90+6'
That's full time. A deserved Stoke victory.
90+5'

Peter Crouch is booked for timewasting.

Stoke

Arsenal

90+4'
Arsenal come forward in droves, Sagna receives it on the right, and he aims a ball forward for Oxlade-Chamberlain, cuts it back for Sanogo, in acres of space, and he clips the ball well over the bar.
90+3'
A free kick for Stoke, just by the halway line. Begovic hoofs it clear as Stoke press up, and Stoke win a through on the right wing.
90+2'
A high Ozil ball is easily claimed by Begovic.
90+1'
Lots of Arsenal possession. Nothing happening with it though.
90'
Arsenal can't complain if they lose. So far have created nothing. It's a Manchester United level of performance - that bad. There are going to be five minutes of added time.
89'
Sagna sets up Oxlade-Chamberlain on the byline, and his cross is headed backwards by Sanogo, and now Arsenal have it back in defence. They come forward again, but Sanogo can't control a ball forward. Stoke then hoof the ball away.
88'

Etherington comes on for Arnautovic.
Stoke City Substitution
87'
Giroud hooks a weak effort at goal, and Etherington is warming up.
86'
Arteta blasts the ball into the wall, specifically Whelan.
84'
Giroud is down, tripped by Cameron on the edge of the box after receiving the ball from Sanogo. Free kick for Arsenal on the very edge of the box.
83'
Ozil plays a one-two with Giroud on the edge of the box, and drags a shot just wide of the goal.
82'
Arnautovic drives forward, holding off Sagna well, but his ball to Ireland is too soft and Arsenal intercept. Stoke clear through Shawcross.
81'

Sanogo comes on to replace Wilshere.
Arsenal Substitution
80'
A high ball for Giroud, and it's a waste of effort.
78'

Wilson is indeed penalised for the foul on Wilshere. It was another charmless Stoke effort.
77'
A late challenge from Wilson now. I missed on who.
76'

GOAL! Stoke City 1-0 Arsenal. Walters calmly slots the penalty into the goal, Szczesny going the wrong way.
Stoke City Penalty

Right Footed - Bottom Right

75'
Penalty! Walters kicks the ball into the air from the corner of the box, and Koscielny knees him in the chest and handballs it, accidentally.
74'

Oxlade-Chamberlain replaces Rosicky.
Arsenal Substitution
Stoke City Substitution
72'

Sagna is tackled as he attempts a cross from the right. The waste of calories Charlie Adam is replaced by Stephen Ireland.
71'
Adam bursts forward, tries to chip Szczesny from halfway, and it flies over.
70'
Adam doesn't stamp on anyone. Arsenal clear a low cross from the right.
69'
Adam doesn't stamp on anyone.
68'
Giroud is fouled by Pieters, he falls to the ground, and so Adam stamps on him. What a clown. The sooner Adam is retired, either by him or by someone else, from the game, the better. What an utter, utter scumbag.
67'

Ozil replaces Podolski.
Arsenal Substitution
66'
The cross isn't cleared. Crouch dithers, he flicks it back to Cameron's run and he blasts it a yard wide.
65'
Finally, a decent chance. Arnautovic comes onto his right foot, curls the ball towards Crouch, who glances it to the corner, but the keeper is across well to palm behind.
64'
Giroud's cross is an abomination. Mainly because if Giroud has the ball, then there's nobody to cross to.
62'
Cazorla finds Giroud, who lays it off to Podolski. He finds Gibbs on the left, but his cross is guff and Giroud gives away a foul. He and Pieters have a wee argument. No punching.
61'
Nothing happens.
60'
Podolski's cross is cleared by Wilson. Stoke come forward, spreading the play from left to right, and back again.
59'
This game now seems like a deliberate attempt by both to simply not score.
57'
Arsenal keep the ball for a full minute, going nowhere.
56'
Wilshere sends an overhit ball wide for Cazorla, gives it back to the roustabout, and he's tackled outside the box, now down injured.
55'
What on earth was Crouch doing.
53'

Pieters is clipped as he bursts forward by a late Rosicky lunge, and he is rightfully booked. It's a free kick on the left for Stoke. Adam takes, it's a great cross for Crouch. All he needs to do is head the ball almost anywhere, but he stupidly flings a high boot at it and wastes the chance.
Arsenal Yellow card

Stoke

Arsenal

52'
A Crouch overhead kick from a Cameron cross from the right, and it's about as good as you would expect.
51'
Cazorla's cross is easily caught by Begovic.
50'
Wilshere pulls the ball back for Podolski, he tees up Cazorla, and it's straight into a defender. Then a cross is deflected out for a corner on the right.
49'
Gibbs is crowded out as he drives into the box, and the ball is cleared for a throw on the left wing.
48'
A chance for Stoke, as a cross from Cameron results in Szczesny flapping at it, and it falling between Crouch and a defender, and Arteta boots it clear.
47'
Giroud is about to get through on goal, and he manages to slip at the crucial moment.
46'
The second half kicks off, and I pray to every and any God that the quality improves. Though, I suppose, praying to every God might annoy which ever the real one(s) is/are. N'Zonzi heads on Crouch's flick on, but it's easily stopped.
45+1'
That's half time. Woeful stuff from both, cowardly from Stoke.
45'
The ball is aimed forward to Giroud, but he can't bring the ball under control, and it's out for a goal kick. There's a minute of added time to come.
Stoke City Yellow card

Stoke

Arsenal

44'

Pieters is booked. He bounds forward and is late on Giroud as he knocks the ball away. Needlessly rough, and Stoke can't complain after their team performance this half.
43'
At the other end, Cazorla has a chance from outside the box, when Podolski is free in front of him, and has a shot that Begovic gets down quickly to save.
42'
The best chance of the game, and it's for Stoke City. The ball comes out to Whelan, running onto a loose ball from outside the area, and he catches it well, slicing it towards goal, but Szczesny beats it away well.
41'
Adam plays a ball behind Walters, and Sagna intercepts two passes in quick succession.
40'
Cameron clips a ball from the right well into the air, and behind for a goal kick.
39'
Giroud tries to play the ball round the corner to split the defence for Wilshere's run forward, but Begovic is out to claim quickly.
38'
Arsenal can't string passes through the middle or out wide, and they play too slowly to make it hard for Stoke to defend.
37'
Whelan stamps on Giroud, and goes unpunished. He should be off. Pathetic stuff from Stoke, now.
35'
This really is a game of poor quality. Or tactically fascinating, as some say.
34'
Adam leads with his studs, going into Arteta's thigh as they challenged for a high ball. It's exactly the kind of cowardly play expected from Adam, and luckily Arteta is OK. Adam goes unpunished. He should at the very least have been booked.
33'
Arteta wins the ball, though, and spreads ball left for Podolski, who slices well wide from just inside the box.
32'
Gibbs' whipped cross towards Giroud is cleared, and Stoke come forward as Crouch nods a high ball to Adam.
31'
N'Zonzi comes forward, swaps the ball with Walters down the wing, and his deflected cross is hooked into the side netting from a tight angle by Crouch.
30'
Sagna crosses for Giroud at the near post, some way out, and Giroud's header is saved at the near post easily enough.
29'
Arnautovic finds Walters with a curling ball to the byline on the right, but Walters is offside and the ref pulls the game back.
28'
Koscielny and Arnautovic clash heads, but both of them seem to be OK to carry on.
27'
Arteta goes through Adam on the halfway line as the two contest a Stoke clearance. Shawcross goes up, the ball is worked forward, but Arsenal can't clear, and Stoke can't effect anything constructive.
25'
Arnautovic does well to skin Sagna on the inside, but Mertesacker does well to come out and tackle. Wilshere is then fouled outside his box, after a kick from behind by Pieters.
24'
N'Zonzi - in the corner - is tackled by Arteta and Stoke have a corner on the left wing. Adam takes, pulling it back to Whelan on the edge of the box, and Cazorla tackles.
23'
Charlie Adam either crosses or shoots towards goal, but it limply rolls to the keeper and is easily stopped. Giroud and his haircut are fouled in midfield.
22'
Cazorla finds Gibbs, sprinting down the left, but Giroud's header is glanced well wide. At the other end, Koscielny's loose ball forward is out for a throw.
21'
Adam takes, curling the ball in, and Wilson knocks it back across, but Koscielny punts it clear.
20'
Arsenal are finding it tough to keep their passing accurate under the attention of Stoke. Wenger, perhaps coincidentally, puts on a coat. Is this mind games? Walters tries to beat Gibbs down the byline, and his cross is deflected behind for a corner.
18'
Rosicky aims a ball to the left for Giroud, but it comes off the toe of a defender and Arsenal have their third corner. It's taking from the left, swung in by Cazorla, but headed away by Adam. Cazorla wins the ball back, and from distance, curls a shot high and wide of the goal.
17'
Walters receives the ball from a Crouch volley forward, but can't keep the ball in. Podolski and Walters then flick wrists at each other like children.
16'
Arsenal win another free kick in midfield. They take it short and play patiently.
15'
Cazorla's second effort is headed away and Stoke break. Arnautovic sends in a great cross from deep, and Walters' glancing header is just wide, but he was correctly ruled offside.
14'
Arsenal win a free kick on the right. Cazorla takes, swinging the ball in, and it's headed behind.
13'
Sagna bursts forward on the right wing, but Pieters tackles, and manages to win a throw at the same time.
12'
Arsenal patiently play in front of Stoke until N'Zonzi wins the ball. They've had about 65% of possession so far, Stoke.
11'
Wilshere does well to win the ball in midfield, and Arsenal send the ball long with Gibbs, losing it straight away. Wilshere is tripped by Arnautovic in midfield, and Arsenal come forward.
9'
Rosicky finds Sagna, at his limits running forward, but his cross is low and deflected away, and Stoke have the ball now.
8'
A lull in the game as neither side can keep the ball under control.
7'
A ball over the top is aimed for Crouch to chase, but he started his run from an offside position and Arsenal clear with a free kick. Cazorla has a cross blocked out for a throw, and Sagna takes. Arsenal win another throw.
5'
Wilshere gives away another free kick, this time on Adam, 45 yards from goal on the left wing. Adam takes, curls the ball in, but it's low and into the arms of Szczesny.
4'
Arnautovic wins a foul in midfield from Wilshere, after the referee had attempted to play the advantage. The ball quickly goes out for a Stoke throw.
3'
A long from Cameron, but Arsenal clear and Stoke work the ball back to the defence.
2'
Stoke continue to press. I can exclusively reveal the weather is sunny.
1'
We've kicked off! Stoke start with the ball, keeping it comfortably.
14:55
Five minutes to go, so let's have a prediction. Arsenal will draw 1-1 with Stoke City, and the ghost of Harold Ramis will make a clearance off the line from a Giroud overhead kick.
14:50
I imagine Arsenal will win this match. Charlie Adam, little more than a thug with the ability to pass 20 yards consistently, will probably try to intimidate and injure as many Arsenal players as he can't get away with, but Arsenal aren't quite so brittle this season. That's not to say they won't cave embarrassingly and have their season completely end today.

Luckily for Arsenal, Gibbs is fit to play and Vermaelen is kept to where he can do relatively little - the bench. Don't be surprised if he still manages to chip in with a couple of own goals and then a header at the other end from there, though.
14:35
Arsene Wenger: "We have uncertainties about Monreal who had to come off last week with a foot injury, and about Gibbs. Vermaelen is back in the squad, Ozil is back in the squad. Both are available. If needed Thomas can play there, it's not his preferred position and he has been out for a long time now but we'll see. I still have 48 hours to make a decision."
14:30
Mark Hughes is right. Stoke City do need to win games. There's not much more to add to that comment.
14:25
Mark Hughes: "We seem to enjoy the challenge of going up against so-called bigger and better teams. We've gone to Anfield and only conceded one goal and played Man City twice and only conceded one goal. We were organised, resolute and full of character. What we have got to do now is go up against teams around us and take maximum points. What it takes is a number of back-to-back wins. West Ham have had four in a row and it takes them out of it somewhat. That's what we need to do."
