feet. The home fans not overly impressed with the damage done to the club's favourite son.
28'
Worrying moments for City with Aguero grounded, and in need of some urgent treatment out there.
27'
Aguero on the deck clutching his leg after Brown's tackle on the Argentina forward. Borini's shot from distance flies a few yards wide of goal.
26'
Alonso sees a cross cut out by Milner. Sunderland again build with some patience as they go across the pitch.
25'
Wickham decides to take Milner out of the action late. City look to build, but Milner flicks a pass straight into the arms of Mannone.
24'
Corner comes to nothing. Poyet out of his technical area trying to urge his men to come up with something a bit special in a match that sees them trail 1-0.
23'
Zabalata with a fine cross, but Brown does just enough to get ahead of Aguero to nudge the ball out of play.
22'
Since Man City's takeover in 2008/09, only Chelsea (42) have had more goals from Brazilian players than Man City (26). Fernandinho is the sixth Brazilian to score for the club in the Premier League.
21'
Probing run and cross by former City man Johnson. Terrific cross, but Kompany on hand to clear the danger. Hart punches clear the Larsson corner. That was solid stuff.
20'
Man City have scored the opening goal in all but three of their Premier League home matches this season (Everton, Liverpool, Chelsea), and only Liverpool (26) have opening the scoring in more Premier League matches than the Manchester club (24) this season (home and away).
19'
The Sunderland fans making themselves heard in the away end. Chance for Borini, but he drives the ball wide from the Johnson pass. Glorious chance not taken for the Black Cats.
18'
Aguero powers a drive a few yards wide of the goal from 25 yards. Mannone happy to see it sail a few yards wide.
17'
Santiago Vergini does well to shake Aguero off the ball. Had to get that tackle spot on. And does. City again on the ball. Rolling it around.
16'
Larsson with a probing free-kick, but excellent stuff from Martín Demichelis to rise and clear above the incoming Wes Brown.
15'
Zabaleta with a diving challenge on Wickham out wide. Rash tackle. Sunderland can again throw in this free-kick.
14'
Fernandinho's goal (1m 52s) is Man City's third-fastest this season, after scoring in the first minute on two occasions previously - Navas against Spurs on 24 Nov (13s), and Dzeko against Man Utd on 25 March (44s).
13'
Larsson with a corner, but O'Shea somehow clears the bar from seven yards. Got up above Kompany, but could not keep the header down. Poyet looking puzzled.
12'
Colback feeds Borini, who sees his attempted cross blocked by Kompany. Solid piece of defending by the Manchester City skipper. As you would expect.
11'
Real chance for City not taken. City would expect there to be more goals in this game for them.
10'
Aguero's effort palmed out by Mannone. Zabaleta nods the rebound across goal, but Fernandinho wallops the volley miles over the bar.
9'
Sunderland going back to front at the moment. Wickham doing well to retain possession for the Black Cats before Negredo plucks a high ball out of the air.
8'
Aguero trying to run free from Alonso, but that is a solid piece of defending by the Sunderland number 28 to reclaim possession.
7'
O'Shea heads wide from six yards. Free header from the Johnson free-kick. How he missed that is a miracle. Dreadful miss it must be said.
6'
Connor Wickham taken out late by Martín Demichelis. A rash challenge by the City central defender.
5'
Hart makes a mess of a clearance, but Johnson can't control the loose ball. A real let-off there for the home side. Johnson should have done better.
4'
Could be a very, very long night for the Premier League strugglers. Looking ominous for the top flight's bottom club.
3'

GOAL! Fernandinho slams the ball beyond Mannone. Cattermole lost the ball. Lovely pass by Aguero. Step over by Negredo. A 1-0 lead for City.
Manchester City Goal

Right Footed - Bottom Right

2'
Borini tries to ghost beyond Kompany, but that is a timely tackle by the Manchester City captain. Solid stuff as you expect from this chap.
1'
Off we go then. Looks to be a glorious night for football. City knocking the ball around with some relish on a lush surface.
19:40
Lee Cattermole makes his 200th appearance in the Premier League. He could score in back-to-back Premier League away matches for the first time in his career, having scored only five goals in nine seasons in the Premier League. David Silva is not even on the bench for tonight's match, despite scoring twice and providing one assist in his last three Premier League matches.
19:35
Gus Poyet: "The most important part, which is the fans, they love it, they love football and they are desperate to do well. Go across the river and go to Newcastle - they are in an unbelievable situation in the table and there is a nightmare. Can we change over? Because that is a great problem to have, to be ninth? Why? Because it's that drive to get better all the time and to be always on top and it doesn't matter how many games you have won in the past because you need to win the next. "
19:35
Manuel Pellegrini: "Of course, the fans believe that we can do it [win the title]. The two games postponed - if we win both we are just one point behind Liverpool. If you don't believe (when you are) just one point behind the leader, nobody can believe anything. We have had a very good season so far and we hope we finish in the last six games in the same way."
